Horrible experience solely due to the arrogant, insulting, disrespectful, condescending, and frankly illogically stupid "head of security" under Britney Teagues or Britney T. First off there are not nearly enough bathrooms, especially in the adult bar section. Second, when we asked for one, we were told to go out the glass doors. When we tried coming back in a security guard magically appeared saying we had to go back around to the front even though there was no signage saying we had to and despite the actual waterpark staff telling us to use that bathroom. When we asked for the manager that's when Britney T showed up. Incredibly rude, absolutely abysmal customer service by Britney the head of security. She showed up with aggressive attitude, escalating instead of calming the situation, telling, telling us we lacked common sense. She said she wasn't responsible for us not seeing the sign until we left (what the fuck, her logic is room temp iq levels) and that's the way it was. She made my girlfriend feel u safe and forced her to go around to the entrance again. She even said some ridiculous crazy hyperbole about how we might have razor blades in bathing suits, so we were a security risk that necessitated us to go back around. Truly horrible experience due solely to arbitrary, violent, rude worst staff on the planet. We went on a rainy Sunday and expected it to be crowded, but we seriously underestimated just how packed it would get. We arrived right when the park opened at noon and were lucky enough to find a spot to put our things and let the kids eat. For about the first hour, we had a good time, but after that the park became overwhelmingly crowded. We got in line for the tube slides and waited about 40 minutes. During that time, we noticed there were long lines for absolutely everything the body slides, the lazy river, and even just getting tubes for the tube slides. Some of the delays seemed to come from a lack of organization, but honestly the biggest issue was simply overcrowding. By the time we got off the ride, it was difficult to even move across the park. People were leaving their belongings everywhere, and the water in the main pool which seemed to be the only pool for everyone had even changed color from how crowded and overused it was. What was most surprising was that even as the park became nearly impossible to navigate, people were still continuing to come in. I had a blast here!! This was our 1st time visiting. We traveled over 2 hours to get here and I don't regret it. We came on Good Friday. I had the bright idea that it would be empty, but sadly it was the opposite. I should've known better considering it's during Spring Break for some. Nonetheless I didn't mind the wait, it's no different than any other waterpark. The food was definitely overpriced but I also understand that AC doesn't get much traction outside of their peak seasons. I enjoyed myself at this water park!It has a gr8 variety of water slides so there's plenty to keep you entertained only if you're a big kid like me. I've been to places like Great Wolf, American Dream, Kalahari, and Camelbeach, so I was honestly surprised at how small Island Waterpark felt , especially because it looks so big from the outside. I will say though, it's pretty inside. The waterfall when you first walk in gives it a nice vibe. The place was clean and my kids had fun on the slides, so that's a plus. The swim up bar is spacious, which I liked. And their drinks were good. Especially the chili mango one. As an adult I was kind of bored. I was really hoping for a hot tub or a wave pool, and it was disappointing that they didn't have either. At least the lazy river was 3ft deep, I've been to shallower ones that scraped my knee. The food and drinks were definitely overpriced. Also, it felt colder than expected, which took away from the experience a bit. We stayed at Showboat and checked out their Island Waterpark--definitely a fun family add-on! The lazy river and water slides were our favorites. Wholesome family fun for sure, though honestly, one day here is plenty (three days felt like overkill). We also tried the FlowRider, which simulates a giant wave you can ride. Signing a waiver made sense, and while the lines were long, nobody was rushed during their turn. Big shoutout to the attendant who walked us through it step by step--such a neat experience. My only complaint: at the adults-only pool, I ordered a frozen Frappuccino drink from the swim-up bar after seeing it on a big ad, but the bartender said they don't serve it there. If that's the case, please take the ad down--it's misleading. All in all, great family memories, solid service, and a cool mix of attractions. We have been to Island Waterpark twice- once shortly after it opened summer 2023 and August 2025. The waterpark is open all year round and is indoor/outdoor. The ceiling opens up or closes depending on the weather. The park is good for all ages - toddlers through adults. They have a little kiddie slide and 3 ft pool. There is a lazy river which is good for the entire family. Then they have slides of various heights. The BIG slide is has a minimum height requirement (it's 42 inches) and maximum weight of 300 lbs. The park is kept rather clean. Lifeguard staff are very alert and have great communication to ensure everyone remains safe. If you plan ahead, you can get tickets for the waterpark slightly cheaper on Groupon, but you have to purchase more than 1 day before going. If you purchase your tickets through the hotel, you get free parking, so that's a plus. The food is extremely expensive. We make sure to have a good breakfast/lunch before entering the park then we will share a snack of chicken tenders and fries to hold us over and grab dinner outside the park afterwards. Oh man, what positive things can I say about this place? It was the utmost terrible place to visit for an indoor water park. The casino that they look over was already run down and I'm not sure if they even renovated the casino itself besides building the water park area. There was an enormous amount of people to the point where to get from one side of the water park to the other it took about 10 minutes from just the amount of foot traffic walking around. The pool that they had was extremely small and with so many people everyone just stood in their spot in the pool because you couldn't get anywhere. If you consider going to island water park...go somewhere else. So I went back and forth of wanting to give this establishment 4 or 3 stars and I settled for 3 stars since my cons list was slightly lengthier. Let's start with what made this a great experience for my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. Pros: They had a small, small kids area. It included just one slide for them and the kids pool but my little one still had a blast on that slide a million times! The facility was clean and roomy as there wasn't a lot of people there for that weekend. The adults only area with a swim up bar truly felt like a vacation location. Discount tickets including parking it's the best way to go to save money. Lifeguards are focused and abundant. Cons: Parking is challenging and not straight forward. The check in location from the parking garage is not intuitive as the signs are misleading. The experience was also self serve for the most part from the parking to the lockers which is bothersome as no one besides lifeguards or the front desk was around to answer questions. What a waste of a trip. This would have been fine for some teenagers, but for my grade school added kids it sucked. There's one sad slide for the young kids and that's about it. This is a decent waterpark. It has a flow rider, wave pool, a tot spot, slides and lazy river. I like the layout. Food is pretty decent too. Pizza, salads, giant pretzel, chicken fingers etc. If you are coming with more than 4 I suggest renting the cabana. There are a variety of picnic type tables along with square top. But space is limited. I do not like the check in location then having to walk about 2-3mins to enter the park. They will search bags. There are daily lockers. The changing areas lack space. Paid $59/pp for the day plus parking. Was here for about 2-3hrs. Adults and kids wear different colored bands. I will say though, people need to have better manners in the lazy River. My family and I had an absolute great time at this waterpark. We went on a Friday as soon as they opened and there were no wait times. Our kids went on all the slides multiple times with no wait. My husband and I were also pleasantly surprised when we were told that the adult area was included with the regular admission. We got to enjoy the swim up bar, and the bartender there was super nice. Make sure to ask if there are any drink specials available, on this day they had a bucket special of 5/$25. The park was clean and well kept, even the bathroom. I'm a huge fan of waterparks and this one doesn't disappoint. We paid for VIP access to the "adults only" bar area which was nice because we wouldn't have had access to chairs otherwise. The cocktails back there are pricey but good. Lazy river is nice and long. Slides are all awesome but my tube did get stuck in one, I forget which, and I had to be rescued. Embarrassing. There's a good selection of food, mostly pizza /chicken/hot dogs for when you get hungry. It's not 5-star cuisine but satisfying when you've been swimming. read more

Let's start with the fact that they don't have a chaperone fee I had to pay $90 to sit and watch my kids play, which is ABSURD!! We had 3 children under 4 and there really aren't that many things for little kids to do other than the lazy river or the pool or just run around and get the bucket poured on you. Which is fine - but it is a lot of $ to do that. Beyond that we were there for 2 days - on Saturday it was lovely. On Sunday it was CHAOS. it literally was so many people and I actually worried about fire hazards. My own mom waited in a line for 50 minutes to get ice cream. No joking. I think it's outrageous to ban outside food and only have one food stand open. The line is so long to even just get a soda/water. Don't try to smuggle in any food/drinks, the bag search was like TSA. This was the worst waterpark I'd ever been to. I took my son and his friends there to celebrate his 9th birthday, we had a terrible experience. The water was freezing and when we mentioned it to the staff we were told there is nothing they could do. The children were shivering and of two of them lips were turning blue. The overall temperature in the waterpark was breezy not 80 degrees as advertised. Everyone was kicked out of the water every 10 by the staff, none of the attractions were working so they were subjected to the lazy river only and as I previously stated they had to get out every 10 mins. They claim to have had a "power outage" which should have been communicated at the time of admission because I would have saved my $702.72 that I pad for admission. This review is based on my two visits. The first visit is when they first opened. The space is limited to the point where I am unsure why they built a water park so small but yet it holds a capacity of 3200ish. When it's near its full capacity it is gross!!!! It felt like I paid to go into a public park. GHETTO Like I knew my kid had to be swimming in pee. The "pool" section is the tiniest pool that you can ever have in a water park and was over populated. The WATER was NOT clear and was EXTREMELY CLOUDY. I called my child out as soon as I walked over to check on where she begged me to go. (She remembers it being empty on our first visit) I'm not sure if the creators didn't think that the water park would get so much traction but it's clear that a lot was not thought through. This may be their down fall They must be paying the inspector a pretty penny how this plan stays open after my second visit. The bathrooms to change were GROSSSSSSSSS. You had to be stepping in dripped water on the floor and piss. They were only about 4 shower stalls, five restrooms on the woman's side and no rinse station. Remember I said its capacity is for 3200ish. I would never go back. They should consider lowering the price because you are NOT getting what you paid for. ONE bartender at each bar. They did their best! If you came to spectate, this place was not created with you in mind. You would not find a seat so you'll be standing. I was quite happy with my experience at the Island water park on 10/18. Parking was a bit of a pain/unintuitive but the park itself was pretty well worth my dollar. The site says that there are 11 water slides but the number is really more like 4, as they count 5-6 of them that are all in the kids area that are all pretty demure. Not allowing outside food or drinks is a bit of a killer since the only beverages or food in the park are pretty gouged, but that's to be expected. I thought the flow rider attraction was quite fun. Definitely something I'd want to try again. Good place to spend a day if you have younger children! Lazy river is also pretty nice too. read more

There are tons of slides with not long waits. The biggest line was only 20 minutes and there are 3 huge tube slides, 2 long racing slides, a pool, a decent sized lazy river, a small kids area, and an area with a bunch of intense slides. I received an off brand that was only disclosed because i asked what was used once i tasted it. They were nice enough to refund me when i declined the drink that cost me $20 after tip.
