Had to write a review. We came here last night for a graduation party, and the food was amazing. Quality was great, and it was cooked just right. Probably one of the best Afghan food you can have and catered. Will definitely use them for any events I have in the future.

8/28/22 Lunch Every time we've ever tried to come here they've been closed for a wedding or function, but not today! Today, we had the entire place to ourselves. We ordered the potato Bolani, gyro and the combo kabob plate. The potato Bolani was so good! Man I love carbs! I could drink the green sauce they served with it. My beef and chicken kabob with rice was good, but I definitely preferred the chicken over the beef. The beef was on the tough side and hard to eat, but the chicken was packed with flavor, tender and moist! I'm surprised this place was empty the entire time we were there but it was a nice to have a private lunch just hubby & me.

Local Fremont Afghan restaurant. Love taking advantage of living in "Little Kabul" and having so many Afghan markets and restaurants to try. Interior is shiny gold, burl wood, and red upholstery, I can see fancy family gatherings and events happening here. It's totally unassuming from the outside next to a Taco Bell and check-cashing place that used to be a fast food restaurant. Chicken and Shami Kabob: Like other Afghan restaurants they cook to order and it'll take 40 minutes but it is so worth the wait, the meat is always tender and delicious. It comes with a sour side salad with chickpeas and afghan bread which is good for wrapping meat in or dipping in the yogurt or chutney sauce Potato Bolani: So good, love it dipped or plain, you get a ton of it in your order almost guaranteeing leftovers.

Great tasting food, they take their time cooking and it's well worth the wait! Super super tender meat -'d interesting sides as part of the order. The shami kebab combo comes with a log of meat like koobideh, the bed of rice it rests on absorbs some of the grill flavor and is good paired. It comes with a side salad of tomatoes and onions and a sour potato and chickpea salad, they were great. The bread was a little hard but fine to eat, not sure if it's intended to be like this. Like other Afghan in places the fries are on point, perfectly cooked and better than most other restaurant fries.

I've lived in Newark for 4 years and I did not know this placed existed. Ive been looking for some good Afghan food that's close by and of course I yelped places and when this place popped up I wanted to see what it was about. Lo and behold this place is a hidden gem and their food is . Everything is cooked to perfection. When I placed my order yesterday I got lucky and actually got to meet and talk with the owner Wahida? I'm sorry I'm sure I butchered the spelling but great hospitality and overall just made me feel like family for that short conversation we had. But anyway if you have not tried their food what are you waiting for? I'm definitely coming back for more and yes quality of food is great especially they're cheap too. Don't just go there RUN and get their food. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

When seated after ordering, we were served with the signature Afghan bread with delicious spicy dipping sauce. The owner I presume also introduced us to two lovely dishes. One with potato in a flat bread and the other was a butter nut squash. They were both served with a creamy yogurt. My wife and I ordered the trio Kabob and the eggplant dish. Highly recommended. The meats are so tender! Out of all the Persian places I have experienced the chicken at this establishment is the best! The beef even more! The dessert was heaven... If you want a true Afghan foodie experience, this is the place to go to in the Bay Area! Can't wait to try the other dishes!

Perfect char, juicy meat, and great texture on the patty. I also really enjoyed the potato bolani. Crispy bread and creamy potato. Huge portion. What's not to love! Had free chutney at the table. The slow cooked lamb in the pallow was fall-off-the bone. However, not too much meat. Mantu was a skip for me. Meat inside was delicious and sauces and wrapper worked, but not special compared to other dishes, especially since lentils were a little undercooked. Doogh as a drink isn't up my alley, but paired with the heavy meat dishes well.

They were a little disorganized, but the decor and vibes were very homey. Their portions are fairly large, and overall the food was pretty decent, although not all of the dishes were my cup of tea I will say. This was my first time having Afghanan cuisine, so take what I say here in my review with a grain of salt. I rounded up because the food was pretty tasty and filling, but wasn't super impressed by the overall experience. So, to me, flavor and quality of the food is more important than the overall experience with the staff and vibes of the space. I would have given a 3.5/5 if I could. Food: 4/5 A friend mentioned that this is his family's go to spot for some of the most authentic Afghan food, so this is what I am basing the rest of this review on. We ordered Triple Kabob Murgh, Teka and Chaplee Kabob, Quabili Pallow, Mantu, Aushak, Sabzi Challow, Kado Borani, and Doogh. The kabob meats were all seasoned differently and were very tender, but everything else had a very similar palate to each other. Everything was fairly tasty, and the lamb wasn't too gamey, which I appreciated. If you try the Doogh yogurt drink, know that it is sour and an acquired taste, my friends said it wasn't good until they ate some food along side it. Staff/Space: 3.5/5 The staff wasn't the most friendly nor did they really come to check on us. The guy just took the order and brought our order and that was the only real interactions we had with the staff. The space in general was super homey and very much set for cozy family vibes. There is a decent amount of space inside and outside to accommodate for various party sizes. There is only street parking, which is not super convenient.

I revisited after six months only to see that the service hasn't improved a bit.Took almost 50ish mins to get our goat & chicken Mandi. It was sweet, flavorless, dry and lacking spice - four out of four people didn't like it. I definitely won't be trying it again. The Mutton Biryani, was flavorful and definitely many times better than chicken biryani. The Haleem was the absolute best item we ordered and a definite hit, making it worth trying again. Be warned about their 'Family Pack'. It's advertised as a family size but serves about two people, not definitely four, which is quite pricey for a 32oz bucket at $40. While the Haleem's quality justified the price as a seasonal item, the 'Family Pack' concept for biryani is poor value. I'd recommend the Haleem and Mutton Biryani, but steer clear of the Chicken Biryani and don't expect the "Family Pack" to feed more than two, 3 at best.
