This place is wonderful!!! They had everything I needed, tons of great choices that fit my budget and very friendly staff! I've never been to an Indian wedding before, so I had no idea where to even start. Jiya is AWESOME!!! She was incredibly helpful and extremely patient with me each time (I went there three times). She was very kind, considerate, and went above and beyond to explain how everything works and how to properly dress for a wedding. She really took her time with me and wasn't trying to push any items on me, but instead helped me find the perfect affordable accessories for both sarees. I started my wedding shopping a few months back and am very happy that I went to Sahil. The first time I went with my mom to get an idea of what I wanted. The staff was really helpful especially Sana. We told her that we are not buying anything today and just wanted to look at our options. She was very helpful and took the time to show us different outfits. A month later I went back with my family and fiancé to finalize my outfits. Once again Sana was extremely helpful. She showed us different outfits and the latest trends. I ended up customizing one of my outfits and Sana recommended a beautiful color. When we went back to pick them up, I was and I am absolutely in love with both of my outfits. I also ended up buying my reception jewelry from there in which Sunitha was a huge help. She showed me different sets and matched the one that looked the best with my outfit. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and am extremely happy that I went with Sahil for my wedding outfits and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for their wedding outfits or any outfit for any occasion. read more

The selection was okay okay. the store was nice. The staff was nice but kind of pushy. I bought a sari from india for 10,000 rupees, so I wanted to see if I can find something a little nicer than that one and I was shocked to see that their $200 saries were nothing compared to the one I got from india. I found a sari which was the same material and almost the same design as the one I got, and it was $700!! I know they can't have the same price as india, but at least it shouldn't be more than triple of it. When I tried to say no, the sales ladies were kind of pushy. I guess its a good place to shop if you don't have any other options and really need a nice dress and don't care about spending extra money. read more

I visited Sahil a few times with my fiance to select outfits for our wedding. I worked with Shahana on each occasion to look at different styles, fabrics, and colors. Ultimately, we found a style we liked, but it didn't match my fiance's dress (which the staff saw, but which I did not). Shahana assisted me in obtaining all the information needed to craft a custom made jodphur suit that would complement my fiance's outfit; the detail was down to the specific trim, buttons, and materials used in the jacket itself. We also selected a velvet turban to go with the outfit. I was measured for precisely the style and cut I wanted to see. Throughout the crafting of the outfit, Sahil's staff frequently reached out with updates, and they even were able to have it ready early during one of my visits to Chicago. Even though it was a few weeks after my last visit, Shahana instantly remembered me and retrieved my suit so I could try it on. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and fit of the suit and it really met all my expectations and desires. The price was very fair. Shahana also helped me find a kurtha for my engagement party that was within my price range but still elegant. I was very happy with my experience and would highly recommend Sahil to others looking for formalwear. read more

4 stars -- I'll start off by saying the individual I dealt with personally was a delight. Amrita was always helpful, kind, gave her honest opinion and never tried to sell me something I wasn't interested in. Being from out of town, she always responded to email within a 24 hr or less time frame and she always had answers. This was reassuring for me. I ended up purchasing my wedding outfit from Sahil. They helped me customize it to my needs. They were willing to work with me and the budget that I had. The reason 1 star was taken away was because the price is a little high (but then again you get what you pay for... that being said, the quality of the product shows they did not skimp out. The outfit is made with great durable fabric and rich colors) and the experience at the check out wasn't ideal. This was mainly due to the younger girls they had working the register. They may have been having off days (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though every time I went into the store they always had the same attitude, I'm not sure, but I personally have worked in customer service and when you have an off day, that doesn't make it okay to take it out on the customer with a standoffish attitude. Other than those two reason, I had a great experience shopping here. The two reasons aren't really ones to turn you away from this great shop. I would go back and work with Amrita again. She will really listen to what it is that you're looking to get and help in any way. I appreciate the service I was given here at Sahil and at my next big event, whatever it may be, I'll be making another trip out to Chicago to see them. read more

Went shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding. What a wonderful experience! Everyone was really helpful without being even remotely pushy. I found exactly the dress that I wanted and at a phenomenal price. The manager Baboo was so nice he even ordered a cup of tea for us! Gita Shah showed me so many dresses and she was exceptionally patient - thank you Gita! Overall a wonderful experience, great customer service - will definitely return and recommend. read more

this shop offers good quality kurtis ranging from cotton, italian crepe to tussar silk. the kurtis costs from $25. the price on kurtis have no discount and cannot be bargained. but the price of churidhars and saris are too too pricey. i saw one red sari which was priced $250 but she offered $175 which again is too pricey for the sari. it would be worth not more than $75. i would strongly recommend to bargain to less than half price. but the sarees are almost pretty. the staff force you to buy and u dont have freedom to see clothes by yourself.. instead they are in packets and the staff show you one by one. you are free to try any dress. there are average crowd in the shop and the shop looks posh. read more

Everyone is correct that in fact the store is the best looking store, but customer services and how a customer is treated is very questionable. I ordered my bridesmaids lenga(9) from Shahil. When we got the lenga's back, the sizes were all messed put some of the top looked like they could fit a 5 year old, terrible. Sahil took them back and ordered another set, which was good. Still when we got the batch back the sizes were still off and my girl's just managed and got their one tailoring done. It was very stressful, especially since I was the bride. They never could tell me the issue, but from what I gathered they were getting everything made in India and the people there were getting confused with our measuring system. read more

I visited Chicago last year in search of my perfect wedding dress. The first store I walked in was Sahil and I immediately found my dream dress. I was BEAUTIFUL and high quality. I was a little frustrated at first because I wasn't given the space to think, but when I asked for it, I received as much space as I wanted from them. Just tell them to give you space and be less pushy. They helped me so great with recommendations. I think I viewed over 10 different dresses when I laid eyes on my piece. I wanted the top to be a little longer so they took my measurements to have everything custom made in India. I paid half the amount in advance and had an agreement that I would pay the other half when I receive my dress as desired. Yes the store might be expensive but out of experience I can tell you that you WILL get what you pay for. QUALITY!! and a good team! My dress is exactly how I wanted it and even better. I even bought my Mother of the bride dress and Maid of honor. Everything is PERFECT. I even received a discount because I bought so much there. You will not regret buying your dream dress from this place. They are professional, quick and caring. read more

i would like to take a moment to describe what a truly horrible experience I had with this store. after an exorbitant tailoring fee for their own clothing and 3 tries with the tailor not only do I have an ill fitting garment, but also a destroyed lengha top. the sequins that they ripped off and tried to glue on a the last minute came off. Okay. Here's the deal with Sahil. The clothes are prettier, trendier and more modern than those which you will find in other shops on Devon. However, the prices are two to three hundred percent higher. Moreover, if you need to have anything tailored, even a minor alteration, go to your own tailor. Sahil might be the worst tailoring experience I have ever had in my entire life. I ordered my bridal reception gown from them, and even though the tailor had taken my measurements before, the dress arrived too big around the waistline. So, I'm thinking, no problem, I'll just have him take it in a bit around the waist. He argues with me about it, and then takes it in everywhere--the bustline, waist, hips, everywhere--so that it is too tight in the bust (I'm a chesty girl) and hips, where it fit fine before. He seemed entirely incapable of fitting the dress to my proportions. Finally, I took it to my own tailor, who had no trouble fitting the dress to my measurements. Also, I asked him to take out the padded cups sewn into the dress--I already have enough padding there naturally and prefer to wear my own bra--and he again argued with me and would not do it! I had my own tailor take them out, and the dress looked much better on my figure. This tailor guy is utterly incompetent, and he's terribly rude. If you're just buying clothes off the shelf at Sahil, you probably won't have any problems, except for maybe overpaying a bit. However, if you need your clothes tailored in any way, stay far, far away from Sahil. read more
