Tried and enjoyed the egg rolls, Chicken Banh Mi, and the Lemongrass Tofu dishes on a weeknight. The egg rolls were crispy, delicious and thin served with the requisite lettuce, pickled vegetables,mint, and fish sauce dip. The baguette with the Banh Mi was crispy and the chicken perfectly grilled also served with pickled veggies and fresh lettuce and a few jalapenos. The lemongrass tofu on vermicelli was flavorful and fresh, but I would've enjoyed having a few more pieces of tofu to further complement my bowl. The service was friendly and efficient and the decor fitting a Vietnamese Cafe with Seafood. I ordered an appetizer and a glass of water. They wanted to charge 50¢ for TAP WATER. I know there are charges in Europe for water, but I've not been charged in California for Tap water, sparkling or bottled, yes. This is something new as I've eaten here a number of times. I ordered the grilled muscles and it smelled foul. The popcorn chicken tasted like they were microwaved out of a bag. We ordered fries with the popcorn shrimp that tasted reheated. I asked for new cups and she went to the stack of cups and kept looking for clean ones with no water marks! (Took 10 mins to find CLEAN CUPS w/4 customers inside) She had to go find the brand new bag of cups! Because out of the 100s of cups that are already stacked not 1 was clean! My wife and I had a fantastic pho place in Long Beach on 10th. Parking was horrible and the line was long. But it was sooo good that nothing else mattered after the first taste...it was that good! We support local businesses so we decided to try this place. I was skeptical-I never thought anything could be better than our old haunt. I was blown away! It's the best I've ever had. This place is the real deal! I'll most likely have lunch there tomorrow. I gave this restaurant 4 stars because I don't think people really believe anything is good enough to be a 5 star restaurant. This place is pretty empty and the food was mediocre. It's pretty expensive for the quality. I wasn't planning on going back or leaving a review but I was annoyed when my husband handed me the receipt. We ordered a couple of Pho bowls that comes with 2 type of meat. The staff there heard me asking my husband why there wasn't meatballs in one of them so the staff said he'll bring it not a problem. He did NOT disclose that he would charge us $8 for them. When we saw the iceberg lettuce we were like omg! Th egg rolls were not the best, but they weren't the worst! Now when the edamame came out holy moly !! Wow was not expecting such an amazing experience! I was expecting just some basic comfort pho with my nanny baby and gosh we both were blown away! The oxtail pho was fantastic the oxtail was incredibly tender and the broth was amazing I didn't add anything except for their chili oil!!!!!! This chili oil is amazing!! It took my pho out of this park. We were the only ones here and I was so surprised with how good the food was. Service was superb she made sure we had all we needed and was so sweet to my nanny baby. I've went here a total of three times and only got an okay experience the first time. The second time I went my server had an attitude and it was as if whenever I asked for something it was an inconvenience to him. I got a seafood boil and it came out within reasonable time. The last time I went was last night and me and my husbands experience was horrible. I ordered edamame and when it came out the portion was ridiculous it was less than a handful. When other tables got theirs it was normal portions. I ordered a seafood boil and they didn't give me gloves or the paper to cover the table or anything. I waited about 30 minutes and I asked if they could check on my food since it was a reasonable amount of time to cook it. My husband got his food before mine which wasn't an issue for me although it was only like 4 pieces of meat in his vermicelli order. Other tables were getting their food before me and at this point everyone that came after us was getting their food. They didn't update me about my food and I waited about another 20 minutes. I was annoyed with the fact that every order that was coming out the kitchen wasn't mine and it had been almost an hour. I paid for what I consumed and left. Don't come here portions made no sense. I was so excited to try this place and I was very disappointed. I went yesterday 4/26 around 8pm with my boyfriend & son. The wait was ridiculous. I understand that its the weekend and all places are busy but seems like they were given priority to online orders as we see people pick up. Then two girls sat next to us and got annoyed about the wait so they asked about the wait time and were given their food before us. Mind you we were there first. Finally after about a 40min wait we got our food. We're not even given or offered water by the way. It was really good but by that time we were frustrated and didn't really enjoy it. We just wanted to leave. As we were leaving the girls were arguing with the manager about getting a discount and it was handled in a unprofessional manner as we were heating yelling and threats to call the police. We payed and were not offered any compensation for the bad experience which is fine. The waiter did apologize but said it was out of his hands. I will not be returning and sad to say because I seen its a family owned business and we like supporting small businesses but the experience we had was less than fortunate. The review and pictures looked good. We ordered 2 pho Dac biet and an appetizer of coconut sea snails, which I was surprised they had. The food took a little long, but they gave us complimentary eggrolls, which I thought was so nice. Well, the pho is probably the saddest pho I have ever had in my life. No flavor of pho and a quarter of a beef meatball was given. The tripe was only one tiny slither that I couldn't even taste the texture. I didn't even want to take a picture of the pho, but I did of the snails. I was so disappointed. I am not trying to be some pho snob, but I've eaten pho my whole life and know when there wasn't love in making that pho. It was just to please anyone who would just settle for mediocre pho or maybe never had it. It's sad that pho doesn't look or taste the same anymore in some places. When we got the check, I noticed it said "no onions" on the orders of pho. We never even said no onions. Now that I think of it, don't think there was cilantro either. The chili oil they had was bomb and that was probably what made it good bc that's what I dipped the overcooked beef slices. It was too hot (AC was barely on in there, just a small fan) and the food was eaten so didn't want to tell the server anything. Not sure how the food on Yelp looked so much better. Came in this morning craving a Pho soup. This place did not disappoint. The broth was very rich in flavor. I'm more of a broth person and I tasted the broth before putting any toppings on. It looks like they took over the location and have not changed any of the signage. There was no AC and it was HOT in there. Place looked clean. Got home and realized they missed part of our order.
