Mojitos like a double $5 happy hour till 6
    Cynthia C.

Delicious chicken dishes with 2 sides for only $17! Plus happy hour is $5 mojitos and mai tai's. In definitely coming back here. I've tried fancy restaurants with amazing views where the quality wasn't nearly as good.

We have eaten here 4 times in the last month-pleasant casual indoor and outdoor restaurant. Food : we like the chicken and pork dishes, and the papaya salad. Our friends like the haupia pie dessert and the potatoes. The best times to eat here are: Tuesday lunch -they have 4 special price dishes or Wednesday lunch-they have 4 special price sandwiches. All of these choices are tasty. Service :always has been pleasant and efficient Facility -the inside is open, casual but we like to eat outside. Even though it is next to a busy street, there is a tall hedge surrounding the tables, making it more separate. The outside can be covered if it rains. Location -conveniently located in downtown Kailua. Parking is on the street or in a nearby garage.

I had a shrimp dish with rice and macaroni salad. The salad isn't my thing. Too much mayo and too starchy. But I loved the shrimp and rice. Lots of garlic and flavor! This was part of an organized tour and our meal selections were preselected but I enjoyed mine. The portion size was small though. Our drinks were not included and a Pepsi was $5. There wasn't much interaction with staff but they were fine. The restaurant is an open air establishment which was nice and we could feel the breeze.

Searched on Yelp for a lunch recommendation after hiking in the area. We arrived a little after 12, and parked in lot close by. They have indoor and outside seating. One wanted to set inside. The interior has a relaxed vibe with some artist works on the walls for sale. We were seated right away and received our menus. Two of us ordered the Mochiko Garlic Chicken salad and one ordered the Mochiko Garlic Chicken entree. The salads were fresh and the chicken was nicely prepared an ono. The Mochiko Garlic Chicken entree could have fed two people easily. We had leftovers to take home so the quantity of the meals were sizable Service was good, water refilled and server was pleasant.

Came here for a birthday lunch, was pretty quiet at 11:30am when we arrived. Service: our server was really lovely but could tell she was a little flustered running around. There seemed to be only two servers and our bill was very late to arrive when we asked for it at the end. Food: very fresh and the garlic fries were great. However portions were on the small side, my Kalbi salad was tiny on the Kalbi but decent on the salad. My friend said the ceviche was tasteless and not worth $18 portion wise. My other friend had a large portion of pork but disappointed in lack of kale. Price: not too bad for Kailua but inconsistent with portion size. All in all, nice clean atmosphere and was definitely getting busy as we left but probably won't return.

A good place for lunch. Service staff were nice, but a bit slow, probably due to a staff shortage or that they got busy. Food was good though. I had their Orange Duck Confit which was very tasty & moist, crispy on the outside. (Supposedly this dish was on the DDD show). My friends had the Seared Ahi Salad & Beef Tomato; both looked good. Parking is either metered street or at two lots; one a block away front facing the restaurant & the other in back of the restaurant which has a big sign, Public Parking. I'd recommend the Public Parking one as it is only 75 cents an hour, but the old meter (& I mean old) only takes coins. My friends parked in the other lot which they said was a little more expensive; maybe $1.50 an hour? Note - make sure you put enough coins in the meter as they do come around & check. The car next to me got a ticket.

got here at 7:10, put in an order for drinks, came out within minutes. then ordered apps and entrees they both came out within 10 minutes! received everything by 7:30 and food was so good! i came a wednesday evening. and got their poke trio and ahi katsu and red curry. service was great! everyone was so friendly

My Hawaiian friend took me here and we had some late lunch together. We share all food we order; steak is ok, ceviche is not my test. I just don't like that they put coconut to everything. It doesn't go well. I speak from my experience from the person that grow up with coconut and familia with it all of my life. I feel like a fake food that use fusion as an excuse to add an ingredient that thinking a tourist will like as a coconut it represents the food from an island. Anyway, I had ceviche at an authentic Spanish restaurant before and the dressing is different so every place that add coconut milk in ceviche, I take it as a fusion dish. Other than that, we were ok with the drinks and another dishes

Came here for a late lunch and was the sole diner in the dining room. Servers were attentive, parking is metered on street or there is a public parking at the rear. I ordered the shrimp ceviche, which has coconut milk and was very tasty. I also had the duck confit l'orange which had a nice crisp skin and great flavor. I ordered the Thai fish curry to go. Great dining experience!

Saw the high ratings for the windward side eatery in Kailua and had to give it a try and the food was awesome! We couldn't pass up the Red Curry Fish which consisted of fresh local ahi topped with Thai red curry and a heaping side of rice and green papaya salad. The plate lived up to expectations. We also got the Triple Surf Combo of garlic shrimp, furikake salmon and ahi poke with mac salad and rice. A nice surprise was the ube smoothie which had the consistency of an icy milkshake. We can't forget to mention the eatery was featured on Guy Fieri's DDD. Our server was pleasant and she took time to explain some of the yummy items on the menu. The ambiance was upbeat and colorful with a retro feel and very clean.

I've driven past this spot plenty of times, but the logo always made me think it was just another "Zippy's/L&L" style plate lunch place. One random weekend, I finally stopped in and was surprised to find it's actually fresh, kitchen cooked food (not fast food). The selection was solid, and our server Chloe was super engaged, helpful, and had great recommendations. The outdoor seating was perfect with the evening breeze, and we noticed they've got a bar area we'll definitely be back to try for some day drinking soon.

Food is eh, but the service, drinks, and vibes are great! Located in Kailua, I recently came in for a lunch with my Pilates pals. This spot is great for groups, it was super convenient to make an online reservation and it's great that they automatically split the bill for each person and added an 18% gratuity. I really appreciated that they kept every order so organized. The parking is not as convenient but there are a few paid street parking spots up front and a few public paid lots a short walk away. We were celebrating so we each had a few drinks. I started with their strawberry mango marg and was obsessed that they had half the rim lined with tajin and the other half with li hing mui! We also had a celebratory glass of bubbly - we love a fun toast! I ordered the seared ahi with ginger scallion and with most entrees you're able to choose from white rice, brown rice, and another choice of sides like korean sprout salad, kimchi, and mac salad. I went with their brown rice and korean sprout salad. The sides are where it really fell short for me, both had a kinda mushy acidic taste. I tried a few bites of the spicy ahi poke and pork (kalua pig) combo and the fish curry and overall it was okay- no dish really stood out flavor wise and the textures kinda all read mushy. I would come again for drinks and pupus!

This was our lunch stop on the Go Hawaii Tours. Cool venue with friendly servers. My family enjoyed the Garlic Shrimp, Pork, and Poke Bowl. The local art not only made the walls beautifully decorated but also supports local artists (you can purchase). All of the means come with rice and macaroni salad.

Every piece of sushi was beautifully presented not overwhelming. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of thought into the balance of flavors and textures. One of my favorite bites was a sashimi piece topped with something that looked like finely grated cheese (not sure what it actually was), but it melted perfectly with the fish and added a really unique savory flavor. The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. So the thing about coming to Fun Station is the "suspended flying noodle thingy" which I didn't go for, but if you like Instagramable stuffs, then I supposed you would probably go for that flying-noodle dish. As for me, I mainly came to try their Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, and as a bonus......... I actually got a 20% discount thanks to my friend - Jennifer C. who let a Bruddah know about da DEALAGES in da Sunday food section newspaper, as they had a coupon! The Sunday morning when I came with my friend, I can clearly see that this restaurant was thriving, as every table in the restaurant was taken. Fun Station specializes in noodles, but if you're not into that, they do serve other items like - soups, vegetable dishes, rice plates, & porridge (jook). Upon looking over the menu, we ordered the following items - 1. Frrrrrrried Chicken Wings ($9.95) for an appetizer 2. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles ($17.95 - minus da 20% coupon DEALAGES) 3. Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton in soup ($18.95) What can I say about da grub??? Da chicken wings came out hot & crispy. Although they featured only "flats" vs. drums (I like drums), I must say da wings was nicely executed. As for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles.........nicely plated on a fancy smanshy panda plate. The cake noodles weren't drowning in gravy, so the noodles stayed crispy on the dish. I really liked how they did this dish, and would easily come back here to eat it again. My friend had the Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton soup. The dish looked good, and there weren't any complaints, so I take it that it was pretty ono! Overall, a very satisfying meal and the service here was on point, as the staff was friendly & very efficient. Easy 5 stars for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles! Chance 'em!

There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. You line up to get your food, pay for it, grab your condiments, utensils, and a cup of water, then find a seat and enjoy. I've already been here twice, and after writing about my experience, I need to make a third visit happen very soon! There are not enough days off in a week to enjoy all of the amazing food on this island, but I'm going to do my best to experience as many places as I can. Our omakase menu consisted of 12 courses: Firefly Squid Sushi Rice wrapped with Bluefin Tuna topped with a quail egg. Their specialty course. Spanish Mackerel Madi Red Sea Bream with cilantro oil Hokkaido Scallop with finger lime Uni Toast with wasabi guacamole Chawanmushi with short-neck clam topped with Mexican corn Otoro A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Taco with crispy nori chips Wild King Salmon topped with garlic chips Blue Fin Toro hand roll Local Abe's Hawaiian ice cream, purple sweet potato bean paste and churro with brown sugar. Each course was meticulously prepared. They were all delicious, but my favorites were the firefly squid, bluefin tuna topped with the quail egg, Hokkaido scallop, and the uni toast. Our friend got a special scoop of ice cream where he rolled in a try of matcha powder that had Happy Birthday inscribed on it. We thoroughly enjoyed our omakase experience and the courses with a slight Mexican flair. $100 for this 12-course omakase was very reasonable. Hope to be back on our next visit to Hawaii.
