They installed the front and back glass. The back glass wiper and sprayer did not get hooked up. Water is going between the panels. The front glass Rt. trim got broken when they were installing. They had to order parts. Months later I called. A new Repair man came out. Did not have a work order or the replacement parts. I was told when he returned to office, he would contact me for another service call; I have not heard anything in several weeks. Horrible service, work not completed; but they were paid for the completed job. Should I call Safelite or State Farm? I have 6 vehicles that Safelite has serviced, one time or another. Second appointment this week. First appointment was to replace a windshield. Had to come back because their recalibration system was down. Was told it would take 20 minutes. I have already been here for 2 hours. Ridiculous. UPDATE: I have to return for my THIRD appointment this week because they used an after market windshield for the replacement. NO WONDER IT FAILED TO RECALIBRATE TWICE. I waited there for over two hours (they told me they just needed 20 minutes) for them to say that they need to replace the windshield AGAIN. read more

I brought my 2024 Kia Sportage to Safelite last weekend to have the windshield replaced. While the replacement itself went smoothly, the handling of my dash cam was unacceptable. Instead of removing it carefully, it appears the technician scraped off the adhesive from both the windshield and the device itself, damaging the mount in the process, and then attempted to reuse the same adhesive to reattach it to the new windshield. Just a few hours after picking up my car, the dash cam had completely detached and was left dangling in front of my steering wheel, obstructing my view. I attempted to restick the dash cam to the adhesive but it won't reattach. So I decided to replace the adhesive myself, but whatever was used to reattach it to the new windshield is now stuck on and impossible to remove, even with a scraper. To make matters worse, I've tried calling Safelite repeatedly but have been unable to get in touch with a real person, it's all automated. I just need to speak with someone at the Baton Rouge location. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of care and follow-up. This experience has left me with a damaged dash cam, adhesive residue I can't remove, and a serious safety issue while driving. read more

When a large rock put a hole in my windshield, I was able to take my car the same day for a repair. The staff was so nice and I was in and out. However, the repair didn't work (sometimes they don't) and my windshield cracked 2 weeks later. Safelite backed their reputation and immediately scheduled a windshield replacement! They were able to send a mobile service to my home. Tylor was AWESOME! Very professional and very polite! When he wasn't able to recalibrate the sensors, he scheduled me to go to the shop a couple days later to do the recalibration. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted and taken care of quickly! Where do I begin? I'd like to first say that I gave them many opportunities to make things right before writing this. Eric, the manager, did his best but I think he was out of the office when my car was actually serviced. After dropping off my car for a 1:30 pm appointment, I heard nothing. Crickets. Until after they closed without contacting me. Do I just not have my car the next day? What's going on?! The phone rings at 6:46 pm. If I want to get it I can come get it but they couldn't recalibrate it. Why is this the first I hear something? I'm told they'll wait for me to get my car and they'll be sure to have someone call first thing in the morning to get me rescheduled. Did anyone call me the next day? No. I finally called them at 1 pm the next day and was told they'd call me right back. 2 hours later I called customer service. While she was friendly, it became abundantly clear that even more things weren't done properly or communicated originally. Not only would I not be getting my glass fixed the next day, I'd have to wait at least a week. Don't worry, the manager will contact me (he did, credit to him) but this call took 45 minutes and I was told she would follow up with me. She did not. The manager got me on the schedule for the next week. Yay. Meanwhile the glass they replaced chipped on my way home. On the way home. So not the best quality. The next week, I dropped my car off the night before. My car would be the first one on the schedule and I'd have it by lunch time.... Did I hear anything by 12? No. Did I have to reach out again to find out they had even looked at my car? Yes. Finally got a text that my car was ready and went to get it. Glass looked great but none of my stickers were put back. Where's my inspection sticker? I go ask the woman at the desk about my stickers and when she finally came back they were just stuck to her fingers. "Here." She says, holding her fingers out with the stickers on them. Um. What? At this point, I just want to leave. So I take them and restuck them myself. Finally I'm back in my car to see that no one has bothered to vacuum any of the debris left from the changeout. My dashboard is a mess. I guess when you're the only game in town, you don't feel like customer satisfaction matters. I'm very disappointed. This process took a week, left me without a car for two days, and no attempt was made to do anything to make things better. Find another option! read more

I had my windshield changed out last year on my 2021 Mazda 3, I dropped it off for a few hours, they called me to go pick it up a few hours later. When I got in it and down the road i noticed my heads up display (speedometer) was doubled. I turned around and brought it back. The tech said it was common on Mazdas and they would order and install O.E.M glass, took about a week for the glass to come in, they called when it arrived, changed it out, no problem. There was no sign of broken glass as they cleaned and vacuumed all the debris. They were super nice and professional. I plan on using them again in a few days as I need another windshield due to a rock chip that ran, but I will remind them it needs to be OEM glass. Update: I had my appointment Saturday, they put in OEM glass and it's doing the same thing as last time! Double heads up display, when I got in, I couldn't see out of my windshield, just the reflection of my dash, (but didn't see reflection with my sun glasses on, but I couldn't see my heads up display with shades on either!!!), I called the tech back to my car and showed him, he said it was because I had a tint strip before and it's just glare. Well on way home my h.u.d actually went out. When I got home I noticed wires under my rear view mirror that was not there before. I will take it back this morning and express my concern. I hope they are able to fix it as it is a 2021 Mazda 3 with only 8,900 miles on it. Update: When I took it in to be looked at they said it would be a warranty, and they would change it as it must be a defective OEM part, they ordered a new glass, took a whole week to come in, my appointment was today and they said they see no reason to change it!!! He said 3 people sat in my car and it looked fine to all those people. So they did nothing, and the doubling is still there and I can't even see it with my sun shades whereas before this windshield got changed, I could.. I'm not to satisfied and this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

went in the first time for windshield replacement/recalibration. After 5 hours in the waiting room with no communication they came out and told me they couldn't calibrate because they put in the wrong windshield and I would have to come back. So drove off with no cameras, etc and came back the following weekend. Was there 2 hours before they told me again they needed to replace the windshield and I told them that's what I was there for to begin with. Back to waiting until they came and told me they didn't have the right windshield in stock. I work and can't just come in when they want me to, so I made an appointment a month or so later (had surgery in the meantime). Went in to hopefully have everything taken care of only to find out they still had no windshield so it sat all day with no repair. I asked why they didn't call me to let me know and they said they did, but there were no messages and when I called back I just got a recording. The attitude was uncaring and rude and they seemed to be blaming me for the "miscommunication". it the truth is, they didn't keep me in their system and didn't try to reach out. So now I've got a windshield but no camera vision and am going to have to find a different place to get this taken care of since I've given them three chances to fix it. This was my first time using Safelite and they were very polite and prompt with their timing! The tech that came out (Justin) was courteous and polite but sadly to say not very thorough! When he replaced the windshield he left all kinds of crud all over the dash and the console! He did a horrible job of replacing the molding and didn't properly replace the windshield wiper on the passenger side! There was also a noise that came from below the windshield when you drove the car! I called and they were very apologetic about the situation and promptly made an appointment for the following day to correct the problems! The tech that came out to fix everything (Brayan's) was great! He was quick and thorough and very polite ! So for me , I would hope this was a very isolated situation. DO NOT take your car here to have any work done. They replaced my windshield and three days later when it rained, water was leaking and streaming down the inside of the windshield. They replaced it again that afternoon and ended up destroying the entire pre-collision sensor system on my car. They cut a wire, and they broke off pins trying to shove a male part into a female part. The dealer called and asked, "Did you recently have your windshield replaced?" I acknowledged that I had, and he asked, "Did Safelite do it by chance?" When I said they had, he told me that he's seen this before from cars that had been to Safelite. How much does anyone want to wager that Safelite will do the right thing, admit to their terrible work and reimburse me for the damages that THEY caused? I'll take this all the way to the local press in Baton Rouge and picket their store if I have to. This is UNEXCUSABLE!!!! read more

Absoloutly never again. All company accounts have been cancelled as well. Was originally quoted $619 for early bird repair,safety glass, and on-site repair. Scheduled no problem......get a text 1 hour later claiming oh the vehicle has to have a safety recalibration. I explained NO it does not. It's an XL Ford work truck with no such features and any sensor is located on the front cab area of the truck. Was told that the safety calibration was "Mandatory" on any vehicle over a certain year which was an additional $345 now making the total over $1000 for a basic windshield. Once again had to repeat the vehicle has no such feature. Mechanics are NOT mechanically inclined nor knowledgeable about vehicle brands. Word to the wise. Was also pressured into upselling to other features multiple times. My company nor I will ever spend a single red cent with this buisness ever again. read more

After my divorce in 2022, I purchased a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas from a local dealership in Prairieville, LA. Excited and eager to purchase my first vehicle without another person involved, I never noticed the windshield not having the Volkswagen emblem on it and CarFax does not put windshield replacements on the history. Many trips to the Volkswagen dealership in Baton Rouge and thousands of dollars later, my vehicle is only continuing to have issues. Few of the items on the list of repairs: (4) all tires had to be replaced due to improper weight/unbalanced, sunroof seal replaced due to water leaking into the interior portion of the car, both doors on the drivers side have been "tightened" at the hinges to prevent further water leaking inside, new battery, non-working cruise control due to non-calibrated front camera (after paying over $700 to try to calibrate it twice at VW). Volkswagens diagnosis... incorrect windshield for vehicle and unable to calibrate until replaced (Not reinstalled because Safelites windshields are not OMV certified)....Guess how much that replacement will cost me... almost $2500! I finally found out that my cars previous owner replaced the windshield TWICE in less than one year with Safelite... September 2021 and March 2022. I purchased it in September 2022. I went to the Baton Rouge Safelite location and was appauled at the service I received. The manager basically made me feel stupid for being there and said that the warranty only goes to the purchaser of the windshield. I tried to explain that this was not a cracked windshield needing replaced by warranty, this was an installation error that has caused major issues to my vehicle and money that a single mom of three can't afford! Safelight changed my windshield in November 2024 through an insurance claim with my insurance company USAA. I had to pay out of picket over $1000 due to my deductible. A week ago, my car had a Crack in the corner of the passenger side. I couldn't find any point of impact from something hitting the vehicle. I had others look as well. I drove my vehicle to an appointment that day for about 30 minutes. I then parked the vehicle in my garage and proceeded to contact Safelight and my insurance. I finally got a warranty appointment to change the windshield on Thursday, a week later. The technician subjectively decided that there was an area of impact and refused to replace the window. I had noticed over the few days that my vehicle was not driven that the cracks had spread and there was also a little zigzag scratch like area where light was shining through. These things were not there initially. I believe my having to drive the vehicle may have caused further stress, but I don't believe there was any impact from a rock as the technician claimed. Terrible service. Damaged vehicle in process of being repaired. Filed a claim. Was asked to bring my vehicle in to be inspected and pictured which I did. 4 days later I'm calling since no one reached out to me. After multiple transfers the manager answered. I was told he would not cover the damage. I asked him to reply with an email stating that he denied my claim. He replied NO! i asked for him to updated my account with showing he denied, again a reply of no. I asked if he was ok with me recording the call so I had some proof of him denying my claim. I had to get the front windshield replaced for inspection because of a crack. They did well, except they forgot to put my antenna back on...I didn't notice this for weeks. I wondered if it flew off or if someone yanked it off, then after work one day I noticed it lying on the car next to the windshield. Extremely disappointed. Made an appointment to have my windshield replaced on July 19, 2023 between 12 pm and 5 pm. Technician did not call or show up. Received a call four days later (Sunday afternoon) from what sounded like a call center to make another appointment. Told the caller that I would have to call back on Monday when I was in my office and was able to look at my calendar. I called the next day ( Monday) and made another appointment for today (July 26, 2023) between 12 pm and 5pm. Safelite damaged my car. They called me at about 4:20 to come get my car on Friday which I live on the other side of town and it was going to take me about 20-30 minutes to get there if not longer with traffic on a Friday. We made it there between 4:55 and 4:59 to pick up the car. We set in the parking lot for about 2-5 minutes discussing what we was going to do about driving the car because they broke something while replacing the windshield and they had to order it. So now I have to deal with these lack luster dishonest people again at this location's because clearly they struggle with fixing windshields as well. We immediately pulled over and called Safelite and got customer service because they close at 5. Mind you, we picked the car up between 4:55 and 4:59 because they called at 4:20. We went back Saturday morning and at 7:45 because they open at 8 and let the assistant manager know. She takes pictures and start with the we don't have nothing that could have done that. I knew than we were going to have a problem. We have to wait to Monday to talk to the manager which I believe they was stalling including on Friday because they knew. They checked the next door neighbor camaras and admit no one hit my car. They also admit that they took pictues before they started work and no damage was on the back of my car. If see the picture below it look like a tool or something hit my car so they admitted everything except ownership they they did it. I've never had an issue like this with no business and if I left my car for repairs at any business it was well taken care of. BEWARE OF SAFELITE IN BATON ROUGE. I'll be telling everyone. read more

Last year during a road trip from San Diego, CA to Nashville, TN my Subaru Outback got a crack in the windshield around El Paso Texas. My family and I were stopping in Baton Rouge for a day to visit family before heading to Nashville for Christmas and I called a day ahead of time and was able to schedule a drop off time for my windshield to get replaced. Safelite replaces my windshield and re-programmed my eyesight safety features and even stayed open late, because my Uber took forever to get from my grandparents house to the safelite location, so that I could pick my Outback up and continue with the road trip the next day. Usually have them come to my place but since the weather was not ideal that day, I went to the location. Smooth sailing chaining the meeting location online and it wasn't that far out of my way. Once there, I checked in and waited for a tech to come talk to me. They woman said my crack was pretty deep, they'd be able to seal it up but would still leave a scar. She always made me aware of the possibility that it could possible crack more and spread during the sealing process. Luckily, that didn't happen and all that remains is a slight line. Took around twenty monitors in all. Should be noted that complimentary water bottles and coffee were offered in the waiting room and that my insurance paid for the service. Would have set me back 100 plus otherwise. It's worth it to have to crack sealed and keep it from spread.
