I saw a video about Allora yesterday, and it looked delicious. My husband and I made a quick trip over tonight to try the gelato, and it was perfect. As soon as you walk in, the smell of fresh, homemade waffle cones fills the air. It's a super clean, minimal and inviting place. All of the flavors looked great, but I decided to try a mint ( and cookie I think? ) flavor, as well as vanilla....and of course.... A waffle cone. Everything was so good, and we will definitely be back. It was the best gelato I have had since I took my mom to Italy. My favorite gelato in the valley! It is so rich and decadent without it being overly heavy. It truly felt like I was transported back to Italy. Their ordering system is unique but efficient: you decide how many flavors you want and if you want it in a cup or cone (gluten-free & made in house!) and pay before sampling and choosing your flavors. Every flavor I have ever tried has been a hit! There hasn't been a single flavor that I disliked here. I usually get the hazelnut with orange zest and the mango sticky rice, but I really enjoyed their seasonal banana notte this time. Some other flavors worth mentioning are their greek yogurt, strawberry dolce, salted sicilian pistachio, and chocolate brownie (they somehow managed to make it taste exactly like delicious brownie batter). Heard so many good things about this gelato shop and finally got a chance to try. I ordered the pistachio and mango sticky rice flavors and both were so tasty. I first came here on a Saturday night with some friends who recommended it and are regulars here. The place was packed! The line extended out the door, and I soon found out why. This was some of the best gelato I've had outside of Italy. I even came back the next day to try other flavors. Late afternoon on a Sunday, there were only a few people inside and I was able to try every flavor they had. During busy times, they respectfully ask guests to limit tastings to three flavors. All of the flavors were delicious, but my favorites were vanilla, chocolate brownie (which has a lot of small brownie chunks in it), banana notte, Argentinian churro, Greek yogurt (which is refreshingly tart), and mango sticky rice (which tasted like mango lassi). The owner, Lalo, was making fresh waffle cones while we were there. Their cones are perfectly crunchy, thin, and flavorful. There is no seating inside, so plan to get your gelato and eat in your air conditioned car during the summer. On cooler weather days, the patio directly next to Allora has ample seating. The interior is very aesthetic and clean. Every employee is friendly and takes the time to explain each flavor as you try/order it, no matter how busy they are. read more

Order the size and container of your gelato at the kiosks and then you can sample and make your selections when you get to the counter. This place is incredible. The absolute best frozen dessert place I've ever had in Arizona. You order your size on an iPad and pay which I love because it speeds up the rest of the process. You either get 1 or 2 scoops in a cone or cup. I got 2 scoops in a cone for $10. The staff are super friendly and warm and if it's not busy you can try a few flavors! The place is small but clean and feels elevated and like a luxury experience. The cones are gluten free made with rice flour and so delicious. They hold together but are perfectly crunchy and not sugary or overpowering. The Argentinian churro tastes exactly like a churro. Cinnamon-y, not too sweet or artificial! The chocolate brownie is rich and dark but the brownie chunks taste like homemade gooey brownie not like candy or pre-bought pieces. I also tried the bourbon salted caramel which I would 100% get next time just to try a new flavor combo. The ice cream is SO creamy and thick and doesn't melt too quick. They also mentioned it has less sugar and fat than normal ice cream so I guess it's healthy! LOL! Allora blew me away. I'm mad it took me this long to come in. What a joy to have authentic gelato in Scottsdale! We can on a Friday evening and it was quite busy. They do speed up the purchase process by having you order on a table and pay in advance. You can choose your flavors when you get to the counter. They place is squeaky clean and the owners were the ones serving you the gelato. A plus that's it a local gem too. I got the hazelnut with orange and the Greek yogurt flavors. I did love the hint of orange that complimented the hazelnut flavor. My friend suggested we stop by Allora Gelato after lunch. She had their Mango Sticky Rice gelato on her last visit and loved it, so I was excited to try it. I've never been here before, but honestly, I never say no to gelato. It's a really small and cute gelato shop on Shea. Some of their flavors are seasonal, so unfortunately, the Mango Sticky Rice wasn't available this time. That was kind of a bummer because I really wanted to try it. The server was really nice and let us sample a few flavors before making our final decision, which I always appreciate. I ended up getting Matcha Green Tea and Dark Chocolate. The matcha was good, but the dark chocolate was my favorite, super rich, creamy, and very chocolatey. Definitely one of those desserts that makes you feel a little guilty, but totally worth it. It is a bit pricey though. One small scoop is about $7.50. But maybe that's a good thing; otherwise I'd probably be here all the time. You can sample the different flavors but when busy they do ask to keep it to a total of 3 sample requests to help with line (understandable). Of course even better with the gelato. If you're looking for a non dairy option, I recommend the Dark Chocolate. It's a sorbet, but doesn't look or taste like your typical sorbet.
