We decided to go because I found the summer deal on Groupon. We went on a Friday there were quite a few camp groups as well as families, but not overly crowded. The space was pretty clean and well kept for what it is. The wave pool is basically a regular sized motel swimming pool with weak waves lasting for about a few minutes at a time. The lazy river spans the perimeter of the facility indoor. The lifeguards are friendly and patient with the kids. I do feel like the deal price should be regular price. Because at a fraction of the size of six flags water park, I feel like asking for the same entrance fee is crazy. All in all it was decent if you need to get out the house and cool off. read more

We got discounted tix through Groupons to visit and was really looking forward to it as this was our first visit and might end up being our last because of the lack of cleanliness. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place 2 star is because the kids had fun on the water rides and activities. We stayed because the kids had fun. Way too many people come here with their kids for it to be this nasty. The staff isn't friendly either. They act like they don't want to be there (I can't say I blame them). The person at the counter appeared annoyed at the fact that I was using vouchers from Groupons and pointblank told me "I hate those things." Again, this was my family's first visit and first impressions are everything. This place gets overcrowded real quick and although their are chairs throughout the facility you might have trouble finding a place to sit or place your belongings. You can rent a locker for $20 a pop with in/out access to it for the duration of your visit. If I were forced to visit again I would enter with as minimal as possible to avoid needing to use a locker. I felt so yucky I didn't want any of my clean belongings touching anything in this place. My husband and I took turns with getting in the water with the kids so one of us could hold on to personal belongings like cell phones/wallets etc. The facility has a snack counter with items like pretzels, chips, funnel cake etc. The food counter is in a separate part of the facility and caters to the SAD diet (Standard American Diet)..processed foods, refined carbs and sugar...pizza, chicken tenders, burgers, hot dogs, fries, those sorts of "foods". Had a birthday celebration here and made reservations in advance. If you want a cabana, get it ahead of time or run the risk of not getting one due to limitations. The kids loved it, being able to go from inside water attractions to outside attractions. They made friends and tired themselves out by the time we decided to leave. I had my daughter's party here today and it was not good. The party was not organized we had a host but the host was not present for most of the party and didn't indicate where anything was. The person taking the money at the front had an attitude like she did not want to be there and was very sarcastic when answering questions. This was my first time having a party there so I was confused at the party flow I said hey nobody is in the party we have no direction on what's going on and she rudely corrected me saying "okkkk so this is your part host here" as if to say don't ask me anything else ma'am I'm just here to sit here and get paid. I then asked if I could get another pizza and I was told they can't get it for me I have to go order it myself from the cafeteria. I felt that was very unprofessional. I decided to host my daughter's 5yo birthday at Big Kahuna's. This is also my first experience with them. The place itself is not that big, but a good size for kids and family to have some fun. A good size area of water fun and splashing with two kiddie slides, where one was not opened that day when I was there. There were about 4 tube slides, but only 2 or 3 were available that day. The place is pretty clean in general. Women and men restroom plus locker rooms and shower area inside the indoor water park. There are additional changing rooms for families. Lockers are available for rental. Next to the indoor waterpark is a cafe where you can buy food and drinks. There is also a outside waterpark and a section for arcade and games. Not alot of games though but the party package included arcade cards for the kids to play. They got their own parking lot. I hosted the party on Sunday morning; there were plenty of spots available. Party packages, in my opinion, might be a bit pricey. But this is for an indoor waterpark, so what can I say. I did added some food in my package because the birthday package doesn't cover food for adults, which I feel a bit disappointed since I am paying over $500 that doesn't even provide food for my adult guests. Food wise, they only cover 2 slices of pizza for the kids. Their service, overall, is excellent. The staff were awesome, especially the party director, Mackenzie, who was very polite and friendly. Although I have reached out to another staff via email and over the phone, but that lady doesn't sound too friendly. Not the polite and welcoming customer service tone, instead blunt and rushing vibes. Really disappointed in the lack of cleanliness & customer service at this water amusement venue. When we were Sahara Sam's seasons pass holders, it was much different. We rented a cabana outside. The cabana was dirty, holes in the roof, stuck on ketchup & other black sticky stuff stuck on some of the legs of the chairs. There was an entire bucket of dirty water behind our cabana. Maybe they use it to kill mosquito larvae, regardless, it was nasty. Yuck. The customer service wasn't as good as it used to be. The call buttons on the coolers don't work, the servers are slow to check in or they're just disinterested. It was very annoying to get up & see several workers sitting around the bar outside and not checking in on their cabana guest regularly. Our server was sweet & checked in occasionally, but, I felt like, for as much money as we spent to be there, it wasn't nearly enough. I guess they assume people aren't going to buy to many of the overpriced drinks. Everything is outrageously expensive. Bought my kid pool shoes there for $20, they broke immediately & they wouldn't refund them or at least gives us another pair. From the soft drinks to the spirits, it was just ridiculouslly overpriced & not a hint of alcohol in these cocktails. My child wanted a Sprite, unfortunately when they got it, the syrup was out & it wasn't carbonated the way that Sprite usually is so it was like flat club soda. The cocktails are just full of juice and that was disappointing. There were so many summer camps there & you recognized them because the kids were outta control & running amok, trying to cut in front of other guest in slide lines. They were running around the outside pool area and acting like park apes in the pools but at the end of their visit, those who had life vest on, took them off & left them exactly were they were standing. So there were vest in the wave pool, vest on the ground around the pool deck areas. Needless to say, workers weren't to keen on removing them & hanging them up where they belonged. But it did feel more comfortable & quite when the summer camp kids left. They should only be able to come on designated days & for a shorter amount of time. They pretty much stole some of the joy out of the experience for other kids there because they were so overly rambunctious & their counselors weren't counseling, they were just as out of control at times. We likely won't be returning which sux because it's so local. But, I'd rather give Disney all my money because they pride themselves on customer service. A good time for kiddos! Although overchlorinated, I enjoyed my time as a chaperone on a recent visit. I will say the inside needs better ventilation. Because you needed to take breaks from being inside too long. Otherwise, ride wait times were not long even with 2 of the tubes being down on the slides. Lazy river was ok. Because of the number of visitors, no repeat trips. Wave pool and outdoor large pool was the highlight. Plenty of waves and space for the kids to be kids. Outside of that, I wish there was some more family meal options. The pizza is overpriced for the amount of servings you get. I'd visit again with a little more preparation. This park has always stood up for exactly what it is. It isn't fancy, it's a little water park that is good for locals within driving distance to enjoy! That being said, sure some of the lifeguards and workers are not going to have much personality. They're minimum wage teen workers. But SOME OF THESE WORKERS?! They are so amazing. What a rip off tourist trap. This place is underwhelming to say the least and run horribly! Once you get inside you're immediately caught off guard by the arcade in the front. This place is tiny and cramped as ever! My family and I prepaid for our passes but still had to wait on a long line before the water section entry for wrist bans. Once you get inside the water entry, it's pure chaos. You have no choice but to put your stuff in lockers that cost $10-$15 each! We had 7 people with us so we had to buy two. Staff here is horrible! There was no one telling us where to even buy the wristbands for the lockers. Turns out you need a special bracelet just for that. The locker area was ridiculous! Super cramped, people pushing and shoving trying to get through, it was just a nightmare. Once you get your locker be prepared to wait again in a small crowded space for a changing room. These rooms were dirty and unkept, I was not impressed. The place itself is super tiny, I honestly expected a much larger facility based on the website and Youtube vids I saw. They have about 6 attractions in total, I am not kidding. The best attractions were the lazy river and the big tube slides. Everything else even for the kids was just meh. The fact that adults can drink here bothers me. I don't think alcohol, adults and kids should mix but apparently it's whatever goes at Sahara Sams. The overall experience of an indoor water park was cool but I would not return. This place is a rip off completely. Sahara Sam's isn't a bad waterpark. It has a number of fast slides. (Raft type, double-tube, single, mat slides). The Flow-rider is REALLY fun (boogie board type water ride). That makes me want to come back. Baby kid area is great because the water is bathtub temperature, with tiny sprinklers and 2 slides. Facility is pretty good. The not so good: People. It got congested in there around 2pm. For example, folks kept pushing others down the Lazy River ramp, to the point that the lifeguard could not control the crowd. Kids were going under. He was helpless and other visitors were selfish. Security had to step in. Order could be achieved by funneling people into an actual line instead hearding down a 10' wide ramp. Price: fair Volume: Loud. Loud from water. Loud music on top. In addition, there is an announcer girl yelling something indecipherable, ear piercing loud, for birthday parties. Meh, Def disappointed in our trip here. The condition of the park was disgusting, one slide was out of order and I was told that they NEVER open it. The staff was run by children who blew their whistles at the children non-stop. The toddler section wasn't supervised at all. So came hear with a few people and each Sahara Sam's Pass Holder can bring a friend with them to the water park for only $5! This special is limited to the select days. Free parking in the back, get there at time of opening and can get a close spot. Hears why I say get there early. Closer u are the better. Save money go inside and change and bring your stuff out to the vehicle and save yourself the locker fee. And bring lunch with you in a cooler then you can go out eat lunch and bring some folding chairs. And enjoy. The food prices are high. And it's not even that good. The water park itself was great. Indoor and out. The indoor has a hot tub for adults only and a Tiki Bar for some adult drinks only. They have a lazy river, yes it's nice, butt when you're in the Lazy River there is no waterfalls so no water is hitting you and u go around in one Circle. And done. They have a swimming pool on the inside and a swimming pool on the outside. And you don't have to worry about the water being cold it's hot outside and inside. I enjoy the outside more with the wave pool. Actually alot of fun..... They have a changing area where to change. Many bathrooms. Tons of life guards.... Have many swimming vest. We visited Sahara Sam's yesterday with our children ages 7 and 2, and we had a blast! I read some of the reviews and I was a little nervous. If you prepare and know what to expect, I think it's great, especially for the price ( you can also look online for coupon codes). There's something for everyone, especially if it's a nice day. Then, you can use the outside facilities. My toddler loved the baby play areas and I appreciate that bigger kids are kept out so that the little ones can play safely. There's an indoor and outdoor pool,a wave pool, a lazy river, Timbuktu which is like a jungle gym with water and much more. We didn't try any of the bigger slides since my kids are young, but they had a great time doing what they wanted. We got there around 11, and left about 2pm. There were several day camps so it was crowded, but you could still move around. The longest wait was for the indoor surf simulator, but each person gets a good turn. We ate before we went and again after. The food inside might seem a little pricey, but it's on par with other amusement parks. There are lots of places to eat nearby. We left most of our valuables in the car and carried the necessities in waterproof pouches. We just carried a bag with towels and the baby's sippy cup. They do use a ton of chlorine, but there are also a ton of people, so I suppose it's an effort to keep the park clean. Take a shower when you leave (or at the park) and you'll be fine. I loved the park. We were there at 10:15 am and it was not crowded at all for most of the morning. What was truly terrifying for me was about 1 hour before I left there was a woman talking to me and we were talking about COVID. Come to find out she WAS NOT VACCINATED. I am vaccinated and the realization hit me that other people who were also not vaccinated were NOT wearing masks. I keep my vaccine card on me and I also have my sons. There is NO SOCIAL DISTANCING at all as it is impossible in a pool. I hope there is something that can be done. People who are not vaccinated MUST WEAR A MASK. Went here with my husband today. Had a nice time. Fun way to knock off 2-3 hours. Don't go expecting a five star resort; it's pretty small and not a lot of rides but the ones we went on were a good time. Have been here twice because my hubby saw a great deal online for a season membership. Honestly, the place is not horrible but just too far away for us (2hr ride). We have a toddler who LOVES the kiddie section which is tiny (infant to age 4/5) I have never been on the big slides so I can't comment on them. The lazy river, which I usually love, has a dirty feel and smell to it. The outside, when hot, is actually a nice surprise. They have a dj that plays music by the bar. (I have only been there on wknds therefore not sure how often DJ is there) the outside has a very cute and pretty cool kiddie section (probably for up to age 4/5). The outside also includes a big wave pool. Overall I think it is worth it if you have kids from toddler- about early teens, older would probably get bored. Try it if you don't have to travel too far. Arrive nice and early for close parking and no lines for entry. Oh they also have a small arcade indoors which again is cool for the ages I mentioned. Hope this helps. For an indoor water park, this one is not too bad. When the main water playground is open I will update my review and probably give it more stars. (Should be 3 1/2 stars but rounded up). There are a lot of family dressing stalls, more than I've seen at other water parks. There are also a men's and women's area to change and use bathroom. My daughter did complain of the wait times there to use the bathroom as people were taking their time changing in them and was afraid people will opt to just go in the pool instead. There is a lazy river that is not as deep as others, but is good for little ones to stand up in in case they fall over, or are climbing in/out of tube. The pool area is about 4' deep and two lifeguards watching over. There is also a dual slide in this area that is fun to ride. The wave rider looked fun but was busy. A small "pond" had half for water basketball and half for a lily pad rope cross. Kids love doing this one. There are a couple big slides that even jut out the building, and a family raft slide to slide down. If you like slides check these out. A cool thing about this place is that there is a snack bar, and an actual bar you can sit and enjoy drinks and watching the game on. If someone is not into swimming there is an arcade to play games and some games to win tickets for prizes. It is easy to spend several hours here in enjoyment and I look forward to coming back. read more

Don't forget to search Groupon for some great deals for Sahara Sam's on single entry tickets. We purchased 3 tickets for 24.99 a piece. Parking was free, but lockers were $10 for a small and $15 for a large. I highly recommend lockers as I have read many reviews and reports of stolen items outside the lockers. Sahara Sam's can't really control that aspect, but the extra $15 was not expected. The park was smaller than I was expecting, but was still a decent size with a 3 and under area with a smaller slide, a smaller pool with basketball hoops, an inside park area with medium slide, lazy river, surf zone, jacuzzi for adults, larger slides, outside wave pool, outside toddler area, and an arcade area. The water inside was warm/relaxing and the water outside was a bit colder as the temperature outside was in the 80's. The wave pool activates every 10 minutes. It was a bit crowded, but not too bad for a Saturday. read more

Utter fiasco. Fun rides for the kids but the place is so overrun and poorly managed that we had an awful experience and left with our son worn out and in tears. Took an hour to get in, even though we already had passes. Nearly one hour wait in line for one raft ride. The ride was fun, the wait not so much. We had to get a refund on our food order after a fruitless 45 min wait. Our electronic locker got jammed and our things were stuck inside. $165 dollars and 5 hours later, we literally experienced only 3 rides. read more

Sure this place was crowded when we got there. Sure the lines were pretty long to get food. Also the chlorine on a scale of 1 - 10 as 10 being the strongest level... it was 100. But we still had a good time. Seriously my eyes felt like they were going to jump out of their sockets because of toooo much chlorine in the water BUT we all know WHY they do that. Imagine if all 300 + people decided to take a piss in the pool all at once. You do realize how awful that would be right? But in reality we ALL know everyone does it! To be succinct, I'm just not a fan. Indoor swimming pools usually give me a bad headache, but the intense headache and nausea I feel here has so far been unrivaled. 84 degrees year round? Let's try closer to 98 degrees. Once you add in all those hyperactive kids with their insanely high metabolisms packed into the small space, the heat problem gets really out of control. They do offer alcohol for the adult crowd, but I don't see how anyone could get through a drink without upchucking. Even in the winter this place is always crowded. I wouldn't really suggest going in winter, and not just because swimming doesn't sound appealing in the winter. When the outdoor section is closed off, indoors it's slim pickings for attractions. This really is quite a small water park. As far as cleanliness is concerned, it certainly could be worse. However, I feel like the water is always a bit dingy here. You will need a shower ASAP after leaving. If you're really hard up for entertainment, then you could always come here with small kids and they'll have a blast. That being said, there's far better water parks out there to choose from. read more

I wish I could give this establishment zero stars. To start, the strong smell of chlorine wafts a burning sensation into both your eyes and nostrils. The ventilation consists of these slow moving fans that do nothing to circulate the overwhelming odor of chlorine. Next off, I want to talk about the cleanliness of the park. In the patio area, there is a ride where u go down a slide on foam matts. They looked as though they had never been washed due to the massive black stains on all of them. During my visit, I went with a few friends and when we ventured on the lazy river, one of them found a bloody bandaid carelessly floating around. One of the major issues that I discovered was that there were few too little rides and way too many people as well as the rides being under staffed. Of those who were available I found that some of them were very rude and impolite. For example, one of the lifeguards manning the big slide with the rafts harassed my friend on his sexual orientation and then proceeded to cuss out him out multiple times. Next lets talk food; I ordered chicken tenders, a pretzel dog and a water with a side of french fries. The only part of the meal that was actually delicious was the water and that is saying a lot. For 21 dollars, the meal was not worth it at all. The pretzel dog looked cooked on the outside but when I sat down to eat, it was stone cold and even worse the pretzel part was raw. Thats right, it was raw and doughy and it was clearly microwaved (below in the picture is the raw dough). The part of my meal that broke the camels back was the long black hair I found nestled in my french fries.
