Just like any other store around, it would always be in your best interest to pay attention to sticker prices and weekly specials , as shopping smart can always save you money. Worst customer service ever. This store is close to my home so I usually grab food here. I bought a lottery scratch card here one day and won 20 dollars. I came at normal store hour and they have the sign on the customer service desk saying 8am - 8pm service time. But I waited there like 10 mins, no one was there. Then a cashier with very impatient face asked what I need. She said "we don't have anyone here"... but then a male asked him something else and she called another staff to help him LOL. Two stars because they're in the process of remodeling, or at the very least, a facelift, otherwise it's a solid one star. Pre-pandemic it was a dirty-feeling store, but mostly well-stocked. During the pandemic, while I understand things aren't status quo, they routinely have bare shelves when the other stores nearby are fully stocked (and I'm talking about ice cream and cheese-type things, not toilet paper and whatever else people hoarded). Oh, and it's still feels and looks dirty. This morning at 9 am it was nearly impossible to walk through the store because each aisle was blocked with carts and staff stocking the shelves. Great in theory, but they were still out of many, many things. I agree with other reviews that mention the customer service desk isn't staffed, and can be difficult to get someone to come over to help. The little office near there had two employees chatting it up while I waited (and waited and waited) for assistance. I ended up giving up after almost 10 minutes. The cashier I had today was so new, I felt bad for him. He had to ask me what some of the produce items were I was buying, because he had no idea how to ring them up. I mostly come here for the Amazon locker located inside the store. This Safeway is conveniently open from 5am to 2am every day. I sometimes come here for miscellaneous packaged goods, which can be priced reasonably. Depends on the item. I never come here for produce, which I can find much cheaper at Sprouts or independent grocers. Having a Safeway membership will get you the discount price on many items. Definitely worth having. Your membership is registered with a phone number, so you can leave the membership card at home and punch your phone number in on the keypad when checking out. I no longer have my old phone number, but it still works just fine at Safeway! This Safeway also sells a ton of gift cards: Amazon, Target, Southwest, Airbnb, Home Depot and Arco, to name just a few. If you purchase them with a credit card that gives you bonus cashback for grocery stores, that's some serious savings! read more

Front end manager Linda was extremely rude and condescending to two teenagers, who were being very calm and respectful. They were walking around the store with their bikes, after another employee had told them it was allowed. Out of nowhere, Linda started yelling at them, being unnecessarily angry while the two boys were just trying to figure out why the rules for bikes differed based on the employee. She kicked them out, even though they were just walking their bikes, not even riding them. They were clearly being very safe, and her hostility was uncalled for. Ten minutes later, I witnessed her doing another concerning thing. A man was walking with a clear limp, and he asked her if he could use the electric shopping cart, designed for people with disabilities. She noticed his handicap, yet told him no in a very offensive way. It was clear there was no reasoning behind her blocking this man's usage, an odd action that no manager should take. Kudos that they added accurate and mostly on time curbside pickup, at least for my 8AM pickups during COVID without extra fee. When I gave them 48 hours, they were more likely to even be ready before the time. Just make sure to give detailed instructions in the notes to shopper about what you wish for in case a special diet item is not available, like, okay to substitute another special diet flavor otherwise you may be given the regular item. This review is directed for the meat department only. For the record produce and other departments are great. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to the meat department there is NEVER an actual butcher that will complete requests. Literally for a little over the past 6 months no one is ever helpful. They will only serve you what is behind the counter, but are never able to go out of their way to do special orders. For example on Tuesday 8/27/19 I went around 2pm and asked if the could thinly slice the chicken breasts into around 4 pieces each breast, the so called "butcher" was like "no sorry we cant do that." He was wearing a butchers outfit, there was blood on his apron. Whats the point of having a meat counter if there are never any butchers to service them. I was thinking maybe its only around certain days and times, but I go in the morning, afternoon, evening, and nights and not one person has been helpful. The store has friendly staffs; they actually talk to their customers on the cashier's end asking about their day, small talks and such. For the last 3 years, this Safeway has not let me down. Safeway Bakery review. If it's not one thing, it's another. I ordered a half sheet cake ($40), filled with both custard and raspberry jam ($5 extra). I haven't had good luck with the cake decoration at other Safeway locations, so I ordered it plain white. No decoration, no lettering. When I went to pick it up, I was told it had been filled with custard and fresh raspberries. Rather than leave empty-handed, I still bought the cake, knowing the birthday person would be disappointed with it. The lady at the bakery was nice (I guess) and was hopeful everyone would enjoy it with the fresh raspberries... but there's a reason I ordered what I ordered. We know what we like. And critically, jam in a cake freezes and defrosts fine, while fresh berries don't perform so well when frozen. Offer me a discount if your team messes up my order. Still a pretty good cake, but certainly not the cake we were hoping to eat. It was indeed a disappointment that Safeway had botched the order. read more

The last handful of times I went to this location I had some meh experiences. I tend to use the self check out because I only have handful of items. Those machines are confused all the time! When there is an item on sale, I get charged full price. When I find help its hit or miss too. There was one time I was frustrated with the self check out that I ended up waiting in line at the register. So far this is my least favorite Safeway that I have been to. Went on a weekday after work, and only three registers (of six or so) were open- all had lines so long they were snaking into the aisles and clogging up traffic. My line easily took 15 minutes, and I was fourth in line. Cashier was friendly and made conversation about nearly every item she scanned- which, if there were no ling, would not have been a problem. However, I can't help but feel that if she would shut her mouth and scan instead of think of comments to make, the line would move faster. Additionally, I found the produce to be underripe (especially citrus) and overpriced- especially bell peppers. $1.50 EACH for bell peppers is ridiculous. THEN you have the balls to post signage saying it's local? Shouldn't it be cheaper, since it didn't have to be trucked in from another state or flown in from another country? It's absurd that I spent nearly $10 on peppers and onions to make fajitas, not including the meat. Very disappointed. Also- what's up with the pet area? I can buy two or three different kinds of cat litter, but I can't buy a new litter box, just a flimsy tray for temporary use? Why not/what gives? read more
