I went down there right away and within a few minutes turned over my keys for the repair. They quoted me $155 (out of pocket, without insurance), which sounded fair and honestly unbelievable at first for SF, but I went with it. My sister picked me up from the shop during the install and when she dropped me off she mentioned that she needed her windshield replaced. She got a quote, processed through insurance and replaced the next day. When I get to my car, they had cleaned all of the glass from the seats, cupholders and carpet. They restored my car back and honestly made my crappy day better, quickly. This is not my first window replacement, unfortunately... I have had it happen a few times before, but now I will always call and recommend In & Out Auto Glass. The technician assured me it was repairable. Minutes later, after using the suction equipment during the repair process, that tiny chip turned into a 2-inch crack across my windshield. What was a simple repair is now a full windshield replacement. The most frustrating part isn't even the damage--it's the complete lack of accountability. When I contacted the company, they refused to take responsibility and basically told me to file an insurance claim and pay my deductible. The manager, Greg Lisbon, actually suggested I should just go through my insurance instead of making things right. If a professional attempts a repair and causes additional damage, the customer shouldn't be left holding the bill. I rarely leave negative reviews. In fact, I usually give businesses the benefit of the doubt because mistakes happen. What matters is how a company handles those mistakes. Unfortunately, this company chose to deny responsibility and leave me with an even bigger problem than the one I called them to fix. I trusted them with a small chip. After calling a couple shops in the area for quotes and timing, I narrowed it down to either Secureway or Tesla's mobile repair for the mirror with a combo of them or another shop for the paint. Lucero walked me through the process of ordering parts, repairing/repainting the doors, and dealing with insurance. Based on the already great reviews, my experience speaking with Lucero, and the fair estimate they provided, I decided to give them the entire job. They did not disappoint! It took a little while longer than expected because Tesla took a while to ship the parts, but they kept me updated and the car looked good as new afterward. It looked like they washed it, topped up the charging, and had all the protective mats and plastics for the interior to keep it clean. I appreciate the work they did and would highly recommend!
