I get my meats and most produce from other grocery stores and stopped by to check out their organic and gluten-free food selection. They had options I could not find at Whole Foods or PCC, such as Annie's snickerdoodle gluten-free cookies and vanilla sandwich cookies (plus some other options I'm interested in trying out). Also carry gluten-free bread by Franz and another brand about $1 less than the other stores, as well as gluten free tortillas (made in part with TEFF flour). The organic produce was hit and miss, but the prices were competitive with the above-mentioned stores. Strawberries were ripe to perfection, the bananas ripened quick (maybe because it's getting warmer?), and the fuji apples tasted great but a couple were going bad at the core. Still the gluten-free section surprised me so I'll keep coming back for that reason. read more

Things have not changed in this store. I asked a woman with a Safeway badge on, where are your batteries? She just looked at me and said "I don't know" and walked away. The produce section still sucks! Bought a bag of mini peppers and there were 2 moldy ones in the bag. The guy in produce has worked there for years. The produce is bad! It is so frustrating. On the other hand there are some nice people that work there, but that should be a requirement. read more

DO NOT USE DEBT CARDS at this location. Pay cash instead. They add $100.00 hold if you use debit card. May take as long as 7 days for hold to clear. That means for that length time you do not have access to your money...THEY DO, and they are not paying you interest. On 16Feb19 I bought $22.55 at the gas pump. As I was pulling away, I received a text alert from my financial institution, indicating a charge for $122.55 had posted to my account. In all fairness, when I went back to the pump a sign was posted indicating debit card users would have this "hold" added to their checking account. Does not pass the "smell test" to me. read more

I received my flu shot here and the pharmacist who administered it did a great job. It was quick and speedy. I also was offered a store coupon for getting my vaccination from Safeway. I really enjoyed my experience here, and if it were closer to home, I would probably fill my prescriptions here too. read more

this safeway sucks. the self checkouts are always broken and the lines are forever (because they're understaffed, not because it's THAT busy). But whatever, I can deal with that. What I can't and won't deal with is rude staff. The lady that works the self checkout (wears neck scarves and glasses) is so incredibly rude. every single time I go there. I thought it was just me she didn't like (don't know why) but then my dad, who goes to the same store, told me a story about a rude checkout lady and he said "its the one that wears the scarf" and I knew it. She is honestly so awful that I have stopped going to that store because of her. I felt like I was burden and annoyance every time I went. go down the street to QFC. It's sad that stores in my hood suck but some do and this one takes the prize for sucking the most . I'm a big fan of good costumer service this Safeway seems to go out of it's way to piss on ever costumer that walks in its door . The staff loves to talk and talk and talk , guess what I love pay and go , so talk the blue haired old ladies another time . Asking staff question hell I would rather wrestle a grizzle bear a naked with both arms behind my back . My worst trip I had to pick up medicine that my doctor had faxed over there when I arrived to pick it up 2 hours later they had not even started on it . I had to wait in the store for 45 minutes with a 102 temp , F that . Now rite aid is my drug store . read more

While I could bring up a couple complaints concerning Kenmore Safeway, I'm going to focus on the pharmacy. The main pharmacist seems unhappy and grouchy almost all the time. Not only that. he and other pharmacists or techs at Kenmore Safeway pharmacy stand at their podium and ask the customers to shout out there prescriptions to them instead of walking down to the register. There is no privacy. I do not feel comfortable shouting in my neighborhood store that I need a refill on my anti-depressants and hormone suppositories. I'm heading back to Rite Aid. I gave Safeway a try because of convienence, not worth it. read more

Always packed, service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are really friendly and other times not so much! Produce is good quality, but a bit pricey. They are the only full scale grocery store in Kenmore (I don't count grocery outlet, since they have limited selections) Would be nice to have a Trader Joe's here to give them some competition and us shoppers more choices! read more

Jalapeno/Cheddar Bagels are AWESOME!!!! I drive across town just to pick up a couple. No other Safeway or and other grocery store makes bagels so fresh and delicious. Seriously, TRY ONE. read more

We got our car damaged (hit and run) right in front of the main entrance while shopping at their store; and the store manager lied about their camera system. One of his assistants said that the cameras might have caught the offender, while the manager says that the cameras have been broken and he does not know for how long. If they lie about a simple thing, it makes me wander about their integrity when it comes to what Mr. Mike Bauer would do to make a profit......granted I have a heavy accent so it might have been just been just plain dismissive to me because of it. Anyways, I would not recommend going to a store where the store manager is just plain and simple not truthful, respectful and has this customers best interests. read more

Kenmore is growing and so are the demands on the local businesses. Safeway often seems short staffed and we have found quite a few items that are expired. The Safeway pharmacy has always been good with a fast turn around. The Starbucks has also been a nice touch. read more

Super shortstaffed. Can never find anybody to help me, find or get anything, and checking out always takes at least 15 minutes... At night they have one register open which isn't enough for how busy this location is, and have the slowest person working it. I will never come back to the store. I will drive to a further and less convenient store that is not is well stocked just so I don't have to deal with this crap again. read more

I love spending time in here after purchasing my London Fog latte from Starbucks (inside) and sip while contemplating my grocery items for our next meal. I have to stock up on certain items so my child does not go hungry. Continuously feeding a teenager is a neverending saga of my life. Service and staff are friendly. Just a quick jaunt from my place off BG trail. Great location too to purchase quality gasoline. read more

This is where I do most of my grocery shopping, and there's a reason for that. It's got a good selection, it's nearly always very neat, the prices are reasonable, and the service is generally quite polite. (Just shop during the day. It's a 24-hour store, but shopping at night can be an adventure, as it is in many grocery stores -- boxes all over the place left by folks restocking the shelves, and a "ring bell for service" checkout system where there isn't always someone in range to hear the bell.) read more

I come here more for gas than shopping. I am used to the store in Juanita and this is almost a mirror image, but I always get lost here.

I recently shopped here and 3 of the 5 things I purchased were incorrectly priced (i paid more than the posted price in every case). A 60% pricing inaccuracy seems pretty suspect and is a pretty sketchy business strategy. I've been shopping at the Bothell Fred Meyer for over 7 years and I've maybe seen 1 or two pricing inaccuracies ever! It cant be that hard to get it right. read more

We've been Safeway shoppers for many years but I think the cracks of their acquisition by Albertsons is starting to show. We purchased $174. of groceries on 11/20/20 and supposedly qualified for the free turkey. When we got home which is several miles away, I saw we we're charged $25.54 for a 17 lb. turkey. I don't even think the was the reduced turkey price. Anyway, I reached out online to their customer svc. as I often had when being overcharged. They repeatedly asked for copies of my receipt - which I don't understand since in the past they could just look it up. Anyway after about 10 back and forth emails, they just stopped communicating. I finally called the store and they said they would refund it. But get this - I was told by the 3rd manager that not only is the standard alcohol not included in the $150. purchase, DAIRY was not allowed. WHAT??? DAIRY? How sleazy is that? What brilliant, $$ grubbing marketing person cam upon that cheap shot idea? I'll never trust Safeway again and be sure to read every receipt B4 I leave the store. So to heck with Safeway - I guess it's Kroger from now on an read every tiny print line of a promotion. Shame on you Albertsons AND Safeway! read more

Kenmore has two grocery stores. This store and a Gross Out. (Grocery Outlet) The selection here is much better, the prices are frankly about the same.They have a deli with typical deli stuff for when you don't want to prepare your own food.. I tend to shop late at night so I appreciate the fact that this store is open 24 hours. Some of the late night checkers (aka stock people) were definitely hired for their stocking ability not for their customer service skills. The day time checkers are good. We do all our shopping here. Generally good selection, nice discount on gas. Note to bakery manager. We have been buying your pain aux chocolat for several years. Recently it has been substituted for something that looks like a bearclaw filled with chocolate nibs. It's just not the same and is a poor substitute. Please go back to offering more traditional pain aux chocolat. Will revise to 5 stars with favorable response. Staff here are pretty friendly. That's a pleasant surprise for a grocery store. It's not my go-to market but the closest one around so that's convenient. I appreciate their small bakery in the morning for something basic and quick. The Starbucks inside is also convenient, if you like Starbucks. They have a decent selection of flowers and plants, if you're in a pinch. Their deli is so-so but it's there. All in all, they have everything, although it's not on a larger or more qualitative scale but still very convenient if you don't care. read more

After waiting around to get my lunch for about 20 minutes standing there while employes walked right past me I went to get something else and was followed the whole time by a manager. I walked up to self checkout, PAYED then was told I wasn't allowed back in the store because I appeared to be with 2 kids (both a lot younger than me) who stole things. The manger (Mike) also told me that I walked around the store trying to get away with what I had in my hand. If that's how a manger treats customers I have no idea how this place gets business I will never be going back and will tell everyone I know not too as well. read more

Sad unhappy employees, with an unfriendly uncaring attitude. But I guess if I had to work at Safeway I would not be thrilled either. Talked to the manager about Safeway Diet Cola Soda, that they are always out of, rows and rows of lime soda, and never any Diet Cola Soda, none in the back ever. The new Bothell store is a short drive from this dump and its a much more pleasant experience and worth the drive to always find what I need. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I live walking distance so this location would seem convenient yet this place is so poorly operated I'd save time driving miles somewhere better run, and I do that now. Every once in a while I think I'll run in and grab a few things really quick but that's never an option. Never more than one checkout lane open, and the selfcheck machines are awful! The aisles are always clogged with all the stockers they have yet there's no one there to get people out the building. I've had to leave everything I wanted to buy simply because I didn't have the time to sit in line for a half hr checkout and that's how long it takes more often than not. You can never run in and out of this place quickly. More cashiers would be a start, but this place is so poorly managed and operated I doubt they'll ever change so I'll keep driving to Freddy's, or literally anywhere else haha. read more
