We go to Saigon & Tokyo about once a week. This is, hands down, my favorite restaurant. We have been going there for nearly a year and still have not tried everything on the menu....but everything we have had we LOVE. The food is amazingly fresh and good quality, with unique flavors that you will crave. I first tried this restaurant as I was missing Pho, and their's is perfection itself. While I love and prefer the Vietnamese and Japanese menu, they have the best Chinese food in the area. It's not overly greasy and heavy, while tasting amazing. We came in for the first time this evening after getting a recommendation from a friend in the area. Wow! Tiny little place bustling with business. The menu doesn't disappoint; it's quite extensive. We started with a Chinese sampler of 4 teriyaki sticks, 4 crab Rangoons & 4 chicken fingers. They came out fast and piping hot. Impressive since it was 5pm on Saturday night and the line at the door was non-stop for take out. For our meals, I tried the General Tso Chicken which was a huge serving that came with a healthy portion of sticky rice and my fiancée had the szechuan lo menu with pork, chicken and shrimp. Both were great I also ordered a tuna roll off the sushi menu which was very fresh. The service was efficient but not super friendly. read more

Not giving this place 5 stars is inexcusable. I understand it's small and there's never enough parking but that's what happens when you serve the best Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food around! I went with some people from work and we ordered the pups for two, pork fried rice, some soup with rice noodles and seafood, sushi (spicy tuna roll, California roll) and a bunch of other stuff to fill our table. The food was..... AMAZING! Some of the best fried rice I've ever had and the beef teriyaki sticks were incredible. The chicken tenders which are normally horrible everywhere else were delicious. Boneless spare ribs were perfect, egg rolls were perfect, crab rangoons were the beat, soup was savory and spectacular, sushi was on point....... Every dish was better than anywhere I've been to in his area. I'm from Rochester so it's a bit of a drive but worth it for being 20 minutes away. A friend of mine lives in Dover and the deliver! I can not believe how rude and inconsiderate the female owner was! We are here from out of state. We called in an order to pick up. When I arrived I noticed that there was an up charge because I requested garlic sauce instead of the ginger sauce my dish came with. On the phone the woman told me this was not a problem. But she NEVER mentioned it costing extra. When I brought this to her attention, she got an attitude and told me that it is my fault because I didn't ask! What?? Why would I ask? This is the best sushi place I have ever been to, the fish is so fresh and put together right. The roll doesn't fall apart and the chef speciality rolls are beautiful. Each one tastes so unique, this place really opened up my palate. I never liked sushi until I tried this place, and I have probably tried every roll on the menu. My favorite is the Josh roll. This was very mediocre Chinese food unfortunately. Customer service was excellent but the chef needs to reconsider. The Kung Pao Chicken was slimy, the beef and broccoli was very fatty and chewy. The pad Thai was dry and had no sauce not tothe noodle to vegetable ratio was off. read more

My wife and I stopped in here per a recommendation and we were not disappointed! It was so busy it was funny... phones ringing, take out customers coming in and full dining room! We were seAted rather quickly and a young gentleman server couldn't have been more pleasant and described the many dishes perfectly. Always had a smile on his face. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! It doesn't seat many people so there is usually a wait, but has always been worth it! They pump out some serious take-out orders! I have had the general tsao's chicken pretty much every single time & it is the BEST one I have had! Their cocktails are very inexpensive as well as strong. We have been ordering food from this place for a couple years now and every time we made orders, if the owner picked up the phone, she always damn rude!! Even in person, she can be very rude. A couple days ago, I was picking up my orders and this sweet young lady in the front was trying to help us that was waiting for the food but the owner stormed in out of no where and accused her own worker of making mistakes with orders. The young lady seemed to be used to the owner but that is no way to treat people. The girl just walked away respectfully. She spoke very well English but the owner was rude and has an accent. If it weren't for the employees, the store would probably be closed by now because people would not deal wit the services. This is my favorite restaurant for Asian food. They serve Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese food. The food is authentic and very tasty. The portions are very generous I usually order Kung Pain shrimp, which is my favorite dish there. Today, for a change I ordered the General Tsao's to see how theirs was. I am by no means a Chinese food junkie. I crave it about once every four months. I know you're thinking, if that's the case I'm not going to know anything about how Chinese food should taste. However, I am actually very picky about it because I don't eat it often. Driving by this place you would think its just another gross Chinese place given the exterior, but it's a whole different experience inside. The place is definitely small but it's cozy. The place is packed when we walked in, so we decided to sit at the sushi bar. It took a little while for the waiter to come over and greet us but once he did he was great. The food came out reasonably fast given how busy it was and all the take out they were doing. Overall the experience was great. I don't have one bad thing to say about the place. Saigon Tokyo is the best and our favorite place around. We love the Phø, crab rangoon and Thai tea. As You can tell their menu is extensive, but doesnt lack in quality. We also love the sushi bar. Not only is this a nice sit-down restaurant but to-go orders are on point and if you live close enough they will deliver! Brought my entire family (6 of us) for dinner. When we walked in, we were told it would be a 20 minute or more wait for a table. The thing is, though, there was an 8-top table right near the entrance that was not being used. I asked if anyone had reserved it, and they said no, they just didn't want to waste an 8-top table on 6 people. They wanted us to wait until a booth (which seats 4 comfortably) opened up, and for us to squeeze in there. I said, "Really? You won't sit us at the table that is open right now?" The portions are huge and the ingredients are incredibly fresh (their bean sprouts are phenomenal). The drinks and bubble tea are delicious. It's also very affordable. Heartless! You don't understand me? I feel like you guys are screwing me here! Wait, you're not going to do anything about it? Ok fine, I'll see you tomorrow... So...here's my stinking dilemma. This place has amazing food. There are some items on the menu that are blindingly good. Skip the appetizers, and the sushi is a B+ (but the best you can get within an hours drive and it's not even worth talking about the 2nd place finisher.) The Pho is amazing. The noodles are divine....most of the time. Here's the thing about this place, it's amazing. The ambience sort of works, because it's kind of run down. The people are meh. The delivery guy is the worst. haha. But seriously he sucks. What's more, he knows it. Twice i've gone to give him cash (in twenties) and when I tell him the cash back I want, (meaning, total + 20% tip) I get that "I-don't-really-know-what-I'm doing-but-I-have-this-many" look. 2 TIMES! He's heard my request and pulled out a crumpled dollar bill and said "this all I have" like a toddler at the toy store. I know I know, who gives him a second try...but there will not be a third. This time I even tried to call them back at the restaurant tell them what happened. I wouldn't have, except also this time the noodles (which I always order) were the worst I've ever had there. It was clear the cook just tossed in a ton of left overs and more than 1.5 times the usual spice and called it the szechuan noodles. Seriously there were so many ingredients thrown into this dish that have never been there before! haha. So I call and try and explain all that had happened, and what I'm hearing from them is "Oh no, so sorry," etc. So then I say "no biggie, look, why dont I come by and just pick up a fresh order of noodles and we'll call it a day." I explained that I wouldn't try and get the cash back that I wasn't trying to tip with earlier and all that happened would be water under the bridge. I was even going to bring back the original noodles order which was hardly eaten. And then....and this is true.....seriously after a 5 minute conversation amongst adults, with back and forth......questions and sentences....cogent points and counterpoints....I say, lemme come back and just get a new order of the noodles, and I hear a pause and then "I don't really understand what you saying." I'm like, "wait what?" and she goes "I no understand you, sorry but I no understand."I was stunned. Then she hung up. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. We JUST TALKED WITH NO PROBLEMS! Oh well. These guys are so busy. They are rolling in it. They could not care in the least, if they lose one or two customers. I mean, I'm pretty sure they use $10 bills to wipe their collective ass and $50 bills as napkins. They could not care any less about me as a customer. And the worst thing? I'll probably go there 10 times this month. It's that good. So 1.) with delivery, have exact cash and stiff the bastard for me why don't you. 2.) Be prepared to have no power in your relationship with Saigon. She's a temptress....a wily temptress. I feel like george costanza...I have no hand, jerry! No hand! 3.) Be prepared to have your mind blown, most of the time, with the amazing food. and Finally, maybe don't order on a Saturday. Man Saigon, how could you do me like that!? No pho-king way!!!! I adore a good bowl of Pho, so when I heard that there was a Pho joint in Dover, I was interested, but wary. Dover foodies know that the area has little to offer when it comes to mind blowing Asian fare. Dover has always had 'good enough' Asian food at best-until now. I decided to take a chance and have lunch at Saigon & Tokyo this afternoon and my mind? It was blown! My husband is a sushi lover, so he ordered the Dover roll as an appetizer and it was possibly the best sushi I have ever had! I would have happily eaten that all day, but I was anxious to try my favorite-the vermicelli bowl. I had my standard dish for testing out a new place (#45 on the menu). It was possibly the best version of the dish I have ever had-and when I say that, I say it with a trail of Pho places behind me from South Florida to Boston. The offerings here definitely beat out the competition for at least 30 miles. Service could have been a touch faster, but the food was so good that I am willing to assume that the staff is just working out the new restaurant wrinkles. If I have to die young, I hope it will be on a day when my stomach is full of the offerings of Saigon & Tokyo so I can die happy! I plan to eat here as many times as possible. Seriously, Seacoast, PLEASE patronize the heck out of this place. It would be a tragedy if Dover ever lost this culinary gem! read more
