This is the 3rd window replaced on this Subaru Ascent. I've used them previously on my Kia as well. Let's start with the good. The windshield is replaced, looks secure, didn't leak, and my "Eyesight" cameras have zero errors. The bad. The trim on the exterior was improperly installed allowing leaks into the engine bay. I properly installed it. When pointing this out, customer service pointed out I now voided any warranty. When leaving, I noticed I had a headlight out on the passenger side. When opening the hood to investigate, the hood prop was loose and dangling dangerously over my drive belt, the inner fender trim was loose and creased, and the filter box was tampered with. Generally, I do my own oil changes and last week when last under the hood, everything was fine. Since the box was open, I noticed the $50 k&n filter is gone and a no name generic was in its place. Not something I check regularly, but with all the other issues in that general area, it's suspicious. It appears the trim was damaged looking for the missing hood prop grommet. I won't be taking my vehicle back there to be corrected. The trust is gone. For the premium price tag they demand, I expect a higher level of professionalism. I did not ask for compensation, nor was any offered. If I am forced by my insurance to use this shop again, it won't be dropped off and left unsupervised and I'd advise anyone else forced to use them to do the same. read more

We had a chip repaired on our windshield and it was done very poorly. I call corporate who tried to reach out to the store. They contacted the wrong store. When I finally reached the correct store, the manager was rude and argued with me. She finally gave use a full refund (more than I asked for) BUT because we wrote a check, we had to wait 6 weeks for our refund. Six weeks have come and gone. I have reached out to the store and corporate with no response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON. THEY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!!! read more

On Thursday 12/6 I was driving and had a large chunk of snow come off of a semi trailer hit my windshield. I called Safelite and they were booked for the day, however said they'd get me in Friday morning, 12/7. I got a call and said to come in. I was greeted with a friendly smile and handshake. The Office lady went out and vacuumed my car to get rid of all the glass shards. The 2 service guys went to work immediately removing my shattered windshield and installed the new one. Very friendly, classy staff! Everything went well, service was quick, explanations were given as what I need to do going forward if any issues would arise, reasonably priced, very clean waiting room and overall great experience. read more

Their "lifetime warranty" is not an actual warranty. Warranty is defined as "a written guarantee, issued to the purchaser of an article by its manufacturer, promising to repair or replace it if necessary within a specified period of time." This is NOT what Safelite offers. I had a chip in my windshield repaired 2.5 years ago. The repair failed. The windshield needs total replacement. I was okay with that. It's a windshield and windshields are exposed to a lot of nasty conditions. I expected Safelite to live up their warranty. Here is how they handle it 1. They will refund you the cost of the original repair OR apply it to a new service. 2. If you used your insurance they will refund your insurance. They will file for payment from your insurance for the second cost. 3. If you used your insurance it was likely field under the comprehensive portion. If you have a deductible on your comprehensive portion that means you likely paid the first time. Plus you may have had a rate increase for the first claim. You will now likely have to pay the deductible again. Plus You may now have another rate increase for the second claim. Not exactly a warranty. More like a "we guarantee our work, unless it fails." I have no complaints about their customer service or workmanship. My complaint is with their "warranty." read more

I scheduled an appointment online to have windshield replaced at Rockford,Il store on Riverside blvd. I used a $50 off promo code when making appointment. Which was applied to the quote. After the work was done I decided to let them replace the wipers. It costed me almost $100 more than the quote I received. They did not honor the promo code.The new windshield looks good. However if they want to stiff me for the $50 promo code I will not be using Safelite ever again. Definitely won't be recommending them to anyone. read more

I scheduled an appointment, which they blew up my phone with reminders like I'm a child who can't remember a simple appointment. My vehicle needs calibration so I had to take it to the store in Rockford. The nearest store is just over an hour away, but 35 minutes into my trip Safelite called to reschedule because they didn't have my windshield. The employee who called didn't have my name right and said my windshield came in damaged. I call BS, but either way bad business after bad business. The place is a joke that wasted my time and still no fixed windshield. I knew I should have had my certified Honda dealer fix it, they are always courteous and do a great job. read more

I took my car in to have the windshield replace. They did damage to my car, the windshield squeaks now I hear a high pitch it's certain speeds which they try to blame on my windshield wipers by saying that they're just not working right with the windshield. Right now I'm in the process of fighting them to get everything fixed in my money back I have gone to them 2 times both times they have not fix the issue. read more

If you love listening to shity music and pressing lots of numbers on your phone so you can talk to someone out of state this is the place for you. EVERYONE that I spoke with at the company, from making my appointment, to each service professional, were courteous beyond any expectation. Furthermore, when John came out to do the work, he exhibited true dedication to doing a job well done. He pointed out things about the prior windshield that were done incorrectly, and he FIXED someone else's poor craftsmanship with a smile and an assurance to me that all will be taken care of. Don't believe the Safelite commercials on chip repair. I had two tiny (TINY!) chips in the windshield and believed Safelite's hype and had Jesse come out. Twenty minutes later and I now have a three inch crack in the windshield I didn't have before and was told it sometimes happens and I'll need a new windshield "Would you like me quote that for you?". Nancy at the office would offer a discount on a new windshield, but would not take responsibility. Don't let a company that sells new windshields touch your car's chipped windshield. I scheduled an appointment in ROCKFORD, IL. They told me the technician would arrive at my home between noon and 5:00. I was also told that the tech would text me when he was on his way. I never received a text or phone call. I wasted my entire day waiting and still have a damaged windshield. I called after 5:00 to complain and to inquire about my appointment. The woman who answered was not overly concerned about my wasted time. She put me on hold to call the tech. After a few minutes she informed me that Reberto was not answering his phone. She tracked him using a GPS locator to a town over 40 miles away from my house then stated that the tech would still be there "sometime this evening". I was unable to wait any longer and should not have had to. Unprofessional and unacceptable!!! Poor customer service by both the tech and the woman who answered the phone. If the tech was unable to fulfill the appointment he should have called hours ago to cancel or reschedule. My family has used Safelite several times in the past. This is the second major issue we've had with them. We will not use them again in the future. They do not deserve my business. read more

Safelite tech came out first time and informed us we needed to repair a part on the door, completed that repair and called them back out to put in glass. Technician got there and wasn't able to fix because he said he didn't have the correct bolts. Told me to go buy them and he would come back out. Ended up calling another company who came out next morning and fixed it and HE brought the bolts with him. read more

Safelite is amazing. Quick fast accurate service. A rock hit my windshield making a deep gouge with starburst affect on Friday afternoon before a holiday. I called a local place and they couldn't get me in before Tuesday. I was going out of town and afraid this would start cracking further. Safelite worked me in with their last appointment before the Labor Day Weekend. The wonderful manager said its pretty deep, they're not sure it will be a simple fix. However, in no time she came back in said it filled in beautifully. The manager was great. Kept me informed every step of the way. Explained how the repair process worked. I am very happy how it looks. I didn't have to replace my whole windshield and only if you look closely can you see the smudge. I was still able to go on my trip. I am very pleased with the service and the fantastic attention I received. I am so glad that I didn't wait because they said it works best when they can get to it right away. Someone threw a brick threw my rear windshield. I set my appointment with safelite through my insurance because safelite is a preferred shop for my insurance. My appointment was set for later on in the week because my glass needed to be ordered. I show up to my appointment only to find out they do not have my rear windshield and that they found one but it is in chicago and its not oem. The woman then began telling me the part was gonna cost 1500 bucks and my insurance will not cover it and i would have to pay out of my pocket. She also said insurance wouldnt even cover cars that are only 2 years old and she didnt know the value of my car. (I drive a 92 acura integra that is in mint condition with low miles.) Then she said insurance would only cover oem which is contradicting to her original statement. I will never go back here or recommend anyone to safelite this experience makes me feel like they are trying to hustle me and waste my time. They had plenty of time to get the parts and everything squared away with insurance which leads me to believe they was trying to hustle me or are extremely incompetent. read more

I just got my window replaced. At first all it was a crack that was only an inch. The guy came out to fix it, and he expanded it and made it worse. I do not blame him because he tried to get a better deal for me. At first it cost nothing and was covered by insurance, but then he had to charge me because it got worse and had to replace the whole windshield. He tried to cut the price down, but who ever he was talking to would not let him. I then had to pay $262 for something they messed up on. I do not feel that I should have to pay this. I got a new air freshener out of the deal, wow gee thanks guys! That really makes up the difference of $262. My boyfriend says he used Safelite to come and repair one of the vehicles at his job, and they did the same thing. I do not think that it was right for the company to charge me for the mistake that they made. I would never use this company again, or recommend anyone else to use this company! read more
