This store is a keeper as also evidenced by its amazing customer reviews. Jay is the tek lead. He gave me confidence by assuring me I could drive my vehicle safely while awaiting OEM windshied glass to arrive. Today's early morning glass replacement appointment was delayed since I had to rush back to my Audi dealership for them to clear error codes generated by Safelite's sensors (once again not caused by Safelite). Gone are the days of old non-computerized vehicles and we all have to live with error reports be they major or negligible. Safelite's policy to not proceed with any glass replacements if too many error codes r seen by their computer where the dealer needs to clear or resolve the error reports first -- is reassuring. Jose was my tek specialist who did my glass replacement. He is one of the chosen specialists specifically for my make and model due to its idiosyncrasies. Everything after install was reported by Jose as perfect and excellent with the glass replacement and recalibrations. The store itself is truly presentable, clean, and amply supplied with Keurig goodies and a cold water dispenser. This particular Safelite location is highly recommended in my books. Several weeks ago, I went to Safelite to replace the front windshield on my Bronco and paid $900 for what I believed was a brand‑new installation. After taking the vehicle for a wash, I noticed a small chip along the edge of the windshield that had been patched with some type of adhesive. Unfortunately, I didn't catch it right away, and at this point they would likely deny responsibility -- but the reality is that I received a repaired windshield instead of a new one. I visited with Justin after determining that SLAG was the most affordable option for replacement of my AUDI Q8 windshield. Justin was extremely competitive, and assured me that they would have no problems with the AUDI calibration. The tech was available and waiting when I arrived. The admin up from quickly processed my payment and it was taken immediately into the shop. The tech took time to protect both my hood, and the drivers seats before starting any repairs. Since posting my original review last Saturday (July 11), the situation has gotten worse, confirming my complete loss of trust in Safelite. The heavy rain that started on July 11 revealed a serious leak through their May windshield replacement at the San Antonio location (12914 Silicon Dr). Water soaked the headliner and dripped onto electrical components in my new Tesla Model Y. I immediately scheduled a warranty appointment for 2:00 pm that same day, but they refused to honor it, stating they had no backup glass and wouldn't proceed without one. They rescheduled for Monday, July 13 at 11:30 am, forcing my vehicle to sit exposed and leaking for over 48 hours. I attended the Monday appointment. They removed the glass, addressed the leak, but damaged my window tint in the process. Before the work began, I specifically raised my concerns about tint damage with both the store manager and Safelite's Customer Service Warranty department. Both assured me that any damage caused would be covered under warranty. After pickup, I discovered the tint damage (visible when raising the sun visor). I immediately showed it to the store manager and asked him to document it, as I planned to file a claim. The cost to fix the tint is approximately $300. Despite prior assurances, a follow-up call with Customer Service revealed that the store manager noted the damage as "minor" and claimed the customer was "satisfied"--which is false. I've called the warranty department five times since the incident; each time they promised a district manager would call back, but none have. This is now the third major failure: Failed chip repair (Dec May split). Leaking replacement causing water damage. Additional tint damage during the warranty repair, plus a prior failed camera recalibration that required a Tesla visit for FSD issues and cleaning. At this point, I simply want Safelite to honor their promises and cover the $300 tint replacement so I can go to a different provider for future work. San Antonio Tesla owners: be extremely cautious. Multiple failures on a new vehicle, combined with poor follow-through, make this unacceptable. read more

Had a multiple confirmation scheduled for a 12-5pm at my residence. During that window, not one notification, no updated emails. I called at 5pm to closed offices. I got a call at 630pm that day from the technician saying they could be out there at 720pm. I declined. Called the office the next day, got the run around from 3 different employees and 24 minutes later, just an apology and offer to reschedule with a $75 discount which I already had a $45 discount but would not be able to utilize that. Seriously, I will gladly pay $75 more to another company with better customer service. read more

Per reviews from other customers, be mindful. My appointment stated between 8-12. The tech calls at 11:05 and said he will arrive within 40 mins; which would have him arrive within the last timeframe. I get a afterwards stating they will be there at 12:20-12:50. Unacceptable. You can only expect so much when you call the company and their response is "I'm sorry, it's not up to us but the technicians." First of all, I'm from New Braunfels, not CA. Not sure why it shows me in CA. Anyway, I don't even know where to start. In Sept. of 2024 I needed my driver's side glass replaced. The story is too long, but it comes down to this. They sent me an extra charge 14 months later. 14 months! I am now arguing with them over the charge. They have new management now, not the same management as when this all started. The management I started with was TERRIBLE. NO communication, no follow through. Promises not kept. Now they have new management-the ones who decided to send me an extra charge 14 months later. When I first contacted them I thought we were going to work this out quickly. The new manager, Leon, seemed engaged in the issue. But he even dropped the ball for over a month, not answering two emails. As of today he says the refund issue will be taken care of by tomorrow. I guess we will see. Basically, you have to fight for yourself with this company when things go south. You will get the runaround big time. The don't have the desire to work with you. Just give us our money and leave us alone. Next time I need glass I'm paying extra and going to the dealership. read more

Let me start by saying DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible company. My husband brought his Jeep Bronco in after scheduling an appointment. He was told he needed to drop off his vehicle and it would only take them two hours to fix it. Mind you he went in very early on a day he worked. We waited the two hours only for them to call us and say they don't even have the glass in stock! Mind you we scheduled the appointment a week in advance and they never said anything. Dropped the vehicle off and they still didn't say anything. Only after 2 hours of my vehicle being there did they say something. They never even touched our vehicle. We drive back over there and the people at the front desk were rude and laughing like it was just some funny joke. And proceeded to tell us that it's on back order. Well why didn't you tell us when we scheduled the appointment or when we dropped our vehicle off. Unprofessional and lazy! They told us that the glass would be here July 8th and for us to call them. We call them today and they are acting confused again! Saying they don't know, it hasn't come in, and the glass guy isn't even in to give us any information. They have been giving us the run around for a month now and I still have a crack in my windshield that is getting worse. If you have other options for window repair GO THERE. He confirmed the appointment, agreed to the quoted price, took the day off only to be notified the night before the appointment that they were unable to secure the windshield. Didn't do the best job they could have on my glass replacement. They did not have a gasket seal but performed the work anyway. They installed the small rubber gasket that goes around the wiper arm on the inside leaving the metal sticking out for the wiper. Broken glass was left all over the parking lot where I work. Really not the best job. I think they were in a hurry. read more

I was scheduled for my sprinter to be fixed and they don't have the bay big enough to work on my truck and do not have any accommodations to have it done. they made me leave the business truck and reschedule all my customers because they didn't have the accommodation. I had gotten my windshield replaced at same place before and was told I had lifetime warranty on my windshield. come to find out it was all a lie that if any ever happened to the windshield it would be covered. They claimed they couldn't find the right windshield for my Ford Escape, which shouldn't be difficult to locate. After losing two days' worth of wages waiting for them, they finally said they would come on Thursday. I brought my car into their shop to have a new windshield installed. Mine was severely cracked from a highway rock. It was really easy to make a reservation online. The counter guys where very nice and even helped me make a claim on my car insurance app. When I dropped the car off they told me it would be 2-3hrs. They where done within an hour and a half. They told me how much I would pay out of pocket and that was exactly what they charged. No hidden fees or up charges. On 06/03/2024 - Matt replaced the windshield on my 2012 Veloster. However, during the removal process of the plastic trim moldings, they cracked. Not a problem, things happen....I was told Safelite would replace them at no charge. So, what's the problem? The problem is, to date, Safelite has not completed the repair. So far all I've recieved is poor excuses as to why the trim set has not been ordered, classic deflection and now crickets. Upon checking, I can get the trim set delivered to my door in 2 days, for $30.00 if I so choose. Through Safelites' own actions (or in-action) I am left with the thought that they simply choose not standby their services and commitment to the customer. I had an appointment at 1 PM to get a chip repaired on my Windshield. I decided to swing by Safelite sooner to see if they had any cancellations. I arrived at 9 AM and they had me out the door by 9:30! The waiting room had free great coffee, probably about seven different flavors to choose from and free snacks! I was also impressed with the clean restroom! I have honestly never seen such an immaculate unisex restroom. The air freshener in there also made me feel right at home. The staff was very professional! They looked well put together and not like they just rolled out of bed in their uniforms. Plus they explained the procedure about chip repairs in advance to me and after the job was completed wanted me to look over the work to make sure that I was satisfied. The best thing about my visit was that I didn't have to pay out-of-pocket. My insurance covered the chip repair . The chip repair is just designed to keep it from spreading. I appreciated not having to pay over $400 to replace the windshield! read more

We bought a brand new 2022 Rav4. Its so new we don't even have plates yet. Was driving down the road and a rock hit the windshield and chipped it. Was able to get a tech out the next day to our home. *This is my Safelite Story:** It was easy enough to schedule my windshield replacement at home, so I took a day off despite losing wages to have this done. What was difficult was getting them to fulfill their scheduled promise. I received a call at the far end of the appointment window, at the last possible moment when I was expecting Safelite to show up, telling me they had to find the right windshield but it could be anywhere in the warehouse and they didn't know when they would find it. REALLY? Don't schedule a repair if you don't have the product! They said maybe they could be here the following day. you know, if they found the windshield. I didn't hear from them for a few days when they called to say they could show up the following day. By this time, I had already lost two days' worth of wages and wasn't sure they would show up on this reschedule. I told them they had already cost me money and that they should refund my deductible or we would cancel. I was told they would refund the deductible and make it right, but first they need to have the windshield installed and the payment posted so they have an invoice to refund. Came here to get a chip fixed. The guy looked at it for less than 30 seconds from like 4 feet away and said "well it's already been sealed". I was there when it was chipped. No one else drives my car and I know I didn't get it fixed. He looked at me like I was making it up. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for professionalism or help if they can't make big bucks off of you. I went to Glass America after and they said that guy didn't know what he was talking about and this is a common complaint from this location. They provided better service and fixed the chip. I booked an appointment online July 4th, and the soonest they had available was the 19th of July. I was willing to pay out of pocket and not deal with the insurance as it was going to be the same cost because of the deductible. I got a confirmation text after scheduling it and thought it was all set. When I clicked on the link in the text to see the work order it showed canceled/refunded. I reached out via their Chat with an Expert twice who assured me there was an appointment scheduled. The day before my appointment I called and spoke to a customer service representative who said she showed it was still scheduled and wasn't sure why it showed canceled/refunded as there were no notes and the work order still showed that is was scheduled to be done on 7/19, between 8-12pm. The day came and went and no one showed up, no one called me, no texts, no email, nothing. I made arrangements to be home so they could come for this and wasted time for nothing. I chatted again the day after no one showed and now the representative told me she showed the appointment was canceled. I am not sure what is going on with Safelite lately, but I will never use them again. I found another place that fit me in same day, and at a cheaper cost overall.
