Bad quality work here on two windshield installs and permanent damage done to my dashboard. First install was so bad, it had to be redone. Windshield was sticking out - it was not flush with the bodywork on either side. They were going to let me drive off too, I had to ask to see a manager who could tell it needed to be redone. I'm grateful for the rental car Safelite provided for the 8 days the redo took, but I should not have had to go without my car for that long due to poor work in the first place. Photos attached are from the second install, which was slightly better than the first but is still not good quality. It's very clear that the windshield sticks out far more on the passenger side than it does the driver's side. On top of all this, Safelite left permanent scratches my tan dashboard during their install attempts. The manager assured me that the windshield has been tested and fits properly, but the appearance is extremely disappointing. This is the first one star review I've left in my life. Not only will I never use Safelite again, but I'm actively telling everyone I know that Safelite's install quality is to not be trusted. What imbeciles. Don't go here. First, they tell me the appointment will take one hour to recalibrate my windshield. I schedule the appointment to come in. I get there, they say it will take 2-3 hours. Then, after 20 minutes - they say it's all fixed! I ask them if they're sure it's been addressed and they assured me it had been (this is my SECOND time in three days asking them to fix the calibration error which they installed). Then after I left - within half an hour all these error messages come on saying it hasn't been calibrated correctly. I call their corporate office - been on hold for 40 minutes- they can't get a hold of them to schedule a new appointment. Unreal. read more

I used Safelite at 1788 S. La Cienega Blvd., West Los Angeles. A rock hit my right passenger window & put a small circular crack that later spread out like spider veins throughout the entire window. Their technician, Mike, replaced it in about 45 minutes. Service was quick, efficient, polite, & professional. The facility is clean, & is across the street from a large mini mall. This was the horse service I have ever received in my life! I had to replace a back windshield and front windshield because my car was broken into and my insurance company referred me to this place! I made an appointment days in advance- I probably got seven different reminders by phone text email and website about my appointment and to be early which I was. I showed up 20 minutes before my scheduled 3 PM appointment.. I waited for two hours before they took my car saying they were shortstaffed, it is now 7:30 PM and I'm still waiting for my car to be done almost 5 hours after I got here! There's almost no communication- nobody's updating me. In fact the office is empty and I'm sitting here by myself with zero information still. Got a windshield replaced on the Wife's 2015 Tacoma. Have used satellite multiple times through insurance for replacements and this was our second time with Oscar, he was the tech we got last year who did the job right and fixed all the water leak/air leaks we had on the original glass replacement, he was amazing to work with. Super kind and has great attention to detail. Got the windshield replaced fast and done right! Oscar is definitely one of their best Auto Glass Tech's in the Valley. Very disappointed with my experience with Safelite. I scheduled a mobile appointment for today between 1-5 PM. Around 3.5 hours later, I received a call that the appointment was being canceled. When I originally booked, Saturday appointments were available and offered to me, but I was later told they could no longer honor Saturday due to a "system glitch." Earlier in the same conversation, however, I was told those appointments had simply been booked by other customers, which raised obvious questions that were never really answered. As someone in the service business myself, I understand that mistakes happen. What was disappointing was the lack of ownership, concern, or effort to make things right. A simple courtesy discount or goodwill gesture would have gone a long way. To make matters worse, Daniel, the Los Angeles manager I spoke with, ended the call by hanging up on me. With Father's Day approaching and three young kids to drive around, being left without a solution was frustrating. I had Safelite out to my house and the first time the tech said my moon roof had a leak in the drain and water was visible in the car. Told me to get it checked out. I did and nobody found any leak or blockage. I rescheduled with Safelite and today they told me they can't do it because 3 years ago the rubber gasket cracked and I filled it in with a tub and tile caulk. This time they said because of that their glue might not work as well as it's supposed to. I now question how good they are. I'm not buying any of their excuses. I called them first because I thought they were good, my mistake. I told the first tech about my caulk job and he said that's no problem. This makes me wonder about their qualifications. They take care of EVERYTHING!!! Kristopher was the guy who came out to my house to fix my cracked windshield. A rock hit the windshield and the crack kept growing. Safelite took care of everything! ONLINE! It was easy and awesome. They even handled the insurance company for me. I spoke to an operator and she was kind and detailed about any questions I had. GREAT SERVICE! Kristopher came over within a day and started to change me out. I appreciate it. I just had to pay my deductible and they handled everything else. I took my Tesla to Safelite to have the windshield replaced. I had to drop it off first thing in the morning and leave it there all day. By the end of the day, they assured me the installation was "perfect" and even gave me certifications. The very next day, I realized it was installed incorrectly--there was a gap at the top of the windshield, and I could hear air whistling on the freeway. I had to bring the car back and leave it another full day while they redid the job. Because of their mistake, I had to pay for an additional rental car out of pocket. The most disappointing part: no apology, no accommodation, and no accountability for wasting our time and money. On top of that, they are very difficult to reach by phone--you keep getting routed to a central switchboard and it's nearly impossible to speak directly with the actual service location. Safelite wasted two full days of my time, cost me extra money, and failed to stand by their service. I do not recommend them. Don't take your Tesla here!! read more

Rotten Safelite wanted to quadruple the quoted rate. The terrible Safelite customer service people were nice but useless. They promised someone would call back. No one did. I called again. More promises, no follow-up from Safelite. If their work is as miserable as their follow-up, it's awful. Insanely high prices for giant hassles. After a few hours, I received a call from the technician that they made it crack. I've used Safelite in the past and never had an issue. This was the worse experience I've ever had with then. Then they tried to encourage me to use my insurance to fully replace the windshield. I do not recommend going here. read more

They have no knowledge about calibrating the cameras in newer vehicles. My vehicles dynamic system had to be turned off and all sorts of lights started coming on after they replaced my windshield. The warranty department is garbage, they tried to make me wait a week. After I got upset they squeezed me in then claimed they fixed the issue. Nope still mot calibrated correctly. They also didnt put the rubber seal on correctly and when told they said it was only for look anyway. They refuse to honor the warranty and now I am fighting with insurance and going to the dealer to properly calibrate the cameras and system on my Subaru. They overcharge for after market glass. A child could do better and put ignore effort. They are only about getting you in and out without a care. read more

BUYER BEWARE I just had a terrible experience with Safelite and will never call this company again. Not only did they waste my time and money on a failed installation, but they then tried to turn the table against me. Their systems are inadequate to provide accurate information and even though I decided to wait longer than their competitors were willing and able to provide faster service, when they showed up, they had the wrong product. They called me to verify my cars specifications and they still showed up with the wrong glass. I waited several days longer than I could have received service from other providers but went forward anyway. Big mistake. I had a bad experience with this company and when I asked to speak with the manager, she was rude, unprofessional and then tried to turn the problem towards me rather than try to resolve the problem they created. They went even further when I was frustrated and lied about how I was wrong instead of finding a solution. I highly recommend looking at any other option than Safelite. I was shocked about how they handled their mistake and then they told me that I should go to a company that provides OEM parts as they can't get the glass for my Porsche. They should have told me this at the start of my inquiry. This is a corporate conglomerate that doesn't care about the customer but more about their needs than the customer. It would be a big mistake to select Safelite over any other company. I have waited a week for help and now back to square one. I will never call them again and suggest you find ANY other solution. Be ready for rude employees and manager who don't seem to understand how to work with customers. I had a disappointing experience at this Safelite location, starting with the front desk staff. The woman at the front desk was condescending, which set a negative tone from the beginning. It's surprising that they would have someone like that as the first point of contact for customers. I had a 9:00 AM appointment and drove 50 minutes to get there, since Safelite's advertised mobile service apparently wasn't available for my repair. That's fine--I was prepared to go to the shop. However, due to heavier-than-expected LA traffic, I arrived at 9:25 AM. Instead of the originally quoted 2-3 hours for a full windshield replacement, I was suddenly told my car wouldn't be ready until the end of the day. I understand that being late can affect scheduling, and I certainly wasn't expecting to be prioritized over other customers. But it's hard to believe that a 25-minute delay would result in an estimated repair time jumping from 2-3 hours to 8-9 hours. If the technician assigned to my car had already started another job, that's understandable--but does every customer who arrives a bit late face this kind of extreme delay? To make matters worse, I tried calling ahead to notify them but could only reach a generic phone tree with no way to speak to a real person. This left me with two options: 1. Drop off my car, Uber 30-40 minutes home, then Uber back 45-50 minutes at the end of the day (easily costing $90+). 2. Sit in their waiting area for 8-9 hours. Neither of these are reasonable for what should have been a relatively quick repair. Plus I needed to go to work and I couldn't be doing it from their waiting room. I booked the appointment just the day before, and there were plenty of open time slots--so it's not like the shop was completely overbooked. Again, I understand that my delay meant I would have to wait longer, but an 8-9 hour turnaround for a job originally estimated at 2-3 hours feels excessive. Overall, the poor customer service and lack of flexibility left a bad impression. I won't be using this location again. Within 48 of getting a rock crack to the windshield I was in this Safelite location, super duper easy to schedule through Geico. I was able to call this specific Safelite location with questions before the appointment too and they were easy to deal with. I got to say all these negative Yelp reviews did affect me a bit at first, but I do also know that people can be genuinely crazy and come to Yelp as an outlet and they don't understand that they hurt us consumers because we could be missing out on a good business by avoiding it due to Yelp reviews. I recommend be more objective and less emotional. Wait a week and let ideas properly form before emitting random claims. These might be the same people that blow up on their spouses, children and coworkers the second something don't go their way. Every person in this store is super professional, including the manager, Robbie. All of the technicians looked like they were getting right down to business, there was no messing around, and I felt comfortable giving them my car to work on. Freddy did the work and at the end he came out to greet me and take payment. Wow, super professional and friendly and explained what he did on the Lexus. Thank you!!! Update - I forgot to mention I seen Robbie busy in the shop, and helping customers at the front desk, he was vigilant the whole three hours I was there. I seen a guy come in as a walk-in customer with a window regulator issue - Robbie pulled his car in and checked it himself and diagnosed it in ten minutes. Legit professional. Also the facilities are clean and well kept. Little details like this make a huge difference for me because my Mentor always taught me that people who are responsible in the small things will be responsible in the larger things. Shop looks clean, and the other facilities were clean, and the refreshments were well stocked and even nice disposable cups not the super-cheap plastic cups. Quality. I would give zero if I could. For my original appointment, the guy that came out, went to the wrong house or the wrong block or the wrong street or something, and never showed up at my place. When I called the shop the guy who answered the phone argued with me, he said that the guy was here. "He was definitely there, but he couldn't see the number on the house" even though it's in plain sight on the house, twice. OK so then I make an appointment at a different shop instead of having the guy come out and I drove all the way across LA in traffic, and hour and a half, and when I get there, four guys are all over the windshield looking at it and they proceed to tell me that since they don't know if there's rust beneath the seal that when they take the windshield out, they may not be able to put a new one in. Get a confirmation email and text of my appointment the day before, so im good. Nope! First thing is I walk in and the woman behind the counter starts right away with an attitude in asking my name. I tell her and she says "you dont have an appointment! I beg to differ and show her the confirmation text. She comes back with your appointment is still a week away. Come to find out "my glass never came in", the manager was supposed to call me but didnt. No apology, just more attitude, and then proceeds to get even more pissed because I can't keep the appointment that had been made for me without my knowledge. I think people who leave yelp reviews don't have lives, but the team at this Safelite was so efficient and went above and beyond I'll be one of those people today. I even had a little piece of siding peeling off the back widow trim of my Jeep for about 2 years, and they glued it down for me. They never told me but I realized about a week later.
