I just got my window fixed by Ramon. It was a small chip with four "legs"- like a cross. I was so upset because the car is only 3 months old and we tinted it with crystalline tint. It happened 2 nights ago. Well Ramon came and fixed it! I can deal with a little "gray spot". Soooooo much better than seeing a crack with four legs!!! He was polite, courteous, quick and got the job done! I read some bad reviews and was nervous about the whole thing but I just wanted to write a review because my experience was great. I was unlucky today as a pretty big pebble/rock decided to come off a construction truck in front me on the fwy, and I got a moon-shape crack around the size of a golf ball on my windshield. I didn't know who to call, but I found Safelite from yelp website so I filled out an online quote which came out to $130 for the repair. It's great because the repairman, Jesus, came to my workplace to fix my car on-site. State Farm has a deal with them so I only had to pay $50 (cash, credit card, or check all OK). Twenty minutes later, I can barely see the crack, and he cleaned up the windshield and vacuumed my floor. I highly recommend calling Safelite for auto glass repair. If you wait and drive your car around, the crack will spread, and instead of a $100 repair, it will cost you A LOT to replace the windshield (which happened to my friend). I feel so happy that the crack is barely visible; it also has a lifetime guarantee. Yay! Now I can enjoy the weekend without worrying :) read more

I ordered a replacement windshield from here. The day of my appointment, they called and said the windshield they received is cracked and needed to order a new one. Fine. It happens. Rescheduled. The day of the appointment, I received another phone call from Safelite. The windshield they received was cracked again. Need to reschedule. One time, I can understand but a second time?!?!?! Their tech, "Junior" evaluated my new crack and said it didn't go all the way through and would not spread, but filled it anyway for free. He deserves some positive feedback. Good job. read more

Made an appointment through my insurance to get a repair and could only get a mobile unit to come out the following Saturday. Maybe 4-5 days after making the call, luckily the damage was small so I was willing to wait. However, I got a call that morning that the technician assigned to come out and repair my windshield had fallen ill and wouldn't be able to arrive. He must be the only technician working for the damn place because even though THEY canceled my appointment I wouldn't be able to get anyone else to come out to me until the following Wednesday. The woman I was speaking to on the phone definitely had an attitude when I asked for a manager.. but she claimed to be the only person on site I was able to talk to. For a company who's commercials make it seem like they're all about customer service and helping you out as soon as possible, they don't show those qualities in real life. ZERO STARS FOR ZERO SERVICE - Called and got an automated answering system that would not let me talk to a real person, no matter the option I chose, no matter what I requested. It simply wanted to schedule an appointment, nothing else. It asked me to state what I wanted, so I said "Let me talk to a representative" Then it just said "Thank you for calling Satellite Autoglass, goodbye", and hung up on me. I needed to speak with someone to discuss work I need done that is not a standard installation. They just lost my business... I have used other locations of Safelite and have always had pretty good experiences. This time was the exact opposite. We had a 10 am appointment and were told it may take up to 2 hours as they were running a little behind. Rather than sit in the rather small, crowded lobby, we said we'd go for a walk and asked them to call when ready. As the hours passed, we called 3 times to ask the status. Each time we were told 5 or 10 minutes. Another hour would pass and we would be told the same thing. When asked if it would really be 5 minutes the third time, the receptionist hung up on us. They have now had our car for over 5 hours. Since it is our only vehicle, we had to cancel plans for our day off from work. I only hope we get our car back at some point (still waiting) and that the technicians do a better job at the repair than they do with customer service. read more

I have been very unlucky with my car lately and with that being said, I had a crack in my windshield that was spreading as the days went on with the heat. I decided to go with Safelite to replace my whole windshield. I gave them all my information and scheduled my appointment. The good thing is that you have the option to either go to them or they will come to you. Since I work and have 2 kids they came to me. -First appointment, they arrived and realized they ordered the wrong windshield. No biggy, rescheduled the appointment. -Second appointment: Tech came and replaced the windshield and the windshield cracked on him. Claims this has not happened to him in a very long time. Had to drive a week with a cracked windshield. Rescheduled and reordered a new windshield. -Third appointment: New windshield was replaced but the tech broke my black plastic rear view mirror piece that covers the wires. At this point, I am getting frustrated but I kept it cool. Was told they were going to call the dealership and order the piece. Rescheduled. Now I'm driving with a new windshield with no plastic piece. Fourth appointment: New tech comes and sees that I have a new windshield. I tell him yes, its been replaced but one of the techs broke my plastic piece. He told me he was not aware and they sent him out to replace my windshield. Told him I just needed the plastic piece. He asks me where the piece is, I tell him the tech who broke it took it with him so he knows what to order. Appointment rescheduled. 5th appointment: Same scenario as the fourth appointment and now I am frustrated. I tell them you guys need to leave notes and stop wasting my time. Every appointment is a different tech. They apologize every time stating that they were sent out to replace a windshield and not a plastic piece. Appointment rescheduled and til this day the issue that they put upon themselves is not resolved. I am still waiting for the plastic piece. 6th appointment: Tech calls me before upon arrival. I specifically tell him, Do not come with a windshield, I just need you to replace my plastic piece that you guys broke. He makes some calls and returns my phone call stating that they cannot just replace the plastic piece. They have to order the whole windshield with the plastic piece. They could have made the call the first time and this would have been avoided. I asked for their manager/supervisors name: Eric G. and the tech was hesitant to give it to me. Till this day, I am driving without my plastic piece. This all happened within a month. I do not recommend this company. They do not communicate with each other. It is very frustrating. They just send new techs out assuming that they know the situation. Never again! read more

Got a small crack on the corner right of my 2018 Toyota Prius, within 2 days, it spread quick. Call GEICO, my insurance and Safelite in Pasadena was their choice for me. Was worried after I did a little Yelp and Google reviews but called in to double check and spoke to the New Manager there name Chris. It appears who ever manage the Pasadena location before October 2020, didn't care, which leads to poor customer service and poor workmanship. Chris is the new manager and my worries were gone when I took my car there. There service was great. They go the correct replacement windshield and it fit perfectly. They also recalibrate the camera my car has for the windshield. The installer I had did a great job to carefully remove the old windshield and install the new one. He even removed the old dash camera mounts on my old windshield, that I forgot to mention to them about. Their price appears to be fair. GEICO doesn't do OEM, only aftermarket parts and so far I have no issues as of yet. OEM would of cost me $1,800, aftermarket was about under $600 (parts and labor). I wish this new manager and crew the best and hope they will continue to provide the best service they can and make Pasadena proud and #1 in SoCal. read more

Made an appointment to have my windshield replaced a couple weeks ago, and I was disappointed when they told me it would take over an hour and a half to replace, as I was on my lunch. One of the employees overheard my dismay and said, "Nah, I can get it done in a half hour, I am all caught up". I was in an and in under an hour, and while I was waiting, they made sure I was comfortable. "Would you like coffee? Water? Would you like the A/C turned on?". All around, great customer service. Wow! I cannot say enough good things about my mobile service today! My windshield was hit with a huge rock and got a gnarly star shaped break in the upper area. I made an appointment with Safelite - I wasn't even aware I knew about them, but somehow their song came into my brain the second I saw their logo.. I was able to be seen next day. Awesome. Dennis Gallindo showed up on time and got right to work. While the windshield was hooked up to his machine he washed my windows and vacuumed my car - and you may say that's part of their service, sure, but it was still nice. Dennis does his job with pride. Dennis made sure to ask us if we were members of any affiliates that would qualify us for a discount (AAA, etc...) and we were, so we saved some money unexpectedly. That was also a nice surprise. Dennis was prompt, polite and efficient. He made sure to remind me that if I should need a full window replacement in the future that the money I spent today would go toward that purchase - also something I didn't know. Overall, I felt Dennis went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you! The first time I used their service was when my car was broken into on Mother's Day, 2016. So my day did not start out well. They were not able to get to me right away but it all worked out. But I had an issue with the window they installed and set up an appointment to fix the problem. They HONOR their National Lifetime Warranty. Yes, it was inconvenient for me to take the time off work because they were very busy this past week. But they do a great job with highly-qualified employees. Don't go to the dealer, go to Safelite. These guys are very good at what they do and if they take longer than they quote you, deal with it because the work they do is more than satisfactory. Had a small crack and chip repaired by Safelite in Pasadena with the expectation that it would cosmetically look at least slightly better. After repair, there was absolutely no change in the size of the crack. I know they warn you of this in advance, but from what I read on different website reviews (from Safelite and other companies), most people have a significant improvement in the cosmetic appearance. There are a lot of other reviews from the Pasadena site with similar complaints. Maybe it's an issue with the repair technician there? read more

PLEASE! Read this review before even thinking of taking your near this place!! Honestly, just a terrible, terrible experience from start to finish. To explain, the windshield on our Honda got hit by a rock on the/ freeway and we needed to replace; Safelite says, okay, we need to order the windshield, we don't have it in stock, which is fine; we wait, and then they call us and tell us it's ready. I took the morning off work and drove there only to have them say, oh no, we mixed up the paperwork, the windshield we got in stock is promised to someone else, yours isn't ready... So we wait another 3 weeks, and this time, our actual windshield arrives. So I take off work again, and they say they are going to replace and then calibrate the windshield for us (the newer windshields have crash detection sensors and need to be calibrated). When I return to get my car, they say oh, well, we installed it, but couldn't calibrate it! Yeah, you need to go to dealership for that. At this point, we're really starting to regret taking the car here, but who knows, maybe its an honest mistake and they aren't set up to repair newer cars (not a great business model IMO, but fine, I'm sure lots of people have older cars that Safelite can (attempt) to fix. I say attempt because after scheduling a Saturday appointment at the dealership to calibrate my new windshield, I am told (after several hours) that whoever installed the windshield did it incorrectly and they cannot calibrate an incorrectly installed windshield!! At this point, having missed days from work, parts of my weekend, not to mention deductible and insurance costs, I still do not have a working windshield. From our experience, this is not a reputable company, perhaps for a rock chip or a scratch on your windshield they may be able to figure out a way not to completely bungle the job, but they are not a realistic option for someone who wants the work done right by competent, trained workers. If your going through insurance, take it to a real company that knows what they're doing, and if you're paying out of pocket, well maybe you'll save a few bucks, but the work will be done incorrectly, so not sure what you're really saving in the end. I went in to Safelite on 04-13-19 with a small chip in the center of my windshield, and a small 1/4 inch crack ran through the center of the chip. The associate at the desk had told me there was a small chance the crack could get worse, but this rarely happens. The tech who did the work on my window called me over to explain the crack had indeed gotten worse. I am not quoting the tech word for word, but the tech said " if we replaced every windshield we cracked, we'd be out of business". My issue is why do I have the associate at the front desk telling me that this rarely happens, and the tech is basically saying this happens all the time. I would rather have had the associate tell me the truth. Maybe I could have gotten away with that chip and crack with no issues. If he told me it is a 50/50 or 30/70 or whatever chance your crack might get worse and then there is nothing we can do, maybe I would have taken my chances. Now I am wondering what are the statistics? Of every 100 cars that come in with fixable chips/cracks, how many of those chips/cracks are made worse to the point it can't be filled, and now a new windshield is required. Also, you damaged my property. How are you held liable? I wish I read reviews before I had gone. I noticed a lot of other people had the same problem as I. Just a side note for any Safelite associates that read, or don't read, this posting. If you're planning to lie to your customers, make sure the techs and associates are on the same page, so you don't have the associate in the front saying something rarely happens, and the techs saying you'd be out of business it happens so much. Thank you for your reply Safelite associate. I do understand the process and the risks that are possible. What I don't understand is what I mentioned before. Why does an associate tell the customer that something rarely occurs, and a tech says it happens enough to put the company out of business. If the potential for the glass to break happens more than "rarely", then it should be said so to the customer. Maybe you guys could look at the percentage of breaks that occur due to your process, and then inform customers of that percentage, and don't tell someone it happens rarely. read more

When I dropped off my car at 11:00 at the Santa Ana location on July 13, I was told I would be updated throughout the process, called immediately when work was complete which would take roughly two or three hours. None of this occurred. I called at 3:10, after waiting on the phone for at least fifteen minutes, I learned my car was ready. I picked it up and the new windshield was dirty. Book an appointment with this company 10 days ago for a OEM windshield replacement. When I showed up on appointment date they were told they need the approval from insurance for replacement which they had more then a week to take care. Now I have to wait a few more days for them to get approval. Should they have all paper taking care before hand ?? I called my insurance company and said no ones call in to get approval. No longer recommended. This is my 3rd windshield in 10 years from Safelite. (Gotta quit following trucks on the freeway.) Carmello was my technician 2 previous times. Upon entering I recognized him and said "Hi! You're the guy that helped me twice before!" He responded "I don't know you." I said "I'm a repeat customer!" He said "I don't know you." And it was downhill from there. The Customer Advocate (her title should be in quotes) Stephani was very rude. I arrived early for my 3 pm appointment and she seemed irritated and inconvenienced that I was early. She said they'll text me when the car is done and they close at 5 pm. I got the text at 5:02 pm. When I called her to make sure they'd be open after 5 pm, she hung up on me. Their customer service is only for the thick-skinned and overly-tolerant. I won't return. I will no longer recommend. We called this morning for status and the lied to us by telling they left us message - which they didn't. They told us they don't have the part and they are having a difficult time getting it. NO COMMUNICATION - left us hanging. This is our only working car and I have medical appointments I held off on that I can't keep postponing. I do not recommend this company. I was surprised my insurance company referred them (Farmers) as you would think that if your insurance company suggested them, they would be good to work with. After glass was replaced, they had to return and adjust windshield wipers (banging against glass). Then while driving I noticed rear view mirror vibrated so badly, I could barely use it. I called and they said they would order a new one as it was most likely damaged due to an abrupt removal when replacing glass. I called...and called...and called, to try and get an update only to get a run around (part being ordered, etc). To this day, I have not heard from them. It has been months. The technicians were young and had no clue on customer service, quality of work or respect for the customer. My neighbor had similar issue when using this company. read more

So unfortunately some degenerate thug criminal broke the passenger window of my car and made off with my gym clothes. Apparently he thought there must have been a laptop in there but the universe punished his thieving ass by rewarding his crime with only used gym clothes. In trying to fix his mess I reached out to a few companies, including my car company's authorized dealer and another glass replacement place. The other glass replacement place didn't have the window for my car in stock. The dealer wanted to charge me almost $1,000. I called Safelite and they quoted me 1/4 of the dealer price, a little more than $250. I went in, broken glass everywhere, and let them do their job. The professionals here were courteous, fast, and did a better job that I could have imagined. They even cleaned up all the glass shards. I can't recommend these guys enough. They were fast, efficient, and more than competitive with their prices. read more

I had to take my car to Safelite 3x's and they still didn't get it right. Finally, I had to request a refund so that I can take my car to another place and have the windshield properly installed. Safelite's mgr said that he received approval for a refund, but two weeks later I had to follow up because I never received any confirmation. Every time I called and went down to the location they had a different reason. I AM SO FRUSTRUATED AND THROUGH WITH THIS TYPE OF SERVICE.
