The technician came out to complete a fix on the chip on my windshield. Upon attempting to fix the chip, the technician cracked the windshield beyond repair. The shop then stated that I was responsible to pay for the replacement of the windshield due to the technician breaking the windshield. My most recent claim was to replace a windshield from an event on February 13, 2025 The pillar on the Driver Side was significantly damaged by the same object that shattered my windshield. My car was quite dirty at the time and I did not note the significant damage to the pillar. A photo is attached to support my claim. Got a chip on my windshield, set up an appointment at 4:00 p.m. to get it repaired. The website says on it that any chip under 6in should be no problem. Well, unfortunately, I went to the worst glass repair place in Wisconsin. They bring the car in, and an hour later, right before they are supposed to close, they roll the car out and say this is the best we can do here, ya go. They let it leave looking like the picture I provided. It looks like they just put some Bondo in the middle and said here ya go. They said they rectified it because they didn't make us pay for it. Now I don't have a choice but to get it replaced. If I went anywhere else, they would have gotten it done no problem. They supposedly put three cycles of resin in the crack because it was so deep and so much material was missing, and that's why it looks like crap. That is such crap and what the real reasons were that they were trying to run out of the building as fast as they could at 5:00 p.m. That or they just want to waste a couple of bucks of resin so that they can get the big dollar ticket of a full windshield . When I brought up my issue with the manager, she was more than happy to get me a new windshield for the full price.She also said it wasn't their fault about the quality of the job and it was because of the chip. I said that was garbage and if they were anything they could do to help with a new windshield, and they just laughed and said " nope" and went back to be a record player of why it wasn't their fault and that they could happily get me a new windshield for the full price. I would leave a zero-star review if I could because now I have spent $200-300 more than I should have to because of a business doing crappy work and not caring about the people that pay their paycheck. Horrible Service. Technician Nicholas installed a replacement drivers side window and in the process damaged my door handle cable without informing me. For days my door would not latch properly if at all. Hours on the phone with Safelite resulted in a "we install glass not door parts, how could we have broken it". After taking it to a repair shop it was discovered that Nicholas broke a plastic piece of the door cable when removing the interior door panel. He then put it back in and held it in place with purple tape and never said anything to me about his error. Being honest and upfront with me about what happened could have prevented countless hours of lost time on my part and a much smaller repair bill. *Do not trust safelite with any repair unless you are watching them like a hawk. Do not leave them on their own so people like Nicholas can lie about any damage that may take place. read more

This place would get no stars if yelp would let me. The last time I scheduled with them they called me during the appointment window to tell me they had no techs available to come do my glass repair but if I came in they could do it. I went in and it went ok. Today I get a call 30 minutes before my appointment (they called yesterday to confirm my allotment!) to ask if I had a rubber gasket on the inside of my windshield. Now they tel me they can't get that gasket and if I could source it to re-schedule my appointment and they will come do it then. I scheduled this a week ago, they called the day before to confirm, and 30 minutes before my appointment they just realized they don't have a very necessary part to complete the job.. this place is horrible and honestly should have their business shut down. I will never go to this location again and if you have a choice spend the extra time and go to another location. I will be filing a complaint with safelite corporate for sure! read more

Had two cars that needed glass. One needed a windshield and one needed a rear windshield (both got vandalized). So we scheduled for safelite to come out between 12-5, they showed up at 11 am & called one time. No one was available at 11 besides my disabled mother who saw them through the doorbell camera- they left within 1 minute of pulling up to our house so she wasnt even able to get to them. Fast forward- we call our tech (Nicholas) and he said he ended his prior job early so showed up an hour ahead of time. Not even a call to give a heads up. Said hed call his manager to see if he could come back, claimed his manager said "once we pull up and drive off we are done with the job" something to that effect. I don't understand this level of poor customer service. This felt like a really crappy start to our day. Hung up, got on the phone with a woman named Erica and she was an amazing, huge help. She took all my info and empathized a lot with the situation, made some calls & got the techs here pretty much immediately. The bad review has nothing to do with the service I received from her- just the tech/s. and honestly the glass looks great. I have a 2023 Chevy ZR2 Silverado, very limited edition. Even though a OEM windshield was asked for and the insurance company shoved safelite down my throat as a "great company" they put a generic made in china windshield when I called them about the hood, their corporate, and my insurance vendor they all stated I should pound sand and they will do nothing about the generic windshield on my truck. They do not care about anything including the value of my vehicle which seems to be a trend on this board. I was told if I want to pay another $ 500.00 deductible they will replace with a OEM HOOD. SAFELITE SCRATCHED MY CAR VERY BAD!!! There was an inspection done by the police, prior to dropping off my vehicle to safelite. There were no damages/scratches on the body of the car, the only damage visible was the windshield. When I dropped off the vehicle to Safelite it needed a replacement windshield and the camera required a recalibration. They fixed it, and I picked my car up, when I got home I noticed scratches on the passenger side. I called safelite and the lady on the phone told me the scratches were already on the car, and the technician took a photo. I advised her of the inspection prior to drop off, and the scratches were in fact not on the vehicle. I requested all photos of my car with timestamps. She emailed me 1 photo of the scratches on the passenger side with a timestamp of 08/21/23 @12:08PM. Safelite sends live text and email updates of the repair process. I received a text on 08/21/23 at 11:02AM "YOUR REPLACEMENT SERVICE HAS STARTED" This confirms the technician took the photo of the damage a hour after he worked on my car. I received another update at 12:28pm "WE ARE WRAPPING UP YOUR RECALIBRATION" And finally the last update stating "TO ALLOW ADHESIVE TO SET PROPERLY YOUR TECHNICIAN HAS CALCULATED THE SAFE DRIVE-AWAY TIME TO BE 12:50PM" With that being said, the technician took the photo over a hour after the repair process started and 20 minutes before "wrapping up the recalibration to the camera" The scratches are all parallel to each other, located on the front passenger door. The scratches are all 9 inches above the rocker panel. There is a scratch 2 inches long then there is about 6 inches in-between to the 2nd set of scratches which are 2 inches long each. With another space in-between of about 6 inches to the 3rd scratch which is 4 inches long. All scratches running parallel to each other, with a total width of 18-20 inches from beginning to end. I am angry and dissatisfied! Big time! I have had a windshield replaced by SAFELITE. That service went well. At their specific prompting, I allowed my wiper blades to be replaced, on the understanding that I could get them replaced in six months due to the reason that most wiper blades get replaced or should get replaced -- sun and ice and other weather conditions, road salt, wear from normal use, etc., causing them to weather and become less effective with time and use. Just finished talking with a SAFELITE representative who informs me that the blades have to be "defective" or actually "fail" before I can get SAFELITE to replace them -- usual wear doesn't count! (So what's the point?!) That is not how this provision was represented to me when I got the new windshield. I am plenty irritated, and the fact that I had to go to "AI hell" and back before being able to speak to a representative or any other human being doesn't help. I am a textbook case of disgruntled customer. To their credit, the windshield replacement itself was done well and in a prompt manner. But the idiotic phone system that makes it an act of real determination (read: desperation!) before you can actually speak to someone at SAFELITE and the deceptive "selling" of the wiper blade replacement at the time that they were replacing the windshield (could have gotten new blades from a auto parts store and install them myself at a fraction of the price!) has left a bad enough taste in my mouth that IF I CAN HELP IT I would not -- NOT -- use SAFELITE's services again! I drove an hour to drop off my vehicle for a windshield replacement on a brand new SUV. The girl behind the counter was rude and not very helpful. The service was done in a timely manner, but not as advertised. The ads show the tech using gloves during installation. When I arrived home, we discovered palm prints on the inside of the windshield AND on the inside front driver and passenger windows. I called and talked to Quincee, who said they used gloves. When I called him out on his lie, he never even apologized. Instead, I was told to drive an hour each way to come back and have my windows cleaned. This is totally unacceptable customer service. We have a 2021 Highlander. We dropped it off in the morning. Went to pick it up the next day and the right front panel was scraped by something. We told them. They stated" yeah we notice that and took a picture of it." I asked them when they took the picture and they didn't answer. All they said is they weren't responsible for the damage. They didn't even say they were sorry. So my advice is if you take your car there, take pictures before hand. Not impressed with how they handled the situation. Had the windshield of our 2018 Kia Sorento fixed by a tech who came to our home and he fixed the chip and crack in the windshield. within days of the repair the windshield started cracking next to where he fixed it I went to the Safelite in Kenosha and they said that there was nothing to be done but replace the windshield, that their warranty does not cover. Crack is getting worse and called Safelite Help number and I am told the same thing that I would have to make a claim to my insurance company to get it replaced. What is their warranty good for if they can not fix it or at least offer to give something to defray the cost of a new windshield because apparently they did not fix the crack good enough. read more

Would never use this company again. Had a small, shallow chip in my windshield and did not want it to spread so I called Safelite. They came out to my house. The technician told me there was a possibility that while repairing, the windshield could crack. Magically, he cracked the entire windshield so I had to replace the entire thing. How convenient. They were able to replace windshield same day. The technician broke a tchotchke that I had on my dash. He didn't even say anything, like I would not notice. The clean up never happened. I had broken glass chunks all over the carpeting and in the door. I contacted the supervisor and got zero response. No apology for breaking my items and not cleaning up. He also took my car key and fob with him. He seemed irritated that he had to come back to drop it off. The chip was so small, next time I know I can buy my own epoxy from an auto supply store and fill it myself without ruining the whole windshield. Beware of poor customer service. It's not really about the windshield breaking. It's about poor clean up, breaking my personal items and not saying anything and lack of customer service (still no response to the real issues). read more

I came here after my car was broken into to have the passenger side window replaced. They were very prompt and professional. The employees were incredibly friendly and made sure I was able to make it in to pick up my car before they closed. I did have a couple of issues. One being that the window was broken on a Tuesday and they didn't have any appointments available until Thursday. Two days doesn't seem like much, but it is kind of a long time to go without a window during Wisconsin's December weather. The other issue is that sometime between the window being broken and the replacement being installed the handle to open the door became disconnected to it's internal mechanics. Now whenever anyone sits on that side of my car I have to open the door from the outside. Upon picking my car up it was mentioned that any future issues could be resolved by stopping back in, but I find it to be a inconvenience to me. This seems like something that would be part of the regular diagnostic check after completing window installation. read more

Got a call 15 minutes before 5pm saying that the window they were going to install had a defect and they would have to order another one. We have a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. The midgate cracked- shattered - when we turned on the defroster during our first cold snow. We were referred to Safelite by a Chevrolet dealer. They were able to get us the midgate at about half of the dealer price and deliver it to the Kenosha location. While discussing the price with the Safelite employee, my husband asked about installation and was told that it would cost about $60. The midgate is a window that is designed to be removed. It takes less than a minute to "install". He then asked if there was a reason to have them install it and was told there was none if we were certain we could do it. We arrived at the Kenosha location the next morning to pick up the midgate. The price was now $35 more than we were quoted and we were told there was no warranty unless they installed it and we paid the additional $60. The employee would not even discuss the fact that the price had gone up. She dismissed us completely. Now that we knew the warranty was good only with installation, she told us they were absolutely booked and the installation guy couldn't fit us in. We were willing to pay the $60 for the minute it takes to "install". We offered to go clean out the glass for the shattered window and come back for the "install" waiting for a break between cars. She was unwilling to even discuss it. We left and spent $4 at a nearby car wash vacuuming out the glass and then took about 45 seconds to "install" the new midgate. I am thankful that we purchased the piece for half of the dealer price, but I am appalled at how unwilling the clerk was to help us and how unfriendly she was about it. If she had told us that there was no warranty unless they installed it we would have made an appointment. I'm puzzled about the service we received. read more
