Customer service to resolve a minor repair issue has been abysmal. I have called the customer service number...it takes you to an AI assistant. When you ask to speak with a person it says it is transferring you and then no one ever picks up. It also tells you to go to the website. When you go to the website it gives you an 800 number to call or text. When you text, it gives you an 866 number to text. When you text the 866 number, it replies with "an agent will be with you shortly" and that's it...no one (or bot) ever responds to additional messages. Tried to report on the website but get an error message "Oops. Problem on our end. Try again later." I just need my windshield wiper fluid line hooked back up. Have used them previously with no problems, but can see if you have ANY issue, it is impossible to speak with a live human being unless you drive to the physical establishment. read more

I have an older ford pickup. The back glass is broken. I called safelite. Told them what i needed replaced. I was quoted $214 for the glass and installed. Cool so i set an appointment for 3 days later. The day before the appointment i received a call from safelite and they more than doubled the cost to $457 and did not explain why the safelite auto glass in manning South Carolina was supposed to do the work but i canceled the appointment due to the unexplained increase in the cost. Ill not do business with a company that increase the bill at the last minute or one that doubles the bill with out telling me why. read more

Horrible, sloppy work. They did not seal the windshield in properly. When it rains it will leak. They pulled my camera wires out and left it hanging on the side. It need to be redone properly. The rain will leak in. read more

I have never been treated worse in my life by any business or individual. Please utilize the Safelite on Dorchester Road if you are in this area. The white female store manager, with glasses and frizzy gray hair, calls me exactly at my appointment time inquiring where I was. I advised her I was only 1.6 miles away and had got caught behind a light that was out on Johns Island causing traffic to back up. Then since she interrupted my navigating system with the call to my cell, I had to call back for directions. She wasn't sure she was not from there. She tells me she has NEVER been 15 minutes late before and they will have to have my car all day. I get there at 0815 and I am the only one in the store. There is no paperwork out or ready. She and a short white young man with frizzy peach fuzz mustache, try to tell me I was sent an email stating I had to be there 15 minutes early and immediately try and convince me to reschedule. I insist they take my car in as I was the only one there then she gets the young man to go get 2 other technicians from the back to ESCORT me out. i explained I was a disabled Veteran and working in Law Enforcement and the young man says, "You do that and are acting like this" To which I reply, "I've had Safelite not show up at my house and my work before without calling and cancelling. One of the two, younger black men approached me like a bouncer in a club and holds the door open. They could have easily taken my car in, and I would have waited, walked to eat somewhere nearby, or Ubered back and forth from home. So, I had to call progressive and get the windshield replacement at the Dorchester Road location on Tuesday after Memorial Day. I had to take time off work again and get a friend to drop me off then Uber back from work later. Of course, I have called their corporate office and plan to file a complaint with the BBB if I don't receive at least an apology or free wiper replacements for today's appointment. The bottom line is, don't go to this location and heed the warnings of the other negative reviews they have received. They have a 3.5 rating out of 5 and I can see why. The Safelite Corporation needs to review any audio and video they have of this incident and contact me immediately. I recommend they find a new store manager and reprimand all involved. read more

Driving across the Ravenel Bridge on New Year's Day to 'meet and greet our new rescue furkid,' we actually brought in the New Year with a ping and a crack in my windshield. Ugh! Safeco, our insurance carrier, was wonderful. They quickly set up the appointment at a Safelite location which was conveniently located near our home. When I arrived, what I thought was to be a simple repair, turned into a replacement. Again, Safeco was quick to change the claim. Further, my 2021 Kia K5 requires a special windshield that needed to be calibrated which precluded the job done at my home. A week later, I received a call that my new windshield was in. There were several large chairs so I could sit outside and a really clean restroom, always a good thing. The 2 1/2 hours went by in a flash. Everyone was no nice. The plus side is that they do stand by their service guarantee. The down side is having to force them to pay for over $3,000 worth of upholstery replacement because the windshield they installed leaked and damaged my carpeting beyond repair. The expense of a rental car while that was being repaired was not cheap - nor was it reimbursed. Beware and have the job double checked if you use them. Stopped into this place today to get my rear view mirror re-attached to my windshield. Worst service ever! Both times I have tried to have my windshield repaired, they have had to reschedule my appointment because they didn't have the right parts. Then they didn't have the right moulding strip and had to order it. Then the rearview mirror fell off as I was driving home. No clue what is going on over there, but when you make an appointment and wait three weeks, they should have all the parts ready to go. read more

I was referred to safelite by USAA for a standard window replacement. It was the 3rd window replacement for the vehicle. The technicians came to my house and it was raining so I let them work in my garage. The technicians' cracked the pillar molding both sides for the car. Very expensive. When I called them out I was told they had trouble removing the molding. I was told that the window installer prior to them working on my car was at fault for the broken molding? If I knew they were going to do damage to my car I would have told them to STOP! ? My car has leaked from the time they touched my car. The damage claim was turned down my the manager because he said his technician's told him the molding was broken before they started. I can accept being turned down for a warranty claim what's new. Safelite is a business partner with this USAA so they have plenty of business without any consequence for poor customer service. The absolute arrogant attitude by the manager was what made my blood boil. He lied to my face as to who did the damage and how it occurred and believed he was right. Windshield replacement is an insurance racket and these guys are riding the wave. read more

Be careful when considering this company. Their prices have increased exponentially. I paid them $70 to have a stone chip repaired in my windshield last February 2022. Now (Sept 2022) they quoted $139 for a similar repair. One of their competitors quoted a price of $75, came to our house the same day and did an excellent job. Safelite spends a lot of money on advertising and apparently expects their customers to pay for it. read more

Hi : I wanted to follow up on my visit today to have my windshield redone after a previous attempted repair by your mobile crew. I received a call from Michael who was very eager to resolve my issue. After looking at pictures, he determined that it was best to come into the Safelite location to fix it correctly. He told me to arrive at 9 AM today and his crew would be outside waiting. Well, he wasn't kidding ! I was greeted by Jason in the parking lot, who did a quick reinspection of the issue and promptly took my car into the service bay to start work. Before starting, he explained what he saw was the issue and how he would fix it. I observed not only how the "back office" (AKA service area) works, but I was impressed with the front desk team. Here is what I noticed: They greeted inbound customers in a very friendly and efficient manner Their communication among all of their team was impressive They handled inbound calls very efficiently. Their work flow process was very efficient. Waiting area and outside area was clean and inviting. People picking up vehicles seemed pleased with the on time delivery of their repaired cars. Being a business owner, I admired (and envied) their entire team for how they operated. The outcome of this service effort exceeded my expectations and I will spread the news ! I took a jeep to have cracks repaired in windshield and repair was done , a few days later the cracks started again. I tried to call the shop and there is no number to talk to a person. finally I got a safelite person on phone who put me in touch with Michael at Mt Pleasant shop on Stewart Engles Blvd . Michael had an attitude directly with me from the start. I pointed out that the windshield was not even cleaned , he said it was at the spot of the repair ,in a rude tone of voice. It's to obvious that Michael may need some senseativity training dealing with customers. He talked over me and said you got to talk now he is talking. After looking at the comments that other customers said, it all makes sense to me. As I was waiting a customer walked in and pointed out her wipers were not replaced and she paid for them and she was in a bad rain storm that she didn't feel safe in. It seems as we the customer are always thier problems. I now have to wait for a schedule that works for them. All in all it's pretty sad now a days when a customer service person does not conduct themselves in a polite courteous manner. Has anyone else ran into the same, please comment. I would like to think that Michael was just having a bad day. Ok , so now the windshield was going to be replaced. The guy came out to our home and replaced the windshield. As far as I can see it was finished within the hour. After looking at the windshield and getting inside the jeep, the dash board was filled with debris and bits of stuff to from cutting the old one out.
