I had a rock hit my windshield last week again so I immediately called my insurance company and asked for Safelite to replace my windshield again. The guys there are really nice and I know they'll do great work on my Subaru Forester. However, yesterday I waited two hours before my car was even taken back into the shop, and the repair itself was then completed in about an hour. I was told the job itself would take about three hours total for replacement and recalibration, but I'm not sure if that was supposed to include me waiting for two hours before any service was completed. The tech also tried to convince me to just repair the old windshield after I thought I'd made it clear I wanted a new one. Please do better next time, guys. read more

I would strongly recommend staying away from Safelite AutoGlass in Lubbock. What started as terrible workmanship has now turned into a serious issue with accountability and Safelite's version of what happened. We had a $0 glass deductible through our insurance so we were anticipating a simple windshield repair at no additional cost to us. My husband had our vehicle serviced here on July 11. During the service, the technician (Hayden) cut the wires to our dash cam. My husband was NEVER warned that the wires were going to be cut, and he NEVER gave the technician permission or approval to cut them. Now that we are trying to get reimbursed for the replacement dash cam, Safelite is claiming that their technician (Hayden) warned us beforehand and that my husband approved cutting the wires. That is absolutely not how the interaction occurred. We are currently in the process of obtaining the Ring camera footage from the day of the service so we can document what was actually said and what happened. We are confident that the footage will show that my husband never gave the technician approval to cut the dash cam wires. If Safelite is going to claim otherwise to avoid responsibility, they should be prepared to provide their own documentation showing exactly when my husband supposedly gave that authorization. And somehow, the dash cam isn't even the worst part of this experience. The technician (Hayden) ALSO broke our rearview mirror during the original service. He later came back and attempted to repair it with glue. That repair failed, and the mirror broke again. We then had to go through Safelite's warranty process, only to find out that the mounting brackets are broken and the ENTIRE WINDSHIELD now has to be replaced again to properly repair the mirror. We also have to wait another two weeks for that replacement. After ONE service appointment, we have dealt with cut dash cam wiring, purchasing and installing a replacement dash cam, a broken rearview mirror, a failed glue repair, broken mounting brackets, another complete windshield replacement, weeks of inconvenience, and repeated attempts to get Safelite to reimburse us for damage that occurred during their service. What should have been a windshield replacement at no additional charge has turned into us paying hundreds of dollars for a careless technicians mistakes, as well as weeks of time and energy spent dealing with getting ahold of ANYBODY that will help us get reimbursed. The most frustrating part is how this is being handled now. Instead of simply taking responsibility and making the situation right, we are being told that my husband supposedly authorized something that he says never happened. Mistakes happen. Accidentally damaging something and taking responsibility for it is one thing. Damaging a customer's property and then later claiming the customer approved it when they dispute ever giving that approval is something entirely different. Based on both the workmanship and the way this situation has been handled afterward, I would absolutely not trust this Safelite location with our vehicle again. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this location document their entire interaction and think twice before handing over their keys. read more

We set up windshield service online, put in all the correct information, and received an email telling us the technician would be at our home at 8 AM. He never showed, never called, no new email....nothing. 5 hours after he was supposed to come, we called them wanting to know where he was. The call lasted 48 minutes with most of it being put on hold. They claimed that the office wasn't answering calls. They told us the technician had rescheduled, claiming he called and we didn't answer. Total lie. This is just a scam. You have to pay in order for the service to be set up. They take your money, pocket it, and don't show. They could contact us to let us know when to expect the technician to come but can't contact you when they take your money and run. No apologies, no refund, just we'll do it when we do it. Do not use them. They will rip you off. read more

After watching what my daughter and son-in-law have gone through with this Safelite location, I wouldn't trust them with my own vehicle. What should have been a routine windshield job resulted in cut dash cam wires, a broken rearview mirror, a failed attempt to repair it, and now another entire windshield replacement because the mounting brackets were damaged. What makes this especially frustrating is that all of this happened while they were dealing with the stress of moving their family from Texas to California with a 7-month-old baby. The last thing they needed was weeks of phone calls and problems caused by a windshield replacement. At this point, it's about the principle. Safelite is claiming my son-in-law gave permission to cut the dash cam wires, and he says that simply never happened. I've known this man for years. He's an Army veteran, a husband, and a father, and I know his character. I have absolutely no reason to believe he would lie over the cost of a dash cam. Mistakes happen. If your employee accidentally damages someone's property, admit it, apologize, and make it right. Don't make the customer fight for reimbursement and then try to shift responsibility onto them. This could have been resolved easily. Instead, Safelite has turned a relatively small issue into a matter of principle by refusing to take accountability. I am very unhappy with the service I received today. I believe the Tech was looking for a reason not to warranty my windshield. I went to the office and another Tech looked at the windshield and did not agree with the first Tech's assessment BUT he still found an unwarrantable issue. It seems to me that these guys are looking for any reason not to have to replace a windshield. I was not offered assistance in anyway. Went in for a small chip repair. 5 minutes into the "repair" the tech offers me a new windshield for $1100 because he cracked it worse. Unsurprisingly enough, the chip was more of a divot when I got back in the car. Customer service says it was "to no fault of our own" Take it to a dealership or a trusted mechanic. Had a real tiny star about 1/4" that wasn't causing any problems but decided to have it repaired so I wouldn't have to buy a windshield. Well it lasted about a week and cracked overnight with me not even driving it. They came to my house to replace a windshield for $353. Indicated after an hour I would have to go into the shop for a special tool they needed. I mistakenly arrived at 2:30 for a 2:00 appointment, confusing my appointment time. Six minutes later they indicated it would be over $1000 to repair but they would call "headquarters" to get the original price and call me after 2 the next day..... no call for 2 wks. I called customer service and they gave me a local number, said they would notify the shop to call as well. Local number takes you back to recordings with no human. No call from shop. I went in to repair two cracks covered by insurance. The first one went well. The second, the technician asked me if he should continue, even though there's a chance of spreading. I ignorantly said yes, and the technician continued, which resulted in a 10-inch crack in my front windshield. I'm upset the technician did not accurately assess the second crack and ask me questions before attempting to repair, such as "how old was the crack?" He asked me those questions after the crack spread. I do not know windshield repair, but I blindly placed my trust and faith in the professionals' hands here. The decision that determines Safelite's best quality of work should be decided by the professionals, not the customer. I would understand if there was a crack that couldn't be repaired. My insurance-covered repair job turned into a $950 windshield replacement out of my pocket. No financial assistance was provided by Safelite. Horrible experience here. Was scheduled to get my windshield replaced and had a standing appointment. When I got there they informed me they did not have the windshield so I wasted my time when they could have just called and told me to reschedule. 2nd time the EXACT SAME THING happened. Showed up with them saying they didn't have the windshield in stock and they would have to use the aftermarket kind. For the non aftermarket they wanted double the price of the windshield compared to the actual dealership. Wow. Horrible customer service and long wait time as well. Safelite replaced my broken windshield here in Lubbock Texas. They did an outstanding job in regards to the fit, form and placement of the new glass and surrounding trim however, they scratched the hood of my car during the glass install. I was instructed not to wash my vehicle for several days to give the sealant time to dry. Upon washing, I immediately noticed the scratches. I took my vehicle back to Safelite and the on-duty tech acknowledged the fresh damage and stated that he would have the store manager contact me. I waited a couple of weeks and never heard from the manager. I emailed their corporate office advising them of the problem and they too failed to respond. I was deeply disappointed with their failure to take responsibility for the damage they caused. I am currently disputing a portion of the credit card payment in order to have my vehicle repaired. I cannot dispute the quality of their workmanship but, if they damage your vehicle in the process, don't expect them to take responsibility for the damage they caused. read more

Had an appointment set. They sent several emails and texts confirming. Dropped car off and called uber, they called over and hour later and said they didn't have the glass. Wrecked my entire day but hey people make mistakes. Set up the other appointment. Dropped off at exactly at 8am. After paying the deductible I got in my vehicle and noticed the windshield was not oem Toyota glass. I went back in and asked why a cheap Chinese windshield was installed. I went in to see how much a rock repair would be. The last time I had one repaired, it was a $55 charge. That was just over a year ago. Which, by the way, failed. I ended up having to get the entire windshield replace for about $250 or something in that price range. Also, they were supposed to take the initial $55 off of the replacement windshield cost. That never happened, so in essence, they charged me for the repair AND the new windshield. Fast forward back to today. Went to have another chip repaired on a different vehicle. The charge to get it done? $108. $108!!!!!!! It was only $275 for an entire new windshield!!! What a f...ing joke!!!! Nothing like completely SCREWING your customer base over to do something that takes 15 minutes and has about $3 worth of material. How utterly pathetic!!! So, I leave, go to my car, and google windshield repair in my area. The first one I come to is On the Rock Chip Repair. Call the guy up. One rock chip repair is $40. So 37% of what Safelite is going to charge, and get the EXACT same service, EXCEPT that with this guy, HE COMES TO YOU AND DOES IT!!!!!!!! Holy hell, why would ANYONE ever go to safelite again, other than if you need a complete new windshield!?!? I for one will NEVER AGAIN go to safelite unless I need a new windshield. And maybe not even then. My guess is that there are places that will do it for the same amount, or thereabout. I was able to schedule my appointment easily online. I choose an appointment within a week from the day of scheduling. They initially told me it would take 1-1.5 hours to trade out my front window with a new one, but it ended up only taking them 45 minutes! It looks great! They also had a $50 off special during the time I went, making the total windshield replacement, labor, and tax less than $217! I would definitely recommend them and go there again if needed (though I hope I don't have to). read more

Brief story time. I took my truck in for a quick chip repair and came out with $1300 worth of damage. Because their drivers don't know how to drive. I've had my truck for 6 months the first person I let drive wreck k it driving into a shop to fix my windshield. Got sent to a body shop that has yet till today contacted me. Tony is probably the worse manager I've been trying to get a hold of. The company that suppose to pay for damn said it was only $800 of damage. My whole front in was dented and looks weird now. I try contacting the main office they send me to another guy. Helpful. But since July my truck has yet to be fixed. The guy that answers the phone has a "IDGF" adittude I went in for $100 chip repair. I would hire a lawyer and fight it but I probably lose more money than gaining to repair damages. But because I'm a girl they are probably just gonna continue giving me the runaround until I give up. Never again! read more

Their communications methods really suck! I went online to schedule an appt in Lubbock. There are 2 Safelite shops there. The 1st shop near my home initially showed no appts available on Friday , so I checked out the 2nd shop. When I hit the back arrow on my computer, suddenly there were several appoints available for Friday this week (and yes, the Friday that I wanted that didn't have anything available previously), so I selected one. Then I tried to make an appointment for my 2nd car and this time, no appts available for Friday. So, I tried to call the shop--I highly recommend that you never attempt this. The automated phone system is INFURIATING!!! So I went back to website to chat--you can never get thru to the shop, so don't try. I found a real person online relatively quickly, but they were useless for my problem, basically told me my problem couldn't possibly exist. I canceled my 1st appt and am going elsewhere. I don't tolerate poor customer service and will never try Safelite again! They may install windshields ok, but getting there with special circumstances is impossible. read more

A wayward rock was flung up into my 2020 RAV4 SUV windshield by a wayward diesel a week ago on a road trip from WA to TX. It chipped deeply at the bottom center of my windshield by my wipers and the edge of my hood. Within 30 minutes a crack grew up thru the center of my windshield. I called my insurance agent when I arrived in TX. They suggested Safelite. I was scheduled the next morning here in Lubbock to get it replaced. They were amazing at Safelite. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, worked amazingly with my insurance company. They had the job completed and my window/cameras recalibrated within 2 hours. All I owed was a small deductible!!! Had to wait three weeks for my appointment after being rescheduled 3-4 times to have the windshield of my 2015 Expedition replaced. The shop opens at 8 my appointment was at 10:30. Safelite didn't realize or inform me that the glass was STILL not in stock until 10:50. This was a horrible experience. The clerk offered no alternate solution. I needed the glass replaced before the holidays. In the three weeks I was waiting, I could have had a more reliable shop in town do the replacement. read more

Had my windshield replaced for the third time due to big crack (not their fault) at the same place but this time installation did not go as well. Problems with its location an moldings. Talked with Tim, the general manager, who is extremely amiable and wants to provide good customer service. I brought it back, ALL problems resolved in a fast and friendly manner. While driving through Texas in December I got a chip in my windshield that turned into a crack. I took my car in to a Safelite auto glass location in Lubbock. However they did not have a technician working that day and sent me to another location across town. When I got there, one of the front desk receptionists came outside to look at my windshield. She said the crack was bigger than a credit card, and hence couldn't be filled. I showed her a different crack in my windshield that had been fixed with resin a year before that was doing just fine. The new crack was smaller than that one, and I just want to get it fixed and be on my way. She refused citing that it was just Safelite's "policy" that they wouldn't fill cracks that big. I would have to have the entire windshield replaced for $300, and they wouldn't even be able to get to it until the following Tuesday (4 days away). That simply wasn't going to work. Fortunately, as I was driving away I saw a magic glass location just a few blocks away. They fixed the crack with no hassle in about 15 minutes. When I told them I almost had to replace the whole windshield for $300, they told me Safelite almost took me for a ride. A windshield like mine shouldn't be over $200 to replace. I no longer trust Safelite. Please do not take your car to these shysters. read more

I had my windshield replaced about a month and half ago. They scheduled mobile service for me but called right before they were supposed to be there to tell me they overbooked. Once I finally got the windshield in it didn't last a month and was already broken. I called them and they refuse to help or even call me back. They use poor quality windshields and the so called "warranty" is bogus. I will NEVER use safelite again. Avoid the headaches and get a factory replacement. read more
