This company is the worst. They use spotters in the parking lot outside of Allen Premium outlets that call the tow truck drivers to tow your car, which is illegal in the state of Texas. There also isn't proper signage through out the parking lot to let you know not to park there. As a woman that they saw walk away from the car I would expect that they would have cared enough to say something to us as if they had women or girls in their family they wouldn't want this to happen to them where they are left stranded in a parking lot. They are horrible people and the way they run their business taking advantage of people during the Christmas season is absolutely disgusting. Oh they also drive around in a black dodge ram that has expired registration that is over a year expired and no front license plate. Only way I known this is I saw all them siting in the truck waiting for people to park so they could tow them. I have pictures to prove it! Second time was to wake up to no car when it was in the spot I pay for! Shocking the cost to get the car after they towed was only $300!! And it was 22 miles away! I think I'll just park the other junker in a rented spot in my apartments and let them tow it for free!! Also it takes HOURS to hear from some snotty woman to come get your car. Had them come out to tow my car to the dealership. The person who came over, quietly towed the car & we drove over to the destination. As we arrive, he says that he'll charge me $50 on top of the agreed upon charge as he had to use an 'additional' tool to load my car. Never gave me a heads-up, much less asked for permission as it required additional charge. He had no plans to waive it & gives me that cheap grin. I called the Safari Towing & the lady goes - this is how it goes & to pay up. To call it unprofessional is an understatement. These are are snaring customers in. Although the wait was 1-1/2 hours long (seems longer when you're stressed) for anyone to show up, the tow man that arrived was friendly and helpful!! Thank goodness!! I'd like to start by stating that leaving any type of negative review on a business absolutely goes against my character and bothers me to my core, simply because I know that these businesses are owned and operated by fathers, mothers, sons and daughters, locals of our community. HOWEVER, the experience received in the past two days completely warrants every single thing I have to say. To start- I've read other reviews hoping that my experience was one of a kind, however I see that it absolutely was not and seems to be fairly common, especially within the past few months. A friend & co-worker of mine was towed at 8:03 pm to Safari towing last night, according to the McKinney police department. It was discovered after getting off of work toward 1 am before she had to pick up her 7 year old son. Of course getting your car towed is an unfortunate situation and frustrating, so I'm sure the staff receives quite a bit of unrest and attitude- so I understand them being defensive immediately. Not that it's correct, but it is understandable. When my coworker called, she spoke to an incredibly hostile woman on the phone who repeatedly told her they do not have the car on their property. My coworker did not have her license plate number but had the VIN number, year, make & model available. The lady on the phone proceeded to argue with her saying they do not have her vehicle and to call the police because it had been stolen. (Mind you, we called the non emergency police number and they stated this company DID in fact have her car.) my coworker was of course upset and insisted they DID have her car.. because they did. They lady said she was being argumentative.. consistently said "woooooow" and told her not to call back several times after hanging up on her multiple times. I'd like to point out that we had 6 of our coworkers sitting around the phone and heard it all. She even stated that she had walked the entire property and that the vehicle was not there. A man answers later because the woman would no longer talk to her, he then says, and I quote, "ma'am, you can talk until you are blue in the face, but we close in 2 minutes and you won't be able to get your car until tomorrow and will have to pay the overnight fee." Please also keep in mind that this entire ordeal started at 1:15 and we are down the street from the towing location, so the incident was prolonged by their mistake. She goes back to get her car today and the man assisting her was rude and laughed at her multiple times. He tells her that he had heard my coworker was rude, argumentative, had no information on the vehicle to give, and that she was "speaking so fast it's like she was trying out for the debate team" which was false. She tried to point out that she had asked the lady to repeat the VIN she had given to her and He left the room for 5 minutes after not wanting to listen to the story. He said he'd come back when she was ready to pay with cash or credit. He was condescending and matched the attitude of everyone else that had been dealt with the night prior. To say the lack of professionalism was apparent is an understatement and absolutely NO ONE should be treated that way in an establishment. This is not a story that can be made up. Whoever the owner is, I understand wanting to protect your business and your employees as well, but you need to do some serious re-evaluation of your staff and standards. It was a truly disgusting and vile experience. I had my own car towed recently to Jordan towing inc in Plano and the staff was outstanding, professional, and friendly. They left my daughter waiting for 4 hours on Preston Road today. My daughter called them no less than 4 times to check on the status of the towing request made by Goodyear at 15th and Custer on her behalf. Each time she was given a vague excuse as to why they weren't already there getting ready to tow her car. Needless to say the last time my daughter called she was upset. This company started in Florida where their business practices were so unethical that they were not allowed to practice business there anymore. They have a lot out near Princeton and your car, if towed by them, will be kept in poor conditions. Their drivers are dirty and disrespectful. They do not seem to know how to tow a car without causing damage as mine was harmed during the tow. I recommend North Texas stop using their services so they can go somewhere else. Oops, wrong location! Matt is at the one on University. You know when is a horrible time for your car to break down? After a kids party, on Sunday. My daughter was hyped up, hungry, and ready for some quiet time when we discovered our SUV wouldn't start. Our roadside assistance service sent Safari Towing. Matt arrived and tried to get us back on the road with a few possible fixes, all the while the six year old was screaming her head off about how I was the worst mother in the universe for killing our car. Matt was very patient with her, even explaining that the car doctors would be able to revive it, he was just there to bring it to them. He waited with us until my husband could get there (the other car was on empty, of course). The RSA service had arranged to tow only to the nearest dealer, which was more than half an hour from our house, but upon finding out that we lived in McKinney, Matt called to find out if the dealer had a lot or if he'd have to tow it back to Safari's lot. They didn't and I was able to get the order changed so that it could be dropped off at our dealer here in McKinney in the morning. This saved us a ton of extra driving. Matt went out of his way to ensure that we were safe and taken care of, even on a busy night when they were shorthanded. I know he wanted to get home himself, as he'd just found out he was going to become a dad. read more

He then continued to act like I knew absolutely nothing, was very undermining, and kept trying to start my car when it wasn't going to start. He then "self diagnosed" a bad battery, when 10 minutes before that I told him exactly what was wrong. Wish I could give this company ZERO stars. I parked in my friend's apartment complex parking garage in McKinney which I did NOT see any "resident only" signs ANYWHERE. It was rainy and towing signs must have been pretty hidden. So I try to leave my friends apartment complex around midnight- to find my car is completely gone. I was worried, so I googled towing company's near me. Safari company rudely answered my call and I said my car had just been towed and I needed it for work. They answered the phone, yet said I can only get it tomorrow; Which makes the fee higher. They told me they were closed so I asked why someone was answering the phone if they're closed. I needed my birth control pills and important personal stuff out of my purse which was inside my car, I explained this to them & they didn't care one single bit. Towing fee was around $300 and I had to have my boyfriend's mother drive out around 1-2 AM because I had work in the morning; she did too- I felt terrible. Next day after having to get a ride to WORK, I go to this run down, ghetto, Safari towing company. It looks like a shack. The towing guy pulled up later than when we agreed to meet, didn't introduce himself, say hello, NOTHING. I explained the situation about seeing no signs anywhere and he gave me rude comments saying "I'm sure you didn't" and "that's what everyone says" winking at me.... disgusting. my mom simply explained $300 is a lot for us on top of car insurance, tuition for college, etc. he replied with- "you know how much safari's insurance is? $8000 a month." Giving us attitude, and was just completely degrading towards us. The guy was a SLEAZY JERK. His girlfriend was just dancing around in their towing car, with music loud. Terrible experience, and VERY unprofessional company. Money hungry, trashy workers. He ended up loosing $190 bucks in cash that he had left in his apron from work as a bartender. He is also a College Student so he also had to pay $296 bucks to get his car back. After calling Safari numerous times saying they were going to look at the Videos they never called him back. Spoke to the Manager today he told me it could have been stolen prior to being towed, funny thing is the Sheriff said there was no forced entry. When I mentioned this to the Manager he said they are to busy to look at the videos or call my son back. Let him know we will be reporting this to the Sheriff and the BBB... his response was "Hell with the BBB" and hung up on me. All I can say is watch out KARMA is a bitch. I called at 9:40am and Safari Towing of McKinney said the ETA would be in 1.5 to 2 hours. The destination was about 20 minutes away. They didn't drop my car off at the destination until 2:52pm. Giving them every benefit of the doubt, that's about 2 hours later than it should have been. The bottom line is that the shop now tells me that my car won't be fixed until tomorrow. I feel that with an extra 2 hours time, the shop probably could have had my car ready for me to pick up by closing time tonight. I have never been so disrespected by an entire company. My car broke down so my dealership called a towing company. It was raining so I understood that I would have to wait. I received a text saying that it would be 90 minutes for them to get to me. I was lucky enough to wait inside at a nearby doctors office (which the entire staff was extremely nice). When 3:45 came around I called to see if they were on there way. They said it would be another 45 minutes. For the record I did not get upset because I understood the weather was bad. 45 mins pass, nothing. Called back again to get an update, again I never raised my voice or said anything rude (I was in a doctors waiting room and wouldn't want to cause a scene). After patiently waiting they arrived at 4:18 (3 hours later). I went outside to point/show them which car was mine. And the truck driver started yelling and curing at me saying "are you f-ing pointing at me?!", "you f-ing tell my wife I'm f-ing lazy because I'm 3 hours late?!" (Which I NEVER said) and then continued cussing me out. Cussing me out so bad that a couple office employees and patients took notice from the window/front door. They kept cussing at me and said "I don't care about leaving you in the f-ing rain". I realized that I didn't feel safe and it wouldn't be smart to have them transport me or my car back to the dealership. So I told them to just go. Right after they left, their dispatch calls me and cusses me out HARD. Which at this point I will admit I was mad, and had every right to defend myself especially after the dispatch lady told me "you have two eyes and one f-ing mouth that you need to shut the f**ck up and listen because your a rude f-ing b*tch". Luckily I had her on speaker phone and had witnesses hear EVERY SINGLE WORD. We'll see if the dealership will continue to use them as one of their preferred towing companies.... because I've already spoken to their headquarters and they are not happy with their lack of professionalism and respect. This is a review for the "Towing Enforced" arm of Safari Towing, which tows unauthorized vehicles from lots in the Plano and Frisco areas. My vehicle was mistakenly towed from my apartment while I was out of town, and while I was not responsible for the costs I was responsible for retrieving my vehicle. Finding the management office and lot is difficult, as they do not openly advertise as "Safari Towing" on their exterior. You are met with what resembles a dirt parking lot in front of a rather nondescript building that is located at the listed address. The management inside the building is more concerned with taking your money than with helping you get back to your vehicle. Be prepared to encounter rude, condescending receptionists who will do their best to avoid interaction, even when treated with respect. A wait of around 20 minutes is expected for a simple card charge and a couple of signatures. The individuals in charge of taking you out to retrieve your vehicle are typically tow operators around the office. In my experience they were very understanding and sympathetic to my situation, and were very conversational and easy-going. Overall the experience is acceptable if you exhibit patience and understanding that the towing company is just doing its job. Management, however, could benefit from some professionalism and courtesy. read more

I understand that tow service is important and can be truly helpful when your vehicle is broken down or involved in an accident; however, this company is notorious for trolling apartment complexes in the middle of the night and stealing peoples vehicles, and during weeknights no less. So when you awake to go to your job, surprise, your vehicle is gone. I've had a vehicle stolen before and had to file with the police department and all that Jazz. That being said, when you walk out to go to work and your vehicle is gone, you are left wondering, did it get stolen or did some money hungry tow service get it. I had to go all the way to Mckinney to get my car on Mother's Day (with my two-year old's carseat still in it that I needed) and pay $300.00 for a towing that was not even my fault. It was the weekend so my apartment complex was not in the office until afternoon. As soon as they were in, they called Safari towing and made their complaint. I have been promised a full refund for almost four weeks now from Safari Towing. I have given my full card number three times now and been pushed around and sent to voicemail multiple times.They have told me multiple times that the refund has been issued, yet it has not been. I wish they would rectify the situation and fix their mistake. Instead, they have made me feel over and over again that I don't matter.
