The atmosphere really stands out at this restaurant, and the food is very much above average thai-vietnamese fare. It is worth the drive from Denver to take a romantic date here, since the restaurant is in a charming house on a very steep hill overlooking the small touristy, lakeside section of evergreen. The waiters are mostly attentive and welcoming, and there is never a wait. On evenings, there is a relaxed Asian pianist that quietly and unobtrusively plays the same 10 songs in loose rotation, typically well known theme songs from movies, musical scores and popular classics of yesteryear such as the godfather, chariots of fire, cats, and house of the rising sun; occassionally making a bad note just to keep things interesting. Notable dishes include the padthai and the combination appetizer (stuffed chicken wings, vietnamese eggrolls), beef and broccoli, and their thai spicy noodle soups. Their stuffed grape leaves dish although expensive is on par with Boulder, CO's Chez thuy in terms of stellar deliciousness. Almost everything here is well prepared and well presented. read more

Edible food but far from being good and way overpriced. We went there with visiting family from VA where there are countless great Asian restaurants. Typically, Asian restaurants have cheap awesome food with bad service, which is tolerable, but this place sucks on both counts. An older man server is rude and almost sounded angry that we are making him work. Dirty silverware and sticky plastic menu didn't help. Seafood dish hardly had any seafood and other dishes were very bland. We will be going down to Denver for some good authentic Vietnamese food. read more

You will never expect this little mountain town to have a kickin' Vietnamese place. It's not just fast-pho either, it's an upscale sit down and enjoy your meal kind of place. They have a great menu, it's well designed. You can share or enjoy a variety easily. The portions are perfect, service is good, and ambiance is nice- they have round tables which I think lend to conversation. It's a great way to end a mountain drive up to Evergreen. A lot better than a hot dog and that is just about your only other choice in this neck of the woods- anh, there's probably a biker bar close too. read more

Wow, I can't believe I forgot Saigon Landing existed. It was where my boyfriend and I had one of our first dates (a looong time ago), and it's easy to miss because it is at the top of the hill on Douglas Park Rd. right off the main drag. When my dad and step-mom were in town recently and I was stressed wondering where I could take them that wouldn't be overpriced or bar food, I'm so glad I looked up and remembered Saigon Landing! We all were very impressed by the quality of the food and the service, but most of all, the location. Saigon Landing is in an old Victorian house that, sitting on this steep hill, looks like it belongs in Portland or San Fran. When you walk in, the lofty space feels overly elegant, especially coupled with the guy playing light classical tunes on the baby grand piano. Sitting inside would be beautiful, as the walls are lined with windows, but the patio is where we asked to sit and offers a view of the hillside that borders the south side of downtown Evergreen. It doesn't look quite that stable, but as patios go in Evergreen it's one of the best. My step-mom ordered vegetable tempura with our appetizers, which wasn't on the menu but they were happy to make it. It was a good choice, their tempura batter was awesome! For dinner, I told the waiter that I wanted whatever I smelled that was soooooo good. I think it was the chicken with cashew nuts? I don't remember, but I know that all of our food was great, no complaints. read more

I enjoyed a fantastic vegetarian dinner here with some friends a few weeks ago. I was there on a pretty quiet night (Wednesday); the restaurant was clean, décor simple yet tasteful (pun intended), seemed ideal for groups (we were at a round table), and our waiter attentive and cheerful. We ordered plenty of food to share. Some of my favorites included the crispy rolls. I had never had these before, and loved that this fried appetizer was plated with fresh lettuce mint, bean sprouts and lettuce, carrots, etc. We wrapped our rolls in the lettuce and dressed them with the veggies and sauces. Other favorites were the pineapple-fried rice (great presentation), and flan and Vietnamese iced coffee for desert (neither was overly sweet). I had an unexpected and very enjoyable dinner here last night after an adventure on Mt. Evans. The location is most interesting and the building I'm sure has a story. The food was delicious; skillfully, and in some cases quite artfully prepared. They had a piano player who was equally skilled and treated us to some surprising piano renditions including House of the Rising Sun. I enjoyed the stuffed chicken wings and pork crispy rolls in particular. The sesame chicken was amazing as well. I'll have to find my way back here with a larger group to sample a broader range of menu selections. I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese food in general and while they have an impressive offering in that category, they also have a good variety of dishes from other parts of Southeast Asia and China. I wouldn't have expected to find a place like this tucked into a curious building in old Evergreen, but I'm glad I found it. read more

I don't know this place is only 3 stars. They have classic dishes that are good. We had the spring rolls, chicken steamed dumplings, sesame chicken & Mongolian beef. Steamed dumplings were a little strong on the onion for my husband but he hates onions. I thought they were good. Mongolian beef has a really good sauce. Horrible customer service. On a sunny temperate day we spotted this unique looking place and saw their patio. Entered and stated that we'd like to eat outside, and were curtly and simply told 'No'. OK so I am making a YELP account just to let everyone know how horrible my experience was. This is supposed to be romantic nice mid-high end restaurant. 1) The restaurant allowed a childhood birthday party to take place and allow kids to run all over the place and scream and ruin the dinners of everyone around us. We talked to a few other parties who were like WTF who are these people. Two tables got up and left before even ordering due the ruckus. Screw the parents who take there kids to a nicer restaurant and let them romp around like Chucky-Cheese and ruin everyones dinner. Management of the restaurant at least should have told the parents to keep the children at the damn table. They were so loud we could not even hold a conversation. 2) I ordered the rack of lamb, 3 x for $20 (includes cole slaw) one of which was the size of a McDonalds chicken nugget and way overcooked. Waiter never came into the meal to check our quality, another waiter asked if we needed water and I alerted him to my displeasure with my $6.75 one bite lamb bone and he said 'that's how it is' and offered no resolution. (The picture in the menu shows 3 healthy servings of lamb BTW) 3) The bathroom is a crap with a failing mirror a nasty mop hanging on the wall and in general disrepair. A great place without going to federal blvd in denver. Service is good. Parking can be a problem so be prepared to walk up a steep hill (at least 10% +) or if your with someone have them drop off the folks that would have trouble walking this. THe walk is worth the effort. The wait staff keeps your water glass full, a pet peeve of mine. Not too much attention just enough that you don't wonder if they forgot about you. I've had many meals here - noodle bowls and dishes - Not one was I disappointed in. My husband is not a fan of asian food, but really loves everything he has had here which if you knew him would say a lot, kinda like Julia Child giving her approval. So venture out and order the Plum wine with dessert, of which they offer before they give you the check - lunch and dinner. Now thats Service!! We stopped in a little before 6 and was the third table there. We ordered hot tea and spring rolls. We got the tea and then placed our pho order. It came within ten minutes and then the restaurant got busy. There was only one waitress and the owner working. We asked for more tea and didn't get it. Then we asked about our spring rolls when we were done with our soup. He quickly brought it and then we asked again about our tea. We couldn't say more than one thing because he would immediately turn around. I understand they were busy and we didn't mind but the second tea had no new bag so it was just hot water. The food was decent but doesn't compare to federal. The place has a nice cozy feel to it. We live about ten minutes away so probably come back to try the Chinese food. The menu is huge! read more

Well I rarely give 1 stars but this place fell in the category. Decided to try this place out and the food is worse than Dollar Scoop & Panda Express. The prices are a bit high on top of that. I ordered their vegetarin tofu with vegetables & black bean sauce lunch special. It comes with a chicken & rice soup similar to that of congee but not. Its super watery & the chicken (probably pigeon) where minced but was hard & rubbery. The lunch plate came out and the rice had a fragrance of plastic & not jasmine rice. The sauce was sweet and the beans they used where cowboy beans (aka the bean used in pork & beans) not black beans. It came with a vietnamese eggroll which was about the only good thing about the dish. The hot tea was ok too. I barely touched my food and felt sick to my stomach 5 minutes within leaving this place. If you want chinese/vietnamese food & live in the mountains (evergreen area) dont come here. Drive down to Littleton for better priced asian food. Otherwise you risk of throwing up $15 of nasty chinese/vietnames food. read more

I've eaten here before and some time ago the food was very good. I thought it might be a good spot for a large family gathering the day after a wedding. Two months prior, I tried to book a res and the man on the phone wouldn't take it, saying it was too far in advance. I tried again in person one month out...same thing. I called a week before, and he reluctantly took the reservation but said I had to call the morning of to confirm. The food was ok, but the service was so bad that we'll never go back. Rude, would be an understatement. We were seated at a long table and I wanted to order two of each dish that I had selected. When I asked the waiter (same guy that didn't want to take our res) to please place one of each dish on each end of the table (not that hard), his response was, "I just put them down and you can move them where you want." I had brought a nice bottle of sake to share, and when I asked for 14 cups, he brought 7 saying that he had to save some for the other guests (the place was practically empty). It went on like this all evening. And when we left, the owner didn't even look up, much less thank us. It's a shame to have to eliminate this one, as there aren't that many good places to eat up here. read more

I had a lovely dinner here with a group of friends. The service was fast and the restaurant ambiance was perfect and intimate. There is also outside seating that has a nice view. We ordered several vegetarian dishes to share and were not disappointed! I particularly liked the pineapple fried rice. I also enjoyed the vegetables in bean sauce (stir fry in a sweet soy bean sauce with a hint of lemon grass) and the vegetables in curry sauce. The Vietnamese iced coffee was delicious. Great food but terrible atmosphere and service. If you are looking for a nice resturant with a pretty atmosphere this is not the place to go. Stains all over carpets and holes in seats but the food makes up for it. I love the soups and many other dishes. All very high quality and flavorful! 11-29-10 We just had dinner at Saigon Landing. First of all, I loved the atmosphere. We had dinner there. We ordered the Saigon Landing Seafood Delight Appetizer. My favorites from that were the Grilled Mussels and the Shrimp Crispy Rolls. They were very yummy. For dinner we ordered the Pineapple Duck and Hot and Spicy Seafood. They were both Very good. We definitely loved the Hot and Spicy Seafood. I would order both again. The employees were all very nice and took care of us. I would recommend this restaurant 100%. I decided to try Saigon Landing after realizing my go to take out Asian place was closed. Whoever answered the phone wasn't exactly friendly, but they took my order and told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I show up 20 minutes later and stand at the to go counter for a couple minutes before a guy shows up. He looks at me, and keep walking. He then returns to answer the phone and take an order. No hi, no I'll be right with you, no can I help you, nothing. He continues to ignore me. Then another guy walks past and asks "what did you order?". I tell him and he hands over the food, I pay and that's it. I never received a thank you, a hello, an apology for the wait, nothing. So, bad customer service and rude waiters. I get home and try the food and it literally all was not good. The hot and sour soup was some weird concoction that had giant chunks of halved tomatoes and pineapple. It was way too sweet and had no spice to it. It was also very difficult to eat. The tofu was smothered in batter and deep fried until greasy. The sauce they provided was bland and lacking.
