It pains me to leave this review, but 2 years after getting chin lipo by Dr. Patel I feel deformed. My neck is lumpy and my chin is not symmetrical. When I first brought up my concerns a week after the surgery, he told me that it would take 6-12 months to see my final results because he removed so much fat. I felt gaslit when I tried to bring up my concerns again as things weren't progressing. I'm 100% botched. I also didn't appreciate that I ended up leaving what was supposed to be an easy procedure with a drainage tube running out of my face. I hadn't even been warned that was a possibility. Even though I live in LA he also gave me instructions to remove my stitches myself rather than come back into the office. He only ended up removing them himself because he had to remove the drainage tube, too. I wish I had done more research and chose another provider. I had chin lipo mid November and am about to hit 3 months post op. Overall, I am happy with the results. It cost me around $4.5K which I find a bit steep, but I do not regret it. I feel so much more confident. I also feel a sense of freedom, like I can relax and enjoy events. I don't have to worry about what I'll look like in candid pictures or to make sure to stretch my neck out. I simply look good and it doesn't look unnatural at all. I was interested in surgery with Dr Patel after watching his YouTube videos and thinking he seemed like a no-nonsense kind of guy - and I was right! I want a doctor who will tell me the truth and let me know if the results I want can be achieved. He let me know that if I really wanted that snatched look there could be a possibility of neck banding and asked whether this was a risk I was willing to take. I said yes, because I'm not paying almost 5 grand to still have some fat there. it's a tiiiiiny bit noticeable to me when I look up, but no one I have asked says it's noticiable. My recovery was annoying, wearing the head wrap for over a month is very uncomfortable so be ready for that. Considerations: If you go to the office, do be aware that the walls are thin and you can hear everything. I did an in person consult and I could hear him speaking with other potential clients and overheard him explaining to another girl how she might have body dysmorphia - without so many words. This solidified my decision, because I believe an uncaring plastic surgeon would have just said yes to a patient that wanted to get hundreds of thousands of dollars of work done. I will say that his bedside manor is a little rough. He handles your face with force. I don't need to be treated like I'm made out of porcelain but just be aware because it shook me a little bit. And I don't mean during the surgery, because obviously liposuction is no easy feat, I mean during consult while moving your face or injecting with anesthesia. Like damn, not even my dentist handled my face like that when I got my wisdom teeth out. Like some other reviewers mentioned sometimes the office isn't as timely with sharing information. I mostly communicated with them through text to ask questions and they were always kind to me. But yes, it's a little annoying having to worry about your appointments and tracking people down to confirm events. Or they'll tell you with little notice and I'd have to point out if I wasn't available at time. In conclusion, he's an expensive surgeon, but I trust his expertise and am happy with my results. I have been self conscious about the little bit of fat under my chin since I was 15. At age 21 I finally decided to undergo chin lipo surgery and chose Dr. Patel due to his experience and abundance of clear, informative, and transparent YouTube videos about the topic (and he is local in my case). I appreciated how his business gives the total price up front on their website as well. As for the process of setting up appointments and communicating with his staff everything was great except for one small exchange over the phone with an assistant. I was running late to an appointment (my fault of course) and I called her number to let her know. Her tone was dismissive and she sounded like she was thinking "why the heck are you calling me." However, this was the only "unfriendly" experience I had with them. In terms of the actual procedure the numbing shot was pretty painful. I was say a 7/10 in pain (for me). This pain only lasted a few minutes. The procedure itself was painless. Some swelling and lots of numbness in that area for the 4-6 weeks after. The lymphatic massages that you have to give yourself are like a 4/10 pain - so not horrible but definitely uncomfortable. But it'll help the results! As for the results there is most definitely a difference. It's been about 11 weeks now so I can see what it will look like from now on though 26 weeks/6 months is when you are fully healed. Yes, I'm more confident, yes I like my side profile better, yes there is no more double chin when I open up my camera and it's facing me lol. I do have a scar under my chin from the incision that looks like a little white ball the shape of a pea which is annoying, though this is an uncommon thing that happens to people. There's also slight unevenness under my chin (like more fat could have been taken out from the sides of my chin in my opinion). I knew these things could happen though...just bummed that it did. I do have to say that as a person with perfectionist tendencies and body dysmorphia I am not totally satisfied but that could be due to my unrealistic expectations since I have a weaker jaw bone structure and full cheeks. All that to say I don't regret the procedure. Lastly I appreciated that Dr Patel addressed unrealistic expectations and how to not obsess over the results but rather move on and hold on to that new found confidence whether or not the results stay. I just appreciated him talking about the mental and emotional side of things too. read more

I WAITED ALMOST 2 hrs to write this review as I wanted other board certified plastic surgeon views. I came here for chin lipo and couldn't wait based on all the instagram photos. Beware unless you have a huge following that he can profit on he will NOT do a good job. After almost 2 years and 3 plastic surgeon consults all told me he did a poor job on my left side. This is because he nicked me and I bled like crazy I live 6 hrs away and he patched me up and sent me on my way that which I thought was odd as he spent triple the amount on one side than the other I bled thru all the gauze within an hr being on the road . Head hair everything was covered in blood and my recovery was a month vs a week. I look like I tried to hang myself of how bad the bruising was thankfully I worked from home and didn't have to take time off. They should of kept me under observation knowing what he did as there is very little room for error and the bleeding I was experiencing could have killed me as there is very little room in the throat for obstruction. Front desk girls are sweet and nice till you pay then they barely acknowledge you. You have to pay a company to send your meds to the office which I did and when I was sent home I looked into the bag and my pain meds not only were they open unlike the rest but they gave me someone else's meds and were missing half the bottle which I didn't take and threw out and asked to have meds sent to my pharmacy at home. I brought up my concern on my left side the first follow up I had and he stated do your massage which I was having done and did myself and 2nd follow up he said he couldn't determine as we weren't face to face so I drove 6 hrs to my 3rd follow up which he stated it's loose skin (it wasn't, confirmed by other plastic surgeons) and that he won't do anything to fix HIS MISTAKE and that's what he was writing in my file. 6 hr drive 1 hr wait for 5 min appt. Mind you I sent him at least 3 people and hate that I vouched for him to all the DM I was getting before I healed. If I would have paid with a credit card I would have disputed this but I was dumb and paid in cash. 2 yrs you have to dispute with credit card if you are botched and that's what he did DR. PATEL BOTCHED ME. I am left paying more out of pocket now to fix HIS MISTAKES. Beware I'm not the only one he did this too as you can read other reviews. Pay a little more and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I am so grateful for Dr. Patel and his team! I had originally contacted the office in 2020 (at the recommendation of a friend) but was dealing with a health issue that made my weight extremely unstable. Dr. Patel told me that the procedure I was looking into wasn't in my best interests as a patient at that time-- a class act. I held off until that issue was resolved and returned in 2022.
