I wish I could give this facility zero stars…read more The care my grandmother received here was deeply concerning and ultimately devastating for our family. She was only a resident for 12 days, and during that time my mother visited multiple times every single day--morning, afternoon, and often again in the evening. What she witnessed was alarming. My grandmother was not receiving the wound care that had been specifically ordered by her surgeon and physicians, and her ostomy bag was not being properly cleaned or maintained. My mother repeatedly raised these concerns with staff on a daily basis, yet there seemed to be little urgency or accountability. Despite our family's efforts to advocate for her, my grandmother's condition continued to deteriorate under their care. The most heartbreaking part is what happened next. My grandmother began hemorrhaging and was found around 5:30 a.m. Our family was never told that staff had waited approximately two hours before deciding to contact emergency personnel. We only learned about this delay after another staff member privately pulled my mother aside and informed her of what had occurred. The fact that such a critical delay was not disclosed to our family only adds to our concerns about the level of care and transparency provided by this facility. By the time she was transferred to the hospital, she required ICU-level care. Tragically, she passed away. Our family firmly believes that proper care, timely intervention, and adherence to her physicians' orders could have made a significant difference. Instead, we lost a beloved grandmother whose life mattered and deserved better. Because of the seriousness of these concerns, we have filed a complaint with the state and requested an investigation into this facility's practices. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. If you are considering placing a loved one here, I strongly encourage you to thoroughly research all available options. No family should have to experience the pain, heartbreak, and loss that ours has endured.

She had prior medical issues, so we were told that her care would be managed by a medical team which included an M.D., only to find out that an M.D. was let go and no longer on staff the day my mom passed away. We don't believe she was ever under the care of a medical doctor any of the days she was at this facility, which is medical negligence and fraud! They all work together as a team, listen to all your needs, take the time to work on your issues to keep you informed. They do many different Pt. before, after surgery, dry needling, other needs. They help each patient, to make sure doing well, and explain if you are not sure why this exercise is good for you. They also give you a plan if you can do them at home. Easy to make appointments. After hospitalization at Mercy Gilbert, my wife was transferred here for rehabilitation. It was…read moreonly supposed to be for a few days, but we still did our due diligence to identify a reputable facility. From that perspective, this location seemed reasonable. But, it was not. Upon arrival, their intake process did not cover anything specific about why she was there or any particular concerns. This was a problem because there were important diet restrictions. Further, the nurse doing the intake seemed incredulous -- responding "you don't believe in anything" -- when my wife answered "no specific religious beliefs." The nurse skipped the "do you feel safe" questions commenting that she would skip those because I (her husband) was in the room. That's exactly why you ask those questions AND YOU DO NOT SKIP THEM. After that, they brought in her dinner, before checking her glucose, which was precisely what led us to the hospital to begin with. When I expressed my concerns with the charge nurse, they came to the room to discuss and indicated that we could always reach them by phone -- a phone they always have with them (though he had inadvertently forgotten it at his desk, so he did not -- in fact -- have it with him). The PT/OT was okay, it was slated for 3 hours a day. But outside of that, my wife could not do any of her own recovery or work -- including walking. So she'd be sitting or lying for the remaining 21 hours in the day. That didn't seem conducive to recovery. We ended up leaving the facility after one night. The facility itself was fairly nice, and a handful of the staff were helpful, but overall it was not a place that I would recommend. I have zero confidence in their ability to provide the level of care expected or desired.

The people were really nice and they worked very hard. You need to realize; however, that this is not a resort. They assist a lot of people, with different needs who require precise medical care. There is a degree of "regimentation" with med time, meal time, shower day, therapy time. They do try to have some fun with posted activities to try. I am now looking at additional surgery on my knee and I would not hesitate returning to The Center at Val Vista for my recovery.

Blair is one of the most loving, caring, and genuinely fun people I have ever met. Every time I visit, I see Blair going above and beyond to make the residents happy and engaged. I've personally seen him singing, creating art, organizing games and activities, and helping make birthdays and other celebrations special. He has such a natural ability to bring energy and happiness into the room, and it's obvious that he truly cares about the people he works with. I actually plan some of my visits around when I know Blair will be there because I know Nana Baby Cakes and I are going to have a more fun and memorable time. Im amazed at their knowledgeable base and skill. The one on one attention to your injury is what I value most. Other places I've been in the past don't compare. My pain management doctor was thrilled I chose Endurance Rehab because of the attention to the patient and thorough treatment plan. I have two herniated discs on my neck which have caused me a lot of pain. After working with Jordan I now have a lot more flexibility in my neck and my pain has been greatly reduced!
