Absolutely awful! It took at least twenty minutes to just get my order in, and another ten to finally get my hookah. The staff was unfriendly and inattentive. This is our late night hangout after a night of drinking. I was really surprised by a review indicating that the service was bad - they've been phenomenal every time we've been. I like the lamb sandwiches, the desserts and the coffee...just delicious. I'm not a huge hookah fan but I enjoy sitting outside on a warm summer night and having some strawberry mint hookah...feels like I'm in a different country! Parking is an issue though because only street parking is available. read more

I used to go here all the time in 2014 until this girl that worked there told me I wasn't allowed to make out with the girl I was on a date with. It was "inappropriate" for the atmosphere. I was embarrassed. Looking back I should have just talked to the manager and complained but the other staff members knew me and were kind. Or I should have asked her if she was jealous lol. That homophobic interruption though made me never go there again. Never going back to this hookah bar. I have never had such an upsetting customer service experience. The hookah was stale, and it was way too harsh. For the steep price, it hurt was too much to smoke. That wasn't the worst part. I ordered a lemon mint smoothie, not thinking it was going to be literally mint leaves blended up. (That was probably my fault). I walked up to the counter and kindly asked the woman if she could make me a different one, or to take it off the bill, and she told me that the manager doesn't support re-making drinks if the customer doesn't like them. Only if there is something wrong with them. Of all my years, I have never been to any restaurant/cafe/anything that has had a policy like that. So ridiculous. I have been going to Sahara regularly for almost a year now. The prices are some of the most affordable and I always loved the atmosphere, the decor is beautiful and it always had such a warm and inviting feeling to it. HAD being the key word here. Last night my boyfriend and a couple friends decided to kill a few hours with a hookah and some tea. The hookah was delicious as always, and so was the tea, however learning that they charge per CUP with a POT of tea made it considerably less delicious. Yeah.. .that's right.. .basically you can go in ALONE and order some Moroccan tea and they'll bring you a cup and a pot for $3. If you want to share tea with a friend they charge you an extra $3 FOR A F***ING CUP! Not for another pot of tea, BUT FOR THE DAMN CUP! I could understand charging for another pot. Like "Oh, well since you're paying another $3 we'll just bring you another pot once you finish this one." But no, you get one pot and have to pay just for another cup. Can we say money grubbing? Next, after a good 45 minutes our coal was cashed, no big deal... that's pretty typical. What is NOT typical is having to wait another 45 minutes for someone to bring another coal! That's right, we sat there with a cooling hookah and no smoke for 45 minutes even AFTER one of the employees came over, check the coal and said they would bring us another one. I MIGHT be able to understand the wait if they were busy, but there were MAYBE 7 tables with people in the entire place. One of our friends was late, and sat there for a half hour before anyone even bothered to ask if he wanted anything, though our waitress had walked past us at least 5 times. Clearly able to see that there was a new person at the table. The last straw was when we went to pay. We agreed to split the hookah and we would pay for our individual tea cups. I put the hookah and my tea on my debit card, and my friend went to pay for her tea on her card. Apparently Sahara has a $7 card limit, not normally a problem except NOWHERE in the establishment does it say that, not even on the menu. The waitress became extremely rude, going as far as to yell the total at my friend and THROW her receipt at her. I have NEVER had service this terrible, at a hookah bar, regular bar or anywhere in between. If you want to be money grubbing that's your thing, if your employees are slow... it pisses me off... but whatever. But to YELL at a customer and throw something at them? No. Just no. I will never set foot in this place again. I've given a rating of two stars based on the fact that yes, the place is beautiful. The prices are good, as is the hookah and food. However, service has gone downhill drastically. Don't expect to get treated like a customer, expect to get treated like a nuisance. The service here was horrible. They continued to leave us waiting for way too long for simple things such as changing the coals on our hookah. It took nearly half and hour before we got our hookah. This is the best hookah spot in town. The atmosphere is warm and authentic and their hookahs are by far the most robust. Its a good way to spend a relaxing evening with friends or alone with a good book. The staff is pretty sexy too! read more

Anytime I can afford to treat myself, I do it here. I LOVE the Arabic music (even though I don't know Arabic) and the adultish atmosphere and my favorite Hookah flavor is Nefertiti. Kinda expensive but atmosphere is kinda worth it. And be aware that parking is on the street. read more

I am not a fan of sahara. One of the biggest downfalls is the size of the place. It is way too small in there. The tables are real close together and if it is crowded in there dont even bother waiting to get a seat. Another thing that dissatisfied me was the employees. They are not as friendly as some of the other places. Also, when they are busy they have a hard time servicing. They are slow on getting a new coal and taking orders. They do not tend to their customers as well as Midnigt. I did not feel welcomed there and it was not a very good hookah experiene. One more thing about sahara is the prices. They are over priced for the quality of the services they provide. Overall Sahara does not do it for me. Was not a satisfied customer there. read more

Very nice place. I went there for the first time two years ago and now I am a regular. The seating and the Egyptian atmosphere there is truly spectacular. Quick friendly service and real nice hookahs. If you were not sure about which hookah to order you will get very good recommendations from the servers. There are a handful of Middle Eastern sandwiches and appetizers that you can have on the side. My favorites are the Hummus and Feta cheese plates that come with pitta bread. Would definitely recommend for either a casual quiet hangout in the afternoon or a late hangout on the weekend nights.. read more
