We had a terrible experience here. The service was wonderful but the food was inedible. My salad was wilted and warm and my chicken sandwich came out dry and cold. Finally ate here last week with no wait. Previous attempts we left due to the wait. It's a pretty small Restuarant so head over early. App: breaded cauliflower (not the spicy version) - amazing. Not a lot of breading and it stayed crisp. No hard pcs of cauliflower. Would go back just for this. Salad: House side - comes with fresh fresh verges such as tomatoes and cucumber, not soggy or mushy. Topped with alfalfa sprouts, yum! Rockstone salad - delicious with cranberry poppyseed. Ordered as side with my entree. Cranberry side salad - no complaints here! Entrees: House stir fry - large chunks of veges and didn't have a mushy texture. Serving with a breadstick is unnecessary. Gobi Manchurian - I was Pumped to try. It was a bit spicy for me, slow heat built up. Rice was delicious and the texture of the breaded cauliflower was right on. Included crisp cabbage to add some bite. I just wasn't a fan of the actual sauce, maybe too gingery for me. W/o the sauce I could eat this everyday. Fish & chips - I love me a crispy fry but these were so hard they didn't have any potato texture left inside. No flavor so "chips" were disappointing. Fish was ok, thought it was odd they were in a slight block shape. Just ok, we prefer Muldoons in Carmel or LA Cafe in Whitestown. 4 stars... Good enough to not have major complaints but room for improvements. Small things like never getting lemon for water after both ordering it and asking again. Service was a little spotty. Two of our three salads came out after app, one didn't show up until after entree was served so it didn't get finished. Overall, breaded cauliflower/salads WINNER, skip fish & chips. read more

So we packed up 2 cars of out-of-town family/kids from Zionsville and arrived at 10:30pm. We (along with another family) were turned away since their kitchen closed. It was truly a "too bad; so sad" response with no service recovery, "next meal is on us" or empathy for our hungry kids & their false advertising. I understand that Sahm's globally decided to longer stay open this late, but honoring your advertised hours or making the situation "right" is required if you are not going to honor your word. read more

Good place for lunch. We went on a Friday at 12:30 and got a table for 5 easy. Ok place for kids. The kids menu had your standard Mac n cheese, tenders, burger and pizza. The kids burger was on a croissant like bun- so good. Didn't even get a pic my kiddo ate it all up. Tater tots were so good- yeah, they are probably frozen, but you can't beat a good tot! Disappointed with the focaccia bread pizza on the kids menu. The tomato sauce tasted to sweet and the cheese was the only redeeming part. If you like pizza, potatoes and bacon- get the potato bacon pie. You will be envied by everyone who doesn't order the potato bacon pie. Trust me. The Bulgogi bowl was ok. The meat was tender but could have used more seasoning. The beer selection is awesome. Something for everyone....of age....if you like beer. read more

My over all experience at Sahms was good, a nice family meal. It is in a lovely neighborhood and the staff were super friendly and quick service. We started with chicken nachos which were great! came out very swiftly. I ordered lasagna as my main meal, and although it was nice, the bottom of the lasagna was burnt. Went with nachos last time, but the nachos are only cheese and chicken on a plate of chips- no other toppings. When I asked for salsa, the waiter apologized for not giving me some to begin with. Gotta love the Sahm's influence on Carmel! While Big Lug will always be my favorite, this Sahm's is a great addition to the West Clay Village. We sat outside on a cooler July day and had a few beers. Our waitress knows when one of our kids is at a birthday party and one is with us and then asks durong our next visit how the birthday party was. They nail getting everythinrom fresh salads to tater tots amd comfort food. Tip - its a great place for big grous if you call ahead. We came here for the first time for dinner last weekend, and I'm pleased to report that we will definitely return. My husband and I both ordered from the Devour menu, and as part of the options, we chose the fried cauliflower for our appetizer. Omg...一you MUST order them! They had just the right amount of breading, seasoned well, and there was a huge serving for just the two of us. As for the entrees, I had the salmon, and my husband had the sirloin. Everything was cooked well and served in huge portions, which was awesome. The broccoli that came as a side to our entrees was delish - it just looked like your ordinary steamed broccoli, but it had just a hint of garlic/butter and a squeeze of lemon. We also appreciated the food for our 1 year old son. His chicken quesadilla from the kid's menu was substantial and delish (although let's be honest, what's not to love about chicken, cheese, and a warm tortilla?). The restaurant was kid-friendly, which is always a plus for us young parents that want to enjoy a meal out. I didn't give it a 5 star review because of a couple non-food related things. First, I thought it was a bit strange that there was absolutely no background noise - no music nor could you hear tv's in the bar (if there are any, I didn't peak into the bar while we were there). Before people starting coming in, it was SUPER quiet and with our 1 year old, I was worried with him making any noises. Second, the area we sat in just seemed like it had a couple too many tables. I understand you want to maximize the seating so as to maximize the business/profits, but when the room was full, I felt like we were packed in like sardines and felt overwhelmed. As a heads up, I'm not sure if it was because of the first Devour weekend, but after we arrived (5:30 pm), customers began to flock in soon afterwards. By 6:15 pm, it was PACKED. Again, I don't know if our experience was representative of a typical Saturday night here, but if it is, you better get there early or be ready to wait for a long time. (And the bar is small, so I believe that people waiting couldn't even get in there). read more

Very bad experience! We are regulars here for drinks and apps but tried the dining room since our daughter was with us. The food quality is very poor. We had wilted and old salad, very bad tasting salmon and food that never arrived. The manager was very crabby about our situation and barely took any money off our bill after we only ate half of our app and nothing else. The chocolate chip cookie dessert wasn't cooked - served raw. We were charged wrong for beer special. We will not be going back. Go to Danny Boys instead of this place. read more

We were the only ones inside the dining room and service was terribly slow and inattentive. Food was mediocre and I thought that the $20 for the buffalo wings was a little over the top. Made our first visit to Sahms last night. We were a bit disappointed for sure. The ambience is very LED lit and diner like and the food was quite ordinary. The bread was good and the rest of it was very average. My fiancé had the cowboy steak and it was overcooked and way too salty, I have the salmon and rice and the rice was so hard still I almost cracked a tooth on it and the salmon was OK. Also had clam chowder and it tasted like it was right out of the Campbell Soup can. The house salad dressing was delicious.The service was really nice though so while I wouldn't get back there I would give it a four-star for service and a two star for food read more

We loved Sahms when it first opened! Super sad the pizzas disappeared but love the new bar space. Sadly with the expansion it seems the service has deteriorated. Very very slow, understaffed for sure. I can recommend the meatloaf and basil gimlet to drink! That was the high point of our meals. The salad looked really really old and the bread was still half frozen when it came out. Both came out right as our meal was being served. My husband had the smoked wings and was very disappointed. Come on Sahm's get back to where you started! Great service AND great food. We'll try again in a few months to see if any positive changes have come! read more

I really wanted to like this place. It is so convenient to the house. The food is so mediocre and the drinks were too. They promote their own brand of big lug brew which is not very good. The wines I had were less than sub-par. We ordered a few of the modern fusion dishes and they really should stick to their coffee cake which is the only good thing there. Service was lackluster. Employees watched us come in and leave and the only one to crack a smile or was half way friendly was the hostess/waitress because she was "working". Most of the decent beer on tap was out. The other employees standing around showed they were overstaffed and not very happy to be there nor are they people person. Even our waitress was very robotic just going through the motions trying to get through the day. Way to make it a pleasant experience.... :( read more
