    Mushroom butter masala
    Jean K.

The butter masala is my absolute favorite here and I like it with either the paneer or lamb. I have also tried the mushroom option which is good but I do prefer mushrooms more on the well-done side and here they were cooked more al dente. Both dine-in and take out have been excellent experiences.

Had such a great anniversary dinner here!!! We ordered the chicken butter masala and the lamb butter masala- both on medium spice- and it was delicious. It wasn't too painfully spicey, so if you are an Indian food lover who enjoys a kick, get the level 3! We might try that next time. The garlic naan was mouthwateringly good.

We were in the area and came in for a late dinner. I'm not sure that the staff was happy that we came in late. It was about 2 hours before they closed and it was obvious they wanted to leave. When we arrived, alot of the tables had Not been cleaned. Our waiter did come over and take our drink order but it took them a while to come back with them. Finally got our drinks and ordered our food. I ordered the lamb Rogan Josh and it was pretty good. Good flavor and a decent amount of lamb. I had heard really good things about this location and love Indian cuisine. Overall the experience was ok but quite frankly it had a lot to do with the servers. I may not return.

I ate here last night. I shared their President Platter with my son and it was a lot of food! I enjoyed most of the items with the shrimp and lamb shank being my favorite. My daughter in law got the chicken Tikki Masala. She really liked it. Their naan was delicious. It was the perfect consistency of being soft, chewy, with slightly crisp spots. I would return here to try more of their dishes.

A really solid choice for Indian food in Cary. I went here in the late afternoon, so it was really quiet but it's probably a nice, vibe at night when there are more people. I had butter chicken and naan. I thought the naan was a little over-priced for one serving, but the quality was good.

We came here on Saturday hoping to have lunch but was told Fri-Sun is dinner menu only :( Very disappointed since I was not able to see that information on their website! Ended up ordering off of their dinner menu. Food was really delicious-ingredients are fresh, everything had the proper texture, 10/10. I loved the lamb pepper fry (appetizer), it was pricey but the portion was pretty big. Service people were friendly and efficient. Place is clean and spacious. Will come back to try the lunch menu!

I went to this Indian restaurant for dinner and the food was amazing and authentic. I ordered the mushroom butter masala and it was delicious. The restaurant felt cozy. The food was traditional and fresh. I loved this place and I look forward to returning for Indian food. I moved new to the area and I am grateful to have visited and learned about this place for my Indian cuisine!

If you want excellent service in a beautifully decorated setting, Saffron definitely fits that bill. They were also very accommodating to spice levels since one in my party isn't able to tolerate too much heat. I was honestly just a little disappointed by the food. Two of my favorites are baingan bartha & saag paneer. While the taste and spices were fine, the dishes were overly salted. I couldn't taste the subtle tastes of the greens or the eggplant...the salt overpowered it Chicken biryani while very tasty it was also on the saltier side. Highly recommend the Amritsari kulcha which was stuffed with a deliciously spiced potato mixture. Maybe it was an anomaly with the salt & is definitely worth a second try.

As a fan of Indian food, I've often had mixed reviews for my options in the Triangle but have always enjoyed the food that Chef Gamer cooks up! Saffron is his newest restaurant after running Amber out in Morrisville and its location in the old Ginger space off Kildaire Farms Road works great for me. Saffron has a slightly upscale but comfortable feel, decked out in beiges and deep brown, offering a more traditional dining room experience. The menu at Saffron is broad and features a lot of different items that I haven't seen elsewhere, Chef Gamer spins up classic Indian cuisine with a modern twist. We tried their paneer 65 (excellent) a crispy kale palak chaat (fried kale with a creamy sauce) along with chicken korma and garlic naan, delish! Dining here you just can tell extra effort is made to use higher quality, fresher ingredients and it show up whenever you take a bite. Service here is very good and suits the menu, prices and dining room. Overall I'm really happy to have Saffron and Chef Gamer's food closer to my home and will be back soon to try more off of the menu...

Lots of inspiring quotes around the dining area.

Hands down some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted!!! The restaurant ambience is super chill and very clean. The service prompt, friendly, polite, knowledgeable and relaxed. Very easy ordering experience and the food was made fresh and delicious! Chicken Tikka Kabob Platter was totally 5 stars. Very filling and not expensive.

"Delightful vegan restaurant on Crabtree Blvd in Raleigh"…read more I'd heard of this for years and was happy to finally give it a try on a Saturday for lunch ~1:30pm. The restaurant is a bit set off from a strip mall, and has a small outdoor seating area. The inside has high ceilings and is airy, and is nicely decorated (I also enjoyed the "sci-fi themed" wallpaper in one restroom stall). We were greeted quickly and given a table right away. The specials on the wall sounded amazing-- it was hard to believe they were all vegan with burgers, bbq, "chicken", and more on there. We opted for simple-- the special cantaloupe soup for an appetizer and burgers (impossible) for lunch. Mine came with chips, and my girlfriend's came with mac and cheese. Food came out in maybe 15 minutes. The cantaloupe soup was AMAZING... perfect for a summer day... super refreshing and tasty. The cheeseburgers were good too-- well dressed with an aioli, if I remember right, as well as fresh lettuce, tomatoes, etc. I appreciated that I didn't have to pop a lactase, too, since all vegan! The chips I think were store-made and were absolutely tasty-- we got a lot too and snacked off them for the next few days. And my girlfriend liked the mac and cheese. Service was friendly throughout, and cups were refilled. And I felt the prices were reasonable for what we got. Overall, I'd DEFINITELY come back and am eager to try some of their fake meat dishes like the BBQ.

Their new location is very nice and spacious and there's plenty of parking too! We got the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread, Grilled Romaine, Hearts of Palm & Lion's Mane "Crabcakes", and Southern Style Plate with BBQ "pork". The cornbread was so moist and the crabcakes were flavorful. The grilled romaine was a revelation - I loved whatever creamy sauce it came with, the candied nuts, and the smokiness of the romaine. The BBQ "pork" was probably my least favorite thing, but don't get me wrong, it was still tasty. We asked for a little more BBQ sauce to go with it and our waitress got it for us right away. The drinks were also fantastic! I got the Autumn Flare which was coconut water, housemade falernum syrup, pineapple juice, and lemon. So refreshing and yummy!

Yesterday my parents told me they went to one of my favorite Ethiopian spots in the Twin Cities, and that was the motivation I needed...I went searching for Ethiopian food today, and Awaze in Cary delivered. What we ordered: Veggie Platter -- great variety and solid flavor across the board. Doro Wot -- rich, comforting, and cooked well. Awaze Lamb Tibs -- tender and flavorful. Spiced Hot Tea -- loved it; perfect on a chilly day. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the injera was soft with the right tang. It felt on par with what I used to get in Minnesota. One note: We asked for the lamb tibs to be spicy, but it came out pretty mild. Not a dealbreaker at all, and I've found that to be fairly common with "spicy" dishes in NC in general , just something to know if you're looking for real heat.

Best ramen in the area…read more We are from Southern California and we finally found a quality tonkatsu. This pork broth is one of the longer broths to make and you can tell they did it right. Great service, quick and happy to serve! They do not skimp on amount of food either. The price you pay here is great compared to west coast. Lots of thick pork, charred, and lots of noodles and toppings. High quality blended chili oil was also a surprise. We'll be back! Nice little shop, fun artwork on the walls themed to the store, simple counter order and they bring it out when ready. Unfortunately for me, they had a lot of options I wanted to try, we ended up with the edamame, some pork belly cheese fries, and since it was warmer we went with rice options instead of ramen. I got the tonkatsu rice bowl and she got the Japanese curry rice bowl. Between the appetizer and the meal we were both unable to finish and I enjoyed it the next day as a left over. They have a great self service option for take away containers which I appreciated, except my skills of 'dumping from bowl into container' were less than stellar. While we probably won't be back often as they're a 45m drive from our normal haunts for a 'whats open after 8pm on a Friday' they were a welcomely pleasant surprise and quite good.

Mom loved those! I ordered the Carolina BBQ Sandwich which was smoked vegan BBQ tossed in hybrid eastern- Western style sauce (whatever that means lol), creamy coleslaw on a Brioche bun with a side Kale Caesar Salad. Mom ordered the Philly Cheese steak which was chopped seitan "steak", marinated mushrooms, house made cheese, peppers, onions served on a soft hoagie roll. "Vegan faux meat dishes near the Raleigh Convention Center"…read more Stopped here on the Saturday of GalaxyCon in July at 5pm. There are a lot of outdoor tables with umbrellas, but we opted for the interior. The interior was a bit dark but still comfortable, especially near the windows. We got to pick our table and were given menus promptly. I went for the faux Philly cheesesteak and a side salad with Bleu cheese. My girlfriend got the western nodeo burger and a side salad with ranch. Service was good- there was a little confusion about our order and what table we were at, but they were apologetic about it. And we still got our food within 20 minutes and regularly were offered drink refills. My food was fine. The vegan Bleu cheese dressing was quite runny and tasted ok but not nearly as good as the real thing. Honestly, I felt the same about the cheesesteak. The faux meat was oddly rubbery, and the cheese was just ok. It also wasn't very large. In contrast, my girlfriend's dishes were excellent- the ranch dressing was epic and the burger was super tasty. Warning- it was hot, especially the jalapeños. But delicious. If I went back, I'd get her order for sure. Price was pretty good especially for the burger- most entrees were in the $15-20 range, but did not come with sides. Overall, a good vegan option near the convention center and Marriott hotel.
