We didn't see any employees pumping gas while we were there. They have snack and beverage vending machines available as well. Overall, we got what we needed, gas! The pump we used had a crappy lever on it. It kept clicking off like the tank was full, but we only had about a quarter tank when we stopped in. We ended up putting $80 of gas in the tank, but had to hold the pump lever the entire fill-up. A bit annoying.

For about the last year we've started getting so much spoiled food. The produce has been really the worst. Its moldy upon arrival or within 24 hours. Yes they will refund you but then youre out of the item. Theres a minimum charge of $35 or pay a delivery fee aside from paying the monthly service fee to have delivery. I cant justify a second fee to replace a rotted 70 cent onion I needed today. Now if your chosen item is out of stock and your substitute is out of stock the shopper will pick. When that happens, the choice is nowhere near the item I picked and without fail, always more expensive. The approve or reject time window is down to a few minutes. Our order this last weekend was awful but I dont think its the shopper. I barely caught a totally different substitution. The screen refreshed once and 36 items were all "shopped" at the same moment. The temp hold amount has gone from $10-$20 above the total to now between $60 and $75 above the total. Its not a container deposit, thats a separate line item in the total and my substitution choices are the same price or less. I know the actual cost even if I were to get substitutions, so how do they justify that much plus holding it for a week? Ive even had Walmart charge me twice on the same order plus the temp hold. The worst one on an order that was less than $200. We were charged twice and Walmart took OVER $500 out of our account. And it wasnt a one time mistake. Its happened twice in less than a year. I am so tired of the BS from them. Ive contacted the corporate office, the BBB and left so many feedback forms. Nothing changes and I've never been contacted or even received an acknowledgement.

I had forgotten that I was paying with a return credit slip and mentioned that it was a complicated return policy, as I got out the return ticket he mentioned that it was meant to be difficult so as to deter customers from returning items. I than said to him that that wasn't good for customer relations to which he uttered "you can always shop somewhere else!" I couldn't believe what I had just heard... I'm a retired produce manager who worked for over 38 years serving the public and have received 20 Outstanding Service Awards! Had I ever spoken to customers like Terry did I would have been reprimanded and or fired! I have shopped Bi Marts in both Florence, Oregon and Lincoln City, Oregon for 8 years and have never been treated or spoken to with such disgrace by any clerk! Like the previous review, I also had a mortifying experience at Rite Aid…read more 7.24.24 1:15 PM I had a Paxlovid script (Covid anti-viral) called in by my doctor who told me I didn't need to isolate, but wear a mask. I, masked in N95 - no cough, went to pick up the script and the woman behind the desk asked my info, saw what I was there for and freaked out on me: "YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE! IF I GET COVID, I COULD DIE!" I responded with "WELL I HAD CANCER!" She wouldn't help me so I went to the front desk to pay for my items. I asked for a manager, and none were there. A customer who witnessed this unprofessional behavior followed me to the front and said she was so sorry that happened to me and saw how poorly I was treated. The employee told me "they didn't have that (Paxlovid) here." I then checked the website and it says Rite Aid carries it. I call the pharmacy and wait 36 minutes on hold to talk to a Pharmacist, who was very nice. Turns out Rite Aid's supplier hasn't sent them Paxlovid so she said I can have another pharmacy transfer the script. Helpful! I called Safeway and they picked up the phone immediately. Have Paxlovid in stock, no problem. They fax over a request at 2:45pm. My husband went to pick up after 5 pm and Rite Aid, hadn't yet sent over the script. Called again, no wait time, and took care of it. Safeway, Freddy's, and Walmart all have the drug in stock and won't treat you like a leper. I posted online in the Newport FB group about this horrible experience and this employee has a long history of treating people poorly and has been reported multiple times. Why is she still employed? Why is someone who can die of Covid working behind the desk AT A PHARMACY?I Also, a suggestion: if you don't want sick people coming into a store that's called a PHARMACY, put a big sign out front directing customers to drive-thru! Tell them you don't carry the drug. Have masks available and hand sanitizer at the door! Also, call people who have the drug called in and tell them you don't have it and then they don't come for it. Problems all solved and no customer will be treated with disrespect - against Rite Aid's Code of Ethics and poor business!

Joining the Hi-School franchise really improved their pharmacy service, but they have kept a great selection in the "gift" part as well. They definitely have a bit of everything in pharmaceuticals/beauty products/beer & wine/etc - not a giant selection, but enough that if you're visiting or a local and need something in a hurry, they can meet your needs (at a decent price.) Plus, they're very friendly to both their employees and their customers.
