I booked an online appointment last week to replace a cracked windshield on my wife's Lexus for 10am this morning. I received two email reminders. They mentioned being at least 10 minutes early to get you checked in so they can start working on your car right on time. I actually arrived at 9:45 and it took all of about 2 minutes to check in and they pulled the car in immediately. I was told it would take 90 minutes to two hours to replace the windshield and recalibrate the camera. Their waiting room is nice and cool inside, with a coffee machine, a TV (on ESPN), and a clean restroom. Exactly 2 hours later and my car was finished. Since I had provided my credit card info when I booked the appointment, the billing was already handled. Although the cost of the replacement windshield was (barely) less than my insurance deductible, this is where my insurance company recommended I take it. Seemed like a decent value. On a side note, since I was sitting in the office where they greet customers checking in, I was shocked how many people show up AFTER their scheduled appointment time. They still take the cars in, but obviously, they'll have to wait for scheduled cars to be finished first. read more

"Safelite repair, Safelite replace". When the little star crack on my windshield began to spread in crazy different directions. I called my auto insurance and they recommended Safelite. I choose to take my car to the Rancho Cordova location. I have been to various other locations, but it was my first time at this one. Long story short, my car windshield was replaced without any issues, the customer service was great (good communication), and the wait was less than a couple of hours as quoted. I replaced the windshield a couple of months ago, so far no issues. The techs installed the windshield with no damage to my car; no stretches or dings. It was easy to set an appointment online and even edit. I know because I had to reschedule twice. If you want to call them directly to talk to a live human; you can do that as well. No attitudes. I don't understand why this location received such bad reviews, Dillion and his crew are great and have great customer service. I had to have my entire windshield replaced 9 days ago and they did it in record time. I unfortunately was driving today and a rock hit my brand new windshield, Dillon took me in right away and gave me a great deal, he remembered me and was empathetic about my unfortunate situation! Dillon was on the phone with a disgruntled customer, I feel this guy was trying to scam him and intimidate him. While I was there the same customer on the phone showed up and caused a scene. Telling me that I should watch them and not trust him. We exchanged some words. Poor Dillon, I deal with rude entitled customers all day long and Dillon kept his composure with the douche of a 'man'. In April I had a small chip on the windshield of my Tucson. The next day it cracked and runs halfway across the windshield. I had to replace it! Today they came out for a different vehicle (Lexus IS) for again a small chip. It was smaller than a dime. Now it's the size of a quarter and requires a new windshield.Now between the two vehicles will cost thousands of dollars! It's terrible that this is the company that my insurance sends me too. It's a scam! They will break the windshield and offer a "modestly" priced replacement. When I tried repeatedly to contact them you're always directed to the website. Got a rock chip in our RV windshield. Had used SL in the past to perform chip repairs on our automobiles. Checked the website to see if SL did RV windshield glass chip repairs. Website read YES. In fact the website still reads that they perform this service. After working with their dispatch to get an appointment, they finally came through. The repairman arrived, looked at the RV windshield and immediately started coming up with reasons why he couldn't do the work, including telling us that he had a previous knee injury that prevented him from climbing ladders. Then more reasons as to why he couldn't do it. Then finally, told us that SL hasn't done RV windshield glass chip repairs for 10 years. I called Mark from A-Plus Glass in Sacramento to ask if they serviced RV windshields. He scheduled an appointment early the next morning, arrived at my home on time and made the repair in 30 minutes or less. We'll be using A-Plus Glass for all future repairs, not to mention that A-Plus Glass was $75.00 cheaper! Oh, check SL's website, it still reads that they do RV windshield repair. Came in to fix my broken rear window (long story). The place is conveniently located to home in a safe area. The shop and waiting area are very clean. The service was excellent and had to wait only an hour until completion. The replacement kit was missing a mounting bracket to keep the window open which is on order. The price was reasonable as well. Highly recommend! read more

Terrible experience. I've used Safelite before and receive good customer service. However, this last experience was so bad I won't be using them again. They were slow, unresponsive and unprofessional. Took about a week to get a windshield replacement appointment - way too long. In the appointment day, the technician doesn't show up within the 5 hour window. No call, no justification, nothing. Had to contact the 1-800 number and suffer through their useless AI bots until a human finally picked-up. This lady tried to call the local office and the technician assigned but got no response either. Finally; a manager calls me a few hours later to report the technician damaged the new glass and needed to re-schedule two days later. They didn't think to let me know in advance so I could move on with my day. The manager apologized and was courteous but by then I decided to use a different shop. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Took my car in to get my windshield replaced since it was suggested by my insurance (worst decision). Thought it was going to be quick and easy job, nope. First they didn't put OEM windshields on so they couldn't calibrate it with my car. Then took over three weeks to order a OEM replacement, didn't give me an eta, or any kind of update. I had to call my insurance to see if I can change to a different service provider for them to finally tell me "oh looks like we're going to be getting it in tomorrow". I was referred to Safelite by my insurance company, USAA. 41 days later and my window is not fixed as I write this. Several weeks ago, we came out of our houses to a broken front window. I was able to get an appointment with Safelite for a few days later. I arranged to take the afternoon off to be present for the Safelite Tech at our house. The tech called mid-morning and said he'd like to arrive early, so I headed home from work. He began poking with the door, determined he did not have the right tools, and I'd need to bring the vehicle into the shop. "Let's go", I said. No, I'd need an appointment and he conveyed none were available for that day, so I accepted one for the following day (more time off work). I received an email to confirm my appointment. I clicked on the link and noticed there were appointments available that very afternoon. Hey, I'm still on track to get it done that day! I went down the shop and the same guy who came to my house worked on my car at the shop (haha!). I came back two hours later and the window had been replaced (all finger printy and grimy). He let me know the power window will not function and they need to order a part. Okay fine... I literally followed up six times and each time the rep would tell me the part has been requested and they can't do anything until the part arrives. 41 days later, same answer. My question, has anyone picked up the phone and called the dealer? Or do they feel they have done all they can with the electronic request process? My car required a windshield replacement and this was the quickest option. The appointment was easy to make, but that was the only easy part. I dropped off my car and picked it up later that day. They advised me they broke my windshield wiper assembly taking off the windshield. ANY estimating software states that they need to remove it BEFORE removing the windshield on this specific car. They said they ordered the piece and would call me. Later that day I noticed the windshield they used had a huge warp in it - how did they not catch that? They said they would replace the windshield again when the part came in. A week goes by - nothing. I call - never get a response. I get my insurance company involved. No response. Two weeks. Nothing. Finally, after emailing a contact at Safelite corporate I get a call after three weeks. Meanwhile I had called the dealership about the part and it only takes about 3-4 days to get the part in. Do not use this location for windshield replacements. Customer service is lacking. I'm sure the only reason they get business is because of insurance companies. Never again. read more

This place is a scam. Do not go here. I went here for chip fills per my warranty. The warranty company made the appointment and I just showed up. I didn't sign any paperwork I just handed my keys over and showed where the chips were located. 50 minutes later I get told that the window got cracked and that is a common accurance . About twice a week. Because working with windshields they are likely to crack. Here is the kicker. My warranty isn't liable and safelite told me that they aren't either because it happens. Have a changing table for the bathroom so parents don't have to change their kids on the bathroom floor, add a hook to hang purse or bag, and show the chips that was fixed to make sure they got them all before leaving. Front desk receptionist is very professional and nice. The place is very clean, offers plenty of seating and tables to use in case you brought a laptop with you. Dropped off my Subaru to the tune of what would be $1400 for a windshield replacement and camera recalibration and was returned the vehicle with cameras in operable due to them, using a cheap, inferior piece of glass. For that kind of money, use an OEM piece of glass that you know will work properly with the vehicles, collision, avoidance, and adaptive cruise control systems. Let me tell you Ranchos location is AMAZING! I had a horrible experience in Placerville. Placerville replaced my front window and didn't have it clipped in on the bottom. I brought it back and they told me it was a defect on a part on my car. So I took it to Subaru and they said no they broke some of the clips, Subaru replaced the piece for me. I called customer service to reschedule another appointment in Rancho. Day of the appointment I received an alert reminder and my location was changed to Placerville. I called Rancho who said they couldn't fix it since they didn't do the original replacement and don't have the window. So I went to Placerville for my appointment, they didn't have the window. So since they couldn't do anything and I didn't want them to fix it in the first place. I drove to Rancho. They were amazing came and looked at my window, and got me in the next day.
