Review Irresponsible, inconsiderate, and highly disorganized. GO ELSEWHERE. We drove an hour to this dealer to purchase a new truck. Purchase was surprisingly quick and smooth, since we had planned on paying sticker price with no need for long negotiation. Immediately after the sale, the fun started. We noticed a loud rattle coming from the rear of the truck during the drive home--turns out there was a warp in one of the exhaust pipes, causing it to constantly make contact with the inner frame. Problem one that should've been caught by the dealer. We also noticed a very deep scratch over the rear wheel well. One that was clearly made by something metal, and one that was made prior to purchase. Problem two that should've been caught by the dealer. We made a return drive back to Lindsay immediately after coming home--to reiterate, it's a one-hour per way drive. The truck was taken back and the exhaust pipe issue was remedied. The paint would require ANOTHER trip back the following day, since their paint guy was only there on Wednesdays. Here we are at Wednesday--yet another hour-long trip to the dealer. We arrive at 8:30, which is the time we were told by sales associate David to meet both he and the paint guy. Neither are there when we arrive. Finally another sales person and the manager stroll in to greet, and take us back to the service desk. They set us up with a loaner car, and proceed to demand we sign a rental agreement stating that we will return the loaner car with a full tank and give them a credit card for said loaner. We give the credit card, but give full refusal on refilling their tank for a loaner they're giving us for a problem THEY are responsible for. They should be filling that tank, and topping off our truck's tank for all of the driving we've been forced to do to fix the problems THEY allowed to walk out the door. Our truck is being taken off-site for the paint fix, yet they don't tell us where. We had to use the GMC app to track the location and see where they took it. We were given no estimate of a finish time or date. We called David repeatedly on Wednesday, and he was unreachable. When we then called on Thursday to speak to the dealer manager, he also was out of office. We are now stuck in limbo with a crappy loaner car and our brand new truck at another dealer, with no clarity on when this problem that shouldn't have even occurred on a (massive) new sale will be resolved. We will continue to update, but we are confident this dealer deserves nothing more than a single star, and likely less. Complete mess of a process and toying with their customers' lives, schedules, and money with zero accountability...we wanted to scream at the other lone customer we saw on Tuesday to go elsewhere as quickly as possible (you definitely should). We are more than excited to go to a closer and infinitely better GMC dealer to refinance this vehicle shortly so that the sale is no longer Lindsey GMC's. Their response: a canned one urging US to contact their GM, versus what any other business would do and immediately contact the customer to resolve issues (they didn't even check to confirm that we'd indeed emailed him before posting a review). Zero stars. Truck was finally returned to us. Gas tank was left just half full from all the driving and miles that Lindsay did to and from the paint shop location. And even more, the back quarter panel looks infinitely worse than it did. Pock marks, speckling, additional scratches and gouges. We had called the dealer location that we tracked the truck to, and they had no record of a GMC being serviced in any way. This means the paint job that Lindsay did on our vehicle had no paperwork and no approval by us...it was a back-alley, under the table job set by Tim, the manager of Lindsay Warrenton. Upon speaking to him about the additional damage, he again offered no insight into the problems caused and also expressed not the slightest hint of remorse. As stated by one of Tim's employees: "the most you'll help you'll get from him is a tank of gas, if that." read more

A couple of years ago, we bought a used car from Lindsey. All went well, and we bought the extended warranty service offered by the dealership. We paid for the service in full. A year later, the car was involved in an accident, and was totaled. So we applied to have the warranty service money returned to us, as the car does not exist anymore. We visited them in person on two occasions, where we got the run-around and no money returned. We attempted to contact them a third time, and they say now that they have no record of the transaction. These attempts have all occurred over a period of about a year and a half now. We believe now that they never had any intention of returning our money. We will never again buy a vehicle, or anything else, from this shameful establishment ever again. read more

One of the worst car shopping experiences I have ever had due to them repeatedly changing prices. I recommend you shop elsewhere. I saw a vehicle I liked online and emailed Lindsay about it. In my correspondence I specifically asked what other fees were associated with the purchase in addition to price. The saleswoman mentioned a $895 processing fee, which is high but VA (unlike MD) doesn't put a cap on these, and of course taxes. I went out the next day to test drive the vehicle and afterwards, when I got the price sheet, surprise! The price sheet contained an additional "Denali fee" of $1500. The fee was supposed to cover mats, some allegedly special covid cleaning, and two years of basic oil changes and tire rotations. As you can imagine, these three things are not worth $1500, plus Lindsay had not mentioned any Denali fee when I specifically asked. I did not buy the car. Later on the saleswoman reached out to me again regarding the vehicle, and we negotiated over pricing. We were so close! When we were about $200 apart, I told her that they should just throw in the mats and I'd agree to their price. She said she had to ask her manager. I was literally driving over to them at the time. When she called me back, again, surprise! She had made some mistake in numbers and now they came back with a higher price than we'd discussed. I turned the car around and went home. Undeterred, the saleswoman reached out to me a third time. I gave her a number and said I would not get in my car to drive over without a firm, written commitment from them on an out-the-door price because they had already changed their price on me twice. But instead of trying to reach a number the saleswoman just kept saying it was end of the month, they had three managers on duty, and that if I came in she was confident we could agree on a number. I refused to come in without a firm, agreed-upon number, given my previous experiences with them, and that was that. Unfortunately, this experience is consistent with the experience I'd had a year or so earlier at their Wheaton location. The lack of transparency on pricing, and their refusal to honor the prices they post or quote you before you come in, appears to be institutional and not something specific to one location. I would not trust them on a deal, and would recommend you buy from someone else. I expect there will be a canned response about how they're sorry about my experience, and they'd like to discuss it, and so on and so forth but given how my experience is consistent across locations, and appears to be in line with what I've heard from others, it seems to me Lindsay is just Lindsay, and this is how they do business, and it's up to consumers to push back and vote with their wallets. read more

The sales guy Casey did a great job. He's newer so conversation was a little awkward but he answered all of our questions and asked someone else if he didn't know the answer. The finance guy however really was the one to irritate me. I understand they make commission so the more I spend then the more they make. He probably asked 10+ times if I wanted to add extra coverage to which I said no. I have my reasons. But to keep being persistent and question my judgement is absolutely disrespectful. I said no politely so take it the first time and leave it. Instead I had to get crappy and say "i'm making these payments, not you". Unless if you want to chuck over the extra money, stop pestering. When negotiating a new car purchase, I received in writing two separate times an out the door "all in" total price. Anyone understands this means vehicle, fees, tax and tags, etc. all included. However, the sales manager Timothy Lee later told me that was just the vehicle price and would need to charge me additionally for taxes etc. and that is standard for what "out the door" prices mean, which is a bald faced lie. Absolutely the worst experience purchasing a Sierra 1500 Denali. I traveled 2 hours one-way to purchase this truck and ended up finalizing the deal on Saturday 3/9/24 and everything was smooth. I contacted the dealership on Sunday 3/10/24 to inquire about the setup of the infotainment system that was not working. I called and asked to speak to the general manager (that I met on Saturday) and the person that answered the phone didn't like my "tone" and hung up the phone. Great customer service!?? As a matter of principle I returned the truck on Sunday afternoon and cancelled the deal. Another 4 hour round trip. The General Manager wasn't helpful and gave a patronizing apology. Don't believe all the hype about how they are customer oriented. Do yourself a favor and go to another dealership. Owner - So I see the same canned response to all negative reviews. Whom do I contact when the issue is Rick Foard? Obviously I'm disappointed with the events that occurred. I would have expected a different response when purchasing an $83K vehicle. This place was very unprofessional and unethical because of how they treated a customer with the purchase of a car which was deemed a lemon (oil consumption) after 3/4 months in, another shop found out that this car needed a new or rebuilt engine!!!! What a way to take advantage of a lady customer knowing that this vehicle was already damaged goods!!! Vehicle was well taken care of with one owner (just as described) and cane with a CarFax guarantee. Eventually, we made a deal and I left happy. Notably, everyone I dealt with at the dealership was polite and friendly and genuinely seemed to want to make sure I was going to leave a happy customer - a stark difference from the numerous dealerships inside the DC Beltway! Drove 5 hours on an over the phone deal with cash in hand and was blind sided by an extra $7,700, which was $4,700 more than I had. Notified then right when I get there which was before they even opened that I had to leave a a certain time and either we could make a deal or we couldn't but I had to leave. Well finally they agreed on a price that was still $1,000 more then I brought so I had to deal with the bank to get more money just to be able to go home with the truck and not have to drive so far a second time. Buyer beware. Here are the additional charges they tried to hit me with: 1. First, I was told it was a different vehicle, (Window stickers for both vehicles; my vehicle was now this one that cost $53,070, no the $52,870 it was supposed to be. 2. They added a $2,000 fee on top of MSRP. The General Sales Manager stated "you can sell this vehicle about MSRP. it will go up when you drive it off the lot. We see it all the time. You can sell it to Caravan for more than we are selling it to you" 3. They added $1,899 "Vehicle paint warranty" fee. When I told them I did not want to pay for that, I was told it was already added by their shop and I had too. 4. The add their $995 Processing fee. 5. They stated the $1,000 Memorial Day sale was only for financing (I do not recall ever seeing this advertised this way) 7. I am not even including get $1,495 delivery fee. In all, I was hit with additional charges of $6,394 and a price tag of over $64,000! Funny thing is I would have accepted all accept the extra 2K uncharge and the $1900 "paint warranty" they "applied before I arrived". Deceitful and manipulative. Had an appointment set up to view a truck on their lot had communication right up to when I arrived (2hr drive one way so 4hrs out of my very rare day off) after the salesman scans my license he comes back and says oh I'm sorry someone just put a deposit down on that truck last night I then look out the window at the truck with the big obvious bright yellow sticker on the windshield "not for sale" had my financing and everything ready the day before from my bank. This being said salesman was atleast polite but then again that's his job so he better be. Not a pleasant experience overall. Btw the truck is still up on multiple sale sights the next day. I have been looking to purchase a car for many months. During that time, I have encountered at two different Lindsay dealerships, the best car salesman that I have met during my search AND the worst car salesman I have met. The best was at Lindsay's Woodbridge location. The worst was at Lindsay's Warrenton location. When I visited Lindsay's Woodbridge location, I related to the salesman there that I was looking for a specific car model with a specific feature set. He admitted that they did not have one there and so searched their other locations online. He found the one I was looking for at their Warrenton location. The Woodbridge salesman called Warrenton to confirm that the car was still there. Once he did, he provided me with the contact information for the salesman he had spoken with in Warrenton. A few days later, wife and I decided to go to see the car. I called the Woodbridge salesman again and asked him to re-confirm that it was still there. He called me back a few minutes later and said he had just spoken with the Lindsay Warrenton salesman, and had been told that the car was there. Warrenton is an hour drive (one way) on back roads from our home, but my wife and I thought it would be worth it if we could finally find a car we both liked. As soon as we received confirmation from the Woodbridge Lindsay salesman that the car was there, we immediately left for Warrenton. When we arrived, I asked to see the salesman we had been referred to. I was surprised when the Warrenton salesman started asking me why we had selected that particular car and then asked me what features we were looking for. I told him I just wanted to look at the car we had driven there to see. He said he had "good news and bad news". He said the good news was that the car was "still available". He said the bad news is that the car wasn't there. I asked how that was possible since the Lindsay Woodbridge salesman had just confirmed an hour before that it was there. The Lindsay Warrenton salesman got pretty defensive and told me that he had told the other salesman that the car was " available" - not that it was there. I immediately called the Lindsay Woodbridge salesman and related the situation to him. He assured me that the Lindsay Warrenton salesman had told him (twice) that the car was THERE. When I related that back to the Warrenton salesman, he continued to deny ever saying that. What made this bizarre situation all the more troubling was that the Warrenton salesman seemed completely indifferent to the fact that my wife and I had driven two hours (there and back) to see a car he never had. No apology. Nothing. In fact he developed quite the attitude about the whole thing. During the discussion, he actually suggested that we come back once the car was there, and said he would "make it worth my while'. I wondered why he thought I would trust him again to honestly tell us it was there. I was almost speechless and assured him that I would not be back. His asking me why I selected that car and what features I was looking for when I first walked in the door really makes me wonder if the Warrenton salesman just lied about having the car to get us to come to Warrenton so he could try and sell us another car. I will never know if that is the case, but it would explain why he would ply me with questions about what kind of car and what features we were looking for when I had come to see a specific car he was supposed to have with those features. I was very impressed with the Lindsay Woodbridge salesman and will probably go back to that dealership. As for the Lindsay Warrenton salesman, he IS the stereotypical sleazy 'used car salesman'. I would never set foot in that dealership again and would recommend that others take care when dealing with that Lindsay location. read more

He went over every detail of the car and asked questions about what was important to us. We test drove the car, which was important to us as I am short and comfort is very important to me. Took the test drive and was waiting to be sold the vehicle, no negations at this point, I was waiting for the sales guy to come back to his desk. The sales manager appears and presents a price over 6k more. I told him I had a price from my credit union and was sent to them. He said he would be right back. I looked up and the original guy that I had an appt with and test drive was sitting with a couple in another cubicle. Then a third guy came over sat down and presented the same price as the mngr. I said we are to far apart to make a deal and left. They were apparently fine, there way or the highway. I purchased the same truck at the credit union price two hours later from a professional dealership. read more

On Saturday April 18, 2020 I found the vehicle I wanted using the USAA car buying service. I submitted an inquiry via the system and within minutes I received a call from Kalo the salesman. I asked a few questions about the vehicle and he invites me to come for a test drive. I told him that I needed to discuss this with my wife and I would call him back. Several hours later I call him back to see if I could come see the vehicle he of course says yes. I inform him that due to the distance (72 miles) I wouldn't arrive until 20 minutes before closing. At this point Kalo tries to discourage me from coming stating there wouldn't be a finance manager there to close the deal. This should have been my warning to not go. I informed Kalo that I am already pre-approved through my bank so I won't need financing through them. He reluctantly agreed. We arrived about 5:40pm and I went inside and met Kalo. He had brought the car around as promised. Soon we were off on our test drive. We were gone about 5-10 mins. I told Kalo upon our return that we were interested and that we would be back on Sunday morning as soon as the dealership opened. Kalo says "we close at 5 o'clock, can you come around 4pm?" I told him with the distance I preferred earlier. We settled on between 12:30-1:00 On Sunday April 19th we arrive at 1130 a.m. Kalo was with a customer. It was not an issue for us because we purposely arrived early so that we could do a more thorough check of the vehicle and perform a little bit longer test drive. Around 12:45 we were sitting with Kalo. This is where we take a huge nose dive. Kalo after taking some preliminary information from me disappears for a about 10 mins. Again not an issue. They are short staffed due to the current covid emergency. When he returns he starts running through the numbers, coverIng the price of the car, how he arrived at that price, down payments, financing terms, monthly payments, etc. I inform/remind him that I already have financing. He says "most people go with our financing to get the $999.00 discount, then they refinance with their own bank". I tell him that I do not want to use their financing and more importantly to me, i don't want another credit pull at this time, plus no where on the USAA car buying site does it say the price was contingent on using the dealer's preferred lenders. So Kalo and i go back and forth over the financing and i reiterated that i was not going to allow them to pull my credit and i want the price of the car ($36,192) listed on the website. So I make my out-the-door offer which was about $2500 less than theirs final, however the devil is in the details and where we got hang up. I unsuccessfully tried to explain that he had to base it on the sales price, and not on the taxes, tags and title since they didn't make money off those things. I stated the taxes are based on the sales price. Finally Dave the finance manager comes over. He was the worst. First he was very condescending, and came over with what the salesman "game" on. He proceeds to lecture me on taxes and how and why they are collected and "we all must pay them." Apparently Kalo misinformed Dave that stating somehow that I didn't want to pay the taxes which is NOT what i said. I patiently listened and when given the opportunity i explained to Dave my offer to Kalo. I then raise my offer by $500 to $37,500 out-the-door. This puts the offer for the car itself at approximately $34,900 (about $1292 below their price). Dave did exactly what Kalo did. He went back to his final number of $39,900+ noting the difference between my offer. Then asked me "what is your offer based on". Mind you i clearly wrote it out in paper each time as to how I arrived at my number. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. If you are considering this dealership understand the online price is wholly dependent on using their preferred lenders. A point which was made to me by both Kalo and Dave-- "we make our money off the financing..." they will pressure you to finance through them. read more

There was a very specific truck I wanted, a Dodge Ram Limited. I started my search on Carfax and found the truck at Lindsay Buick GMC, 275 miles from where I live. I started a conversation with Caleb and Garan in sales and three days later the truck was in my drive way! I couldn't be happier with these guys and this Dealership. I deducted one star because the truck was missing the tonneau cover key and I feel like they could have done just a little more to help me get a replacement. 2010 Audi S4 purchase Let me first say that dealing with Russel the sale guy the day I went to look at the car and work out the deal was good. We came to a price and that was it. I had my own financing so it was really in and out as far as that goes. After the sale they needed to do some clean up and full inspection on the vehicle because it was a new delivery to the dealership. So I purchased the vehicle, but had to leave it for about a week for them to do all of the inspection work and get it "up to par". I got a phone call from Frank who is the service manager, he gave me a run through of what was done including a tune up, valve gasket change (due do oil burning, or so I was told) and the car was ready to be picked up. So I picked up the car and was on my way. a few days later my CEL came on and my oil level was at the min so I added a quart of oil and called the the dealership back and talked to Frank, we discussed issues (codes that came up oil still burning, ect..) and I brought it back in for them to look at about a week later. Left the car for about a week at the dealership and they said they took it to another shop to figure out codes, That other shop cleared the codes and reset everything. Cool. I got a call from the dealership saying the car was ready for me to pick up, and that everything was addressed. And was told that I needed to take the car to Audi to have the service code reset, since they did not have the Audi ECM module reset equipment. No problem. So 78 miles after I picked up the car again, its low on oil. I called the dealership and sent them texts messages to the service department to help resolve. I did not get a response back, so I took it to an different shop in Sterling, VA. The mechanic said the the valve cover gasket was leaking and that it had not been changed. HMMM. I was told the the valve cover gasket was changed when they did the tune up, because there was oil on the plugs and they were all gunked up. So I feel like I was lied to about said service performed on vehicle before initial pick up. This is not my only issue. When I went to check the air filter and was removing the filter cover and moving the air intake pipe, I noticed that the air intake pipe was separated in the middle and attached together by only a small piece of the plastic, so I am driving around with a duct taped air intake pipe right now until the one I ordered comes in. The last issue is that the canister purge valve I is bad. (I had to order a new one of those as well and will be installing it myself). So my one piece of advice for anyone looking to purchase a used car from this dealer is buyer beware. After the sale, it appears that they don't care about customer service or actually fully inspecting vehicles they put up for sale (or sold and performed work before customer delivery). Bottom line instead of addressing the valve cover issue which would have cost them maybe $40.00 in parts and two hours at most in labor, they now have someone who has written a poor review and will be taking other actions as well to recoup money and time that could have been easily taken care of from the beginning. read more

I recently purchased a pre-owned Subaru from this dealership. Johnny, the salesman, was very amiable and we quickly established good rapport. I greatly appreciated that he wasn't overly pushy or aggressive. He walked me through all the features of the vehicle and what he personally liked about it. Once again, I never had the impression of deception or manipulation - just an honest assessment of what he thought of the vehicle based on my needs and interests. The test drive was painless and his pitch very forthright. Despite the vehicle's already very competitive price, the dealership was willing to touch up some minor scrapes to the rear bumper as part of the terms of sale, which helped seal the deal for me. But the icing on the cake was when I noticed some chips to the windshield the next day after I had already driven it 80 miles back home. I took the vehicle to a glass repair shop and they explained that one of the chips was sealed, but another smaller one in the lower right part of the windshield was not. When I called Lindsay Buick GMC, the Sales Manager (Garan) calmly explained to me that they always seal any glass chips on pre-owned vehicles and that they must have just missed the smaller one. Without me asking, he offered to call around to local automotive glass repair places where I live and found a business willing to do the repairs. He then told me to just send Lindsay the bill. Wow. That's great customer service. I can't recommend this place enough. They initially told me that they have built their reputation on good customer service - I experienced that first hand! Although the dealership is a bit of a drive, it was well worth the time to get there. It is a tight space and a fairly small office and they did well with their COVID protocols. Both Wayne and Kalo were very pleasant and helpful. The GM Rick was fair and what more can you ask for. The vehicle was priced fairly and exactly as advertised and the trade in value of my BMW was also fair and within the KBB band of trade in value. We drove from Harrisonburg to look at a range Rover which was a very fair price and loved it. Our salesperson, Johnny had a lot of paperwork already done for us so the process was very fast. They had several nice vehicles with low miles at a good price. The finance person was very efficient and guided us to the proper warranty which we did end up buying since we don't have experience with Land Rover. Rick, the sales manager really helped us get to a reasonable payment and gave us a fair price for our trade in.
