Probably not the safest way to drive, but behold! There before you is one heck of a Bahn mi!
    Mark S.

I originally planned to get a late breakfast at this restaurant's neighbor (Boots and Kimo), but the line was crazy-long, so I changed up and went here instead and targeted in on an early lunch. How lucky was that!? This "minor misfortune" of the long line resulted in my sampling an extraordinary Bahn Mi sandwich. I'll keep this short, and simply share that the lemongrass chicken version of their Bahn, was, as the kids say these days, "FIRE!" . I'm embarrassed to say that I only discovered Bahn mi sandwiches about 3 years ago, but have loved them ever since. The overall experience of chomping down on a typical Bahn mi is that the combination of textures that come from the marriage of "crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside" bread, and the soft flavorful meats and crunchy vegetables is pleasurable. But toss in the flavors that range from savory to tangy to sweet, and then off to spicy, are pretty-much as close to the definition of what a harmonious and complementary meal, that excites the tastebuds, should be. I've probably had 30 of them in my life, and I would say, Saigon Noodle puts one together that just moved into my personal favorite for this blended cultures sandwich. The owner served me, and he's one of those guys who you instantly like. It's hard to put words together to describe why he was so likable and pleasant, but on my visit, his "A-game" of friendliness and charm was on. But, even if he had a "Bahn Mi Nazi" personality, I'd still go for the sam-ich. It was really good!!

Service was a little slow for eating at 2:30 in the afternoon. The lemongrass chicken was a little dry. Pho was delicious.

Walk up counter to order with table service after. Reasonable pricing. Huge portions. All the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. Could not believe how fast they were. Overall 10/10 for a quick casual meal that the whole family was happy with. Everyone especially loved the egg-rolls. My husband says the best he's had on island.

We stopped in after a long hike and were hungry but wanted something refreshing and filling. We were pleasantly amazed with the quick and friendly service, water as we were sitting down, and the sandwiches came within minutes. The lemongrass chicken sandwich was moist, flavorful and crunchy, perfect blend! Thank you!

Still our favorite Vietnamese spot! Food is always fresh and delicious. Dine-in is currently still lunch time with dinner open for takeout. Best spring rolls by the tray for any party you gotta go to! The pork summer rolls are incredible too! Portions are always generous with every dish. Pho is rich and flavorful, while the banh mi are big, crisp, fresh, and meaty. Everyone is always very friendly and welcoming. Hands down one of the best Vietnamese spots you'll find anywhere!

Nuts I found in my food

**BEWARE If You Have Nut Allergies - My Experience Was Terrifying** I hate leaving a negative review for a local business, but after what happened to me, I feel it's important to warn others--especially anyone with nut allergies. I placed a phone order for Pad Thai and fried spring rolls, and I was very clear about my **nut allergy**. When the person on the phone asked, "Anything else?" I said, "No, but I want to let you know I have a nut allergy." She said, "Okay, no problem," and confirmed my order. I was reassured. I was only 5 minutes away, so I arrived quickly. When I paid, I double-checked and said, "Just to confirm--**no nuts** on anything, right?" She turned around and yelled to the chef, "No peanut!" When she handed me my food for a **third time**, I asked, "No nuts, right?" The woman said, "No nuts," with a smile. Feeling confident that everything was safe, I thanked her again and left. When I opened the containers in my car, I didn't see any obvious signs of nuts, so I drove the 30 minutes home. But as I began eating, I started to feel a familiar allergic reaction. I immediately stopped eating and called the restaurant. I said, "Hi, I just ordered, but I think you put nuts in my food because I'm having an allergic reaction." The woman on the phone responded **rudely**, "Well, you told me too late." I was stunned by this and kind of speechless. She then dismissed me, saying, "It's just a little bit of nuts." That's when I lost my patience. I told her, "I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just saying **please be more careful** because this could be life threatening for someone else." Thankfully, my allergy isn't as severe as some, but over the years, it has worsened, and I was genuinely scared. I didn't eat the rest of my meal, and I told her I was **30 minutes away** and didn't want them to remake it--just a refund would suffice. To their credit, they did refund me. What bothers me so much is that they **KNOWINGLY gave me nuts** in my food after I confirmed multiple times that I had a nut allergy. I always take extra care when ordering, especially at a new place, to avoid this kind of situation. I was so disappointed by the lack of care and professionalism. The spring rolls are good here, but if you have a **nut allergy**, I strongly suggest being **extra cautious**--because it seems like they may not take food allergies seriously.

Always a great time and delicious food. I'm assuming its the business owner bc he's always here & friendly to people. I wish for many, many, many more years to come for this family & their business. I even overheard him recognizing a regular customer of his & knew his order before he even asked.

During our trip to Hawaii this summer, we were excited to try all the amazing food we had heard about, but honestly, it was harder to find than expected--until we stumbled upon this hidden gem. Right next door to the popular Boots and Kimo, where the line was way too long, we decided to give this spot a try instead. It's truly a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but the moment I saw all the customers chatting with the owner-operator, I knew we were in for something special. Locals love it, and that's always a great sign! I can't recall all the prices, but everything was very reasonably priced, and I certainly didn't feel like I overpaid. We ordered: * Spicy Chicken and Egg Roll Combo Wow! This dish looked as flavorful as it tasted. Spicy, aromatic, and packed with all the wonderful elements of Vietnamese cooking--jasmine rice, fresh vegetables, and that irresistible fish sauce, the "liquor of love." It had such a comforting, homemade feel to it. Absolutely delicious! * Charbroiled Beef Rib Kalbi Hands down, the best kalbi in all of Oahu! The portion size was generous, and the smell of the charbroiled beef was incredible. Cooked to perfection, each bite was bursting with flavor. * Pork Chop and Fried Chicken Even though it looked dry at first glance, this dish surprised me--it was moist and packed with flavor, thanks to the marinade. It also came with an egg roll, rounding out a great dish. Very respectful. Though I don't live in Hawaii, if I did, this would be a go-to spot. It's a small, family-owned business, and I love supporting places like this. Highly recommend!

Plenty of masks. The mask are on the thicker side believed to be made in Vietnam. Cute masks and sports team masks.

There are a few Vietnamese restaurants here in Kailua. It's casual restaurant located in the Enchanted Lake Shopping Center! I like to come here because great food, fast and friendly service and the ample free parking at the shopping center! Their restaurant used to be packed with customers dining in before the covid pandemic and they switched to take out only. Now days they opened up the dine-in area during the lunch time. Everyone is nice here especially the older man who always recognizes his repeat customers. He was always friendly and gave great service! Their portion was ways generous and the food was always fresh & delicious. I usually get the Teri chicken sandwich but sometimes get their pad Thai, meat combo on rice or papaya salad. My mom & I preferred papaya salad over a rice plate. I do like the bbq pork plate & spring rolls on vermicelli noodles! Everything is good here!

There was no dine in option so we had to take it home, which was fine. The food was very good. Rich flavors and generous portions.

Food absolutely slaps! They're best suited for take out; you still need to call it in. But otherwise, authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

I ordered the shrimp katsu ramen with a shoyu egg. The broth and noodles were excellent and really the highlight of the dish. I wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp katsu on its own since it was a bit chewy, but once it soaked in the broth, it was much better. The portion size was just right, filling without being too much. Overall, a solid ramen spot, especially if you're already in Kailua.
