This was a horrible experience twice with two different vehicles. Both were in decent condition and they refused to put glass in. They said too much rust and has to take to bodyshop. No problem finding another glass installation place. Go somewhere else. They just want to milk money out of you. Don't waste your time. This was the bayshore long island site. Horrible Service Made appointment and it was confirmed just for me to come in and the technician to tell me that some showed up the day before without appointment and took my part for my vehicle. I had to come back days later just to get my glass fixed. My insurance company suggested Safelite to repair a chip in my windshield that was beginning to spread. Setting up the appointment was super easy. You will also get multiple text messages and emails to remind you about your appointment. Very convenient. José arrived promptly and was very pleasant. He was under the assumption that he would be able to merely fix a chip in the windshield. Due to the location of the chip and because it was spreading, he informed me that I needed to have the windshield replaced. He set up the new appointment for the new windshield for me on the spot. Excellent customer service on his part. A few days later, after several reminder emails and text messages, Edwin came to replace my windshield. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and polite. Before I knew it, Edwin installed the new windshield. I even ordered a new set of wiper blades and he put them on effortlessly. He was very efficient and did an excellent job. He was meticulous about the job from start to finish. An exemplary team member! The real test came later that evening. We had epic thunderstorms, and I began hoping the job was done properly, or if I'd have a foot of water in my car. Edwin really did an amazing job, as everything was perfect! I highly recommend using Safelite, especially during the pandemic. The technician came to my house, practiced social distancing properly, had everything he needed in his van and was able to complete my transaction on his phone. All definite positive factors during these trying times. The only negative part of the whole experience was dealing with the girl who answered the phone. She seemed annoyed, was curt and rushed me off the phone. I would never give this company anything less than five stars, as both technicians were exceptional, however, the person who answers the phone is the first point of contact with any company. Had an incident with my new car where a rock hit the windshield while landscapers were attending to the lawn. The result, a two foot crack across the windshield! I was annoyed and immediately filed a claim via my insurance company's app. This was the first time I've had to file a claim for such a thing and the insurance company as well as Safelite made it a very quick and easy experience. I was able to set up my appointment in under 5 minutes and even had the option to modify my appointment as often as necessary. They were courteous with plenty of reminders and stayed true to the estimated time of service. I was in and out to drop off my car on a sunny Saturday morning within 10 minutes as two very helpful Safelite employees checked me in and explained the process. I had something fly into my windshield on the LIE and I Google'd the closest repair shop. 10 minute drive and I got to Safelite. Gave them all of my info and they had my windshield in stock. I brought my car in at 11:00 they told me it would be ready in 1 - 1/2 hours and would call me when it's done. I just called after waiting 10 minutes on the phone the representative told me it was ready and I had asked why didn't they call me she came up with the excuse it was just done and I had another question and she just hung up the phone on me., the time is 2:10 I am sure the care was ready earlier I had some plans but know they are ruined? The worst customer service ever. Charles the technician is an incompetent liar and John the manager was nasty and unapologetic. Basically we were called liars when Charles decided not to show up for an appointment we had scheduled after wasting a complete day waiting for him to show up, and he lied about why he didn't show up saying we refused service. I have phone records proving this untrue. John as well handled this disgustingly, basically calling us liars as well. Do not use this branch of Safelite, you will be treated horribly!! read more

The worst service ever...kind of ironic because they called and emailed me confirming my appointment three different times. I waited around all day because appointment was between 12-5. I had my car in the road for them and and my front door wide open. At 3:18 I had a missed call from the. I called them back at ten minutes later at 3:28 and was told Jairo, the safelite technician who had emailed me confirming my appointment that morning, tried calling me and since there was no answer he went home. Never came to my house, never left a message...he just went home. They said I would have to reschedule my appointment. What a joke of a business..... wish I would have seen all these bad reviews sooner. Went to "On the Spot Glass"... they actually did show up, installed new windshield the next day for me.
