Booking my appointment online was quick and easy, and when I arrived, the receptionist was incredibly kind and welcoming. I chose to wait in the lobby while they replaced my windshield, and the process took about an hour and a half. Just a heads-up--mine didn't require calibration, so if yours does, it may take a bit longer. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with both the quality of the work and the customer service. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the service I received today. My original work order specified a maximum wait time of 3 hours. Upon arrival at 11:00 AM, I was told it would actually be 4 hours. It is now 3:25 PM--nearly four and a half hours later--and I have just been informed it will take at least another hour. ​A projected 3-hour job has now turned into a 5.5-hour ordeal. ​This lack of transparency is completely unacceptable. Because I trusted your initial estimate, I told my daughter not to take her lunch, as I expected to pick her up by 2:00 PM. Instead, I am still sitting here while she is left waiting and hungry. ​If you only have one technician available, you have a responsibility to inform customers before they arrive for an appointment. It is incredibly disrespectful to overbook your schedule and expect customers to pay the price for your staffing shortages. I called early in the morning. The guy I spoke with was friendly, but didn't offer to come to me. He told me I could bring my car in at 4pm, (I would have to wait the entire day) and quoted me nearly $600 for a new rear window. I understand charging more if they come to you, which is what they're known for, but nearly doubling the typical cost of every other company I contacted-especially since I have to drive to them without a rear window-feels excessive. I drive a company vw atlas and the fleet company that handles repairs apparently contracts with Safelite. When my fleet company made a reservation for me they failed to know that there's two types of reservations; all day reservations and hourly reservations. All day reseverations are about as useless as a walk in reservation; meaning that even if you drop the vehicle in the morning (which I did at 730am) you are last in priority to the hourly reservations. So that means they will work on cars with hourly reservations first regardless of what time you drop off your vehicle. Guess what? They didn't even touch my vehicle until about 3 pm. I called their phone number and of course you're directed to a call center with zero ability to communicate directly with the branch where your car was located. The person on the phone assured to me it would be done around 430-5pm since their office hours was listed as closing at 5 pm on the website. Interestingly enough the office hours listed on their window says they close at 4 pm. It makes me believe they get so many angry customers they shield the branch locations from angry yelling customers. So then I decided to take an Uber back to the business at 430 and guess what? Right now it's 615pm and they need another 30-40 minutes to finish. Eveytime I ask an employee they keep tacking another 40 minutes to completion. AND here's the kicker. Despite the fact I wasted a whole day stranded at home because I didn't have another ride they told me the windshield replacement was defective and I need to come back again to install another windshield again. The guy said it isn't their fault because they received a bad part from the manufacturer. I told him it's still your fault because you didn't inspect the windshield before installing so you wouldn't waste all of our time. Come Monday I will yell at my fleet company for contracting with these clowns. I should have demanded the car just be repaired at the dealer. AND here's the final cherry on top. I ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours and they told me they couldn't do the calibration so my cruise control isn't functional and they made me sign a waiver. I'm going home at almost 7pm without a fully functional car and having to come back again for their incompetence. read more

Set my appointment to fix a single dime-sized crack. $170 total. Saw they had an option to go through insurance so I thought I'd give it a try. The day before the appointment, insurance comes back and now I have to pay $500 out of pocket for the $170 service. I'm not sure what Safelite told my insurance company what they were charging for but it for sure wasn't the single crack. Disgusting behavior from this company to snake money out of you and your insurance. Buy a $15 kit on Amazon, do it carefully, and you'll be happy with the results. Also, not a super huge deal, but they bombard your email and phone with messages. Just don't do it. I'm cleaning out endless texts and emails and it's such a headache. So so experience. Truly not horrible and not great either. Front desk lady was cold, probably just bored, doesn't seem like it's anything personal, just a byproduct of being at this location. This safelite facility is nice however it's located in more or less of a dumpy uninspiring industrial area. So I totally get it, a little depressing. Also consider 99% of the clients coming here are coming here to deal with something that is 99% of the time a really annoying issue. So the staff here is definitely dealing with irritated and annoyed customers who may or may not have unrealistic expectations of how fast this process might be to take care of the issue. Finally after waiting for 40 minutes someone came out to assess the car, I forget his name but he was essentially just a tech... he told me he didn't think my chip could be resolved, and was hinting that I might need a total windshield replacement. I was like wait why can't we just attempt to fix it first before we jump ship to a full window replacement... thankfully a shop supervisor, aka the tech's boss, was out dealing with another customer. I was able to get his attention and see his opinion. I forget the supervisors name, but he was so nice and he said oh yeah we're probably going to have to use more product than usual and maybe even two pours, but he did not say anything about a potential window replacement.. At the end of the day, just try to talk with a tech supervisor. If you don't like the answer the tech is giving you ask for a supervisor. Glad my husband made the appointment online and I was able to bring in the car. Definitely allow yourself more time than necessary for the appointment because they are slow here. They definitely need to train the techs better. Supervisors are great but they shouldn't be the only ones that know how to resolve issues. Expert tips: Bring a sun hat, insulated water bottle (there's a water dispenser in the lobby), a book, headphones, anything you need to stay comfortable indoors or outdoors while you wait to see the service tech and also while your car is fixed. read more

I had the unfortunate experience behind a dump truck!! Broken windshield! Called my insurance company and they setup the repair appointment with Safelite. The repair took 3 hours to repair. Most was the recalibration of the sensors. Had a very small problem with the caulk they used . Smeared a lot on the edges. I tried to call the shop to get it cleaned and there is no way you can talk to anyone!! The most screwed up phone system on earth. The recording keeps going in circles.could not get anyone to answer the phone!!! Send them a email and got a call back two days later!!! read more

I originally had an insurance claim but decided to pay out of pocket. The whole experience was smooth which is nice especially when dealing with a bad situation like a cracked windshield. But they took me right on time, I was picked up but they do have a clean waiting room with wi-fi and coffee a snack machine. The whole replacement took less than 3 hours. The lady who helped me at the counter was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly to me, and the new glass looks great like it never happened. Also worth noting, the price I paid out of pocket was less than every single estimate that I got from yelp, and at the same time this one comes with warranty so overall would recommend for sure. read more

I was driving on the 210 freeway and my windshield got a crack than with the week of driving my car expanded to about 16 inches long. I called safelight and scheduled and appointment. I arrived on time around 8:05am (my appointment was at 8. Kelly the representative that checked me in was friendly and prompt. Sylvester the tech came right away took my car keys and took my 2020 Rav 4 to replace the entire windshield and calibrate the cameras / sensors. Sylvester was really good at communicating and letting me know that it would take about 2-2.5 hours for the repair. I waited in the waiting area, it was clean and they had a coffee machine. I appreciated that they have free Wi-Fi log in available so I could do some computer work while I waited. 45 mins into the repair Sylvester called me to let me know the et successful took the broken windshield out and would begin the placement of the new windshield and recalibrate the sensors. Time flew by then Sylvester called me again let me know my car was ready. I walked in gave Kelly the receptionist my debit card paid for my window and left happily! It's not fun having to come up with $972 for a windshield repair but since my car has all the sensors I totally trust safelite to do their job correctly and so far I am happy. I dropped off my car at 8:45 a.m. The front desk took my keys and assured me that I would be contacted when the job began and also before it was completed and ready for pickup. Unfortunately, none of these assurances were met. I had to follow up at 1:30 p.m. The only number listed is the 1-800 number, not a direct number to the location. I was put on hold and misled. I was told that my car was assigned to a technician and that, since I used the drop-and-go method, the car would be completed the same day. I was also informed that if the job wasn't finished by 5 p.m., it would be worked on after hours and ready for pickup. It is unacceptable that I have to reach out repeatedly just to get information about the status of my car. I called the 1-800 number again and waited for 24 minutes without receiving an update on whether my car would be ready by the morning. The worst part is that I couldn't even get the name of the branch manager or supervisor to ask for when I come in to pick up my vehicle. This level of customer service is extremely disappointing. The first one was fine at the place, however they forgot the second one, so they sent a guy to my house to do it, after 15 minutes of explaining the warranty, promising everything would go great, bad things almost never happened and that it all would be fine, they started the work. The chip was less than 3/8th of an inch before fixing but after it grew to over 1 inch and 1/4 ... mind you this chip happened 4 months ago and didn't grow by nothing. After seeing the results (see images) my intention of having a more stable windshield, was literally screwed, now they want to charge me $250 for replacing my windshield! What a great way of creating job security! I waited five hours plus an additional hour( just in case ) for the technician to never contact me. I was completely ghosted. It wasn't until I called around 4 o'clock, but I was told he was on his way. He just had to pick up the glass. I waited until after the designated time of 5 PM to call back to inquire about where he was and everything was a recording of how they were closed. Horrible customer service I basically was completely ghosted, here's my work order number so you know at corporate that this is a real person and it was an awful experience. I had a bad experience with Safelite AutoGlass in Sun Valley. I had an appointment for a technician to show up at my house 3.30.24 between 1PM - 5PM. I get a call from technician Luis stating it would be better for me to come to the shop because of weather. (Granted it was not raining, it was just cloudy) I decided to take the technicians recommendation and drive to the shop. My truck was taken in to the recommended area, it was the covered-up Safelite warehouse where my windshield was going to be replaced and calibrated (Granted it was still not raining, it was just cloudy) I spent 2 hours at the office waiting for my truck for the technician Luis to tell the it was not possible to replace the windshield due to the weather. He said calibration was unsuccessful due the weather. He needed to speak to the support team which he was unable to apparently because of the weather. He also mentioned he spoke with a Lead Technician who was unable to do so as well. (Granted it was still not raining, it was just cloudy). I left pretty unsatisfied. I was in rush to fix the crake in my windshield because my family and I were going to be driving out of State. I called to complain to my insurance who then transferred me to someone in the regional/corporate office they made me an appointment in Oregon without my permission and they and canceled my appointment here April 8, 2024. Someone from Safelite in Oregon called me and asked that I go to the shop. Of course I said no, I was on vacation with my family and I didn't see it fair. I had to call again to my insurance to get transferred to the Safelite regional/corporate office and had to make another appointment here (Sylmar, CA) Monday April 8, 2024. I got the appointment set. I got the text to confirm that someone was going to be here from 8AM - 12PM. I wait to closer to 1PM and they were "No Call, No Show". I had to call again and tell them the no one showed up and they mentioned someone with call me shortly. I finally got a call from Hector. He got here and replaced my windshield and calibrated my truck in no time and without any issues. Overall I am not satisfied with Safelite. Scam!!! They take your money, do not fix the repair. When you call them to inform them of the issue. They stand behind their "warranty" which does not guarantee their repairs. They say the warranty is only for replacement windshields not for repairs. At this point, they offer to replace the windshield at full price for them not fixing the repair the first time. I spoke with multiple departments, and personnel. They all point fingers and transfer you until they stop picking up the phone. I called again days later, hoping I would get lucky and reach someone who can help. Again, I was pushed away and told there was no one at the shop to help, they said to drive to there nearest shop and try to speak with the manager. Again, they repeated the cannot guarantee they will help but that was the only option they provided. Doreen was the contact for the Warranty department. read more

I am changing my 5-star review from my January 2023 visit to a 1-star review for my August 2024 visit. I called to check the status of my repair at 3:15pm and the person answering the phone said my car was finished and ready for pickup. I arrived at Safelite at 3:45pm and they said my car was not yet finished. The repair tech said he needed 5 additional minutes to ensure the new windshield was secure. I ended up sitting in the waiting room for 45-minutes waiting for the car to be complete. We went from being told it was finished at 3:15pm to actually being done at 4:30pm. Meanwhile, this completely messed up my childcare plans because I was told the car was done, not that I'd need to wait 75 minutes after from when I was told car was completed. On top of that, the windshield washer nozzles were not put back in place correctly, and I had to figure out how to fix the issue as washer fluid was spraying straight up in the air instead of on the windshield. I may have had a great experience here in 2023, but they no longer provide great service. Avoid at all costs! read more

I got a chip on my windshield that I was unaware of and eventually turned into a large crack running down my windshield. So I scheduled an appointment through my insurance and it linked me with Safelite to schedule a replacement. The appointment was made quickly and easily with plenty of options to schedule daily. I also would've scheduled an in-home replacement option, but the glass on my Civic requires a special calibration so I had to go to their repair facility. The technician was very professional and friendly. I was very impressed with the customer service I received from Safelite AutoGlass as they were transparent throughout the process. The replacement, unfortunately, took 5+ hours, which is more than the quoted 2-3 hours to complete because of the specific glass and its failure on testing during calibration. I was at least somewhat prepared for a long wait in the lounge because I brought my computer and coffee minus enough food. I also knocked off a star for their waiting room, while they offer free wifi and a fairly clean restroom, the coffee machine was gross, and most of their seats have some kind of mystery stains on them. Nearing the completion of the work, I received a text to make a payment on my phone to save time and that was easily done. I would definitely say Safelite AutoGlass gave me a fair experience and thankfully I had glass coverage on my insurance. read more
