They have zero quality control on items they are selling. Bought Amul cheese cubes in June and upon consuming, it kept crumbling and was smelling bad. Didn't realize until we started to get sick. Saw the box and they sold us expired product from October 2025. This is absolutely unacceptable as this could lead to a serious hospital visit. All rewards they provide one earns are bogus and most of the time these machines don't work and they are just fooling customers. read more

Ordered a samosa chaat and paneer biryani through Grubhub. Ordered wasn't accepted as they never got the alert. So had to wait another 20mins. Tried samosa chaat and there is probably a tiny samosa piece in the entire chaat. Paneer biryani lacked flavor and salt. Very disappointed and will never order again. read more

We went there to purchase noodles and some small eats. They only had the jumbo pack of Maggie noodles and not the individual packs, which was weird since almost all stores carry individual packs of Maggie noodles. They had different pastries, so we bought pineapple cake and Black Forest cake, assuming they would be as delicious as in India. We were very disappointed with the taste and texture as both the cake flavors were very dry with the sponge cake almost breaking into pieces and the cream tasted very sour, as if it had gone bad. We trashed the cakes to avoid food poisoning. The attitude of the guy in the counter was cold, he didn't seem to want to sell to customers. Would recommend not to shop here and avoid the pastries. read more

It's find to find a place that sells dosa, so when I am near one I need to try it. Since it was a Thursday, they have a BOGO deal for all the dosas and uttampans. The masala dosa itself was delicious and good sized, with a good amount of potatoes and spices. The side of sambar that comes with it was ok, it was quite oily and spicier than I am used to. The chutneys were ok, but I was missing the usual coriander one that usually comes with dosas. While waiting for the food, I shopped for some spices and lentils and they do have a good variety of items for your Desi style cooking needs. If ordering food, I would recommend take out only, as their main focus is the store and there's only two tables outside! read more

I'd consider Saffron more of a grocer than restaurant, but don't let that fool you, the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a chicken tikka masala. There are not tables inside, but a few outside. The chicken tikka masala was not overly large but it was delicious. The grocery section is incredible and offers several types of spices, beans, vegetables. I picked up some unique sauces and split black chickpeas for the win. read more

I stopped by today to pick up ingredients for a cooking class, and as I was not very familiar with the things I needed, I asked the kind woman who owns the store for help. She was amazing -- she walked me through the store pointing out the different packaging, and helped me select each product. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. GO!! Just was driving by and noticed this store and stopped in. The food was so unexpected..I mean the best thing I have put on my lips in Arizona!!! The food is so dang bland in this town that I have been looking to move to Phoenix. And let's just say this place is a welcomed taste and it's so close to my job. I tried the goat curry with rice and I'm usually not a fan of goat anywhere outside my house. This food has me wanting to drive back for a second entree! I am Indian by birth and yes, I AM complaining about an Indian store. Same issue...missing items that I paid for...almost every time! Also, untrained staff at the counter. Most can not even use the machine! Hygiene is non-existent. Cooked food gets scooped out using ladles by anyone who is there near the checkout counter. No gloves, ever! Today, it was a very elderly Indian lady, who was ladling the curried into tubs. God bless her...clearly she was not a paid staff - was someone's grandmother/mother/aunt. Sugarcane is picked up and pushed inside the grinder with bare hands! Never saw anyone washing their hands before/after touching the cooked food/tongs! We have had very upset tummy situations a few times. Informed the store also. They never cared. The rude attitude of whoever manages the counter is another story...never changes. Today, I paid cash. Was missing one item. Noticed after I came home and was emptying the plastic bag. Called up. The young lady who took the payment and bagged my stuff, did not even admit that she forgot to put in one item. Told me to drive back and get a refund! When I asked to talk to the owner, she disconnected the call. There used to be a 'Pastries and Chaat' store there. It closed down. I wonder, why. I can guess. I am done with Saffron. Came for a snack, but glad we had a meal. Ate the chicken biryani and paneer masala. Chicken was seasoned well. I went to their location in Chandler at 955 W Chandler Heights Rd, Suite #2, Chandler, AZ - 85248 I was trying to make a dish that one of my friends made for me years ago and needed some Indian spices. I brought in my list . I needed Asafoetida Powder, Dried Mango Powder and a few other different things. The gentleman at the counter looked at my list and found my items for me. My recipe called for green chilies and he knew what type my recipe needed. Out here in AZ there are so many types of chilies that it was good that he knew. I have to say that I just love independent family owned businesses and the personal attention that I was given. Attached to this store was their restaurant Biryani Bites. I hadn't planned on eating but I just had to try. I ordered Gutthi Vankaya Biryani and I am so glad that I did! This is a basmati rice dish with Indian eggplant. It was seasoned perfectly and now my new favorite place. If you are a vegetarian and love Indian food this is the place to be. I will be coming back here for my birthday celebration this coming Friday. read more

Ordered for pick up Ordered Malai Kofta and other items Went at store.. Guy at reception: We did not have malai kofta hence we are giving paneer butter masala.. Me: I had questions, but I accepted my order and did not ask for any change or refund. Bottom Line: Well they will change your order if they don't have that item without even asking for your opinion, and that paneer butter masala did not even tasted fresh.(I can pinpoint that because day before I have ordered paneer butter masala). I had a very bad experience with this place. I ordered chicken biryani and picked up from their store , they took more time than what they told (had me waiting for 20 min) and when I reached home and opened biryani it was a vegetarian biryani. They are not even aware what they are packing . Veg Biryani to my surprise had a boiled egg. I would never recommend this restaurant , bad quality food and they don't know what is the different between vegetarian and non vegetarian and making fool of people. read more

First time shopping here. On our way back home picked up three Pastries. They were dry as Arizona desert and disgusting. They should have been off the shelves. After we got home it directly went into trash. During pandemic, idea was to support local business however if standards are not maintained and pretty much has throw away food to sell that says customer is not god for this store and is disgusting. read more
