Blasted rock on the toll road got me good and the following morning, my window had a 7" crack. I chose Safelite to replace my windshield. I scheduled my appointment online. Entered my Info and VIN. We did have a glitch with them not having the right molding for my car. My car was very drivable with the crack being on the passenger side and it seemed reasonably stable. (spreading outwards, not towards the driver's side.) So we rescheduled and once they got what was needed, we did the installation and calibration. Despite the delay, I appreciated taking the extra time to get things right. I am leaving soon on a month long roadtrip and having that windshield secure and legal (in any state) was my biggest concern. The windshield looks great. The technicians were upfront and apologetic about the delay. And everything was completed in plenty of time for me to hit the road exactly as planned. Except those gravel trucks on I-130. Never plan on getting stuck behind one of those spewling rocks but it happens. I am grateful that my break was spaced out a bit from all the recent hail damage too. I was able to get my replacement when needed. The staff there are really nice. Helpful. Hard working people like the rest of us. I appreciated them a lot. read more

I had my windshield replaced by safelite and the tech that did the replacement also damaged my vehicle while driving it after. I have it on video. I contacted safelite and have spoken with several managers for over 4 months now, they said many times that they would fix the damage. However, here I am 3+ months later and they were only willing to pay for partial repairs leaving me with not only 4 times going to their office with my vehicle, but my own time wasted in their partial efforts. But now they expect me to pay for the rest of the repairs of $1,200, but also more of my time wasted. Never use this company! Plenty of other options out there! read more

Updated: 5th time and it still wasn't installed right!!!!! 19+ hours of time over 4 different trips. What in the world? This is so infuriating!!!! Arlington TX 1st attempt - they had the wrong windshield and could not replace 2nd attempt - they replaced but it wasn't installed correctly. The windshield was raised all across the bottom and there were gaps in the molding. Had to book an appt in austin to get it replaced under warranty. Austin TX 3rd attempt - took it in and left then they called a couple hours later to say they could not replace it due to the weather / mist. I feel like they could have told me this up front for my vehicle or called to say they can't do any calibrations today. Had to pay for inversion to and from. 4th attempt - I dropped it off at 8am and it's 4:50 pm and I'm still waiting. This is a awful. Finally got the car back and they said they couldn't do calibration and that they would need to order the OEM model. 5th attempt - dropped the car off a day early on Friday. Appt was Sat. planned to pick up the car on Monday. Called on fri / Sat to ask if the windshield was the OEM version. They said yes. Picked up the car on Monday and the windshield was raised on the bottom of one side AND the windshield was not the OEM they ordered and said they had for my repair. Pro: the staff is very friendly and trying their best at both locations. A lot of time, resources and money has been spent due to having to try this 5 times vs one. read more

As a fact, the technician had already taken care of other chips on my windshield prior to this time with excellent results. This one though, ended up looking worse than the actual star shaped crack on my glass. Update from time of my review. Meant to post this a while back , but forgot. Safelite did eventually get back to me. It turns out that my windshield was not properly installed and was allowing water to enter my vehicle. This went on for several month and eventually ended up soaking some electrical lines in my car along with causing my carpets to mold. I had to file an insurance claim with them, which ended up totaling my vehicle. This whole process was time consuming and stressful, but they did accept fault and the issue was resolved. So it wasn't the best experience, but they did the right thing after some hassling. read more

I've used Safelite 4 times in the last 8 years to repair rock damage to my window. I've had my car for several years and thankfully each time Safelite repairs my windshield I can barely see where the rock hit. It's so easy to book an appointment online and reschedule if needed (which I had to due to the snowstorm) and the whole process is simple. My technician this time was Eddie and he did a fantastic job! As a courtesy he vacuumed my car and cleaned my windshield. He left a card on my front seat and when I left to go somewhere the next day I saw it and thought it was so nice and unexpected. I really like this company and will continue to use them if necessary although I hope no more rocks hit my window. read more

I had scheduled an appointment using the online web service and showed up at Safelite (Howard Lane, Austin, Texas) to drop off the vehicle. To be fair, I had selected the wrong type of glass for my vehicle (I am not an expert glass person) and had to reschedule my appointment. They rescheduled me for a few weeks out from my original appointment. When the day came, it turned out that they had rescheduled the appointment for the same incorrect glass replacement. Using the Safelite phone representatives, I had to reschedule a new appointment for another few weeks out and gave them my VIN number to ensure the proper OEM glass is ordered. They day before the 3rd appointment, I received an e-mail saying that they would have to cancel since they wouldn't have the part in the store. Today was the 4th appointment (2 months since I started this whole process). I showed up at the Howard Lane location and the person at the window said that I was scheduled in Killeen, Texas (70 miles away). I asked "why am I scheduled in Killeen?" She said, "I don't know. You will have to reschedule, since the part is in Killeen." I canceled my appointment and called my insurance to obtain the name of a different glass repair location. My Safelite experience was pretty much an epic fail on their part and I won't ever be putting myself through their disorganization in the future. read more

I had a small ding in my window from a rock that a truck threw up on the highway. So I contacted GEICO and they sent Safelite to fix this. The tech actually came early and that was the only good thing about this. The tech did not seem to know what he was doing. He actually made the ding larger and now more apparent than what is was. It's bad enough I've had to replace my windshield twice in less than 12 months (all on my road-tripping, not on Safelite by any means), but when because of that I've spent A LOT of money there, I would have hoped that I'd be treated better. Additional costs were NOT communicated with me. The email I received AFTER I'D PAID FOR THE REPAIRS said "Something's changed... Your technician has likely been in touch about the change in service on your (car). Check out your updated pre-authorization receipt to review the total cost of services." Well, the technician DID NOT discuss with me. I DID NOT authorize the additional charges- how could I when I wasn't asked? And I was in the waiting room. They have my phone and email. There's just no excuse. AND the email that did have the "new pre-authorization" receipt (which isn't adequate communication anyway to AUTORIZE ADDITIONAL CHARGES) was not sent until AFTER the repairs were completed. My name was spelled wrong in their system and I told them that if the cc bounced back because THEY couldn't bother to spell my name right (when I clearly am in their system- again 2 windshields in less than a year) and they were flippant about it. And while, yes, I should have dealt with the additional charges then and there, I was done and knew I wouldn't be friendly so I left and called corporate. Yes, corporate handled my complaint and issued a partial refund, but I will still never give a penny to Safelite ever again. Even if insurance is covering your repairs, know you have options and I suggest you explore your options before using Safelite. read more

Save your time and money and go somewhere else first. I brought my car in on March 6th after someone broke my window. The glass was quickly fixed, however, when I went to leave I noticed the air bag light was on on my dashboard and there was glass rattling in my door. I went back inside and was told to bring the car back on the 8th if the problems persisted. As shocking as this may sound, both issues did not resolve themselves and I had to bring the car back in. The air bag light was quickly turned off however the glass in the door still rattled a lot. After speaking with several technicians including the master technician, the assistant manager told me there was nothing else they could do to get the glass out. I asked for a partial refund so I could bring the car somewhere else. The amount offered wouldn't even cover the diagnostic fee, let alone any repairs. After pointing this out and beginning to discuss reimbursement for repairs done at another shop in lieu of the partial refund, the assistant manager instead said that he would order rivets and they would remove my speaker to clear any remaining glass. I was told to bring in my car on the 15th to have this done. I dropped it off this morning and about five minutes later the master technician, the same one from a week prior, called me and said that he was going to order me a new speaker rather than continue with the back and forth of this situation. He said he would call the dealership and see if they had one in stock and then get back to me. Hours later I received a call from a manager. The manager informed me that after running some tests (the same tests run a week prior by the same master technician that lead him to believe it was glass in the speaker) they had determined that is was not glass in the speaker, the speaker was instead blown, and they were not liable for it's repair. I asked if they had taken the speaker off (the whole reason for me bringing the car in) and he said that they were not able to do that and the assistant manager did not have the authority to authorize that. I then asked why the master technician had said he was going to order a new speaker and he said that he didn't have the authority to authorize that. So now I'm left with a speaker that sounds terrible (it worked fine before I brought it in) and I need to pay a different shop to fix it out of my own pocket. The staff was incredibly rude and extremely dismissive and essentially lied to me twice by way of making promises that could not be kept. I am shocked by the incredibly low standard of business here. The service here is terrible. I am still waiting on a response from the store manager. Someone had placed me on the schedule for a windshield replacement on 9-3-22. I never scheduled this. When I called to check on the appointment and who scheduled it, I was placed on hold and then told no one knew anything about it. You can see the damage in the photos and more importantly, how was the windshield installed properly with the cowling still on the vehicle. I would give less than 1 star if I could. The repair and expectations on the cosmetics were explained correctly and clearly. They were, unfortunately, a little short-staffed and got my car confused with another car but I went in to double-check and they finally got someone to work on the chip. The more you do online with pre-appt setup, insurance claim, & even payment the easier the experience will be. I will say have a little patience or be ok with leaving the car and coming back later when service is complete. Be sure that before you leave, if you do, that service has started at least. read more

The guy who came to my home was on time. He " repaired" a small crack on one windshield but didn't touch the other Knicks on window. His words " oh I wouldn't worry about those right now". The other car had 2 crack in windshield. He swore that the cracks had been " tampered " with. So he didn't do anything to that vehicle. I explained to him over the phone Noone had messed w those cracks tis reason you all were called. He let me know he's the " professional " and been doing this for many years. I had a 10:30am appointment that was made 2 weeks ago at Safelight-Austin on Howard Road location to replace and calibrate the front windshield of my Cadillac XTS on 03/16/2021. The weather was overcast and the road a little damp. After a 45 minute drive with traffic, I'm now pulling into their parking lot of Safelight. I get a call from their office 512.634.2904 to tell me that the roads are damp, and have to reschedule. What? Hello, I saw the weather last night said rain on the forecast, and your telling me as I'm pulling into the parking lot, drove 45min and cleared my work schedule to get this done, as it cannot pass state inspection with a cracked windshield, and you don't want to replace the windshield today? I spoke to the tech and he said it could take all day, fine I will stay until it gets done, then the Manager said it won't be done today. Now I'm confused? Tech said all day, Manager said they are NOT replacing it today. They know I was upset, however they did NOTHING to help me or attempted to assist me and getting my vehicle back in the following day or later in the afternoon. The only response as I'm leaving is "HAVE A NICE DAY" That's a kick in the gut response... My boy Ryan at Covert Cadillac Saved the day and referred me to a awesome glass guy... This Safelite was amazing! I was able to schedule an appointment super quick. Though the windshield they ordered wasn't OEM and didn't work with my sensors they ordered a new windshield and it was damaged. Though they were very nice and scheduled as soon as they could. They're working overtime just to make sure people's windshields get replaced. Cliff was super helpful when he originally helped with my first windshield. Kevin my second appointment was a superstar. He did everything I asked and got it done really well. The only thing I wish was that it was easier to contact their office, though I didn't count that towards my rating as I'm sure that's corporates doing. Awful!! The technician arrived late, was a sweaty mess and smelled foul. I had my car in the garage for the repair to be completed. The technician showed not a care for sanitation or social distancing whatsoever. The windshield actually looked worse after the repair! To add insult to injury, the technician didn't close the car door completely which left an interior light on and completely drained the battery. I then had to call roadside assistance to get my car started. Neither the technician or Safelite customer service would return my calls, text or email. I will never ever use Safelite again!! read more

Do NOT recommend them. They will call and confirm your appointment then change the date as soon as you hang up with them. Then they will reschedule a 2nd time the day before they're supposed to come out and push your appointment out another 2 weeks. When you finally take it into them, they won't change your windshield cause your 32 year old truck has surface rust. read more
