We had the most wonderful time here for dinner last week! We got riding on a Friday night and we're treated like the only people in the restaurant. The service is absolutely perfect and very, very friendly. We decided to try the twisty bread, a Lions meat lovers's pizza and some wings. A little bit of everything. I absolutely loved the twisty bread $6 and I think everyone should try it at least once. 10/10 We were told that the dough is made in-house every morning. These delectable big twisties don't even need a sauce. They're so good on their own. Buttery Parmesan goodness. I will be back for these. We also ordered a medium size plate of barbecue chicken wings. We would usually get the hot ones, but we had two kids with us in tow. And it came out to be like 20 wings on the plate. It was much bigger portion than I anticipated and I was so happy because they were also just very very good! Cooked to perfection and sauced very well. 10/10 We ordered a large Lions Feast pizza and the crust is perfect. It is fluffy and the right amount of chewiness. Not too thin. The sauce is rich and the toppings are plentiful. We had so much food left over that we ate the leftovers for two more meals. 10/10 $26 The Beer and margaritas also are exceptional! We cannot wait to come back and we will definitely be having some future parties here as the prices are very reasonable and even cheaper than some other pizza places in the area. First of all, the interior is great, nice open space and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pepperoni pizza wasn't our favorite in the area, maybe just a preference but we were so happy with the wings which were cooked perfectly and the sauces were delicious too. Way better than the typical za sauce. You can definitely tell it's a marinara sauce. The quality of toppings is there too. Crust is good, nothing really special but that is okay. Toppings, cheese, and sauce make a pizza in my top 5 places in Puget sound. I will make this my go to when I pass through black diamond. Not sure when that will be but a must to stop! We have tried a bunch of different pizzas from Sahara from Philly cheese steak, jalapeño popper, pineapple Canadian bacon, pep, cheese, cheesy bread. I'd go back because their pizza is good and their ranch is delish BUT their customer service sucks and they talk crap about you before you even leave the store. We ordered 70 dollars plus worth food and asked for paper plates and the worker said, " uh, how many because the owners are really picky about giving them out?" we said 15 and she said she could only give out like 5. So weird, why even ask then?!? We're buying pizza for a certain amount of people why wouldn't you give out paper plates for that many people or just not offer them at all?!? Recently moved to the area and initially wasn't impressed with the pizza selections and as I worked through the options Sahara's turn had come up, and wow I'm glad it did! As a thin-crust fan, I was super satisfied in all possible ways. -The crust texture is crispy but soft at the same time, almost like a perfect NY pizza crust and a coruscant had a baby -The sauce was fragrant and slightly sweet which was amazing -The cheese tasted really good not like chain pizza cheese like actual real cheese! -The toppings tasted good, and if anything there may have been too much toppings but that's definitely a good problem to have! Black Diamond is still a small town, business-wise, but they are well known for their baked goods. Pizza is definitely at the top of the list here! Sahara Pizza is one of the best around; they have a great menu, with some clever topping combinations available, or you can design your own favorite. The new owners have expanded back into the dining area, so you can sit down & enjoy your pie, take it to go, or order delivery. My favorite is always the Lion's Feast, but the Ultimate Sahara is a close second. For something different, try the Tikki Tikki with Dijon! Naturally, any order isn't complete without a side of colossal Garlic Cheesy bread, hot wings, or a pair of lava cakes. If you remember the former level of service here, you'll be thrilled to know that this location is now owned and managed by the folks who run the Black Bear Outpost; the same fantastic, friendly service is now reflected in both storefronts. This was my first time trying Sahara Pizza and I was impressed. The small 8 inch pizza was easily enough for 1 for lunch. Salads are huge and tasted great. I don't get all the negative reviews. We have always liked their pizza. I love pepperoni that curls up a little bit in the oven and gets crispy edges. This place has hung in there and survived Covid when many places have not. It's currently being ran by Clyde and his dad. They are really the only two employees. They can't find staff and had to close the dining room and go to take out only. They couldn't find reliable delivery drivers and had to stop delivery. I really feel for these guys and their pizza is really good. Everyone is having a hard time finding staff these days. If we don't support small businesses like this, they will dry up and you will need to go all the way to Four Corners or Enumclaw for a decent pizza. Have a heart, eat a pizza! read more

Ordered two pizzas for delivery. Delivery fee is $5.25. Ordered the ultimate Sahara and buffalo chicken. I also ordered both with thin crust. The order took about an hour for delivery but that was disclosed so no issue on that. The delivery person was nice and friendly. They both had good flavor but I can't get over the crust being soggy towards the middle. I also find the crust texture a bit too gritty. Maybe the cornmeal they used was a bit too much? It was also a little too greasy. Between the two, I preferred the buffalo pizza as it had a good tangy flavor. The Sahara pizza was a bit sweet which I didn't get bec it was all meat with onions, bell peppers and olives. All in all, it was an ok pizza. First time here. We ordered extreme pepperoni, big family house salad, and firebird pizza. I had the firebird as I wanted to try something different. For me, I would've preferred mozzarella on this pizza vs gorgonzola cheese. Everything else was hot and delicious. I love it when the salad is crisp and fresh. *Sahara Pizza - Black Diamond* This will be kind of a long winded review. I called on Friday evening, the same as I do on most Friday evenings. I got through to an employee over the phone who directed me to order from their website, which was weird because I am normally prompted to an automatic answering service. I went to their website and filled out the order that I wished to place and pushed submit but nothing happened. I then tried to call back to the location but the line was being weird. It acted as if the line was disconnected, but I could still hear the Sahara Pizza "jingle" in the background. I tried to call 2 more times and had the same issue, I even put the phone on speaker for my wife because it was extremely confusing. Finally on the fourth try I was connected with the employee that directed me to their website. I explained the situation/issue to which he says "I GUESS I can take your order over the phone" lackadaisically. This is where I found the customer service to be lacking entirely. I've worked in the food industry for 15 years as a general manager and an executive chef and I would NEVER tolerate my employees speaking to a customer in that fashion. At this point I ask to speak to the manager and reiterate the situation with his employee that I've stated above, to which he tells me "Good for you, are you trying to put me on the spot because if so this conversation is over". I mutually hung up the phone and immediately got in my car and drove down to the location. When I got there I asked the man behind the counter if he was the one who was answering the phone about 10 minutes ago. He says to me "no, but I believe we spoke". I said to him "so you're the manager?", He says to me "I'm the owner, and my employee said you called him an asshole last week when you ordered" Last week when I ordered I spoke to the automated system and ordered the same pizza I got tonight with an added cheesy bread. The driver delivered, I tipped, all was well. This week when I try to order I was met with a lazy employee that couldn't be bothered to enter something into a computer the same was it's been done my entire life. OVER THE PHONE. Pen, paper, pencil, scribe it in stone, I don't care. It's a pizza place that couldn't be bothered to interact with a customer, however the entire time I was in there the phone didn't ring once. ‍ The employee has lied to his manager about me, probably under the assumption that I wouldn't come down to speak with them in person. The manager/owner is irrational and not willing to accept that type of behavior as unsatisfactory with his employees, as I have never disrespected a food service worker, because I myself have worked as an employee and a manager and do my best to make their day as good as their supposed to make mine. I will take my business down to the other pizza place in town from here on out where I am greeted with kindness and some sense of respect. $50 a week + tip, 56 weeks in a year, that totals out to $3640 of missed sales in one fell swoop. We made the mistake of coming in here on a Friday night without calling ahead - My wife ordered the pizza inside, then was told it would be a half hour... oops. We were able to grab plenty of cheese and chili peppers to go (grab extra, there isn't much in a packet!), and were happy to be on our way. The pizza itself was nice and greasy, with plenty of pineapple and ham as topping. The crust is garlic-heavy and medium thickness, which was great for us. The large price was good at $11 and had two people bursting at our seams, would probably feed 3 people perfectly. This pizza is so good! Tried it for the first time tonight, we will be back! So many toppings. Just loaded. The crust was very good, soft but crispy on the bottom. Just perfect. The number one reason why we order from here? They deliver. We live on a side street of a side street in between Auburn and Maple Valley. Sahara is, literally, the only pizza place we have found that delivers to our address. (Not including Ubereats...) But after 3 deliveries, this place deserves a decent review. Their pizza is amazing! We have been more than satisfied with every pizza so far, and are anxious to keep trying different combos. The couple extra choices on their menu elevates Sahara above other pizza places simply because most pizza ingredients are pretty universal. But salmon, philly steak, ricotta, flavored chicken, pesto, etc... These are second tier pizza toppings and they can make all the difference in how you remember your meal. Plus, the quality of the ingredients and of the pizzas as a whole is top notch. A true mark of a well made pizza is the crust. A restaurant can cover mediocrity with ingredients and different flavors, but if you don't want to eat every bite of the crust at the end of a slice, then the pizza is not that great. I have not had that issue with a Sahara pizza, yet. The crust/dough is amazing, the quality is amazing, the amount of choices in toppings is amazing, their delivery range is amazing... Need I say more? Lastly...This is less a critique and more of a suggestion. We made a mozz, cream cheese, salmon pizza on white sauce. Amazing, as always. But... A good salmon dish often needs capers. My wife and I both agreed, if capers was an option, we would have added them to the salmon pizza without question.
