Cute spot before heading to the beach. Very affordable, reasonable prices for coffee and drinks. We also ordered poke which was delicious. They sell fresh flowers at the door too along side very unique souvenirs. Market has huge selection of chips, sweets, and other snacks. A great mix of a coffee shop, restaurant, and convenience store. The staff is sweet and they draw a surfer boy on the receipt

Cute little store with lots of souvenirs, drinks, snacks and food. Two of the employees working the front counter looked less than enthused to be there which wasn't very inviting and the sole reason for the lower rating. Would love to try their sandwiches another time as they sounded good, especially after hours at the beach.

Best sandwich I had so far on this trip! Had the Caprese Sandwich and it was delicious! Worth the walk from the beach.

The fresh catch fish burrito is delicious, with fresh lettuce and savory dressing, so refreshing eating it at the beach. Always a favorite of me and my hubby, and I share it with my puppy. It is consistently good every time I ordered it.

My husband is traveling for work and is currently in Hawaii. He recently checked this place out for lunch. The restaurant is clean and well appointed and the staff was very nice. He ordered the Furikake Fresh Catch Bento and he said it was very good. The portion was filling and the flavor was great. if you are on the island and want to try something fresh and authentic, definitely check this place out!

Stopped here as we drove around the island... cute little market... fresh sandwiches... fresh flowers ....Hawaiian Butter Toffee... yum!

A classic example of an independent market that is super convenient, and authentic Hawaii to the extreme! The prices are what they are but the coffee is solid and the sandwiches are right on. The people who work there are friendly and the souvenirs are solid. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in Manhattan walking around with a Kalapawai Market Yeti!

    Must stop in Kailua Town

Wow it's like a foodie paradise. Tasty unusual concoctions that are amazing and unpretentious I had a risotto asparagus cake ( much like a crab cake) that was too yummy. The vegetarian counter gal was most helpfull. At the beverage bar the wide range of beverages and full bar was quite unexpected. Lorraina was too much fun and made us feel like "family". We loved our complimentary dessert...... psych! This place is a must-stop on O'ahu.

I always stop at this locally owned market when I visit Kailua. The historic market was built in 1932! They have a small sandwich shop in the back, a coffee station in front (serving Hawaiian coffee, of course) and convenience store items up front. I like that they carry locally made goods as well. This visit, I picked up red Hawaiian Volcanic Salt, which is hard to find. Prices were reasonable. The market is close to the beach, making it a perfect spot to grab lunch. Sandwich prices have gone up since my last visit, but the sandwiches are large and sharable. The clerks are friendly, helpful and efficient.

a cute stop with all the beach, breakfast, and lunch needs! we had their coffee before the beach and sandwiches for lunch on the beach and it was perfect! iconic location. I has the fresh catch wrap and LOVED it! so fresh :) they also had poke!!!

super yummy sandwiches. my boyfriend and i ordered two kailua club sandwiches and picked up some chips and drinks before heading out to lanikai beach for the day. the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and packed with protein. would recommend.

While on the north shore of Oahu thanks to booking a kayak tour, the package we booked came with lunch. One of the choices was here for a select menu of items. We came here as it looked like more our speed. More of a down home type place that is more focused on food than looking a certain way - vintage with paneling, dim lighting and some solid food. I went with the turkey BLT wrap - which could have used more meat but was good. The deal also came with a bag of chips and a can of soda. Was just the right amount of food - and I liked it here. Would come back and try something new.

    Where is the turkey?

I haven't been here in a long time. Last summer I had some good tasty sandwiches made by the girls working there. This time a guy was working. He spent a lot of time talking I could see back there. The turkey club had hardly any meat on it. Not like previous sandwiches id gotten here. It was basically a mouthful of white bread, veg and cheese. Could barely see or taste the turkey. I asked for light mayo. As you can see from the picture it wasnt light mayo. Are there any adult super vision in that place because all I see is really young people in their twenties working there. Do they take any sanitation course. And they should know not to use the cash register with gloves on then go put napkins in the napkin dispenser then go behind the sandwich board - touch her hair and grab a slice of bread. When your wearing plastic gloves rather than your hands you dont thibk about the sanitaruinesd and normally your washing your hands all the time when you dont have gloves on. Very disappointed and probably wont cone again as its a pain destination with all the tourists. And the other restaurant the parking ids bad and I haven't had a great deal of satisfaction with that place. Last ti.e I I went was last labor day I think. I had to wait quite a while as I stood there waiting for my to go order while everybody in the kitchen ignored the printer ticket and screwed around doing stuff. Finally I said my ticket is over tgere on the printer. The service is bad minus the people at the cash register and they aren't very well trained. Just some casual people working in a kitchen that aren't really serious. And the college kids at the other location need an adult ensuring the sandwiches are made properly.

    That's what $18 gets you....

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. Water is self-serve, and the setup feels more like a cafeteria than a traditional sit-down restaurant. That said, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes for a pleasant experience. I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, a laid-back environment, and friendly service. I'll definitely keep coming back.

We ordered the combination laulau & kalua pig plate, misoyaki butterfish bento with teri beef, fried saimin with teri chicken, and a slice of their chocolate cream pie topped with haupia cream and macnuts. The laulau had a great pork to luau leaf ratio and tasted exactly how a good laulau should. The kalua pig was tender and juicy... maybe a little too juicy because some of the juices spilled into the takeout bag. The misoyaki butterfish was the standout of the entire meal. Tender, buttery, and everything you hope misoyaki butterfish will be. It was so good that the teri beef basically became the side chick waiting on standby. This is a short update on my visit and review from last week. It's a "good news, bad news"…read moresituation. The food news is that the stench is gone. It appears that whatever was causing it (most likely the clogged drain pipe) was quickly fixed, and everything is smelling clean, and back to normal. The checkout still had only 1 line open, but there wasn't much need for more when I came at 11:30am. The clerks smiled and were more cheerful than I had experienced in the past, so always a plus. On the negative side, one of the main reasons I came today was due to the Tuesday special ad items. They unfortunately didn't have one of the items I specifically came for, and after one of the floor clerks checked in the back for me, he said because they "share" these items with Times Market, they often don't receive any; which I think is terrible. It's not the first time, this has occurred, and it's very annoying, and I hope they remedy the situation for more fair and equitable allocation, so it doesn't feel like a "bait and switch" type of situation (I know it's not, but still, very frustrating). Can't give more than 4 stars.
