I ate dinner here the other day and the whole experience was excellent. The service was quick and attentive snd the food was excellent. The garlic naan was crisp and flavorful, the chicken tikka masala was comforting and delicious. The true gem was the chicken 67 though. I had never heard of it and only tried it for the first time there but it was flavored perfectly and had a little bit of spice but it wasn't overwhelming for me (someone who cannot handle anything spicy without terrible heartburn). We stumbled across this spot by accident but am happy we did as the prices were decent and the food was delicious. The restaurant is clean and quaint and inside the arcade. We had issues getting in but a quick call to the restaurant fixed that. The staff was very nice and polite and attentive. We tried several dishes: Chicken Tikka Masala, Dum Ka Murg, Navaratan Korma, and Chicken Biryani and had Garlic Naan as well. The Chicken Tikka Masala ($16.99) was delicious and very rich. It was full of flavor and the meat was well done. It was a solid 10/10. The Dum Ka Murg ($15.99) was different but very tasty as well. We ordered it spicy so it had a good kick! The chicken was very well seasoned. Overall, a 9/10! The Navaratan Korma ($15.99) was also really delicious and rich. The vegetables were well done and it was really tasty! Also 9/10. The Garlic Naan ($4.99) was really tasty and soft and buttery. A 9/10 as well. Overall, this was a great spot that I'm happy we stumbled across. We were here for their Saturday breakfast buffet. To get the positives out of the way, the food itself was decent. But that's really all the positives there were. We had called the prior day to check what the offering would be like and they confirmed that there would be a number of items including poori, upma etc. but we were utterly disappointed to find that they only had idli, vada and dosa to offer that day. Even worse was that there was only one chutney and sambar. They also ran out of Vada before we were done eating - this was at 1 PM, the buffet is supposed to be open until 3:30. We were misled by the individual on the phone but when we spoke to the staff on site, they said they are surveying what people want - not sure whatever that means. The service was very poor as well. There was only one person on site and she did not bring us any water or silverware. The bathroom was in poor shape and didn't have any hand soap and had all the cleaning supplies right at the entrance. Overall, we were very disappointed by the breakfast buffet. Decent food cannot make up for the poor service, poor ambience, and incomplete offering. They have the potential to be something good based on the taste of the food but until they better their operations, we will not be back. read more

2nd time getting take out from here. It's good. This time I ordered the goat biryani, which was very flavorful. It was really spicy, and I didn't order it like that. I like mild to medium. But this was like Carolina reaper hot. . They give you a boiled egg and a lime wedge with the biryani. Wish there was more though to balance the spice. Their garlic naan was really good. It was 2 huge pieces. Very good. I was expecting however those tortilla chip like sides with their 3 staple sauces, but I did not receive that this time around. Ordered hyderabadi chicken biryani and asked for it spicy. They told me 30 Minutes. I walked in after 15 minutes and was greeted by a pretty Indian woman who told me that my order was ready. I paid and left. Place looked nice. Clean. I got out to my car to drive home and the aroma was too much to take. I ate the entire meal there. It was a beautiful floral and spice aroma . First impressions are everything so even though this had gone very well up to the point of tasting it I had to give it a two star review. There reason was that I paid $17.00 and if I added all of the tiny scraps of chicken present it would not have equalled a single chicken wing. Very disappointing. It took a perfect experience and killed it. Based on the lack of chicken in the dish I would not return. It was shameful to give that dish to a customer with that tiny amount inside. read more

We made a delivery order the other night and were extremely disappointed at the price versus the portion sizes. The photo of the samosas shows five of them at $7 per order. We received two (2)! Two samosas for $7?! The Charminar Chicken and Chicken Pakora are $14.00 each and were delivered in the smallest plastic containers a restaurant can provide - what looks like a single serving container. The $17.00 chicken tikka masala was also served in a very small container for what they call an "entree". Again, the menu photo of the tikka masala shows a very different size portion compared to what you actually get. I honestly hate giving this place a low rating because the food itself was very good! Listen, I understand that the cost of everything has gone up. I get that, and I don't have a problem with paying more if I feel I'm still getting a good value. But, when the prices go up prices and portions sizes go down, that's where you lose me as a customer. And when you engage in using deceptive advertising/photos on your menu where the customer believes they are getting something that they're not, then you're going to lose even more business. We won't be back and can't imagine this place will be around too much longer charging top dollar for individual portions. read more

Ordered Hydrabadi Chicken Biryani takeout. They didn't even fill up the container fully. They also charged me 50 cents for a tiny container of salan. I eat biryani pretty frequently from CT restaurants and I've never seen a restaurant that charges for 2 oz of salan. No wonder the place is empty. read more

Essentially, these people are scammers. Ordered at 2:22 PM. Arrived to pick up the food at 2:45 PM and was told it was never prepared and the kitchen was now closed. No further explanation was available. Hours are given as 11-3. They were successful at charging my credit card, though. They did not issue a refund for the order they never fulfilled so I had to dispute with my bank, who refunded immediately. I hope they enjoy paying the chargeback fee. I guess the website exists solely to collect your money but nobody checks the orders that come in and they just hope you won't show up. Horrible, unprofessional experience. read more

Restaurant just opened, it's nice inside. We got a few things to go for dinner (manchurian paneer, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and dal tadka). Everything was DELICIOUS! On par with the best Indian places in the NYC. You can order the dishes mild, medium or spicy. We got everything mild and it still had a pretty strong kick to it so be cautious unless you know what you're doing lol. So happy to have a great Indian place near home. Brindavan Indian restaurant was in this spot but did not seem to survive Covid which is a shame as it was the best Indian restaurant by far in the area with a wide range of dishes Last night was a mixed bag. Table service was poor. We ordered drinks (a nice addition over Brindavan) but they served my wife's drink... and then I watched one worker basically chastise the bartender who seemed more interested in taking care of his friends at the bar. I finally got my drink.. although they forgot the seltzer I ordered. Appetizer was great. "56" was the name, nice and spicy fried cauliflower in a hot sauce... was awesome and we quickly got excited for main courses. Of the two main courses, we had an eggplant dish which was quite nice, but we had another vegetarian dish where.. in short the peppers, carrots and squash (?) were SO undercooked it made the dish inedible. Raw carrots SUCK. The menu said it would be spicy, but nope.. flavorless.. I wanted to forgive the yellow corvette parked on the sidewalk RIGHT NEXT to the front door as some stunt to draw attention to the grand opening... it seems more like a bad flex. Makes me wonder what the motivation is for this place when more attention is being paid to bar friends than patrons. We really want this place to be better and on the fence. Not sure if it's worth trying again. To the woman who chastised the bar tender, thank you for being the "Big Toe" needed. Do more of that.. to the waitstaff and the kitchen. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for takeout for the first time after a good Indian friend highly recommended it. Got the Saag Paneer (mild), the Lamb Rogan Josh(mild), and the Chicken Tikka Masala (mild) as well as the Naan. The Naan was huge (it is effectively 1 giant piece of naan cut into 4ths) and tasty. We did not realize each dish also came with rice, so we were very pleasantly surprised. The Saag Paneer was delicious; definitely the best I have had in Connecticut, possibly one of the best I've ever had. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan Josh were both also quite delicious! The meats were quite well seasoned and both dishes were tasty without feeling greasy or dense. We got the mild as we were warned that the food can be spicy if requested so. Mild was just about what we expected, there was a small amount of kick, but very tolerable and good. We may venture to get medium next time to try it out, but mild was an excellent place to start. We will both be ordering from here again, likely multiple times in the future. Fortunately their menu is pretty extensive (excited to try some tandoori next time). read more

Got off I-95 on a trip between New York and Boston, and found this new Indian restaurant in a shopping plaza minutes from the highway exits. It's a spacious setup, with a wide ranging but not overwhelming menu. The food was fresh and delicious and tasted like home cooked food rather than the conventional unremarkable fare that is all too common in many restaurants. The potato samosas had a fresh flaky crust, and were a great way to start the meal. The goat pepper fry was tasty but not super Andhra-level spicy, and went well with garlic naan (also flaky and fresh) and white rice and Raita. The daal tadka also tasted home cooked and The Guti Vankaya (small eggplant dish) was also appetizing. Overall really good food, and pleasant and cheerful service. Today we went to Barosa, a new place in town next to G mart. When we went inside we were really impressed with the dining experience and the atmosphere is relaxed but elegant ! We started with the samosa and Gobi apps with an order of garlic now. The apps were so good that we ordered entrees! We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu including dessert which we saw that looked super nice and was a brownie. Highly recommend ! read more
