    Birthday Cake

Wow and beautiful! The staff at Safeway Bakery-Dixon put all their heart into making my mom in laws 80 birthday cake. I took them and image and asked for pastel pink colors. Their skill and efforts really came through. Thank You to all the Bakers!

    Order delivery wait

I love shopping at Safeway but I will NEVER order home delivery again. They have no control over their delivery service. I placed an order to be delivered between 3pm and 5pm. My order was ready before 3pm. The time is 4:18pm and I'm still waiting for the driver to come to Safeway so my order can be delivered. My order finally arrived at 4:50pm. Not Good Safeway!!!

Is this the most filthy Safeway in California? Right next to the bakery and pharmacy are the two restrooms. I shop here about 2-3 times a month (I've stopped now). The bathrooms are always the worst with no care or cleaning. Safeway overall isn't a quality market chain. Poorly managed and intentionally overcharging its customer base but the restrooms are inexcusable next to food and medicine. Foods such as diary are often EXPIRED per dates and not rotated. Nugget Markets and Whole Foods can run circles around a Safeway. Photos attached of the Dixon, CA Safeway / Pitt School road exit off Hwy-80.

The two tier 8 inch round cake wasn't structurally sound.

*** This is more of a tip than a review*** I live by the Mayfair fairgrounds/ Dixon HS so I'm not too far from Safeway. I went to pick up my cake which was ready and sitting out on the baking rack, waiting to be boxed. If you order a buttercream frosted cake and the weather is above 80*, bring a cooler or something to put the cake in on the ride home because blasting A/C and pointing all vents towards the passenger seat will not help. Unfortunately, the $27.99 cake did not survive the 10 minute ride home. I decided to "just go with it" because what else could I have done at this point? Would refrigerating it have let the frosting stiffen up more before pick up? Maybe. The cake was beautiful when I initially saw it. Although the cake wasn't aesthetically pleasing after the ride home, the taste was still on point. Overall, the store is clean and the customer service has been professional. There's barely any fresh seafood in the meat department- most of the seafood can be found in the freezer section. Sometimes, stock can be hit or miss but I consider that more of a supply chain / availability issue.

No longer open 24 hours. That's fine- I'm usually not looking to go grocery shopping then. Mighty convenient having a gas station attached, even though that's a separate Yelp listing. If you absolutely need something between the hours of 12am and 4am, head over to the 24 hour open Walmart.

This tri-tip from the meat department at Dixon Safeway was one-third fat! The rest of the store is great, but meat buyer, beware.

Close to home for a quick trip to the store. Great selection at the deli counter.

Best tamales in town I wouldn't go anywhere else but here I stop every time I'm in the townread more

I was on my way home from the bay and needed to make a pit stop. Get out stretch, bathroom and a…read morelittle shopping to get me though the rest of the trip. This was actually my 2nd stop of the trip. The first stop was in Fairfield at Lowes. Another solid stop. As I was driving to Pedrick I made a mental note to myself of what I could get that was useful. I wrote on my list onions as they are only 89 cents for the yellow ones and a great deal. Also on the list were their pork tamales for a quick lunch when I got back. As it turns out when I got home my husband thought the same thing and stopped at McDonalds and got me a fish sandwich so I wan't wanting for food when I got home. Good thing we now have tamales ($2.89 each) for dinner. That's one less meal I have to plan. Lastly the most tasty and pricy purchase was going to be fresh strawberries. I got 3 baskets for $9.99 or close to that. I had some when I got home and they are more tasty than the ones in the grocery store. Though they aren't as good as the ones at the woodland Strawberry festival. Maybe I'm buying them off season. I was here July 15, 2026 around 12:30pm. On my way out I noticed the half price items on the cart out front. Lots of items were 99 cents or half off. You're not sure of the regular price so I wasn't sure if it would still be a good deal or not as could we actually eat that much. I picked up a bag of 2 heads/stalks of broccoli and a bag of zucchini, maybe 7 in the bag. I first took my haul to the car before checking out again. As it turns out the Broccoli and Zucchini were under $2 together. What a deal. The Tamales have gotten better. They have a new supplier and now there is less masa and more filling. They started off good, then they went really went down hill fast. They were all masa and little filling. It was really bad and we stopped buying them. We I saw they were packaged differently I inquired if they had a new supplier and the said yes, someone more local, I forgot exactly where they said they were from. We gave these new tamales a try and were happily surprised. The price over the years has really gone up in price too. The bathrooms are a great relief. This is a perfect stop for us on our way to and from the bay. They have 2 plumbed bathrooms and 2 outhouses. I had to use the outhouse last time as we got there before they opened and they were still cleaning the bathrooms after they opened. It wasn't that bad. The cleaning truck was just pulling away when I used the port o potty so I wasn't the first user after they cleaned it. I am just thankful that they have bathrooms and you don't have to make a purchase to use them. Tortillas are the best here. They are locally made and we love them. So much better than ones they sell at Raley's. Even though they are homemade they still last a while without going moldy. We've never had them mold on us. With the great deals on produce, great tortillas, and the bathroom situation we will continue to make this our stop. Between the two of us we are here nearly every week so we are always well stocked in produce and tortillas.

The boxes they use are definitely big enough for 10" pies, but they currently sell 9" pies (for $30). The pies are excellent, don't get me wrong. Theres sooo much hype about this place so we went to go try!!…read more Its in very rural davis-ish. Its like a plot of dirt then the lil stand. They have their famous pies as well as produce and some other stuff, but its a very small shop with like 4 tables outdoors. Def a stop on your way somewhere, not necessarily a destination. Their pie slices were like $8 a slice and a whole pie was $30. They also had many more options for whole pies vs pie slices, but its possible its because we went later in the day? They had some savory pies, cold pies, but mostly baked pies like peach, various berries, etc! They also have fruit freezes you can purchase too! We ended up sharing a banana cream pie and i got a peach pie too. The banana cream pie was HEFTY. It was HEAVY and PACKEDDDD. A LOT of cream a LOT of banana filling. Very yummy though and feeds a lot more people than you'd think. The peach pie was also very good! Im not a huge "cooked fruit" person and neither is mt family but we demolished the pie. The peaches were a surprisingly nice texture! And the crust was very good. $30 is a bit steep but if theyre using fresh fruits and baking them fresh its worth a stop if youre in the area!
