This place has been on my list for over a year and here we are unknowingly walking in during restaurant week. My man got the preset meal - soup, fish and dessert (see photos) and I went ala carte and got Brussels sprout and Thai noodles with chicken. Everything was delicious, our server was amazing. Dishes were almost too pretty to eat but prices were reasonable and the flavors were fantastic. The sprouts and the soup were the stand outs for sure but it was all sooooo good.

Our dinner here was an excellent experience from start to finish. The menu offerings were different and unique enough to be immediately interesting, and I really enjoyed their focus on curries. My party of 6 had a wide variance in the degree of spiciness they could tolerate, all the way from "very" to "none," and our server was able to indicate which menu options would work for which tastes, and which dishes could have their spiciness moderated. The drinks were equally interesting, and some have a nice, unexpected, kick due to their homemade spicy agave. Another unexpected plus was that on Thursday evenings, a pre-fixe dinner for 2 menu is available, which 2 of us selected. Your options are much more limited but equally delicious. Everything tasted quite fresh, all our dishes came out quickly and at the same time. Unfortunately, they had run out of a few menu items, but each time we ordered something that was unavailable, we were given alternatives added for the evening which were just as good, plus some complimentary desserts. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and contributed to our overall enjoyment. I received almost as many compliments and thank-you's from my group for finding the restaurant as we made there regarding the food and service.

This place is very modern and vibrant but the food was lacking flavor. Everything looked amazing but it was missing some spice. Service was very attentive and their menu had a large selection of wines and drinks. This place is great for a date night.

Such a hidden gem! This place is so cool, the food is excellent and unique, the drinks are on point, and the vibes are great. I love that you can get a bunch of small shareable plates, we were really tempted to order everything on the menu! My favorites were definitely the moo ping skewer and garlic calamari. I also enjoyed the tuna tartare and laab duck. For dessert, we got the souffle cheesecake which was as beautiful as it was tasty (both!). We sat at the bar and I enjoyed the conversation with the bartender, I can't wait to come back here!

When we first walked in it didn't seem like a Thai restaurant at all, but it was very nice. The menu isn't the traditional Thai menu we're used to and it is a little pricey, but the food was very good. Our server was very friendly and helpful.

Five enthusiastic stars, wish I could give more. From beginning to end, the food was off the charts. This is not your typical Thai restaurant, nor does it fall into the Street Food category. You will experience a master chef's improvement on many of your favorite dishes. They use top quality ingredients and proven recipes from the homeland. The bartender is fabulous as well. I had the Dealer's Choice and would have had 5 of them if I wasn't driving. The coconut brown sugar dessert was incredibly good and quite light. In fact, we didn't have any rice and left feeling like we had a healthy dinner. Not too filling, not salty, not carby. Awesome!

Lots of potential here, and I trust this restaurant will improve as they gain more experience. I believe they have only been open for 7 weeks when we dined. First, the room is beautiful, and they did a nice job reworking the space. there are some awkward tight corners if you try to navigate from the front of the room to the rear restrooms, but perhaps more a problem for the staff than diner. We have many many Thai and Thai inflienced restaurants in Portsmouth and the surrounding towns, and this menu is a bit different than the others, but still has some of our favorite Thai dishes. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed to know her way around the menu. She was candid about her likes and reservations about some of the dishes. Her comment were more of texture and taste that were not clearly represented in the dish description. She steered us well! Overall the food was good, but we did find some of the portions exceptionally small as compared to other Thai restaurants. If you go, order a few more dishes than you think you would need. We are not big eaters, but we under ordered, a rarity for us. Usually we have way too much food, and honestly we are not fans of leftovers. As we were dining rhe restaurant became packed and people were lined up outside. It was a chilly night, but that did not deter people from dining outside. They have a very nice setup with fire pits. You absolutely need a reservation here. Our only real service issue was with dessert. It took a really long time, at least 25 minutes to show. Our waitress came over a few times to check, went to the kitchen, hostess came by our table and seemed to be wondering why we had not left. The coffee flan/panna cotta finally did arrive, and it was tasty, perhaps not an authentic Thai dessert to my knowledge, but it seemed worth the wait. I think the growing pains will pass and this will be a great addition to Portsmouth's great lineup of restaurants.

If you're looking for good Thai food and a place to sit down and enjoy, this is the place. The Decor is as unique as the food. Every dish we had was decorated like it was an art piece. The food was so refreshing it was satisfying. The dine in experience was worth it. The staff were amazing. I definitely will be back to try more from the menu.

We went for restaurant week and it was such a fun (and tasty) experience! The waitress gave us a little information about the dishes when she brought them out and we loved learning about classic Thai cuisine. The food was phenomenal, great spice and flavor. I recommend Five 81ne to everyone

I had the caprese chicken sandwich, which had grilled pesto chicken, mozzarella, and roasted tomatoes served on a focaccia bun. The salmon bites were over saturated in sauce so much so that the panko was soggy, the pan seared scallops were decent but I found the bacon jam to be too sweet paired with the scallops. We could not flag down our waiter any of the times we needed her and every time we asked someone else for help they'd leave and not come back. When it started raining and we needed to move indoors she was gone for so long she was surprised when she returned and we had already had been helped inside by another staff member. We ended the meal when she said she'd come back with water only to disappear and we ended up asking another waitress for the check, and she redirected it back to our waitress, who finally came back with no water. The restaurant was by no means full so I'm not sure what the large gaps in service was, and at one point my friend noticed the waitresses chatting in the kitchen while we were craning our necks. I'd only come back to order the seafood chowder as the rest of the dishes weren't good enough to make up for this.

We started with cocktails and their excellent house-made rolls, then split a dozen oysters from a wide selection; the server's recommendations were spot-on. The tuna crudo was a standout appetizer--silky slices of fresh raw tuna with bright Asian-inspired flavors that complemented the fish beautifully. My only complaint? Four pieces for $21 disappeared way too quickly. I also tried Ethel's Creamy Lobster Roll, which came on perfectly toasted bread with the restaurant's signature thick-cut, house-made 242 fries. While the buttery roll was satisfying, I was hoping for a more generous portion of lobster. At $54, plus an upcharge for the specialty 242 in house made fries, this was definitely the meal that emptied the wallet more than it impressed my taste buds. The crispy fish tacos were my favorite of the meal. Each taco was packed with large pieces of crispy fried fish layered over a fresh slaw, and a squeeze of lime brought everything together with a bright, refreshing finish. As for the crispy fish sandwich...it was just mid. Perfectly edible, but nothing memorable compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, this is a beautiful seafood restaurant with a lively atmosphere and quality ingredients, but be prepared for upscale prices. You'll likely leave with a full stomach--but also a noticeably lighter wallet.

So I got the hot lobster roll and my boyfriend got the cold lobster roll (not pictured sadly). Personally, I prefer a warm buttery roll, but he loved his cold roll and said it was perfectly seasoned. You get a good amount of lobster and it's $30. The line... omg it was out the door and soooo long. But trust me. Stay! It's worth it. And they move super fast. The pricing overall was really good. We also got the lobster bisque which had chunks of lobster in it (I dipped my roll in it and it was magic). Only $10! And a good portion. But they have all sorts of things--Mac and cheese, shrimp cocktail, steamers... and next door you can get fresh seafood as well. This is seafood heaven. And again, I was content with the price for quality food. Now let me quickly talk about the view because that was awesome. We sat outside and watched the ocean because it's at Rye Harbor (as the name suggests). It's so relaxing. Especially on a beautiful day. Here's the one thing you may be iffy on. $10 to pay for parking for the day. 30 minutes free. If you think you can do it all in 30 minutes, go for it. But we didn't want to rush so we paid $10 for parking which is kind of eh. But I get it because the whale watch leaves from the harbor. A minor thing to know, but not something to deter you from coming. Though if you don't come... that's more lobster rolls for me!

They serve various size of lobsters as well as cook them for you. However they do not provide place to eat or utensils so they function more as a market than a restaurant. They have sort of a parking lot where you can park. There are few works on the back hanging around and 2 younger staff that take care of orders. Lobster has quite few size options and some explanations for terms they use. We weren't sure what to get but figure we wanted larger size lobsters. SLX which is the largest ones were $14 per pound. They can also let you pick them live as well but we chose 2 lb ones. They charge $1.5 to boil but it's a-lot of work to boil properly so it's worth it. We waited about 20-25minutes or so and they also chilled it so that we can take it home to eat. Luckily we had ice box with some ice packs so it kept the lobster fresh until getting home. Once we got home we opened the bag to eat the lobster. It's a huge lobster with large claws. We got a large bowl and separate plate to eat. It was a massive task to crack the claws as one of the claw was huge and very tough. We ended up using a hammer and dull knife to crack them open. The meat was tender and sweet. One of the best maine lobster we had. Overall the place provides fresh maine lobster for good price. Only issue is that they don't serve it so you will need to plan to take it home and have tools to crack them open. They also only take cash. If i were to come back i would give them a call a head of time to have the lobster prepared to go and pick them up which seems to be what other people were doing.
