This is a very cute little hidden place with tasty food! I wanted the eggplant parm, but they were out of it for the night so I went with the butternut squash ravioli special and it was really good! It's not the biggest portion of food, but the prices are low so it matches up. Meals come with a side salad and bread which is a nice touch. Our server was very sweet and helpful and the food came out quickly! I'll definitely be back and hopefully will get to try the eggplant next time! read more

Just OK Sages has been around for a long time but I couldn't remember how long it had been since my last visit. So I decided to give them a try. The interior is homey and comfortable and the server was friendly and helpful. Prices are very fair, especially an early bird which was a full-sized entrée and a side salad for only $13. I started with their eggplant roll-up, usually called an eggplant rollatini. It was very tasty and the serving was quite large. The salad was quite basic but nice enough. I chose the Sages Bistro Chicken, offered on the early bird menu, for my entrée. It was just OK. The chicken was on top of pasta. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the sauce on the pasta which left a puddle of oil in the bottom of the dish. I felt greasy by the time I finished. Sages was fine, but not the Italian restaurant I'll go to regularly. I probably should have given them 3 stars, but I want to be supportive of local businesses. read more

This wasn't my first choice but after looking around I decided to try this place for food to-go and I am really glad I did. I decided to get the chicken marsala and it came with homemade bread and a nice side salad. For the salad I got blue cheese dressing and the dressing was amazing without the flavor of the blue cheese being too overpowering. The chicken marsala was great as well, the chicken was cooked wonderfully and was super tender. It was sliced nicely and there was a real nice amount of it on top of the bed of linguini they placed it on. The pasta was cooked well but a little bit of it you could tell was a little overcooked. The marsala sauce was amazing and the mushrooms in it were fresh as well. The meal also came with some fresh and scratch made bread, but the only weird thing was that it was given in a Ziploc bag instead of being wrapped to prevent the heat from making it soggy. Overall the bread was very good but didn't have that much of a crisp to it. It tasted a little too much like generic store bought sliced bread. I will definitely be coming back here again when I am in the area and in the mood for some good Italian food again! read more

Came here on the Friday after dinner and the place was pretty empty, only 3 of the tables were occupied. It's a very cute and quaint looking place, complete with a bar, where there was one person sitting enjoying his dinner. I picked up a chicken parmesan, chicken marsala and stuffed sheiks dinner. They came with a house salad and some bread on the side. The salad was a basic salad but the onions they added were too many and too overpowering. The blue cheese dressing we got was delicious. My chicken parm was so tender and so delicious and the marinara sauce on the pasta was just right. I don't like sweet tomato sauce and thankfully this wasn't sweet. The chicken marsala and stuffed shells were enjoyed as well. Nice sized portions on the chicken dishes with enough leftover for lunch the next day. We saw the sign on west bay and decided to go in. The food was delicious. I had the eggplant grinder with sauce. For those of you who don't know what a grinder is; it's a "hoagie", "sub" "Italian sandwich" or "poboy". Mine came with a side and it's basic no thrills potato salad. Depends on where you grew up. The sauce is sweet not spicy. My husband had the pizza and the crust was crunchy and thin - medium. Great lunch specials and reasonable prices overall. I decided to stop in for an early dinner after an appointment. I had been here a few times before and for the dinner special prices, it has been worth an occasional stop. The waitress seated me in a booth, not very comfortable. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza and also has a small bar. Two customers were enjoying drinks at the bar. A small group was sitting in an adjoining room and what appeared to be playing a card game. I decided to try the special, Calzone with a side Salad and Tiramisu for dessert. The Calzone was tasty and for the price the portion size was appropriate, but I would have enjoyed more filling. The house salad was nothing to write home about. Plain bag lettuce with sparingly watered down dressing, this has been a repeated event. The Tiramisu was not home made, but it was good. I did enjoy my glass of wine. I would have liked another glass of wine, however the waitress never checked on me again until my food was all gone. read more

This is based on just me trying this one and not knowing if the staff is friendly or anything because i had it delivered. With that being said I've just had by far the most disgusting pasta dish I've ever had. I got a chicken parm and it was not edible. Their was this tiny little piece of chicken. With a ton of spaghetti that were equally disgusting. The chicken though had like no cheese at all and was undercooked. I actually had to spit it out. It was my birthday and thought I'd splurge on special meal. Ordered the linguine with white clam sauce. They basically put pre-cooked linguine in a container, threw some chopped clams mixed with way too much oregano on top of it and called it a day. There was no garlic, no oil or butter, just plain boiled pasta with clams. Spent $30, took a few bites and threw it away. read more

We stopped by here, hungry for a pizza. This family run restaurant is very clean and there is ample seating. The service was prompt and friendly. We started with a side salad with their wonderful house Italian dressing. We got the thin crust "The Works" pizza. It was pretty good. The hot peppers weren't too spicy and the sausage was tasty and moist. When we return(and we will) we're going to try more items on the menu. As we played the looky-loos, all of the food around us looked very appealing. The chicken with Alfredo sauce and the toasted ravioli looked particularly awesome. We chose the thin crust version with "the works", Pepperoni, Sausage, Onions, Green Peppers, Olives, (hold the Hot Peppers). Very good! Tried to give local business some love. Submitted a large catering order for a retirement party at our office. $500 worth of food, including 3 large entrees which are supposed to feed 16 people each. One was the chicken Alfredo dish and it arrived with 10 chicken breasts in a pan of oil. We called and said you forgot the pasta and Patty said the "meat dishes don't come with pasta". No one orders chicken Alfredo thinking they will receive a chicken breast a la carte. This should be clearly explained when you order to avoid confusion. Also, 10 chicken breasts ($90!) doesn't feed 16 people. After some dismay and rebuttals she did end up bringing over noodles with Alfredo, that everyone loved, but she was clearly not happy about it. She ran the card over the phone afterwards, so then getting a receipt to submit for business purposes was a challenge. Suggest in future to bring receipt with your delivery. We finally got it and the price was different than what she quoted me. She added a "service charge" of $15, which was a delivery fee. I have in an email she wasn't going to charge us that. But didn't feel like disputing it after the hassle to get the credit card receipt. She seems overwhelmed and maybe needs to hire help to provide better customer experience. Everyone liked the food a lot, but based on customer service we won't send any business there. Could have been a nice gig for her as we get lunches provided by reps 2-3x a week. read more

Ordered delivery. The pizzas and slices were very large. Good flavor. Good amount of toppings. Felt that the middle of the pizza was a little too soggy for my liking. My husband and niece really liked the flavor of the crust. We ordered pepperoni, cheese, and the works. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but was definitely not the worst. Last night we hosted an 80th Birthday party for my motherin law and it turned out wonderful. This resturaunt has a separate room that accommodated our 29 guests perfectly. The owner, Patty was wonderful to work with. Their staff had everything set up the way we had discussed earlier in the week. They were so accommodating. The wait staff was friendly and quick. Our guests all had positive remarks about their experience. The food was good and offered something for everyone at reasonable prices. They allowed us to bring in decorations and our own cake. Skip it. I've been here twice and the food is really unimpressive. They have a decent assortment of Italian-inspired food, but it is all overcooked and flavorless. Definitely don't order anything with eggplant unless you like mush. The service was fine the first time we went, but we went recently and it was just terrible. The bartender/waitress was nice enough but spent most of her time talking to the hostess/busboy who was just sitting at the bar with her glass of wine being really loud. I assume she's also the owner, because I can't see that being acceptable otherwise. So, slow service and lackluster food, you'd think at least it's cheap, right? Nope, it's not. It pains me to have to write a less than stellar review, especially for a small family owned business in Largo. I dined with a group of six for a business meeting. I had never been to Sages West Bay Bistro so was looking forward to trying a new place close to home. The server was very attentive and friendly. The wine choices were not clear and I ordered the cabernet. Sad to say, they need a better selection of wines. We were advised before we arrived that the menu was a Greek salad and eggplant Parmesan. I was looking forward since it is a favorite of mine. The salad was well made with very fresh ingredients, but it was not a Greek salad and there was an unidentifiable bland soft cheese throughout. The eggplant parmesan was a total letdown. It was dry, over breaded and overcooked. The eggplant was sparse. The bottom layer was actually burnt. No bread was served with the meal. I might return to try a pizza or another dish that many diners have given high marks for on the site but honestly can't do so with my experience. read more

I have given this place several chances . The cook was extremely rude when he came out of the kitchen 1 time for extra dressing and sauce as so was the owner. I was paying for it so their was no reason to get attitude. Especially when the cook says to the bartender, here you F.... mushrooms. Pretty much the same with the sauce and dressings. Made me and the server/ bartender uncomfortable the the owner gave me attitude. The chicken Marsala wasn't coated In flower. I've never had it they way before I'm my life! Not good. I wouldn't even of given it 1 star if insider have to . I recommended friends to go there 3'or 4 I believe. They won't be going there either. You should treat your customers better. I am all for local businesses. But this is one who just lost several customers!! Never again. I know my friends won't go their after the pics I showed them and my experience. It's a shame you treat people this way . I can't believe you let your cook come out and speak that way and curse so we can all hear him.
