AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I called to get my windshield replaced after a rock chip. They said they'd send a guy over to replace it at my house. I wasted half of my Saturday waiting for the guy to come, only to tell me that they couldn't replace my windshield remotely and I would instead have to bring the car to the Pasadena shop. It turns out that this juicy bit of info was in their system all along, but the guy who scheduled my appointment was too lazy to read it. Anyway, the guy who came to my house called and scheduled me an appointment at the Pasadena shop for 8:00 am the next Saturday. The person at the shop clearly confirmed the appointment on the phone. He then told me to get there by 7:45 because they always open early and could get started right away. The next Saturday, I showed up at 7:45 and the shop was dark. The workers didn't show up until 8:15 and didn't even apologize for being late. When I got up to the counter I discovered that they forgot to order my new windshield and accidentally cancelled my appointment. OOPS! All told, I wasted half of one Saturday and woke up early the next weekend to drive 30 miles, wait 30 minutes, and drive 30 miles home, all with a still-cracked windshield. This company is 100% incompetent and I would sooner eat a shoe than let them anywhere near my car again. read more

I tried calling them to ensure the price. But everything directed me to their website. Which I indicated what I needed ( my back window replaced) they had no appointments in my area for over a week so I decided to book in Pasadena where I had to drive an hour and half away because I needed my window fixed. I prepaid and dropped it off at 8:30 am they told me it would be an all day thing but they will call me once it was done. They called me at 2:20pm telling me that the online quote was wrong and would cost me over $900 instead of $530. I asked if they could do it for cheaper since it's not my fault their website gave me the wrong quote and they had my car all day and just now decided to tell me it's going to be more. The manager said no they couldn't and that the price was firm to go through my insurance because it could be cheaper out of pocket. These people had zero customer service and only care about how much money they can get from insurance companies. Will never book here and won't recommend them to anyone. read more

I had a small chip in my front windshield repaired by Safelite in Pasadena. Kudos to the team for a job well done. I found making the reservation easy to do online and my car was serviced in only 40 minutes, which is precisely what I was told when I brought it in. While I was advised that there would likely be a visible mark on the window as the repair is intended to only improve the integrity of the windshield by preventing the chip from expanding, I was very happy with how much less noticeable the chip was following the repair. The whole service experience was quite positive. I took my car for a windshield crack. I waited awhile before getting my car back supposedly they needed to drive it around. A year went by but now the rubber on the front part of the windshield is coming off. I assume it maybe because they installed the glass too high . Because now the whole windshield is lifting from the bottom. They need to take their time and not rush. Because I'm now worried water can go inside my car. read more

My new Tesla had to get a rock chip repair done after a rock came flying in towards me on the freeway. I did my research, compared rates and received quotes from other auto glass repair places, but they didn't seem to have the right tools or the answers I needed. I assume Tesla glass has some sorcery and needs to be treated differently than other cars? Only the Great Elon knows. The staff at Safelite were great. The front desk is very polite and helpful. Junior repaired my glass and it looks better than I expected. After reading/watching the horror stories (and it being the first day of Mercury Retrograde) I was almost convinced I was going to get an entire windshield replacement. But I'm so glad I came here. Very disappointed. They said they would come replace my windshield today. But then this morning they said they can only replace the windshield if they can do the recalibration too. They charge $400 for recalibration. But the dealership only charges $200. So I had made an appointment for recalibration at the dealership. So Safelite won't replace the windshield now. Have a cracked windshield is no fun, but I knew safelight was nearby and they come to the house. Even better! I scheduled an apt to have our front windshield replaced, I paid extra for home service and then I paid even more to have the 1st apt of the day. My boyfriend took the morning off work to be there till I finished up some calls. Well the start time came and went, then an hour, then two hours. NOTHING. So I called to check - I was informed the person assigned to us called out sick (it was the day after a holiday ‍). She informed me someone could come later or they could reschedule for ANOTHER morning. The thing is we already took off work, but mostly they didn't even have the decency to call us. No fault to their repairman but horrible customer service. I ended up calling All Class Auto Glass, not only was the guy on time (and super quick and nice), they didn't charge us sales tax, they didn't charge us a delivery fee and the time window for arrival was much less. Win for us! Save yourself some money and time and go give them your business instead. read more

I came in to safelite curing COVID for a small rock chip on my windshield. I was able to easily make an appoint online and was very pleased when they took me on time! Upon my arrive they did a brief inspection of my chip and were honest about not being able to 'hide' it completely. After I gave them the 'go ahead' it was about a 35-45mn appointment. You could see all employees working on vehicles from their inside or outside waiting area. And when they finished they promptly let me know, charged my card, & sent me on my way. I was impressed with the customer service and all around service in general. Receipt was emailed so I never loose it, and if the chips spiders or comes back they often will credit that towards a new windshield. I would definitely bring my truck back to this location. read more

No one showed up for 1pm appointment and it is now 4:15pm. No voicemails, no emails even though I received a confirmation email immediately after booking. Customer service agent claims someone tried to call me because "I live in a gated community". I'm in Highland Park, not sure where the gated communities are here. My email and phone number were correct on the booking and I have received no correspondence from this shop. Spent 30+ minutes on the phone with customer service because they also can't get in touch with the shop. When you try calling them directly, no one answers and it tells you to book online and hangs up. I'm not sure how they operate if they don't even answer when their own customer service calls them, but good luck. read more

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Had a pebble strike create a small crack in the windshield. Just a couple lines the size of a dime. Seemed like a simple enough repair. When I arrived for my appointment the tech at the desk tells me I have to sign a waiver that says because Safelite uses a pressure technique they might actually break my windshield during the repair and if that happens it's not their fault. But of course they will be happy to repair it for me at an additional fee! That should've been my first clue to leave. Instead I let them do the repair which now looks worse than when I brought it in! I explained this to the tech and he went around and around about how every repair is different and they make no promises about what it's going to look like afterwards. I mean, I could've done as crappy of a job with a $15 repair kit from the auto parts store instead of wasting $130. In any case, you can't get in touch with customer service because the number on the website just hangs up on you. I did follow up with an email and received a phone call from someone -- but that number just redirects back to the local Safelite rather than an actual customer service center. In any case, heed my advice and either ask more questions before you follow through on a repair at this place or just go somewhere else. Waste of time and money. read more

I went in for my appointment to replace the windshield on my Audi A7 and they had ordered the wrong windshield for my car, in spite of me giving them my VIN and everything. The gentleman I interacted with at the La Cienega location was rude to me and did nothing to go out of his way to make things right, and would not expedite a new appointment for me. He said I'd have to wait a week and a half for an appointment, even though they could get the windshield in a couple days. He was able to get me into the Pasadena location within a week, so I opted for that even though it was more out of my way because it could be done there sooner. Originally I was told the appointed would take no more than three hours. When I got to the Pasadena location for my 1pm appointment, they told me it would be at least four hours, but they would have me out of there before they closed at 5pm. I came back at 4:45 and there were wires hanging out of the rain sensor compartment behind my windshield. I had to wait over an hour for them to finish. They had me wait till 6:00 pm, an hour past closing to finish my job because they were so overbooked. They also left smudges on the glass, which I made them re-clean. Then, when it started raining later that week my automatic windshield wipers weren't working. Took the car into Audi to see what was up. Turned out, Safelight they broke the cover for the rain sensor compartment during installation and didn't re-install the sensors correctly after installing the windshield. It is going to cost close to $300 to fix that with Audi. I will be contacting Safelight customer service before I have Audi repair this, because this was Safelight's mistake and they are the ones who need to make it right. Overall, I am very disappointed with this company and would not recommend them for a high tech windshield replacement. read more

If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Do not go to this location. I originally went in for a small chip that needed to be filled in my Tesla windshield. Their technicians cracked my windshield across half of it. They then gave me the car back and said, "it sometimes happens". Tough luck because now I'm paying thousands of dollars for a replacement, and they are not being held responsible for their misconduct. After going through insurance, they had me do the replacement at the same location (shame on me for giving them a second chance). The car was dropped off in the morning 9am, and they started the replacement almost immediately. I saw them pull it in and got notifications from my tesla app showing they were working on the car. I had to call at 430pm to check in on the car myself because it should have been done already when they said they were just doing the calibration. When I got to pick up my car, they said it was delayed further so I had to wait again. After noticing my car was gone, I asked where it was so I could go home. They then inform me that the car wasn't even there and that it was being driven around by the technician. This is the most unprofessional, incompetent locations and should have a formal investigation for malpractice. read more

The second time the windshield still wasn't fixed - the rubber on the side came off on the freeway when I was driving home. My windshield cracks and who's the first company I think to call? The one with the catchy, "Safelite Repair, Safelite Replace" slogan of course. Cool, I think. I've been hearing that slogan for years, randomly humming it to myself at the most random times, and I finally get to try them out. BIGGEST MISTAKE! More like "Safelite unfair, safelite deceit" (c) My first contact w/ this sham of a company was through their website where I was like okay, this is pretty easy so far. Give 'em some info about your car, the damage to your windshield and some contact info, and bada bing, bada boom, you've got a quote and day scheduled for them to come out to your house to replace your windshield. Great. The day is finally here. I took a day off work to make sure the technician would be able to get my keys and work on the car. Except, same morning, I get a call from Safelite, telling me that the windshield didn't arrive to the warehouse and they'll have to reschedule. These types of things happen, totally get it, so no big deal. We rescheduled. Fast forward to the reschedule date...took another day off work. Same story, yet again the warehouse didn't receive my windshield. Now a bit more frustrating and annoying since yet again I took time off work, inconvenienced myself to make sure I was available at the time we rescheduled for, only for Safelite to call me last minute and tell me they don't have the windshield again....This is probably where I should have just said screw it and cancelled with Safelite never to have to hum their stupid slogan again. Mistake on my end, I rescheduled yet again. The 3rd reschedule day gets here and I get a text that morning saying your Safelite tech is on the way. Great! The guy shows up, I give him my keys and goes through explaining how long its going to take, how much, yada yada yada. I leave him to it. About 10 minutes later I get a call from him asking me to come out. He explains that he has the wrong windshield because the rain sensor bracket is not the same on the windshield he brought over and it's because it's an aftermarket windshield. He tells me that we'll need to get the genuine VW windshield for it to work. He packs up and leaves and says I'll get a notification for when I'll be rescheduled for...the reschedule notification comes in and obviously at this point I'm pissed. The 4th reschedule comes, the guy shows up with this now supposedly genuine VW windshield. Hallelujah, I think. Goes through the process of telling me how long its going to take and then tells me the price....HOLD YOUR DAMN HORSES! Why is the price almost $150 more than my first quote? Well because this is a different windshield now....okaay, no one ever mentioned anything about a price change. He calls up his "manager" who proceeds to tell me she can offer $50 off. Fine, at this point I just want this nightmare to be over so let's just get it done, even though it's still more than my initial quote even after the discount of $50 they offered. I go back into the house. 10 minutes later the guy calls me to come outside....what now safelite repair tech? You dropped the new windshield? Aliens came and beamed up the windshield? Nope, the windshield had a chip in it, smack dab in the middle of the glass. Holy moly. On to reschedule number 5. FIVE! Reschedule 5 comes around. I'm meeting basically every safelite repair tech on their team at this point. What's up Andrew, you got my windshield? Goes through his spiel, and at then ends with, "at the end of this service, you'll pay $450 (something like that)." WHAT?? How and why did the price increase yet again. He tells me that it looks like they already discounted by $50, and this windshield is slightly different than the others. Wait, so this new, increased price is AFTER the $50 discount they had already offered?? My inner Karen comes out. "Let me speak to your manager" I say. He calls up Mr. Manager, Erik. I explain the situation (i.e. everything ya'll just read), to Erik. Erik tells me they've already discounted the price by $50, and the best they can do on top of that is remove the disposal and mobile fee which takes the price down another $45. Okay, yeah but my initial quote was already almost $150 less than what you guys are telling me I owe now, so if you're going to give me a discount, give the discount based off what I was originally quoted, and honor that price. Don't just keep increasing the price after each visit. Sorry, that's the best we can do, Erik says. Nope, not acceptable, I say. You guys already inconvenienced me all these different occasions, the price has increased randomly 2-3 times already, and all I'm asking is for you to honor the price I was first quoted considering I never knew the price was increasing until you guys showed up at my house. Sorry, Erik says. You've lost a customer I say and we part ways. PLEASE whatever you do, don't use Safelite. read more

I was referred to Safelite by an auto body shop because they said Safelite was supposed to be faster, even though it was over $500 more than the auto body shop. I paid Safelite in advance. They canceled my appointment with less than 24 hours notice and said they would call to reschedule. They never called. I've been trying to get through to the customer service number but it's all automated and I can't reach an actual person. read more

I came here to get a chip in my window fixed. I'm constantly on the road for work and this is the second time I've cracked a windshield. Luckily the crack had not spread. I came in on a whim without an appointment (although its best to make one) I think I lucked with an opening within the hour. Anyway Chris helped me out and he got me in and out of Safelite quickly and did a great job with my window. Chris was friendly, helpful and answered all of my questions. If this were to happen again, I'd go back and see him. read more

My car got broken into and two pieces of glass were broken. My insurance company works with Safelite, so I was sent here. They had one of the pieces of glass that I needed, but needed to order a small piece of vent glass. So I waited for a week for the vent glass to come in and when the technician came, we discovered that the wrong vent glass had been ordered. So I called Safelite again and made clear what glass I needed and had to wait another week and a half for the right piece of glass to come in. So today is my appointment and my technician calls me, and again.. they ordered the wrong piece of vent glass. So Safelite calls me to say they will now order the correct piece of vent glass and I have to wait another week for an appointment. I ask how I know they will order the right piece this time and she said, "Because I'm doing this myself." Seriously? I had to call my insurance company to connect me to Safelite corporate and they assure me that the right piece has been ordered for me this time, but we'll fucking see about that. read more

I scheduled an appointment over the phone and was quoted 1.5 hours to replace my back passenger window which was completely busted when my car was broken into. I called on a Friday morning and there was no availability until Monday afternoon. They were able to put a crash wrap (just a plastic cover) temporarily. When I arrived Monday, I was now quoted two hours to complete the work. My car sat there for 1 hour 45 minutes until I asked again as it appeared they forgot about it, though reception said they got busy. They finally finished the job in 2 hours 45 minutes. Came into the shop and everything was suppose to go smoothly, but they told me way later that the regulator was broken and they couldn't have it for a couple of days. Not the greatest experience already not being able to use my car for 3 days. The people are nice, but nothing is set up correctly. Why did I not read the reviews before go into this excuse for repair shop? I just had the absolute worst experience trying to get my windshield replaced I couldn't believe it. I called yesterday and scheduled the appointment which was confirmed with a credit card since they would order my windshield for the installation. I received an email with confirmation and a time of 3 PM with a link for directions. When I arrived the girl told me very unapologetically your appointment was at 1 PM so I canceled it...... I showed her the email on my phone and she just looked at me with a blank look and tried to blame some dispatch system. Not happy with Safelite online service. I scheduled an appointment. Then I needed to make a change. Only change they allowed was a schedule time change or cancellation. There was no "chat", no phone, no way to email. No way to communicate. I get that we are all trying to automate but this was frustrating. So all I could do is cancel.
