Yes, they also damaged my rain sensor. I didn't realize the sensor wasn't working and had to operate it manually. This all happened after they replaced my windshield. Broke my windshield 2/17 - booked an appointment with Safelite online for the 19th, paid the $421, day of my appointment I get a phone call from them explaining they got the wrong type of glass and they'd have to reschedule. I rescheduled for them to come on the 22nd, the technician shows up, started getting the glass out of his van, comes to my door and tells me now there is something wrong with this glass and he cannot replace the windshield they will call me to reschedule. Safelite called me to reschedule but unfortunately I did miss that call due to being at work and not having the opportunity to take the call. I called back to reschedule and the lady on the phone told me they refunded my $421 and i'll have to go back online and put another service request in and have to pay them again??? I called Delaware Auto Glass - they were able to get a technician out next day and fix my windshield within 30mins - first try. Had been sent there by insurance company to replace front windshield. Two days after the window was replaced I returned to my car finding the rearview mirror hanging from the windshield. Guess the didn't screw the mirror back on? Anyhow I tried contact the store plus their customer support for 3 days trying to get this mirror put back on. When I set up the appointment, I had a promo code that gave me $130 off -- image attached. I provided that information to the Kirkwood site point of contact (Jillian), who advised she would be sharing with the manager. Never heard back. Also sent an email to Safelite's corporate customer service never heard back. Then I disputed it with my credit card (Amex). I suppose Amex just withheld the $130 from the payment, because Safelite just sent me a bill for $130. I had two cracks in my windshield from a tiny rock. That was the size of 2 quarters. I got a quote of $159. When the technician arrived he explained to me that there would be a blemish on my windshield. I asked him if someone would get my car and say what's that on your windshield and he explained to me yes he then explained to me that my whole windshield could crack and it would be on my dime. I then spoke to a supervisor who was unsympathetic, cocky, arrogant, and just a plain old asshole. The technician was a gentleman. He was very kind, and I did not take my frustration out on him, but I was never told about the blemish. I was never told my entire windshield could crumble into pieces so therefore I sent the technician on his way. I finally found an auto glass place in my area to rectify. My situation was to replace the entire windshield which Safelite should've suggested. I do not recommend Safelite or their services because they do not explain fully what's going to happen before the technician arrives. read more

The store manager told me the parts department dropped the ball and told me he had no idea when it was coming in. One month later they called to tell me it was in. During the call, I was transferred to a representative who, without introduction, appeared to be from my insurance company and he was not. The call seemed smooth at first, and I was informed that Safelite would handle the appointment. Although I initially preferred a body shop I trusted, I was advised that Safelite would coordinate with them. However, the following morning, the body shop manager--someone I know personally--called me to explain that Safelite often disputes work orders, resulting in payment delays of up to six months. He suggested I pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement from Safelite, which seemed impractical. Upon contacting Safelite, I was informed they would cover a maximum of $172 for the repair. They provided an unsatisfactory explanation, claiming repair shops typically acquire glass for $48, which did not align with the actual costs provided by the body shop and my research. Reluctantly, I accepted Safelite's appointment, which was scheduled a week later. Despite receiving multiple confirmation messages, I was informed halfway through the appointment window that the part hadn't arrived. When I inquired why I wasn't notified earlier, I was told that parts are checked only on the day of service--a perplexing and inefficient practice. My appointment was rescheduled for another week, while the crack in my window continued to worsen. The following week, despite further confirmations, I was once again informed on the day of service that the part was missing. I contacted Safelite and spoke with a courteous representative Julian who confirmed the same ineffective policy. I then reached out to Safelite's corporate office and spoke with a general manager who apologized but failed to follow up as promised. My service was rescheduled for an additional two weeks out. Last Thursday, I decided to check on the part status. I spoke with Brittany, a representative who was exceptional. She discovered that the part had been misplaced but ensured it was brought to the office, and the service was finally completed on the scheduled day. The mechanic who performed the service was professional and courteous. While I commend the individual employees at Safelite's Kirkwood Hwy location in Wilmington, DE, for their efforts, the overall experience was marred by poor policies and management. The lack of proper part tracking and communication was unacceptable. In conclusion, my experience with Safelite was highly unsatisfactory. I would not recommend their services based on this ordeal, which validated the concerns raised by my body shop's manager. Cracked windshield. Got scheduled, paid deductible, changed windshield, no problem - until...my car is tagged in PA. My windshield was changed in Delaware. They would not give me the registration stickers. Indeed, I was told that it is illegal for them to do so. WRONG! My inspection was still valid. I was told they had no way to cut that section of windshield out. Really?! So, I have to have my car inspected again - and I have pay for that. So irritating. Arrived 10 minutes late for my appointment due to snowfall that slowed traffic. When I arrived I was then rudely told that I would need to reschedule my appointment. Nowhere in any messages, appointment communications, or otherwise, was it stated that they operated in such a manner that if you arrived late that your appointment would be canceled. That's just lazy, and rude. If you have archaic polices in place because you don't want to work, that's fine, but the rest of the world keeps turning and believe it or not their are companies and people that do want to work and appreciate business unlike your company. This is my 2nd review of the shop within 5 months. Previous review was 5 stars - they repaired the simple chip, and repair lasted. Unfortunately, my windshield took another hit - to the center - and a large 6 inch crack appeared (glass quality is getting cheaper). This is a brand new BMW X5- with now less than 8k miles. With electronics, such as camera's/HUD/etc. Originally, quote was inexpensive w/non-OEM glass. But - day before install, they called and recommended OEM glass due to camera's and calibration issues they were having on other new cars. So the quote jumped $800 - and this now went onto insurance.... Install day - needless to say, I was 'worried'. Worried a 'grease monkey' would scratch the car, etc, worried the install would still have electrical faults with the camera/HUD/etc. Luckily - no real issues. Installer was 100% professional, it was done inside, and, despite a few quirks getting the calibration linked up btwn car and their calibration device - it's a done deal! Three days now - glass is still new. And, just like my previous note - waiting room was clean (Keurig and waters), and the wifi worked. This is a great shop - but I really, really hope I don't need to go back anytime soon! read more

What a terrible experience we are having with safelite. They have come to our home twice with cracked windshields and have rescheduled on us a few times. Today they rescheduled on us and we spoke with multiple very rude representatives who yelled at us, hung up on us, and asserted that I was lying that I wasn't calling about a 2018 Mazda. I asked to have a manager call me back and they said they don't have one at that location. It has been a terrible experience overall and we still don't have a windshield replacement. Why don't you enforce the state's law and your own policy of face mask wear in the waiting area? With the number of COVID cases on an exponential rise it is extremely irresponsible. You even have signs displayed prominently before you enter, but you allow some customers to defy the mask order which you obviously ignore. Had a rock hit my windshield on a highway. Had to postpone the date of service several times and was concerned if I would have to replace the windshield. Tech came out and instantly said he can repair it. He kindly forewarned me that there is a possibility of the crack spreading and would require a replacement if that were to occur. In asking probability, he stated with confidence he had a 99% success rate. I thanked him for the advance notice, I was prepared to replace and pay $100 after insurance if necessary. I had a windshield replaced a couple years prior for the same damage, and they had done a wonderful job without issue with my car's Eyesight use. Within 20 minutes, the repair was done with minimal noticeability. Which, he also preemptively warned a repair will still be able to see the spot. Highly recommend. read more

First the technician called gave time and didn't show up on time about 2 hours late. Second, he put in the wrong windshield. Third left glass in door and in different areas. There is damage on the inside panel but not sure if he did it or the person that broke window did it. I didn't give a 1 because he gave me a discount for his lateness and me having to drive somewhere that it wasn't raining cause when he came late, it started pouring down rain. Anyhow, the window wouldn't go up or down after installation and he spayed lube. The next day it would not go up or down so the warranty covered them to come out and install a new window. That's when I noticed the damage so I took my car to their shop and the manager says that they did not do that. I am including the pic. See what u think..... I scheduled my appointment online through my insurance company and it was for 5pm. They close at 5pm. I took the car earlier after finding out the closing time. Dropped it off and before I got back home received a call and text that it was completed. I was in no hurry to get the car so I picked it up the next day. Replacement was excellent. Looked like a better windshield than was initially on the car and they put the "oil change" sticker on the new windshield. For context, the car belongs to my teen drivers. The service was exceptional. The guys were really nice and worked with me. I have another car with a cracked windshield and will definitely be taking it to them. read more

These guys did an excellent job. Not only did they keep my appointment on time, they had me in and out and I'm just a little over an hour, they vacuumed out my car and put some smell good in there. They were pleasant, respectful. I only paid 22 bucks for new windshield wiper blades including the wiper arms with no additional installation charge. They gave me new velcro sticky for my EZ Pass, they even put my oil change sticker back on the new windshield. Wish I could give Safelite zero stars! So my car got broken into and needed to get the window replaced. I was able to drop it off and it was worked on while I was at work and I was able to pick it up after. I thought this was great. Boy was I wrong! I also had to get part of the door fixed from the break in so I took it to a body shop. When I picked up my car they asked if I got my window fixed at Safelite. I said yes because i needed to get the window fixed immediately. They weren't surprised. They said when Safelite installed the window they broken several parts on the inside of my car door, including one that was part of my handle. They said Safelite just uses screws to hold the broken pieces in place. (Luckily my insurance was able to cover the cost of this damage don't by Safelite). I was absolutely appalled. This is completely unacceptable and I will never be going back to Safelite again and will be sharing my story with everyone!!!!!! read more

This location is horrible. DO NOT USE. I set an appointment 3 weeks out for my new Honda pilot. I was told that they had to order the glass since it was a new Model. I was told two days before my scheduled appointment via email, that they needed my vin number and needed to order the glass. This information was given up front. When I tried to call the location, I could not get through to a human and was put on hold for long periods of time. I emailed the information that they needed to order the glass asking for someone to call me for an update. After three days of not reply, I waited on hold again for a VERY long time to be told that they did not receive my VIN number and needed to order the glass. I was also told that the person who received my email was on vacation and that is why they did not receive the information. I pulled my business from Savelite and moved on to Shield Tech Auto Glass. read more
