Sahil is the WORST. Their customer service and attitudes are just deplorable. They expect the utmost from their customers, yet do not hold themselves to any standard. I have spent thousands of dollars at Sahil over the past few years and have finally had it. I took blouses there to be altered - I came back 2 weeks later (after they were promised to be ready) and they hadn't been touched. They did a shoddy job altering them, and when I pointed out how they didn't fit right, they said it was a problem with my body. When I asked for compensation for my troubles, they brought in the tailor and said any discount would come straight out of his pocket. I am Indian and know a lot about Indian fashion. Even though Sahil seems like really nice store, there are many other places on Devon that have similar items, much better prices and much better people. Regal and Studio Elite are just a couple options - You're better off walking into a random store off Devon than shopping at Sahil. read more

This is the nicest looking Indian clothing storefront, with the widest selection of Indian men's suits in the Midwest. But the thing is, the way they keep the stock bagged, hidden, and only shown one by one per customer by the staff, you're really not going to be able to see all they have to offer. It's inexplicable. They refuse to Americanize and have all their clothes out, marked with real prices, for shoppers to browse through, but the labor intensive and unfriendly way they show you clothes, piece by piece, one by one, is not really the traditional Indian way to sell clothes either. Yes, back in South Asia, we haggle and chit chat, and shopping isn't rush rush in out like Walmart. But the process is friendly, neighborly, community building, and here, they're just being pushy and I feel like they're not making any kind of real connection to me. I've bought a couple of suits here, but never been completely happy with the sizing, or pricing, I ended up buying when I got exhausted of making them pull out suits one by one for me to see and try on, and discussing price ("I will make a good price for you..." but that's not what I felt I ended up paying, even though I haggled down 50% from the original tag). Since 9/11/01, I wear more Western clothing than Indian (shame, isn't it? But there's no sense getting beaten up just for wearing traditional clothing), but when I do buy Indian, it's much easier, less expensive, less exhausting, and almost faster to buy online (on the 'net, try e-bay India). read more

If there were an option to give it less than 1 star, I would have ! This place sucks big time. There was no variety and same stale designs that I saw 2 yrs ago while I shopped for my friend's wedding. I don't mind pricey but dresses weren't worth it at all. At top of it, their concept of customer service completely baffled me. I came from Phoenix to Chicago impressed by their website and hoping to be blown away after seeing all those prepped models. I was so disappointed by their attitude. The girl at the counter politely rejected my request to try the lehenga because their lehengas are so special and they allow it only for serious customers. I cannot put my amazement in words. How do they expect to convert a potential client into a real client until the person actually wears the dress !! Their website can only do so much to draw a client but then its upto the quality of property and customer service. I left the store right after that not just because of obnoxious attitude but lack of any good , striking quality and I ended up at Elite Studio across the street. In the end I am so thankful to them because it led me to wonderdul Elite studios. A great little Indian clothes boutique. They have very nice clothes here, all elegant and sophiticated looking. The sales people here are great, they will help you choose the perfect outfit for you. They also have lots of accessories to match the outfits available at this store. I loved this store's designs, they were well staffed and, there is a pretty incredible selection of clothes and sizes for men and women. I don't know about some of the previous visitors but they seemed concerned enough about their level of service. From day one we were greeted warmly and helped through the process of buying several outfits, including some custom pieces. Amrita was a great help with my parents as well, helping us decide on their first Indian garments. After reading all the negative reviews, I visited Sahil last on Devon street. To much surprise their service was outstanding! Everyone who helped were so patient, friendly, and helpful. Within 1 hour, I had tried on 5 Lehenga outfits, selected one, and even got the alterations done! Mr Patel really helped me out on the price and getting my alterations done same visit. I will definitely visit again. While they are pricey, they have the best selection compared to the other stores I visited. And you pay for convenience, even though these dresses are not cheap in India either. read more

Overall, great experience. My wife and I could'nt be happier. Bhavesh and Mr. Patel are amazing. Honest, geniune people that are rare in the clothing market on Devon. With 2 weeks to our wedding and after a horrible experience at another store (on Devon) these gentlemen started from scratch and created a beautiful set for my wife and I. My wife is not of Asian decent, and this experience with Saahil was great for her. To her the items were not "over-priced" as in such they were failry priced for the quality of the clothing. Over priced and terrible customer service. We tried ordering an item and when asked how long it would take, they didn't give us a straight answer. When asked to speak with the owner, he refused to talk on the phone and was told by the staff that he was.not available. We ended up canceling our order and went to chandni. We were there on the August 6th, 2016 to buy Kurta pajama for our 12 year old son. Our expireance was very good. Though I live quite close to Chicago, but I do not shop at Devon, just because parking, traffic and customer service are not good. Geeta Aunty went above and beyond to help me find a sari for my brother's wedding! I am wary to try anything but my normal blah colors, and for this wedding, I was shopping for something tomato red. My expectations weren't high, but Geeta Aunty pulled out sari after sari, in tomato reds, completely listening to what I was saying, and working within my comfort zones! She really understood the elegantly subdued look I was trying to go for, despite the loud color I working with. They also gave me a great discount, shipped the perfectly stitched blouse to my house a week later, and hemmed the sari to perfection, within minutes, while we were waiting in the store to pay! Went shopping on Devon ave for outfits for a wedding as a bridesmaid. Sunita was sooo helpful and patient! Unlike many of the other stores on Devon Ave, who gave me attitude and tried to force me to buy. Sunita took her time and never got mad when I changed my mind. She even worked me on the prices! And I didn't feel forced to up my price range or buy anything. Also sahil has an amazing collection and their quality is way above other stores on Devon. Sahil is my one place to go now! UPDATE Went in to Sahil my second time today and Gita Aunty was the most patient and helpful person this morning! The saree's are kept very neatly and organized. There was no extra pressure from her. And when I was indecisive she kept it real with me! I couldn't be any happier with my engagement saree.. I feel so at ease now that I know where I will be doing my wedding shopping. After going crazzzy in the shops on devon i finally found a place where it was possible to shop!!i needed to buy a gift for my wife and this was the perfect place. With the limited knowledge that i had on indian clothes, the experienced and knowledgeable sales staff helped me pick out an absolutely beautiful saree at a great price! They even helped me pick out perfectly matching jewellery and a bag to go with it. I must say that this place may be a bit more expensive than the other shops on devon, but after seeing the quality,latest designs and the service you cant complain.I was actually surprised to see a lot of outfits at very reasonable prices too. Based upon the exterior appearance and interior finishes, I approached Sahil for a Sherwani for my upcoming wedding. The salespeople were incredibly pushy and inattentive. They simply ignored my requests and tried to get me to buy anything/everything, but never what I was looking for. Not to mention, their prices are 50% to 100% higher than you can find elsewhere. When I was in there, I heard them arguing with another customer whose lehenga choli their inhouse tailor had apparently butchered. They refused to refund her money (or even give store credit). What a racket. Considering how rude they were with this customer and her family, I warn you to stay FAR away from Sahil. I had a very bad customer service experience with the owner. She was very rude, unhelpful, and insulting. She insinuated that I wouldn't fit into some of their outfits, and that I wouldn't be able to afford some of the outfits. I had tried on a lengha for not even 2 minutes before the owner asked me to change out of the outfit before i left sweat stains. I was upset and insulted and will never shop there again. I bought an outfit and saw the same thing at a store called Nari for half the price!! Some of the high priced designer wedding pieces may be good finds but not your normal party wear or fusion peices.The sales staff are absoultly rude unless they think you are rich, white or stupid. I was looking for wedding outfits and said i wanted to browse, since my mother in law was coming the next week and the lady actually told me that she would show me when I was ready to buy! Awful shopping experience I've ever had. I only gave this boutique 1 star only because of the variety of clothing if I could give zero stars I would. My cousin and I went in search of sarees for a wedding I have coming up. From the second we walked in we got the death stare. The sales associate followed us so close I stopped in front of her and she bumped into me. When we asked her to pull out items to show us she has this annoyed, disgusted look on her face. We knew this place was expensive but we were willing to pay whatever if we loved the outfit so much. We left the store with nothing because we felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome, we didn't know if they were prejudice against anybody not Indian/Pakistani/Palestinian . My cousin and I are Lebanese and have never felt this way in other stores on devon. but thank you to Uma Sarees for helping us out! Yes, the prices may be higher but you are paying for quality, experience, beautiful and clean store, more modern designs and really nice owners. My finace at the time told me that I should check out this place to find my Indian wedding dress (I wore a white one too) anyways, I was so impressed with there selection. Now, they aren't the best at letting you browse, so you have to be a little pushy on having them open them up and letting you try them on but once you get past that your golden. I went with my bridesmaids and all the moms and we had a great time. I put on 4 dresses and ended up picking the first one I put on. It was so stunning and so elaborate, I knew my husband to be would love it and he did! He cried as soon as he saw my walk down the aisle in it and said I looked gorgeous. The only other downfall was the alteration department, I would suggest taking it somewhere else, I was lucky that mine fit perfect and I only needed minor adjustments so that wasn't a big deal but with my bridesmaids Indian dresses it was a bit of a mess to say the least, in the end of the day it all worked out and my bridesmaids and myself all looked amazing. read more

The selection was okay okay. the store was nice. The staff was nice but kind of pushy. I bought a sari from india for 10,000 rupees, so I wanted to see if I can find something a little nicer than that one and I was shocked to see that their $200 saries were nothing compared to the one I got from india. I found a sari which was the same material and almost the same design as the one I got, and it was $700!! I know they can't have the same price as india, but at least it shouldn't be more than triple of it. When I tried to say no, the sales ladies were kind of pushy. I guess its a good place to shop if you don't have any other options and really need a nice dress and don't care about spending extra money. read more
