The restaurant is nicely decorated, and within five minutes it was completely full. My dad ordered the specialty beef bone rice noodle soup. A second bowl came out just for the bone--holy moly! His only complaint was the noodles; he didn't care for the wide noodles. My sister got the bún bò Huế. The broth was excellent and approved by my parents, and it came with a generous amount of meat. My mom ordered bún cá and really enjoyed her meal. Each soup-based dish came with a plate of fresh vegetables. I ordered the grilled specialty platter. It was a lot of food, but everything was delicious. I also tried the salted iced coffee, which was just okay. They accept cash or debit only. Service was quick and efficient, and we were served tea as soon as we were seated. I highly recommend An Ngon Vietnamese Cuisine.

The restaurant was spacious and could seat a lot of people, but from other reviewers on Yelp, this place can get very busy. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. We ordered the following: 2 X Grilled Pork and Spring Roll with Vermicelli 1 X Grilled Chicken with Spring Roll Vermicelli Both the grilled port and grilled chicken were tender, and very flavourful. The spring rolls were crispy, large, but lacked a bit of taste compared with other restaurants. Overall, both dishes were good as well as the service. I would return to try Pho next time.

The broth was so flavourful, lots of lemongrass and lime flavour. It was loaded with beef, sausage slices, and pork blood so this was very worth it! 10/10! Service was typical of an Asian restaurant but must comment that the decor inside the restaurant is very beautiful. Lots of greenery and bamboo decorations which made the ambience very enjoyable for dining. Don't be fooled by the industrial appearance of the outside!

The menu unfurls with impressive breadth, moving well beyond expected pho into simmered specialties that reward the adventurous diner. Service throughout was attentive and unhurried, the sort of hospitality that turns newcomers into regulars. What lingers most is the room itself. Disco lighting fixtures and a tucked away stage lend the space an unexpected theatricality, as though it were built for celebration rather than mere sustenance. Despite the family's expansion into a sleeker downtown outpost, this original location retains a lived in charm no polished interior could replicate. The broth carries real depth and fragrance, the noodles handled with care, and the accompanying plates, from crisp spring rolls to grilled specialties, arrive with the consistency that keeps a neighborhood loyal for decades. If there is a critique to offer, it is only that the restaurant's understated exterior undersells the warmth and quality found within. This is Vietnamese cooking presented without pretense: generous, comforting, and utterly sincere. Pho Ngoc Yen earns its reputation through steady, quiet excellence, and it remains a destination worth returning to again and again.

It was still satisfying. We tried their bun rieu for the very first time. We haven't really had good bun rieu in GTA, but I was pleasantly surprised by how flavourful the broth is. There is also a lot of toppings. I was very pleased. The service is quick. The restaurant is a little cramp and always very busy, but still comfortable to dine in. They are going hi tech with a QR code scanning, or an iPad Mini, but that's just the menu; you get a check that you write in the menu number and quantity. The food in on par with a typical Vietnamese comfort food. Service is quick and the portions are big. For lunch, you can opt for the traditional quick fixes, such as their Pho, rice plates or apps. The egg rolls was a bit of a let down, and it was too dry (appeared it was pre-fried, and when you order it they throw it back in the fryer to reheat). The Pho was flavorful but they overlooked our request for the beef on the side. They do offer traditional Vietnamese dinner, but it can be a hit or miss (their sour soup was a hit but their Beef Cubes on Iron Platter wasn't our favorite). Similar to other place, it's noisy, bustling with people and not a place where you want for a romantic date.
