I went to drop my nephews car off I was a bit late, he had given me the incorrect drop off time. I guess Safelite has a drop off time cut off. Although you have to leave your vehicle there all day. His drop off time was 9am I believe and I got there at 9:45am thinking it was supposed to be dropped at 10am. I waited a while before the rude gentleman opened the window. He was not friendly and came off very cold. I told him I understood they have to follow policy and I would like to set a new time for the vehicle. He listed off the available times and dates quickly. I asked him to repeat them. In that same moment I realized it may be best to avoid coming back in there dealing with this. So I asked if they had any appointments available for them to come to the house. He huffed and said give him a min. He proceeded to book an at home visit. I gave him my nephews contact info for the appointment because this is his car. Once I walked out I called my nephew and let him know he'd receive a text for the updated appointment. The guy had booked my nephew for the same day at 1pm at his house. ( clearly a mistake) my nephew received a call just before his appointment time saying the Safelite team member had left for the day. (I'm sure that wasn't true) but they rescheduled him for the following week. My nephews actual service went fine. But the encounter at the actual location was uncalled for and actions should be taken to correct negative employee behavior especially when interacting with paying customers. read more

Nothing really crazy to report as much of the process was automated outside of dropping off my keys. The 3 stars is for how they left the inside of my car. I'd gotten my car cleaned the Saturday prior to my appt on Tuesday so the dirt and glass was very apparent. The follow up paperwork says they cleaned the interior but they failed to get everything which resulted in me having to clean it again. I can't speak to the value of service but do think it's crazy they charge you to recycle your own glass and you can't opt out of it. That adds an additional $30/$40 onto your balance which doesn't seem fair since you don't have a choice in the matter. read more

I recently brought my vehicle in for a rock chip repair, expecting much better results than what I received. Unfortunately, the finished product looks worse than the original damage, which is incredibly disappointing. Before dropping off the vehicle, I called (301) 645-8833--the number listed by Safelite, which states, "We're not happy unless you're happy." However, the representative I spoke to tried calling the Waldorf location twice with no success. The calls were ignored. I then contacted the main customer care line at 1-800-638-8958, and they also attempted to reach the location but couldn't get anyone on the phone. The customer care agent has since emailed the store to request a refund on my behalf and cc'd both the district and regional managers. At this point, I am waiting for my refund so I can put it toward replacing the entire windshield, since the repair work was unsatisfactory. This is actually the second time I've had issues with this particular location. My girlfriend previously had her windshield replaced here, and the first installation was crooked to the point where the VIN was no longer visible. They had to completely remove and reinstall the windshield to fix it. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend the Waldorf Safelite location. I now travel 45 minutes to a different Safelite just to avoid the poor customer service and low-quality work at this store. read more

Service issues listed: * Initial price with Veteran discount $1255.25 (Ultimately paid $1457.01) * Safelite manager notified me the wrong windshield was ordered * I returned after rescheduling only to find out Safelite ordered the correct windshield * After rescheduling and installation of the windshield. I was charged 1457.01 versus $1255.25 * I had to return the day after installation for recalibration (I still seating in the waiting area for the finalization of the calibration) * Safelite manager claims he cannot charge me the price "he personally quoted"! At the moment, I am very pissed off! I scheduled an appt with you just last week, safe lite giving me a very wide window today for a tech to be at my location between 1pm and 6pm. I don't hear from the tech only after 4pm explaining that another customer was still ahead of my appt but assured me that he would be at my location between 5:30pm and 6pm. No follow up once and its now 6:10pm! I have rescheduled the appt for an earlier time and on a weekend, maybe you will be more reliable to show up! I must be honest, the window was replaced and all functions on the door are working perfectly. My issue is the clean up job was horrible. Glass was all over my vehicle on the inside from the front to the rear. Glass from the broken window was even scattered throughout my garage. The thing that bothered me the most is that my wife cut herself on the shattered glass left behind by the Safelite technician. Aren't the technicians equipped with at least a small shop vac to clean up behind themselves? I believe a job isn't complete without cleaning up your mess. 0 stars - extremely disappointing experience I am an active duty service member in the United States Army, and I received unacceptable treatment from Safelite and manager Clifton Moffatt. I had the windshield replaced on my 2022 Tahoe, and during the installation the technician scratched my vehicle, causing about $2,500 worth of damage. At first, Clifton tried to blame a prior windshield installation, but when I mentioned to him I had photos of fresh paint on my dashboard from this installation, he even said, " Thank you It makes my job easier that you have proof." He directed me to get a repair estimate, which I did. The shop determined that not only was paint scratched down to bare metal, but the pinchweld was damaged down to bare metal as well--exposing it to rust risk. My estimate included paint repair, a new windshield, and recalibration due to the windshield needing to be removed again to repair the paint damage in the pinchweld. Clifton then asked me to get a revised estimate excluding the windshield and recalibration, since Safelite would "handle that themselves." I reluctantly agreed, even though I was uncomfortable letting the same company that damaged my vehicle work on it again. But I understand trying to keep costs down, and I appreciated them trying to make things right. But after I sent the revised estimate, Clifton left me a voicemail saying that after meeting with his district and quality managers, they had decided Safelite was not liable for the damage they caused. When I tried to call back and informed him I would be recording the conversation for my records, he refused to speak with me and hung up. It is shocking that a nationally recognized company--one that proudly advertises supporting veterans,employing veterans, offering veterans and service mebers discounts --would damage a customer's vehicle, then simply refuse to make it right. Veterans and customers alike deserve better treatment than this. I hope someone from Safelite corporate steps in to address this and hold their management accountable. read more

Long story less long, I went to safelite to get my driver side window replaced. After the service was completed, it turns out 1) my driver side inside door panel was not secured properly onto the door, and 2) the inside wooden door trim was broken in half. Naturally, I filed a compliant. Safelite does not act through actual insurance companies. Instead they act IN THE capacity of an insurance company. After receipt of the repair quote (which took weeks and I was never told it was available until I physically walked into the shop), the quote only mentioned the wooden trim. Not the inside panel (despite multiple photos taken by myself and the branch location agents). I had to get them to fix the quote. Next, I had to find an auto body shop that would do the work. MOST SHOPS DO NOT DO THE WORK UNLESS INSURANCE IS INVOLVED. This meant I went through hell and back to find a shop willing to work with me. After finding one and providing them the quote, they stated the part number (for a used part closely matching the year of my car - 2012) on the quote could not be found at ANY junkyard in their search system. After explaining this to safelite, they essentially requested proof of this. I finally was able to get the auto body shop to send that proof along with a revised quote listing a new part number (for a newer year car model since the used one wasn't available). I called Safelite ensuring they received the email this time (it was sent once, to the proper email address, but safelite claimed they didn't receive anything). The casulty department rep STEVE ANDERSON literally laughed at the quote while speaking with me, saying we're not paying that. I asked to speak with a Manger and left a message with him. It has been over 5 months now since the initial damage was done. Safelite has done everything they can to avoid rectifying the situation THEY caused. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS TRASH COMPANY. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND THE HEADACHE. read more

Terrible The first time I went there for my rear windshield, they waited until I arrived for my appt. to check the glass and told me it was broken. Went back for next appt. and they said they forgot to tell me they didn't get the glass in. On the third try (mind you, gas prices are too high to keep running back and forth!) they said they were not qualified to install the windshield!!! They couldn't figure that out the last 2 times I was there? New claim, front windshield, receptionist calls to verify I'm coming about 2 minutes before I arrive. When I get there they say they just checked the glass and it has a deep scratch...OMG, is this a maw and paw shop? Do they not specialize in GLASS? After all these years and commercials, have they not figured out they should actually CHECK the glass before calling to confirm??? Extremely unprofessional. The receptionist tried to blame it on 5-6 other cars being there. If 5-6 cars overwhelms you, perhaps you should not schedule that many? How long does it take to figure that out? A simple apology instead of all those excuses would have gone a long way. They also ordered generic glass for a high end car...SMH. They have wasted my time for the last time. NEVER AGAIN‼ Both times I turned to Auto Glass Express and received excellent customer service and quality product satisfaction with dealership approved parts. Even though they are 45 minutes away, I'd rather drive there once and know they will perform an excellent job than deal with the unprofessional debacles I endured at the Waldorf Safelite. read more

I looked through the reviews here and I can only attest to my recent experience when referred to this Safelite by my insurance company. The service was impeccable. I called and made the appointment to have the windshield replaced, and when I arrived the team immediately responded and was ready to go to work on time. I could have stayed but left my 2022 Palisade and in close to 2 hours I received a call that the vehicle would be ready for pickup in approximately 30 mins. When I arrived the SUV was ready and there were no delays. Everything was brand new. The replacement glass was OEM or better, the molding and trim looked as if it had come off of the factory line. They calibrated all the instrumentation for the windshield projection displays and even remounted my E-ZPass transponder using the same industrial strength connector material! In addition to the high quality of the work and technical competence of the calibration process, they even vacuumed the vehicle and there was not one sign or indication of any debris left on the vehicle. The next day we had torrential rains and everything was airtight and fully operational. In my line of work as an engineer in technical leadership, you can tell when people and organizations pay attention to detail and align their technical responsibilities and skills with a great acumen for serving the customer. I would use this location in Waldorf again without hesitation. Professional, competent, and customer-focused! I had an appointment today, so to start it off I get a txt saying that the technician (contee) was getting started. I look outside to see no one. I call the shop they say they will get a hold of contee and see what's going on. They come back on the line to say they can't get him to answer. But they have a note saying that contee knocked on the door, but I have cameras all around the house and none of them have contee on it or any safelite vehicle for that matter. They also end up telling me he is on the road before me but that was another lie. They say he was on my road so I sent the kids out on bikes to find out that was a lie as well. At this point its also customer service joining in on it. This is the second time I tried going through safelite and never got anything done they are not reliable and will lie to your face and if contee is still working here then you can't trust the technicians they don't have any work ethic and have no problem lying to you. When I tried to get the sticker back, no one called me back for two days. Then the technician decided to show up at my work when I wasn't there yet and leave the sticker on the wrong car. When I complained, the shop took no responsibility, no one apologized for the lack of communication. Unreliable and unprofessional business. Do not recommend the Waldorf location. I did reach out to an agent at safelite.com to contact us already. A complaint was filed and supposedly sent to the district manager and the Waldorf manager. I got a phone call from the Waldorf manager and again no responsibility was taken and no apology. I have been waiting for my window replacement since the beginning of July. This company came recommended by my insurance- which now I am reconsidering them as well. A woman called me Friday before the office closes to inform me that my window has not arrived after 2 weeks. I ask, "well when can I come in?" "It will be another 2 weeks. We are very busy and booked." I explain to her, "I have already waited 2 weeks for a window that is kind of vital for me to operate a vehicle I drive everyday. This is becoming a little ridiculous for me to continue to wait. Why hasn't the window arrived?" Her:"I'm not sure but you can chance it and keep your appointment Monday and I will call you." Not only did the customer service rep NOT call me, she proceeded to CANCEL my appointment without notice at 8:01am! If I could give you zero stars I really would. This is beyond the worst location I could think of and I haven't even had services done yet! My insurance is forking $510 for a passenger side window and you can't even do the decent thing and call me to notify me that the window has not made it?? Shady business. Technician came out 2 weeks ago. It took this long to write the review because I was giving the company time to fix the situation. The technician arrived on time and was a very nice guy. The problem came when I went outside to check on his progress. To my utter disbelief, the tech spill a black substance on my driveway. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS: This is a brand new home. Finished the construction building in July of 2017. BRAND NEW HOME. MY first home. BRAND NEW. No prior owners The technician advised me the I could get it pressured washed to get it out. I told him I'm not paying for a pressure washer, he needs to do it and I have an HOA, there are standards for the upkeep of our homes and he tarnished my driveway. He tried to get it out but there was a black cast left behind. It took Safelite a week to get a 3rd party to pressure wash the stain. No rain in the mean time. The guy finally came and no luck. Now I'm stuck looking at a stain that was not my fault. Call me crazy if you want but this is my home. First home and a stain has been left. The company stained my driveway and I have to see that stain everyday. I will say the manager tried to fix the situation but the stain will always be there... read more

Very unfriendly customer service agent. Did not look up and greet any of the customers in a professional manner - only kept staring at his computer monitor. Technicians did not remove all stickers from the windshield - one of which would be $50 to replace for park passes. I asked twice to make sure it was taken care of. The technician said it was on the new glass already, so I did not question him and realized after I got home the sticker was not there. I had to go back a different day because they were closed. Very unfriendly when I came back. There are black hand prints on the headliner of my vehicle and foot prints on my front seats. Very disappointed. I didn't have any issues with the service once every was correct. When scheduling the appointment I was asked some questions about my windshield and the scheduler ordered the wrong glass. I didn't know this until the first person arrived at my home and looked at the windshield. He wasn't super professional, didn't introduce himself on the phone or in person. He seemed really nervous too. He was wearing a badge and Safelite does send an email notification so you will know who will be there. Decided to get the crack in my windshield fixed due to it spreading. I chose Waldorf Safelite due to the Yelp reviews, and did same day online appointment. Came in, and although I was not greeted by receptionist (she was not there), William came from the shop and asked if I needed help. Very impressed because I thought they would have just ignored me til the receptionist came. So, William took care of me from start to finish, explained everything and made sure I understood. Although the crack did not completely vanish (William warned me), I am a satisfied customer because William made sure I knew what could and could not happen. He also cleaned all my windows! Was suggested this company by my insurance. Technician showed up to first appointment and said he doesn't have the right windshield and that all the sensors need to be recalibrated anyways and it can only be done in store. There goes first 3 hours of my time waiting for him to show up for nothing. Took the car to the in store appointment few days later. 3 hours later they bring my car out of all the top molding gone. It literally looks like there's a half an inch gap between the window and a roof! They explained that's the new windshield comes with the bottom molding. They could care less about the look of it. When I called back and ask why wasn't I told in the beginning that's it's not going to look right I was told "maybe it doesn't look right to u, but looked perfect to the tech!" Ummm what?! After calling back and forth several times I was told that I will be contacted by store manager. Never happened. Should've just taken my car somewhere else. Worst customer service ever. read more

They did a HORRIBLE job on a windshield chip the size of a quarter! The "after" looks exactly the same as the "before". Since a repair is a one-time process, I'm stuck with now having to buy a new windshield because the vehicle won't pass inspection. I should have followed my first mind and gone elsewhere. Last year I had the same kind of chip, I went into the office and their customer service was the worst! I actually walked out because no one acknowledged my present...not even a "we'll be right there". Had another mobile service come over and that chip is barely visible...just a dot. Was driving on an unpaved road and a rock must have shot off someone's tire and hit my windshield causing a small crack. Safelite came out the very next morning on an agreed time of between 8 10am and fixed my windshield in less than 30 minutes and I can hardly notice the crack entry point. On Memorial Day, my daughter discovered that a rock, most likely thrown by a lawn mower, had shattered her driver's side window. Through our insurance, we scheduled an appointment for the next day with our local Safelite. We arrived a little early for our appointment and were checked in and the car was taken back almost immediately. Technician completed the work quickly and then explained to my daughter that he removed almost all the glass, but she may hear some small pieces he couldn't get for a little while. I arrived two hours (no typo) early and they were more than willing to fit me in. They even thanked me for arriving early. Might I add that they were busy with multiple cars already in the bays. I was in at 9:12am and out by 10:34am. My windshield looks great and my estimate for service was accurate. NO SURPRISES. I was really dreading having to come in and pay to get my smashed window fixed on my Audi A4 but the employees at this Safelite made the most dreadful task very pleasant. I came in 1/4/20 for an 11am appointment, as soon as I came in I was attended by a very nice girl at the window, she had great customer service skills (smile and everything) the technician took my keys and got my car back to me looking great before the expected time. I had my vacuum ready in the garage at home to clean out the broken glass but to my surprise they had completely vacuumed the car for me. Cracked windshield on vacation and when I got home called on a Saturday to schedule service. They were able to schedule a visit on Monday. Got a call on Monday morning saying that they had an issue about the windshield and would I be able to reschedule on Wednesday. I agreed and sure enough Wednesday morning I had a text from the tech that he would be there at the scheduled time. Before he arrived he also sent me another text to let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time and was very professional about doing his work.
