This restaurant is located in a little strip mall. There is tons of parking available in the mall's private parking lot shared between its businesses. There is something for everybody. Be sure to check out their daily lunch specials too. I ordered the buffalo fried chicken wrap with a side of sweet potato waffle fries. It took a little less than 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was fresh hot and delicious. they were both very tasty and flavorful. The staff there was very friendly. Always check the yelp reviews before you try places. I went here with my family for Mother's Day. We all did the brunch buffet. They charge 20$ for kids and 40$ for adults. Honestly, I've had better breakfast staying at Hampton Inn. Had lunch with some friends at George's Grill today. I haven't been here in a while since it's under new ownership, and the food and service are still top notch. We all got the breaded tenderloin - a thick, juicy sandwich fried and seasoned to perfection. The fries were good too - well seasoned. Our waiter provided good service and didn't rush us to finish. We got the seared ahi tuna appetizer and it was so good - I didn't expect this place to have such fresh raw fish but I would definitely order this again. It has been nine years since my last review of George's Neighborhood Grill, a mainstay of this area near 71st and Binford even as several of the businesses adjacent to it have long since departed. As was true nine years ago, [[HIGHLIGHT]]George's is practically the definition of a "neighborhood" restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's located in a strip center with a vacant storefront on one side (previously was a Tuesday Morning) and a pretty new Owlslee CBD on the other. I really like this strip center, though the Uncle Bill's Pet Center Express is long gone and the Entenmann's outlet now keeps MUCH more limited hours. When I come here, I tend to get a haircut at the nearby Great Clips, ice cream at Scoop Shack, and lunch or dinner at George's - all are within easy wheeling/walking distance and there's also CVS right on the corner. George's got new ownership on 9/1/2024, so you're unlikely to see George himself anymore. So far, changes are pretty modest with some light decor changes, very minor menu changes, and a more diverse but still just as friendly as ever staff. As you enter, there's a hosting area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have outside seating, though it's only used during warm weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Indoors, there's a bar area to the left (21+), family dining area directly behind the hosting area (there's a wall that separates the hosting area and the dining), and a private room that can be rented to the right of the dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything here is pretty accessible, though the double-doorway can be a bit tricky at times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is a mixture of tables, booths, and half-booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One other new change is that they now have a rewards program. They have appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and an after 4:30pm entree menu. They also have a healthy menu, pizza, and a handful of desserts. They carry Pepsi products, have a pretty decent beer menu, a full bar, a kids menu, and generally they're pretty family friendly. I tend to order pretty simply here - The George (a burger cooked to order), fish n' chips, chicken tenders, or a tenderloin are all high on my list. People swear by the pizza, though I've had it once and didn't care for it at all. In fact, the pizza is the only thing I've had here I genuinely didn't like. George's has always been a bit hit-and-miss with service - occasionally amazing and occasionally just plain off. Today, for example, was wonderful. I still remember having one server who was so wonderful right after I'd been diagnosed with cancer - she was warm and wonderful. I hadn't told her I had cancer, but left her a tip thanking her for the wonderful service and explaining why it was so meaningful. She ended up running out to greet me at the my car. It was pretty incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the atmosphere here. The bar does have live music and it's not uncommon for Cleveland Browns fans to call George's home for a Sunday gathering during the season.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was a little concerned when I heard George's was being sold, but so far it's been as usual with good food, mostly good service, a winning atmosphere, and a place I'm pleased to frequent. read more

George's is a neighborhood gem. IYKYK. My cousin reserved a private room to celebrate a birthday on a weeknight. George's provided two servers for our group of approximately 21. We were divided into two tables. The service was fast and friendly. I went for the Chicken Velvet Soup as an appetizer. It was thick, creamy, and tasty. For my meal I ordered off of the daily specials menu. My steak quesadilla was pretty good too. They had a new donut bread pudding that I want to go back to try. I recommend George's for date night, family outings, or take out. The regular menu has plenty of offerings and the specials change daily. We visited here with a large party, the server we had was really attentive, especially with having 30 people to tend to. The food was just OK. I would say it was more bland, my boyfriend ordered zucchini fries, and they had no flavor whatsoever. On the menu, it is not listed that Parmesan is on top of the zucchini fries, so we didn't have to send those back because he is vegan. I don't know if I would return back just because of the bland flavor of the food, but I didn't have a terrible experience, it just wasn't great! read more

I've heard about this place for years but I've never been there before my recent Monday night visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was by myself, so I looked to the hostess for guidance on whether I wanted to sit in the bar or the restaurant. She suggested the bar because it was quieter and that was a good choice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at a tall table and was greeted quickly. Having looked at the menu ahead of time I was prepared to order the salmon special but Phyl talked me into the Chilean salmon entree. It was just a little more special than the special. Included a side of green beans and I chose a side salad. So happy I went with the recommendation for the feta vinaigrette dressing. I will be craving that again! Remember when George's wasn't open on Monday's? Now they are open for business on Mondays and have been for a while. Nobody told me! I love supporting independent restaurants and George's makes it easy. The menu is expansive, the food is delicious, the hard-working staff is attentive and it is apparent they work as a team. Mark was my server this evening. He did a great job making sure I had a good experience. It is little things like bringing lids for the sour cream & salsa when I wanted a to-go container. This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I've been here with my grandson and he liked it. Over the years I've eaten here and never had a bad experience. It's been awhile since my last visit and I understand the ownership changed last year. Our service was pretty good, my cocktail and wine were good also. The filets we ordered however didn't really live up to the claims made on the menu. My friend's filet was dry. We both ordered medium. I've been up to George's just a couple of times in the last year. This used to be our go to spot since my 90-year-old mom lives a few blocks away. We've had bad experiences there. If we can get the wait staff, that was there when old owners had it, the service is always good, but the food has gone downhill. I used to crave the chicken velvet soup and would have that in the summertime sitting on the patio. CV was so good even though it was too hot for soup. The soup recipe they've added more salt to it. The chili was my favorite chili in town. I used to crave the chili also and the chili is just at best mediocre. It truly is embarrassing and used to be such a great spot. I don't know who owns it if they're going cheaper on food products or what but it's still expensive to have bad tasting food. read more

Wow has this place gone downhill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped in for dinner and there wasn't much of a crowd for a Saturday night at 6pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The rudeness of the staff started with the hostess who acted as if we were bothering her with our presence as soon as we walk through the door. We got seated at a table in the bar, and almost got up and left after sitting there for a very long time before someone finally came over to ask us if we wanted something. We got our order placed for drinks and that took about 10 minutes. Once our food it hit the table, which was mid at best, and that was it. Empty drinks, no follow up to see if we needed anything more and had to sit waiting to pay so we could get out of there. Our "waiter" pretty much vanished and one of the bartenders eventually delivered our check. We paid and left. Sadly, won't be back. read more

In town visiting for work and decided to stop in for a bite and drinks. Hostess was nice, Megan the bar tender was nice and full of good energy. Food was mid however, Antonio, the bar back that replaced Megan mid visit was stiff, ignored me and wouldn't communicate. My sister requested to go box and the check. He proceeded to hand her the check and once I extended my hand for it caught an attitude and wouldn't hand it to me. I had to lean across the table and nearly fell into it. Finally Antonio was communicating with me to secure his tip. I don't believe I will return. I didn't like his energy and performance. Again the food is just mid...not crave worthy. read more

The restaurant had a dingy vibe. The waitstaff weren't all that interested in the diners. And the food was just your average bar food. Over a week ago I made reservations to watch the Ohio State Notre Dame game. We had been there for the Rose Bowl and all was well. i even got an email a few days ago from George's to come watch the game. Book now! It said. Everything is fine and near half time I asked the bartender, jokingly to a degree, if they were going to stay open for the rest of the game. He said YES. So now it is halftime, and a man, I assume the manager, comes out of the back and says they are closing and we had to leave. Now this is just plain WRONG. I am sorry they didn't have business. But they advertised to come watch the game. When we got there, there were only a few people there. If they were going to close, that was the time to tell us, not after we had watched half the game. I know it is new ownership, but decisions have consequences. You lost customers tonight. read more

Went to George's Neighborhood Grill for lunch. They have daily specials. Today my wife got the half chicken salad sandwich with chips and a side house salad. I ordered a large bowl of chili and the buffalo chicken wrap. George's has a diverse menu and a good atmosphere. When it's nice weather, they have a good patio dining (albeit overlooking the parking lot). My wife got the better end of the deal, meal wise. The chicken salad was delicious. It contained grapes, which was a very nice touch. The side salad was fresh and the lettuce was crisp. (Sorry, forgot to take pics). My buffalo chicken wrap was good, had good flavor. It could have had a bit more chicken and not so much filler of lettuce, tomatoes, etc. The chili was a different story. It was served cold and not edible. They apologized and reheated my same bowl. It was hot when it was returned but extremely salty. I would not order it again. Service was attentive, food was served fast, and bill was correct. read more

As a friend of the co-owner and Executive Chef, Chuck Vinice who joined us for the meal. The food was outstanding in every way. The chefs Chuck has working when he isn't there, are top shelf chefs. They give you the exact same quality of food. Came here for a birthday party Friday night, 25-October-2024. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived the party room wasn't really set up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It seemed like the two servers who were supposed to be working the party had never worked a party before. My wife never got her water and we had to ask multiple times where her food was after everyone else got served and were eating. We had to go out to the host stand and get our own silverware because the tables had none. Overall the food was pretty good but the service was terrible.
