Morel mushroom gnocchi are excellent. Save bread for the sauce! Also enjoyed the stuffed Yorkshire pudding and the crab & seafood cakes. All dessert made in house. Yum! Attentive service. Small quiet bistro in an easily accessible location.

It was late and we were hungry, but not starving as we had a late lunch. We ordered the bread to start, French onion soup, and salads for our mains. We also ordered the flight of red which I thought was great for the price and you got to try the chef selection of 3 different reds. Our sever was the only one working, but she was still attentive to all of us that were there (I think there were 3 large parties and us). I thought the French onion soup could have had a little bit more taste, but maybe I just like things a little more on the saltier side... the salad hit the spot, and who doesn't like baguettes with butter? Beautiful ambiance and a nice place for a date or friends to hang out. There were a couple of things I would have loved to try, maybe I will have to go back an empty stomach...

Alberta Beef Burger with added gruyere cheese and kennebec fries...delicious burger. Homemade patty. Oh sooo GOOD!!

This little gem was recommended by our massage therapist Mackenzie from One Wellness. It surpassed our expectations. Reggie was our server and he was fantastic. His recommendations were spot on. The French Onion Soup was one of the best I've ever had super rich and cheesy. The Alberta Beef Burger with the added gruyere cheese and kennebec fries was just amazing. This is a definite must and we will definitely be back. Thank you Reggie and Sage Bistro for the awesome experience.

Was Here with a group of colleagues for a special function. Loved this setting from the top floor - It felt like a log cabin, with the Mountain View all around us. The food itself is good, quality for a group setting. I ordered the schnitzel which was really good and fresh. I did not care for the dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive.

It was dark but the food here looks about as bland as it tasted.

This was a very lacklustre meal. I like the restaurant with its log cabin construction and cozy tables. The layout is neat and the view of the mountains is pretty. They have a pretty good wine selection as well. I had the "confit Cornish hen with red rice pilaf , savory sage-bourbon pan gravy, and market vegetables" and my dining companion had the pork chop. They warn you the pork chop will take about 20 minutes which is fine if you're there for a leisurely dinner which we were. But when it made its long awaited entrance it was tough and overlooked. I asked the server for a recommendation when I couldn't decide between the macaroni and cheese or the Cornish hen. She told me it depended whether I wanted pasta or Cornish hen. Thanks I guess? Not really what I expect from fine dining. My Cornish hen was ok. Not horrible. It was mostly bland. By the end of our mediocre meals we had enough and didn't go for dessert.

We had those wonderful Lobster fritters and an awesome antipasto plater for two with salmon, duck, different cheeses and spreads. But the best of all was a s'mores chocolate tart. Very friendly and quick service. Wednesday is wine night, you get every bottle half prize! Highly recommend this place for a laid back evening!

Came here for our last dinner in Canmore on the recommendation of our hotel. The service was excellent but the food was just okay. We ordered the French onion soup and green salad to start and they were good, not spectacular but definitely not bad. We then had the pork belly and the lamb shank for our main course. The pork belly was good, but the vegetables had a candied fruit added, that overwhelmed the veggies with sweetness. The lamb shank was very tender and the veggies were cooked to perfection. The only complaint was the gravy which was a bit 'brown' tasting (if that makes any sense). We'd try it again but probably order different dishes from the menu.

Summer risotto with wild boar and fennel sausage.

We were on our honeymoon and ended up dining at Juniper three separate times during our trip. That alone should say something. The food quality, consistency, and service were exceptional every single visit. Our server, Hera, delivered service that genuinely surpassed what we've experienced at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants. Attentive without hovering, warm, knowledgeable, and effortlessly professional, she made each meal feel special and memorable. On a honeymoon, that level of care matters, and she nailed it. The food deserves its own spotlight. The Eggs Benedict is the best we've ever had. Perfectly executed, balanced, rich without being heavy, and clearly made with intention. The Churro French Toast is unforgettable: indulgent, crisp, soft, and expertly seasoned. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, not just "good for a hotel restaurant," but genuinely outstanding by any standard. We regularly dine at Michelin-recognized restaurants, and while Juniper Bistro is not Michelin-listed, the food quality here was better than many Michelin meals we've had. That's not hyperbole, it's an honest comparison.

Loved the lentils (which shocked me because I don't really care for lentils) and the amuse bouche could've been my meal. It was some beet gazpacho that tasted like heaven. I also don't like gazpacho so... The tenderloin was fantastic. The king crab was so inventive and all were beautifully presented. I'm not a fish person so I can't speak to the fish course, but my mom ate hers and mine so that seems telling. Dessert was A+. Every course was delicious and Matt was knowledgeable and enjoyable. My mom was a little surprised when she ordered a glass of wine that it was $36 when the bill came (there weren't prices for by the glass that they showed us), but that was the only hiccup. Shocked this is closing and not reopening.

In addition to the 6 courses, we had an amuse bouche, a palate cleanser, and I think they surprised us with an extra dessert or two. It was decadent. Delicious - favorites were the sprouted lentil, the tenderloin, and the lobster emulsion and brioche. Yum. My face: very reasonably priced, so a big smile - and maybe a yawn, as it was a more than 3 hour dinner experience. Tasting menu for two came out to something like $300. Gotta love the exchange rate.

It was also delicious and had little tiny mini salt crystals on it which gave it a lot of flavor. My only slight disappointment was the choice of background music. It had too much of a 12345678 up beat to it. When they play music with this kind of a tempo, you can definitely see all of the waiters and waitresses walking to the beat of the music, but I think it also rushes people in eating and digestion. It makes people hurry up because you could literally see people chewing to the beat of the music I don't even know if the Restaurant realizes the psychology behind the choice of music But overall, I enjoyed everything I came there to eat and everything tasted good for me. I just would've had a different choice to music preference
