This restaurant was an accidental find! The food was absolutely amazing - we ordered the large shareable platter of meat and also the shareable platter of dips. Our server was attentive and recommended those two dishes to us and we were very impressed! I love the silverware and cups and the overall decoration of the restaurant as well!

Stopped by Sumak in Normandy again and had a pretty ok overall experience. Service was alright--nothing over the top but it got the job done. We started with the octopus, which unfortunately fell a little flat and was pretty bland compared to what I expected. The burger was surprisingly solid though, juicy and well cooked. But the real highlight of the meal was the lamb kebab. It was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the sumac onions with the rice on the side brought everything together. That dish alone is worth coming back for.

They serve respectable Turkish food here and the owner is very friendly, greets the guests. We really enjoyed the two zeytinyağlı dishes (smoked eggplant and red pepper, and artichokes) and the lahmacun. I would go back to try their white cheese and melon when the weather gets warmer.

Can't get enough of this delicious and delightful Turkish restaurant. Service is always wonderful and very effective, ambience super chic, nice crowd and cool music!

Sumak Restaurant was refreshing. The Turkish cuisine never disappoints! I ordered the Beef shish along with the asparagus. Both were delish! Huge chucks of beef strip loins were tender! Marinated so well the flavors bursting through my tastebuds! Pretty small area very cozy and great for small or big groups. Service was great and food came out in no time! Check em out !

Waiting to be filled with delicious food and drink!

We came here for happy hour on Saturday and really enjoyed the experience. I was very impressed with the interior! Despite living within walking distance for nearly 15 years, I never made it to Rouge, which I hear was very romantic and beautiful inside. I don't know what kinds of changes Sumak has made, but it's really lovely. They have an outdoor area as well, but we stayed inside. If you are there for happy hour and / or without a reservation, they have a small section of the restaurant reserved so they can keep the rest of the tables for reservations. The happy hour menu is fairly robust; we had a group of 4 and I think we sampled nearly everything. Standout for me was the branzino, which was cooked absolutely perfectly and full of flavor! The calamari was also excellent. I saw that someone else mentioned that the bread was meh, but I thought the bread that came with the dips was delightful! The cocktails are expertly crafted and the wine selection is also robust. We sampled a Turkish red, which was similar to a pinot noir, and really liked it! I found the service to be very good - it was a bit crowded in the restaurant since it was Saturday night, but we didn't feel rushed or neglected just because we were "happy hour-ing". I looked at the regular menu and thought it was pretty pricey. Also, if you do not eat meat, plan on ordering several of the mezze, because the "mains" that come off the grill are exclusively meat based. Part of the fun of this type of cuisine is sampling several items, and the "Turkish table" is a notoriously delicious way of doing so. All in all, it was a great experience!

Saw the feature on TV so I decided to try this out on a Sunday evening. The restaurant has beautiful interior. It has a classic, elegant feel with the chandeliers, great lighting, and relaxing music. The plates and cups were beautiful. Our server Nico explained the menu and answered our questions. Attentive, he gave great recommendations and guided us on how the food was eaten, putting the toppings on the lahmacun. The freshly baked bread was very good. Lahmacun is like a Turkish pizza served with onions, tomatoes, cilantro. It's big and can be shared between two people. Cleaver meatball and chicken shish were so delicious. Served with orzo pilaf that was tasty, the meats were very tender and flavorful! Delicious. Turkish coffee was very good. What a perfect way to end with the kunefe. Again, it was very good - the right amount of sweetness and the different textures of the crunchy top and the soft cheese at the middle. Delicious food. Great service. Elegant interiors. Whether or not you've had Turkish food before, Sumak is a must try if you are in Miami. Would highly recommend! Deserves more than 5/5!

I love it here lol! We decided to head out this year for Valentine's Day. We had dinner at Sumak. I love how cozy and intimate the space is. The service was ok, but our food was great! Only feedback would be to add a bit of flavor to the calamari, apart from that, 10/10. Glad we found this place and we will be back!

Great middle eastern Turkish meal in authentic dish ware. There was a large party the evening we came so we were seated in back courtyard near fireplace. It was such a nice evening so it was perfect weather. The portions were large and the presentation was beautiful. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was decorated with garnishes that made it look like a piece of art. Staff was attentive as well!

Really love this place, I have been going here since they opened. Consistently excellent food, super chill. The service is a little slow at times. The only item they can't get right is lentil soup. I love their lahmacun (Iurkish "pizza"), love Adana kebab, love iskander kebab. All appetizers are amazing and large sized . It's definitely the best Turkish retardant in miami.

We were whisked inside to the intimate, dimly lit interior with a DJ table tastefully tucked away in the back of the space. Service was welcoming but overall, not quite as warm and attentive as I've experienced at other places in town. We started off with the Turkish Manti Dumplings, which were the standout of the night. The complexity yet restraint of flavor, balancing indescribable buttery, roasted, earthy notes with a touch of umami and subtle tanginess from the yogurt. The Mezze Sampler was a nice option for trying three of the dips. All very tasty, but I've had slightly better elsewhere. The Sweet Jeweled rice was the other standout with flavor and textural variety that made each bite pop. I found the Roasted Brussels Sprouts undercooked and lacking the same level of flavor as the other plates. The weakest dish of the evening. The Grilled Whole Bronzino got top marks from the meat eaters at the table. Overall, 4/5 stars for a delicious meal but with tough competition around town limiting my ability to hit that 5.

But, when I saw they were advertising a Lamb Gyro for $12 (Tuesdays), I took the leap. Seems it wasn't that far to jump. Although there were table cloths, cloth napkins and silverware, with room for a true dining experience, the fan sitting atop the bar, (blowing-off more air than necessary), and the plastic plants on the walls/ceilings threw-off any pretense I had of the place. When I requested the Lamb Gyro, the server pointed to an entree on the menu for me to approve. I made sure there wasn't another (re: pricier) offer. There was... it was the one he suggested. The gyro itself consisted of a bland (Tzatziki?) sauce that struggled to find my taste buds. Lamb (typically) has a gamey/slightly sweet flavor; these cuts seemed to be found from behind their refrigerator, (not from inside). They certainly weren't cut fresh from a spit, as they were old and nearly tasteless. The included slices of onion and peppers, delegated to the pita bottom, (instead of intermingling) barely helped. The French fries (included in the price) were the most flavorful part of the meal; although, they were an insult, rather than accompaniment to the experience. And, was that Latin (instead of traditional Greek) music coming from the speakers? Along with a 20% "Administrative" fee, I won't be tempted to venture in again.
