Nah, I'll pass. I visited here for a super simple carry-out order of one lamb kabob and one chicken kabob on a recent Thursday evening. Walking in, I noticed a couple sitting at a table enjoying themselves, so I thought to myself, "good choice, Phil!" I placed my order with the very friendly young man behind the counter, and he let me know that it also comes with pita bread. Great, I'll get to make a sandwich! After about 7 minutes, my food was done and I was on my way back to my hotel to dig in. Smelled good, so I figured, it must taste good. WRONG! Both kabobs were overcooked to the point of being dry and tough. And both pita breads were obviously pre-heated and re-heated, because they were hard and chewy. I managed to choke down the kabobs with a gallon of water, the pita went straight in the trash, and my dreams for a fulfilling meal were shot. read more

I've been eating here for 11 years and it is always tasty and hot. I love the "sauce" and the beef kabobs are juicy and flavorful.

This is my goto spot for Mediterranean food. The gyro platter is very tasty and the chef is always friendly and accommodating of my requests. One thing that I like here is their Tzatziki sauce(white sauce) is much better than some of their competitor's. I appreciate that they are open during the plandemic even if it is limited hours. read more

Updated: Lamb wasn't as good as the 1st time. Gotta try thier mantu and it was DELISH!! It's like dumpling with hot sauce. I like to try the Shawa over rice next time (minced beef). This place has really good reviews on Yelp and so I and my coworkers decided to go there for lunch. We were surprised by how small this place was. Here is a gist of my experience: Pros: -The food is great, it's super flavorful, the meat seemed to have been cooked well but maybe it wasn't that fresh. -The portion size is really good and gosh the yogurt sauce with sumac sprinkled on it is the best I've had so far. - Prices per dish are unbeatable, totally worth it. Cons: -I think there's only one guy cooking and managing the place so our food took a while to get ready. -The place looked shady and it was also a bit dirty in the inside. Definitely not a good place to sit down and eat. - No vegetarian options Bottom line- I recommend going there for take out/pick up only. Delicious! I ordered the chicken kebab and the wife ordered the prince combo. The meats were very tender and tasty. I was surprised there were only two people there on a Saturday evening. Nonetheless, the food was great and I would definitely return. Don't expect a fancy sit in dining place with candles and stuff like that. This is like a hole in the wall food place that serves you on paper plates. I would have gave this place five stars if I didn't find a piece of hair in my chicken. After Christmas shopping, we were hungry. My little one wanted McDonalds. Me and hubby weren't feeling that, but as we pulled up to order, we saw the sign for Saffron Grill. We ordered nuggets for the little one and drove over to Saffron Grill. It's a little place but offers big flavors. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro with fries and the hubby ordered the chicken gyro with fries. It took a little long to get our orders because the gentleman taking the orders was also the cook. (Don't worry. He put on gloves after each transaction.) Once the food arrived, my husband and I made "ohh yum" comments after almost each bite. The meats were perfectly seasoned and the pita was a little crunchy. And the fries were delicious! I believe that out of all the gyro meats I've tried in the Bay, this is probably the best. Just went there tonight to try it. I got 2 choices in the hot food section + basamati rice $6.99 (something like that) My choice is grill chicken and tomatoes/beef . Very good taste. My husband get falafel wrap and also orka lamb and egg plant and rice. Portion is so generous. Favor is very good. People work there is very nice , not much seating though. I order to-go. It comes on a plate with a fresh salad, delicious rice, two pieces of pita bread, and of course the kebab! At first, I thought there wouldn't be enough meat (seven medium to big sized pieces), but man, it was definitely enough! The lamb was tasty and juicy, but the beef was even better. Their gyros is unlike any other. Their sauce is not the traditional white tsakis you find in most gyros but an orange colored very flavorful in fact I kind a like it better than the traditional sauce. Come here all the time when I want a good gyros. read more

Came here after years and ordered the koobideh plate and the gyro meal. The koobideh was flat and greasy. The gyro meat was burnt and came with ketchup. Who puts ketchup on the gyro? Any of the proteins and the rice are wonderful. Three stars is for the hit or miss aspect. You never know how your order is going to turn out. Will you get the meat you ordered? How much pita will be provided? What will the salad be like (a few pieces of limp lettuce or chock full of good veggies, dressing or no dressing, etc). On more than one occasion I was asked if I wanted spicy. I said no and sure enough I got spicy. Last Friday they were out of rice at 7:00pm. I'm sure Lucky's was still open and that they sell basmati but their solution was fries (fries not bad but not great either). If you order for a large group the hit or miss ratio increases drastically. That said, it is one of our favorite takeout places and we'll continue to go there. read more
