Zero stars is more fitting. The length of the time we waited on the line to get in was longer than our actual stay at the park. Had three children (2 - 5 year olds and 1 - 1 year old) and the older ones were pretty much over the place about an hour in. Over crowded beyond words. I've actually never seen this many people at one place at one time. Can compare to the amount of people at Times Square during New Years Eve. Not sure how this is even safe. Long lines for every single thing you wanted to do including locker access, changing area, etc. Not impressed by the baby pool - which has two mini slides that also had long lines. The other pool had basketball hoops and the (not soft) balls were flying everywhere - hitting people left to right. Surprised no one got a concussion. We only stayed in these two areas because the thought of having to get to other areas and through the crowd was beyond painful. The Life guards are just whistling about every single second so not sure how effective their watch is. How do they even watch this many people at one time? Needless to say we will never be back here again. Bad experience all around. Disappointed I actually had to pay for my family to be tortured at this facility. Sahara Sam's really needs to limit the amount of visitors. Just because the entire state of New York and New Jersey wants to visit on a rainy day - doesn't mean you should let every single person in just to make the money. If I could give it no stars I would. We are still in a pandemic... except for Sahara sams. Sahara sams unlike the rest of the world is living a normal life. I've been to Sahara sams pre covid and it was never as crowded and gross as it was today. It's completely over crowded and there are no rules or regulations in place for a smooth and effective experience. There are people allowing their small children to run around unsupervised, there are adults in the kiddy pool (without children) taking away from the experience for the children. The facility was extremely dirty. Spilled drinks all over the floor, unattended areas where life guards should be, no one enforcing any rules for safety. I expected the grotto to be a warm hot tub... the grotto is a cold narrow pool that I could have skipped, I could have skipped the entire experience. My son enjoyed himself because he's a child but we won't be returning. read more

Facilities are pretty outdated and old, and overall the selection is extremely slim. Everything is just run down and old. For $40 per person, a family of 3-4 are way better off with Great wolf lodge. We only ended up here because PA mandated quarantine and we could not go to GWL. The worst part was the food in the fast food hall. It was deserted with only one other guest waiting for food and it took them 25 minutes to prepare couple of hotdogs and fries. The first hotdog was undercooked and we waited another 10 minutes for a replacement. The second was frozen! Literally frozen! I had a terrible bite of a frozen hotdog FML. They were nice enough to comp this hotdog and give us a $10 card for the arcade, but this was just the worst. The level of chlorine in the water is off the charts. My son's underwear were blue, as seen on top, but turned gray after a visit to sahara sam's. I don't want to even think what it does to our bodies. I do not recommend going there. I took my children here on a Thursday at 10:30am! After reading the reviews I was definitely worried but had already spent the money on tickets. I will say reading so many negative reviews lowered my expectations but my kids had a great time and I saw it for what it was- an indoor water park for kids. It wasn't meant for me as an adult. I rented an indoor cabana to keep our stuff together and have a place to sit a little away from others and it definitely made our experience better. We went relatively early so it wasn't super crowded. There is both the indoor and outdoor space so there seemed to be enough space to not feel crowded or right on top of one another. My kids (4 and 9) loved both inside and outside water parks. For outside I'd just say to remember to take your sunglasses- I didn't anticipate it to be that sunny out there. We didn't eat there simply because I fed my children on the way over and they weren't hungry. But because your day passes allow you to leave and come back, you could easily visit a fast food place and come back. I have to begin by informing you that we arrived here at 10:15am on a Saturday for a 10 yr olds birthday party. We all had a good time, both kids and adults. We stayed until 2:30 pm. The indoor water park was fun. They have about three different slides (for both kids and adults), a large play area for the kids and a flow-rider. At that time the lines were pretty much non existent. My favorite was the family fun water slide that allows 4 people to go down at once. Oh yeah, and there is a new addition since that last time we came. A BAR! They finally realized that they need to please the parents as well. There is a bar inside and outside. They serve everything from frozen piña coladas, Miami Vices, to your traditional alcoholic beverages. What a nice addition! The outside has three different pool areas (a wave pool, a regular pool (that has two basketball nets), and a kiddie pool that has different obstacles for kids to walk through. There also have cabanas and a volleyball net. There is plenty of seating outside as well. The food is a little expensive. $3.75 for a bottle of water! But they \ do have water fountains for free. The food is pretty good. If you dont want to pay the inflated prices there are plenty inexpensive restaurants in the area. I forgot to mention that there is a Chuck-E-Cheese like game room here as well. We had a good time but I did notice that it was starting to get pretty crowded when we were leaving. So I would recommend going early on the weekend (around 10 a.m). The staff was friendly and efficient. I really believe that they deserve a 3.5 rating though because of the prices for food. Another note: they do not have changing tables in every bathroom! Which made me deduct half a star. read more

Came here for my nieces birthday with my son and would probably come back. There were good parts and bad so here goes...starting with the good: This place is great for my 16 month old son. There's a mini pool inside that had a slide and swings. He LOVED the slide. The best part was that the life vest they provided protected his head from hitting the slide when falling down. It was like an attached pillow! Whomever invented that life vest was a genious. There's also a fountain play area for the little ones outside. The waffle icecream sandwich was amazing. Mmmm! The ice cream was hard and not melted and it was neopolitan flavored! The food was also fairly decent as well. I was kinda surprised considering normally food at places like this are horrid. Also, the place looked pretty clean to me. Water wasn't merky, but it did have a very high level of chlorine. Now the bad: I know they have security check points for a reason, but the person checking my bags saw I was holding a sippy cup of milk and wanted to take it away from me! Hello...obviously, it's for my son. I'm not trying to hide anything from you. Also, they wouldn't allow my son to go on the family tube ride. I don't understand why? Sesame place allows it. I'm not holding him in my arms. He can sit and stand and walk on his own. Another bad was that I had to search for a diaper changing table. Not every bathroom has one, which is a serious downfall in my books. You are a kid zone. Every bathroom (including the men's) should have one. The lifeguards have ZERO personality. They walk around clearly looking like they have attitudes. I clearly understand that their focus is on safety and they have a wonderful system put in place which is quite comforting. But....geeze...Only about 2 of them in our 8 hour stay cracked a smile. They barely even speak and if they do, you better know how to lip read because the inside is quite noisy with all the water flowing which makes it very hard to hear. I booked a birthday part for my 8 year old daughter. We got the second to the least expensive package and we stayed indoors the entire time as the outdoor section was closed for the season. This place is a small water park with a lazy river, tube slides, a water spray station, etc. there is also a medium size arcade and party areas. The bonus is that there is a DJ, a cash bar with TV's, seating areas for adults and adult's only Jacuzzi tub. So if you ever been to a bounce party where you just stand there watching the kids have all the fun then you can really appreciate these amenities. There are many good things to say about this place: It was extremely clean. No long lines at all. Friendly staff Something for all ages from infants to adults The 10 kids at the party had a real blast. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They spent the majority of the time on the lazy river and the water slides and shooting each other with water on the large water jungle gym. Beware, the food is rather pricey and they do not allow any outside food to be brought in. Drinks at the bar are also pricey. The party package is great but for food and drink it's insufficient. Each child was served one slice of pizza and nowadays that just does not cut it. Extra pizza was an add-on $$ (I just wanted each child to have 2 slices of pizza). Extra juice was an add-on $$ (I just wanted each child to have more than a small cup of juice). I thought these things should have been included in the package price. The party room was nice. We did bring our own cake and balloons. One of my biggest gripes about the place is the security of your stuff when attending a party. The blue bins where you put your gifts and clothes are in the open where anyone can walk away with your stuff are a bit worrisome. I found myself with one eye on the bin the entire time. Of course I could have rented a locker for $27 after which I would get $20 deposit returned. $7 for locker rental for a couple hours seemed a bit much. And that would be after putting another $20 deposit for the party transponder that alerts us when our party room was available (like the ones you get at restaurants when there is a long wait). So with that and the $3.75 bottled water you can imagine why I feel like the place tends to nickel and dime you to death. Overall I give this place a 3 1/2 star rating because the fun that ALL the children had at the party really outweighs the negative feelings caused by the add-on costs. If I could give this place zero stars I would! Do Not I repeat Do Not plan a party here. I spent close to $600 here and my child's party was a disaster. We arrived 15 min prior to ensure enough time for check in the young lady at the front rushed me through the process and told me my "Party Host" would be back shortly. They walk us to the room and practically left us on our own for close to 30min. I went back to the front desk inquiring about the food and drinks we ordered and was told someone who be with me. I went back to my room and after an additional 10-15min a random person came in with food and drinks. I asked him when we would get the wristbands so the children can play he said he'd check on it and let me know. I walk back to the front desk because at this time we've been in the room for 45min and no one knew what was going on. I explain yet again that we have no party host and none of the things I originally paid for. We finally get the wristbands and the kids are off to play and the previous young man comes in demanding we clear the room out. We went there this past weekend and, overall, had a good time. We arrived around 11:30 and didn't wait very long in line, but I can see how the dysfunctional line cues could get chaotic during busier times. The outdoor part is not open until the end of May, and I am wondering if the cost of tickets goes up or stays the same when that happens. The slides are fun and the kids area (water jungle gym, Lilly pads, etc) looked well managed. The entrance/exit was hectic because you have people trying to enter and grab a tube and exit the ride all in the same place. PLUS there was a shortage of inner tubes for the nearby slide, so a mob of people were wading through the lazy river trying to grab a tube to take over to the slide. I felt bad for the one worker they had there trying to maintain order. The one line for the family tube water slide is long. Also, there are 3 lines within one, which caused problems. For example, the sign going up the stairs said to stay to the right if you wanted to go on the tube slide or the one where you lay on your back. And another sign said stay left for the family tube ride. One time, we were trying to go on the lay down slide so got in the right side (like the sign said). We waited on line like 20 mins, got to the front, only to be told by the worker that if we wanted that slide we had to be in the left line... ummm no... that's not what the sign said, but at that point we were pretty much over the park anyway so left after that. The surfing wave ride is a lot of fun, but be prepared to wait in line a while. They were giving people a million chances to try to ride the wave. The chemical smell is overwhelming. I noticed at first it smelled like stinky feet, in all honestly, when we first walked in, but the chemicals did irritate my eyes, gave me a headache, and made it hard to breathe. This was especially bad in the room with the indoor free swim pool. When we finally left I couldn't wait to get a breath of fresh air outside... literally! Also, the hot tub is not hot at all. It is lukewarm at best and only slightly warmer than the pool water. I would be curious to go back when the outdoor part is open just to see how that is. read more

Took my family (party of 6 - kids aged 16,10,9, & 30 months) for the day (July 3rd, a Sunday). If you are uncomfortable in a diversely ethnic and racial environment than this place isn't for you. We have a blended family (Caucasian and Latino) and are from Brooklyn, Queens, and the Lower East Side & Harlem. We felt as if we were in our normal elements around the way and not 2 hours away from home in an otherwise non-descript South West Jersey town. Contrary to some who use the word ghetto to represent the clientele here, it's simply not the case. Again, it's ethnically and racially diverse- mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends - all trying to have the best time they could during their time off from work! I felt that there was plenty of parental supervision, I noticed only seniors/elderly family members sitting off on the sides and most parents/guardians aged from 18 to 60 were actively waking around and/or with their children in the water environment. Paid $25 (due to googling "Sahara Sam promo code") per ticket and felt this was a very fair price for the amenities offered. Took a star away because there needs be better instruction at the front door advising what needs to be done if you are either a 1)season ticket holder, 2) walk up purchaser, or 3) online purchaser and what you must do if you have bags with you. Basically you go inside if you already have your tickets with or without bags to convert them to wristbands at the counter. Everyone with bags must go inside for a bag check. Someone outside would have saved about 8 minutes of my families time and probably the time of countless other confused souls. The facility appearing well maintained overall - paint fresh and vivid, not chipping, no rust visible. It was clean. The water appeared clean and hygienic relative to the amount of people present. It gets busy, I would say about 90% capacity, the earlier the better. The ability to use the outdoor facility helps balance the flow between areas. The smell of chlorine is there, I'd say play inside for a bit, go outside get some air, then come back in...remember - your in a normally enclosed area (even tho the roof does open). Staff appeared helpful with flow of smaller children, life guards were attentive to children in water areas - felt safe. Seen many genuine smiles from The staff. Didn't purchase food there - left it in the car and went out to eat it at the car, no food or drinks allowed from the outside inside the facility - which makes sense to protect their business interest - but they let you do as you place in the parking area! Plus, their price list is available as a picture on Yelp - scroll through - and if you don't Like the prices bring sandwiches or go down the Block to McDonalds - otherwise deal with the prices and food quality - it's a water park not a gourmet restaurant! We will go back again as it is a good value for $25 each ticket (use the discount promo codes online)!! The kids loved it. No complaints from them. I am no super excited or am I disgusted. There are a few issues that arose like personal attitude and behavior from some employees.. The rude service at the front counter.. To the kitchen ordering food.. Dude serious how much more do we have to pay to just get a friendly smile? Besides the staff. Some of the rides and the kids section was nice for the kids to enjoy. We all enjoyed a good time. Kids had a blast and had a worry free day. The food was seriously overpriced for nothing special on it or with it. It was cool at first during the winter having something to do when there was nothing to do but as the summer arrived I saw the annual membership price drop dramatically. Also, they started this Halloween celebration outdoors this weekend and told me and other people with memberships from when I joined that we had to pay extra to participate because we did not have NEWER memberships. Their website states something else. I went into circles debating this with the manager who said the direcrive is from Corporate. Plus their bathrooms are always gross. There pros are the convenience of having indoor and outdoor water features. This creates something for kids of all ages to do. Outside was a dedicated area for toddlers. As well as a small area near the wave pool. On the inside was a pool are with slide for toddlers and a play feature with slides and various water activities. In addition there is an arcade for kids a food court and a bar for adults. The space pools as well as the bathrooms were clean. The dj outside was an added plus. The cons are the lack of shade outside. After you place an order for food inside you go outside and stand in line to pick up your order. While I saw retractable awnings above us they're not used. This made waiting in line very uncomfortable. In addition it was hard to hear your receipt number being called while in line outside. After we received our order we headed over to a table which like all the others had no shade. I understand the pool area having no shade but the dining areas should provide a break from the sun. Overall we had a great time. Had there been more shade my rating would be higher. Important to know is that no outside food or drinks are allowed inside. Bags are searched before entering. My son and I had a good time but I don't think I'll be back for a while. We arrived on a Saturday once it opened and it surely did get packed quickly. There were many older kids like teenagers that made the experience a bit uncomfortable since they were playing aggressively in the basketball pool section. A suggestion I'd make is to please limit these sections to a certain amount of people because everyone was bumping into each other and getting hit with a basketball, while hearing the life guards whistle go off every minute. (Very annoying!!) The bar for the adults was pretty cool, although I can tell many parents go there mainly for drinks while they let their kid run off to do whatever they want unsupervised. The food court pizza pie was very cheesy, yummy and filling. We bought the family pack of $33 which included a pie, 4 breadsticks (too salty), and 4 drinks. The place overall was pretty clean, cool arcade area...the majority of games are $1 each, the changing rooms were very big and all staff seemed to be trained very well as they supervised each section attentively. We arrived at 11am and had no wait and got to do plenty of slides and activities before the major crowds came. It was clean but the pool area got foggy as the day went on and was off putting. My only complaint is just the pricing. We got a discounted tickets for 30$ per person, but my 3 year old couldn't do as much as my 5 year old, so I felt it was unfair to pay the same amount per both. If you have the extra cash take you kids to this small water park. The kids had lots of fun. WHEN IT COMES TO THE FOOD LOOKOUT! We ordered chicken fingers, fries and Mozzarella Sticks. It was the worst food i have ever had in my life. The servers were rude, could not speak english and it took 4 people to figure out that they did not know how to give back a refund for mistakes in my order that they made. Even though it was our fault that we got there at 5PM (2 hours before closing) I feel as if on a Saturday they should stay open a little later. I still ended up going on almost all attractions which were pretty much nothing special, nor would this be a place I would end up coming back too....EVER! Moving along to the food.. Super expensive for a taste of jail food.. $70 on a pie of pizza which tasted like cement and a bucket of fries + tenders which tasted as if they were refried 20x during the day in old oil...(giving them a really bitter taste) & on top of it all this place is not sanitary.. The pool was cloudy and the whole place reeked of chlorine + dirt... eeek.. ONLY thing that was good was the bar & decently priced drinks.. Otherwise take your money elsewhere people. The employees at the front desk were great. I rented a cabana which wasn't bad but there was no staff to attend to the cabana. When we tried to order food at 350pm the food counter was closed at 420p. When we was leaving at 5pm the staff wouldn't allow our children to use the bathroom and change their clothing. People were allowed to walk around with no masks. I will never return to this place or recommend anyone. Gina read more

I am in shock that people are actually members here. I will NEVER go back here. Ok, so it's a Saturday, I get that it's crowded. However, they check your bags. I don't think it's for safety, it's just so you don't bring in outside food. There is 1 person at a little table going through the bags. So if you arrive after 12, you will be standing in line with your party ... waiting.. and waiting. The area is not big so yes, you will be standing outside in the freezing cold. From start to finish, the employees have ZERO sense of urgency. I purchased my tickets online but that's pointless because you still have to wait in line behind people who are still purchasing their tickets to get a wristband. Granted, no one tells you this and there are no signs posted, so I waited in line to get in, I show my e-Ticket and it's at that time I'm told I have to go through the ticket desk to get a wristband. Back in line I go. I purchased online because I was afraid of the limited ticket sales per day like the other indoor water parks do... nope! I swear, this place has no maximum capacity , it was uncomfortably crowded. $15 for a large locker. That "large" locker fit my coat and a bag with 2 towels so if you have a family of 5, good luck. You will spend your paycheck on the locker fees. And it's winter so duh, you have a coat on, especially since you will be waiting outside to have your bag checked! I really would have no problem spending money if the experience was worth it, but it's not. Once we got into our suits , another wait for a changing room, the kids were having a blast, so moving on, deep breaths and enjoy watching them having a blast.. nope, large fight between drunk adults. Security, and by security, I mean 4 teenagers, trying to break up the fist fight of grown men. I had to move in and grab my 6 yr old boys out of the way! That was it for me, because like I said, the bag check was for food, not for safety. I got my kids out of there in fear there was going to be a shooting. Aside from the lines and crowds, the kids had a blast but I would not take the chance of going here again based on that fight. There is no reason for that. So, the place is run horribly and the crowd is even worse. Joey had his 5th Birthday celebration here & he loved it. While my guest and I were busy having fun in the water park, the employee's set up the cake and favors in the party room. They served everyone pizza and cleaned up also. Very well organized birthday party. Not a huge place, but construction was going on to add an outdoor area. I don't like that they have a bar and serve alcohol. read more
